Looked all over the gun, but couldn't see it anywhere - even looked where the sun doesn't shine .
We think it has gone as well [xx(] - can the CO arrange for it to be checked/replaced [?]
Thanks WanderingAus.

agree with previous post, painter must of go rid of it, must of made 'em smile though!!!
Driving by, I noticed that the gun has recently had a repaint. I rather suspect that the cache has gone AWOL during the painting process.
Quick retrieval and on our way tftc

Found this with showing some muggle friends tha live nearby what geocaching is all about...may have a couple of converts. TFTC.
Went Barack for a second look and found it! Bit trickier than implied but a good hide!!
Yep, nice easy locus cache on a nice day at the beach. Remembering all those who fought for our country. SL on an empty page in the middle. TFTC.
Wind was almost gale force down on the beach front this afternoon but managed to hang on and find cache. TFTC
Heading to catch some waves with 3 excited kids! Congratulations to M and S for their first find!!
Beautiful location. Found on a cool evening stroll watching the sunset. SL , log is full. TFTC.

Another great day on my holiday finding some geocaches. Soon had this one located. SL TFTC
Found by geowife just where geodad had already looked. The RSL dude smiled at us knowingly. TFTC. Good hide!
Found this one even though there were a few muggles about! Co-ords were pretty much spot on. SL TFTC
Sadly we didn't find this cache. We looked in all the hidey holes we could find but obviously didn't find the right place. After a good look over twice by us both we gave up as rain was threatening again. We did enjoy the views here though so thanks for bringing us here.
Found at 18:15 by Olga, who kindly let me continue looking after she had found it.
A nice end to the day, after a few caches in the Onka NP, then coffee near here, and another walk, this time along the beach.

Got busted from someone through the window. But still managed to find and leave.
Went shopping at Colonnades and decided to go to Pt Noarlunga Bakery for lunch as it was a nice day. Ate our lunch at the beach and headed for home. As we drove past the gun, decided that for a change no-one was around so without the GPS headed to it. Oh Boy is this going to be hard or what??? Klem started one side and Mrs K the other. The cache was in her hand in seconds - how lucky was that! Signed log and then spent some time looking around the gardens etc. TFTC
Lots of vets inside so we were pleased this was a very quick find!! Thanks WanderingAus from another wanderer!!!!
Got close and the near by carpark had several cars in it so the building was holding several muggles but it was ok their line of sight was obscured so cache was soon found and log signed TFTC
the caretaker??? came out and explained to us how the gun was used in Tobruk then politely asked mum to move the car ooooops try again another day
Thank goodness this cache is hidden in a sensible place. Some of these gun caches can take a very long time indeed, but this one was found with a minute or two. A lovely view from up here, although a little winddy today. SL. TFTC.

Quick and easy find after dinner while showing a friend what this geocaching business is all about, I think he is already hooked haha. TFTF!
Didn't need Gps for this one and I got lucky and hit the jackpot right away! We are getting good at this! 15th for the night/morn TFTC
late night caching with caponeis@421 great night and great hides one of 17 we got
Spent about 20min searching over & under this gun but no luck. Cache may well still be lurking there somewhere!
lovely old gun in a very public forum. approached by numerous people worried about our actions this close to ANZAC day...
Came yesterday but was very windy and dark and couldn't find. Returned this afternoon and found fairly quickly. Not too hard, although cache is small and dark and well camouflaged. Recorded find in log book. TFTC
A visit by the Parrot after a relaxing afternoon at the beach.
Picked up a few caches on the way home.
Bought some local fish and chips and had a picnic in front of the canon.

Was in the area for some diving off the pier, and thought I would grab a quick one. Had some trouble because of all the little nooks and crannies on the gun. In the end a nice man from the RSL helped me out, but it was not where he said it normally is. I moved it back there on his advice. It was nice to learn about this, and the views were great. TFTC.
A warm day, not too many muggles about at 1pm on a school day.

There were a couple of young fellows avidly inspecting the gun as we approached, so I waved my GPS in the air. We chatted for a while, then they left and we ( Geo Pal "Are We There Yet!" and I) continued the search.
A very nice man was unloading cartons at the entrance of the building and introduced himself as the Vice President of this RSL Club. He gave us a quick tour inside and then showed us the sibling (from a cutting) of the Lone Pine from Gallipoli that is at the rear of the building. The gun was actually used at Gallipoli and there are a few interesting "one-offs" inside, including the ONLY honour board anywhere for Nurses killed in the Gallipoli campaign. The place is open every day of the week except Mon & Tues from 4pm most days and meals appear to be excellent value. Remember to remove headgear when inside as a mark of respect.
"Are We There Yet! " found the cache whilst I was chatting. TNLNSL and took a few photos of us next to the Lone Pine sibling.

Two young geocachers were there when we ("How Do They Know?" and I) approached the gun. They had been unsuccessful and in a hurry and didn't stay to see if we could find the cache. We were lucky enough to go inside the RSL and see the Lone Pine sibling as well as other memorials of those who gave their lives in Gallipoli and other war fronts, courtesy of the friendly vice-president of the club. TFTC.

