Today out and about on 166 of 183 days to get my daily cacher Sapphire Using my Garmin Etrex 22X and MacBook Air!Thanks for the cacheTFTC
Plans were made for the team to get back together to finish the on your bike series and whatever other series peaked our fancy. We organised it to happen after the Canberra Mega and travel in a convoy back to SA, safety in numbers they say. Our convoy consisted of feathertop, GoodLook, LB, Rapidlywild and us then meeting up in Mildura with The Drovers. After a big day on the trails yesterday today we finished off the remaining On your Bike series then we headed onto this NVRATHM series. Logs were all stamped with "The Mob". We had awesome weather for the journey and all caches were found in good order. After stopping in Sedan for lunch we then split off from the others. Our team now consisted of us, Rapidlywild and feathertop to go and hit the Fruit Loop series. Thanks for the hide firesafe and thanks for a fun adventure Rapidlywild.
Plans have been in place for a little while now about a convoy from the Canberra Mega to head over to SA and finish off what currently stands of the On Your Bike series. Today being day 3 of the trip away, todays convoy consisted of GoodLook, TheDame, feathertop, LB, The Drovers, FurfacesLL and myself. With a big hit on the On Your Bike caches yesterday, we set off this morning to hit the remaining On Your Bike caches and then we headed over to the NVRATHM series. All logs have been stamped with "The Mob" stamp representing the 7 teams who started the series together, so finished it together.NVRATHM series completed, so we made our way into Sedan for some lunch. As we followed the GPS to the next cache, we got our names into this one, and onward we went. Thanks for the cache placement and maintenance firesafe and thanks FurfacesLL for another fun trip away
After finishing the bikes and the nvrtham series this morning our group lunched in Sedan. We signed the logs as the mob. The mob members for this cache were Rapidlywild, FurfacesLL and myself.Police tape hete, must have been a murder....I think I am signed in as FT.Thanks Firesafe
With the big targets finished, we headed out today to wander around an area that we had been passing through to get to our targets. There was also a trail nearby that we had also solved. Everything looked for was found. Thanks to the CO's for the caches.#9292
After a week of caching around Adelaide incorporating The Great Leap Forward event, HansandLinda, MeandDe and I moved camp to Sedan to capture some more targeted caches. HansandLinda & I tackled this one today. Another great day for caching. TFTC firesafe
TFTC firesafe your cache Sedan Broken Dreams that we found today. The geo-vehicle was picked up yesterday afternoon all good to go the mechanic assured us. Out for the day with the JAMS collecting caches here and there. It was foggy and it was fresh. There where kangaroos and a pub to eat lunch at.

This cache was found as part of a JAMS plus a travellinbee caching day around Sedan. My highlight was having lunch at the Sedan Hotel which I had never been inside of before. TFTC
The JAMS team plus Mrs travellinbees had planned a day out north starting with a CITO then the firemans helmet and various other caches that we passed along the way. We had it all today, thick fog, sheep and lambs running across roads right in front of us, kangaroos and lots of fallen trees and branches. We did stop for a nice lunch at the Sedan pub and met up with honeysucker while we were there. A fun day and a lovely drive.
We were making our way around the Sedan area cleaning out all the unfound caches after a nice lunch at the pub. [^]
Thanks for the cache firesafe.

quick find while clearing the back roads and surrounds after doing the nearby " helmet " geo art.
All logs where stamped or written as " JAMS " ( JJ52, Allister W, Mogni, and Sir_spectre ) plus Travellinbees for this trip. The target for this trip was to get a wherigo cache on this calendar day for me and do the NVRATHM series ( helmet geoart ). On the way near the geo art there we were driving only 30 kms due to fog and literally the groups of sheep on the road. While doing the geo art the fog lifted and it was cold but dry. After the geo art a nice pub lunch at Sedan was had then we went and found some of the local caches. The roads around Sedan where mostly dry with a few wet patches but able to still drive down them. We found a total of 23 trees down over the road and only 3 that we could drive around, all the rest i had to drag, roll, move off the road. Of those 19 trees, 4 i had to break in to pieces to lessen the weight to get them off the road. This really slowed the find count down and made it I longer than than expected but still a good day out. Over 100 caches found today including 1 adventure lab completed.

I spent the weekend in Swan Reach visiting family and helping with a bit of cleanup after the recent floods.
I left a little time to grab a couple of caches on the way back to Adelaide.
The dirt roads were dry so my 2wd car managed the area ok.
All caches found without problems.
Thanks for the cache Team Firesafe.

Day 17 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
After our big day of finishing off the Bike wherigoes yesterday, we needed to head further afield from Loxton to find a nice number of caches. We found the fruit loops and anything around that suited us. fitzy_1965, albida33 & I signed as MAF or FAM to save room.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 17. Today we headed out early to get the Fruit Loop series and then to cache around Cambrai and Sedan as we thought that was enough for today after our huge day yesterday. We got to do the ferry ride at Swan Reach twice which we always enjoy This was the next find of the day, and it was a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.
Thanks Team Firesafe !!

After three rather intense days of caching, focussing on the amazing "On Your Bike" geo-art, today we took the opportunity to enjoy the Murraylands in the company of fellow Victorians & caching companions - Suscoe.
Another fascinating history lesson.
Thanks firesafe for placing caches in interesting locations.

