I drove past the other day and... Oh, the shelter's gone. A piece of local history destroyed forever. I can only assume the cache has gone with it and this listing will have to be archived.
Happy Caching.

Might want to check & see if this cache is okay.
They have been taking the fence down & burning off.
I couldn't see the shelter, so I hope it's still there.

Another balmy autumn night, another night caching escapade. This time with roguewatermelon and Mogni. No ladies first this time, first into the shelter and an easy find. TFTC.
My first geocache in australia, i love it to stay here and enjoy this wonderful country. Thanks, Robse2010
Me and the kids are definately getting braver, or stupider as we near the end of our first week living in Oz - as the previous log says - I was more than a little aware of what could be lurking here. Thankfully, there was nothing there except a lovely cache box. What a great story, a piece of history! Thanks for the cache.
Came through on a stinking hot summer day, half expected to get suspicious glances from firebug scouts but had a clear patch in the traffic. Waist-high grass still there, perfect reptile habitat... As I reached for the cache I realized I probably shouldn't be doing this...
No snakes, got out quick.
Thanks for a low muggle bus stop cache.

A nice quick find. The container will stay nice and dry. T: Geocoin L: Nothing TFTC
I have driven past here quite a few times and never noticed this spot before! Previous loggers are right about this being a busy road too - though I am pretty sure no one spotted what I was up to! TFTC
An easy driveby. i parked on altmanns st and crossed the road. once in, despite being on a busy road, you can't be seen. TNLN
Pass this location all the time, finaly stopped to find the cache! Left a stone egg.
Have driven past this shelter so many times so I knew where to look, the exact location of the container had me baffled for a bit.
Took Bonobo the Monkey, will be taking him to Monarto Zoo next month
Replaced by a keyring Penguin.

A busy stretch of road so we had to time our crossing of the road. Once at GZ the find was made easily enough and then it was time to cross back over the road.

TFTC. Nice easy find. Said hello to the gnome who seems to be camped there at the moment.
An easy find, and the second time today that a Gnome helped us. I hadn't read up on the travelling Gnomes, so I signed his log book and left him there.
Thanks for takeing us to the shed. Reminds me of my school days in the Riverland.

Interesting! Wonder what this was for originally... Nice area and good farmland around these parts. An easy find. Took Wilma, left Army Dude.
What a lovely autumn day to be out caching.
Ingrid was enjoying photographing the leaves on the trees and vines as they put on their display.
She even knows a member of the Altmann family whose father or grandfather or someone would have used this shelter.
Left a TB, and also a gnome that was part of the geocaching.com.au travel race over summer.

Before arriving at this site, we had visions of having to walk through shoulder height grass being fearful of joe blakes being felt underfoot. Once at GZ our fears were allayed as access was quite easy and a quick find was possible. TFTC d altmann.
nice bit of history... now when suffering up this hill on my bike I will see it and think about having a sleep! Took Thorny Devil TB, took marble and bubbles, Left flinstone figure and little Indian. TFTC

First for the day and it's always good to start with a find !
Missed this one last time we were down here (even drove right past).
It would be pretty cramped in there with 9 kids waiting for the bus !
TNLNSL.
Thanks for showing us this sturdy piece of history D Altmann.

Did some caching on our way from the Barossa down to Strathalbyn & then across to Adelaide for a couple of christmas get togethers. A quick & easy find. SL TNLN TFTC Find #495
One of our cache finds with visiting geocaching team from Darwin, Gibbo003. An enjoyable cache and an enjoyable though wet day out in the hills. Had to use some stealth because there were road workers nearby. TNLN. Thanks d altmann
Nice easy drive by with Liz and Bruce. It was a little busy with road works going on at this cache but we were able to slip into the shelter while the workers were looking the other way. Thanks altmann for the cache and the hunt.
It was a nice sunny Sept day so we set off on our bikes in search of Caches.....WE WISH!
Cold, blowing & wet! But we still went & found some good new spots.
Thanks for the great cache!

A nice quick drive by find today on a short interlude to work.

Have had this cache on the radar for a long time and today was the day to get it done.
Nice cache in a nice setting.

A good find on the road to Woodside. The aforementioned shed has kept reasonably well but it makes me think that people were a bit shorter those days as I kept on hitting my head on the roof. Took a thong and left quit for life badge. Tftc.
I'm surprised that nobody has noticed the link between the road my father lived on and my team name...
Easily found the location, followed the little footpath into the shelter, (perhaps made by people waiting for the bus?) and grabbed the cache.
We enjoy caches with a bit of local history and wondered how many people race past without wondering what the abandoned shelter was. A bit of history we wouldn't have known about but for caching!