Had a DNF on Jan 6. Received a hint from e.gregory1 and returned to make the find today after a morning swim. Aaaaaaarrrrgh, no pencil to sign log. Might make a third trip back to sign later. thanks WanderingAus.
Have known about this gun for a long time, with in-laws not far away. It was always a very cramped spot with the gun out the front of the RSL hall, but what a wonderful view.
Now that the caravan park has gone, the area has been redeveloped into a lovely little memorial (the granite slab in front of the gun is now part of that), and the gun has been moved North 20m to its own individual patch and is now no longer right in front of the window. A much nicer spot for caching.
Having looked around the new memorial and checked out the gun (cant believe they painted over so many of the markings), I was fortunate to find the cache in the first spot I checked, and was able to grab it and retreat to the new seats to sign, whilst some smokers from the Wedding reception came out. After they were gone, I was able to easily replace the cache, and admire the view. This has to be amongst one of the nicest views within the surrounds of Adelaide.

Cheers
The coordinates need correcting as the gun has moved (and thus the cache) since publication.
You could try the attached coordinates from an old log, although I'm not sure whether they are for the cache position of just the gun in general.
I would've grabbed new coordinates, but didn't realise until later that the coordinates were wrong.
Cheers

Found after dropping my partner off to work, few people walking by, had to be stealthy and pulled out the old camera once or twice, ended up having the RSL secretary walk past and gave me a few gun facts.
TFTC SL TNLN.
PS Could do with a new magnet, the current one only just holds the cache to the gun.

Found on the way to the beach with EsromL and friend after a short search. TFTC
Spent some time on this one without any luck. Some cachers (esroml and e.gregory1 made the find after us on same day) Bugger!

It seems the cache wasn't missing after all, I just seem to have missed all the found logs while on my travels.
I have been here before when the gun was in its original position but could not
look then on account of RSL muggles.
No problems today and found in company, revealing a cache that was thought of of missing.
obviously not
Thanks

The gun has moved. It is no longer at the location shown in the cache image. It is now around 9m north. If you need them the new coords are S35° 08.796 E138° 28.050, although you should have no worries with seeing the new location. The cache was replaced and signed. Same hide and hint as last time.
After signing the replacement log with Liz and Bruce, Ma7:7hew & Someuser on a Saturday South Blitz we arrived to see the gun and whole area under restoration behind some bunting. Bruce made a bee line for the RSL workers who actually took him inside the RSL for a while. Then to our amazment they both return and Bruce has the original cache in his hand. The RSL workers had found it while working on the reatoration and asked where the cache was to be placed saying they would put it back for us when the gun had been restored and then went on to tell us the story about where the gun was used. Great history, great story for the find and log and of course a great bunch of blokes.
The cache should now be back in action as the guys said the area would be ready for this years ANZAC day celebrations. By the way we were told this particular gun was used in in Torbruk and Alamein in WWII.

Well this one was funny. Ma7:7hew has already told the story about the RSL having the original cache in an office while the Gun was being restored. They were quite surprised to find it they told us as they had no idea it was there. Bruce (Liz and Bruce) learned a bit about the gun from the RSL guy before we all signed the original log and he agreed to replace it after Anzac Day. What a champ!
Yes Keith we went to the gun to replace the missing cache but as noted in the two previous logs the original cache was still ok only not on the gun. At least the RSL don't mind it being there and said they would replace after they do their maintenance to the gun. Thanks WanderingAus.
Visited with Liz and Bruce, Southern Cross Caching & Someuser on a Southern Vales Blitz. With the landscaping and restoration of the gun going on, it had been moved several metres north of the location pictured. Bruce had been commissioned to replace the cache, but there were RSL members and contractors working here when we arrived. We went ahead and asked for permission to place the new cache, and they brought out the original container! It was agreed that getting our names in the original log book was worth a smiley. We also learned that this gun was used in Alamein in WWII.
The works will be complete in time for ANZAC Day, and the kind folks at the RSL will then put the cache back in place for us, so it be available again after the 25th.

Seems to have gone missing, will contact local maintainer to see what can be done.
Three cachers. +16,000 finds between us. One of us had already found the cache.

I hunted in every spot that I could find for about 20 minutes and in the end I saw a face peering out at me through the window - place was closed and no cars in the car park.
There has been some work been done in the area so maybe it has gone missing.

We looked everywhere, and in all the spidey spots... but no. I shall see if someone else finds it before I have another nosey.
Lot easier than my nemisis cache in Norwood. Found before day or snorkelling on the reef in 40 degree heat.
Nice spot - thanks for the cache!

Found with Featherwaite. Had a nice view of the sea after finding the cache. TFTC!
Found it relatively quickly, considering the possibilities and previous experience with these things! Thanks for the cache WanderingAus.
Didn't have to put my hands anywhere near any spiders, cobwebs, or sharp bits, just bent over and spotted the cache. All quite easy really.
Even with the place open there wasn't anyoen around, and those that were passing in the car only had the beach on their mind.
Our last find along the coast for the day, now to head to McLaren vale for a few caches.
