Putting a cache near a playground is always tricky.
It is time for this one to be retired.
It is time for this one to be retired.
I visited the cached twice today but there were too many muggles.
Could not risk going to the hiding spot and give the game away.
Will have to try another day.

Whoops, looks like another muggled cache,
Spent far too much time looking for a cache where it simply is not!
Unless of course we just missed it or our coord's are off.
Thanks for bringing us here anyway,
...we enjoyed this small park while we had our lunch.

Spent a little while with my back against the fence but just couldnt come up with the cache! Maybe I'll try in the daytime!
Found it tonight on my way home left a little dinosaur, a hairtie that dropped out of my pocket and a spare (mostly working) pen because the cache didn't have one. When I get a chance I'll come back and switch it for a better one :3 fun find!
Found while the Geowife visited an ill Aunt in the Hospital; The Geokids and I were glad to escape for an hour!

TNLN TFTC. one of a few found today again with no writing device and forgot my own. Oh well.
Found this one while on a Sunday afternoon bike ride around McLaren Vale. A quick find with Mrs Tardis and Toddler Tardis as cover so Mr Tardis didn't look too suspicious near the playground. Great to see a decent sized cache container. A lovely bike track along here too. SL. TFTC.

A quick find while caching the area with Mogni and Mary from Aussie M&M !!! TFTC
A quick drive by with Mogni and CP Wanderer on a caching blitz where Mogni fired on all cylinders most of the day. Think there might be a gnome there, but do not quote me on it...

Found during a caching run in the southern vales area. Had to be quiet with this one! Thanks for the cache xibat.
Today we did a huge challange and achieved 178 caches in a 24 hour period starting at gawler on a bicycle at midnight and finishing at the mclaren vale in a car 24 hours later. Sweat, blood and laughter was part and parcel to find a cache every 8 minutes for 24 hours. We found this cache and thankyou for making our challange possible. We were assisted in our challange by emily~angel & dennisC52, Thanks guys you did a fantastic job. We had a ball and were very tired in the end, maybe I'll not cache tommorow hahaha.TFTCSL TNLN you should see our track from the GPS 320km driven in total for the day with 185 caches visited.
Find 152 of 178 for the day. Started at Midnight this morning with the Nxy challenge, and continued till midnight tonight in a 24 hour caching hunt with McKee Clan on our bikes, and then joined at 3:30am by Emily~Angel, swapping our bikes for a 4WD, and finishing at Maclaren Vale with 178 finds for the day for McKee Clan and I, and about 120 for Emily~Angel. Had a ball, but was glad to hug the pillow in the end. See the McKee Clan log for more info.

Yes, there is a maze made from 2 metre high shrubs about 1 km to the north of this cache. The maze is owned by Maxwell Winery at the corner of Olivers & Chalk Hill Roads, McLaren Vale. It was a good maze where an adult could be lost for 15 minutes, and a young child may never find their way out. Sadly the maze has not been maintained. It has now fallen into disrepair and the entrance has been closed off by the owner.
Getting back to the cache, there is a labyrinth as is described in the cache description. Unfortunately it is not the sort you can get lost in. It is a 2D labyrinth layed out on the ground with some mushroom seats located in the centre. According to the notes that were on a nearby tree, following the path would give strength to your spiritual being.

Found the cache easily and headed for the labyrinth. After some confusion asked a local who directed it to us 1km down the highway which it was. Your notes need amending to reflect this. It was CLOSED for maintenence, darn it. But TFTC. Dropped TB for Grace.
We found the cache on our way from Normanville to Adelaide.

Fortunately all was quiet and didn't take long to locate in the wet foliage this morning.
The cache has a damp feel to it inside (more than just cold) , but we could still write in the log book.
Took pathtag. Left pet collar. SL.
Thanks again xibat.

Had to wait for a minute or so to let a couple walking their dog to pass, then it was an easy find due to the fact that I was well hidden from view. TFTC
Found after coffee at Bracegirdles on the McLaren Vale/McLaren Flat Road.
Yummy - you should see the chocolate range of drinks and eats.
Don't take your kids - it's kids heaven but could be a problem that night (if you get my drift)

What a lovely walk through here.. This was my first find with my new gps. Thanks Grace for the cache.
Found at 12:00 with Olga
Our first find after a late breakfast at a nearby cafe. It was cold and the bushes were wet, so noturally only I went in for the retrieval.

A deja vu moment for Astro, but I still found it before he did . I don't think anyone will accidentally stumble on the cache where it is...
Thanks Xibat & Grace!

I'm sure I had been here before. And I had. Funny how you forget you sign your life away some times....... Clear skies.
Found as team SaintsMadHouse, and now that I am an adult, I have my own account and will log with this.raced out on day trip in SA, Found and placed Dragon Spinner, got home and realised we forgot to write in the log book. we were so excited to place and had to rush to airport.

This was our 3690th overall find.
Found at 10:21 AM. It took a lot longer than it should have to find this cache, what was worse was the person that turned up at the playground while we were signing the log. We had to sneak out the other end and go back to the car but he was none the wiser and kept his back to us all the time.
Thanks xibat for the cache.

Found during a lazy Sunday afternoon's caching with Liz and Bruce. Well, maybe not that lazy. TFTC
GeoWife too chicken to check this spot incase long legged crittters were guarding the cache so GeoHusband made the find. He did look mighty suspicious though upon reappearing from the undergrowth but luckily muggles too busy playing to notice. Took the Westward Bound TB and left small Donkey to play with large Donkey. Thanks Grace - will have to help our 6mth old GeoGrand-daughter to create and hid her own cache when she is a bit older. Loved the Log Book - so cute.
Had to wait for some elderly muggles to finish before accessing the cache Left a Westward bound TB TFTC

Thanks Grace for the cache. I found it, and then went to the labyrinth.
Walked around looking at all the animals. Can't say I took my shoes off to feel the earth.

Just as we found the cache, a bunch of people simultaneously arrived in the vicinity. Emerging from the bushes, we sure got some strange looks from a couple . TNLN. Cheers
Whilst staying at the nearby caravan park, one of the Kettle Kids decided to go for a walk and find this one. After waiting for a number of muggles to clear he managed to find the cache quickly.
We love this area and regularly enjoy riding our bikes along this path when we holiday down here.

This was one of our favourite caches during our time in your beautiful town. We had a few people watching us from the playground but we hid behind the bushes and grabbed your well hidden cache. Thankyou for taking the time to hide this cache.
@ 10:00am
I checked the cache this morning. It is in good order and I found it where I expected it to be.
Yes, the camo is good, but it is a good size and if you use the hint, it is not that hard to find.
I removed a box near by which was the size and shape of a VCR tape holder. This was just rubbish polluting the site.

No luck...once again with BBOYSQG. We tried walking, crawling and climbing over the bush but still no luck. Went to the Labyrinth to let out of frustrations and returned with once again no luck!!!! Found the fake one. Is it still there?
After a serious case of 'thing blindness', DJAJ and we decided to seek 'serenity now' at the labyrinth.....still no luck on our return. We found a 'is this it?' empty box hidden at about the coords but Grace eludes us still....is she still there?
Found a red herring phantom cache first - then found the real cache. Think its great that this was hidden by a little girl. TNLNSL.
2nd success for the new shiny: the official geocaching app on an Apple iPhone. So easy and saves lots of time over our old method of taking web page printouts with us on a hunt.

I took a much welcomed break from my get-fit bike ride (Morphett Vale to Willunga and return) to seek this out. Found it quickly, signed the log, left a TB and back on my bike.
Was down doing some work in the Southern Vales this afternoon so grabbed a few caches while I was there. Picked the wrong time to get this one just after school got out but grabbed it eventually. TFTC.
When we pulled up there were muggles in the playground. Sat in the car fiddling with the GPSr for a short while and fortunately the muggles decided to leave. It certainly is a busy place with bike riders and walkers. Managed to find the cache inbetween people going past.
Thanks xibat and Grace. Haven't seen this area before.

It is always good to get these sort of caches early in the day or even better on a wet day so as to minimize muggles.
Even so as I emerged from the edge of the thicket I gave a passing jogger a fright wondering what I was doing in there.

Thanks

My last cache for the night (and my last log for the trip - phew!) and it was pouring rain by the time I got here. Fortunately the clue was very handy and meant I could cut down the search time required. I used my body to shield the cache from the rain and decided that was enough for the night, I was saturated.
The playground looked like a lot of fun for kids, glad I wasn't here during the day.
Cheers,
R - B

Got this OK but had to be careful not to alert the dog in the nearby house to my presence - I could hear him/her snuffling around near the fence. I saw two crested pigeons doing their courting dance - hadn't seen that before, done in unison on the walking pathway. A reminder that Spring is in the air.
Found the cache OK and signed the log. Then explored the Clayton's maze up the road. TFTC xibat.