You probably can't guess who made this find whilst someone was taking photos, lol. Nice quick find before we went and had a quick peak into the building. Thanks for the cache.
Papi4506 found the cache whilst I was taking more photos. This building has a ceiling that I haven't seen before. Curious to know the purpose? Thanks for the cache and bringing us here.
A pleasant drive in the country today after my work day had finished. Thanks for bringing us here and showing us this building. It's incredible what people could do with what we'd consider almost nothing.

There is a group of us gathering in Sedan to make a start on the On Your Bike Series as we have arrived first and there is no sign of the others arriving we decided to head out from camp and find some of the many available caches in the area. All the caches we attempted were found and signed. Any that needed containers or logs repalcing we did this. SL TFTC
Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 17. The next phase of my journey is underway. I was with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 7 in the River land. As we had accomplished the On your Bike caches, the others headed back east to stop at Mildura for the paddle steamer caches, but I am based in Adelaide at the moment, so could not go. This was my last day up North, and I spent it around Sedan tackling the caches in that region, before heading back to Adelaide stopping for some Labs along the way.
This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.
Thanks for the cache firesafe

Today I headed up to Sedan and surrounds to get some numbers to help me reach my target of 13000 for the year. I also needed a multi for my calendar and there were plenty to choose from up here.
It was a great day for caching, blue skies and sunshine but not too hot, although I did get a sunburnt arm through the car window.
Lots of great caches and didn’t see any snakes which was great.
All up 48 finds for the day. Thanks to all the CO for their efforts really enjoyed my caching today.

After packing up this morning, we headed off with ilook4geo to add some more caches to the tally for the day. This one was a nice quick and easy find and all was put back into place after the log had been initialed to represent both names.
Many thanks go to Team Firesafe for adding this cache to the game. There are so many ruins to be seen around the countryside.

Out on a caching hunt today, along with goingplaces2, and we covered quite a bit of distance as well as finding a good number of caches. All the logs were good and we signed each one. Old buildings are all around this area. TFTC.
Heading down the dry weather track to do the Route 66 and ET series. A prime example of how tough were the times back then. Thanks firesafe
The dry stone walls in the area area spectacular. Nice little hide.
What a fabulous day out...so fabulous that we stamped 98% of the logs as "Fabulous Randoms" (the others we wrote our names).
We completed 3 OTD series, picked up the tribute series to the US iconic trails (ET Highway & Route 66) and stopped to find a number of other random caches including ones with high fav points or interesting D/Ts. Over 160 finds - it was worth the 5am start (to try and beat the heat).
Thanks so much for the cache firesafe! [^]

A decision about a day of caching with Goodlook was orgained in the not so distant past to clean up some caches around swan reach and murray bridge.
A successful with no DNF’s and 165 caches finds, completing 3 on this date (OTD) series and some of the fruit loop with a few trads along the way.
Majority if the log books were stamped with FABULOUS RAMDOMS and 5 or 6 we wrote our individual caching names in.

Out on the 5 day geocaching in the Blanchetown region and today I ventured down to Sedan rambrai and the back to Swan Reach and back to base on the eastern side of the Murray. I found 24 in todays run including 2 PT's close to Sedan. Most caches found were in Good nick but some of the PT ones were cracked and broken and could do with some attention. Have found a few these caches now it is a shame that the near by building that the caches refer to have been leftto ruin. TFTC
Nice location. Although history says no surface water there must be a little bit as the log is damp. TFTC
Me and Ahomburg have now hit the road on the journey back home. After attending the red centre experience event in Alice springs.
What an amazing trip this has been.
The first stop on the way home was kings Canyon.
Second stop will be Coober Pedy.
Third stop is Woomera.
Forth stop ? Heading for a FTF and staying in a cabin to get out of the bad weather.
Fifth stop. Swan Reach.
Sixth stop. Gawler.

Thoroughly enjoying a few days in the area before the Mega officially starts, despite the intermittent rain. Took this one day out of seeing the area via caching to do a numbers run along the power trails. We joined up with Albida 33 and Sol de Lune, and generally signed the logs as W.A.S. We found all that we sought, and called it a day at 200 and then went to the Mega site to set up camp.
Lots of effort in laying and maintaining this PT. The only downside was the prevalence of weeds and seeds, that sadly cachers are helping spread.
Thanks firesafe for the series.

Many apologies for the generic logs but if I don't do this they won't be logged for ages and will be no better than generic anyway.
Found while making our way to Monash for a couple of night after 4 nights on Yorke Peninsula. Of course this was via Murray Bridge which is the only way a committed (should be) cacher would go isn't it?
Thanks for the cache firesafe and your efforts.

Taking advantage of the cooler weather, we headed out to do a days caching around the Sedan - Towitta area. This was a nice quick find on a beautiful day. I love these old buildings, and can imagine the lifes of the occupants of the time. The container was cracked and unfortunately did not have a suitable replacement. TFTC

Headed towards Swan reach but we never made it and headed back home after doing the August series.
It as a great day out doing lots of great country caches and we came home with 61 finds.

Glad to read your history as we commented today on al the ruins we kept seeing.
Had a funny experience at this one.
For some reason I hadnt realised this one was here and I was driving to the first route 66 cache.
As we drove past I hit the brakes and excaimed "I just saw a cache"
I had caught a glimpse of it out the corner of my eye as I drove past.
Obviously in very switched on cacher mode today.

Camping at Towitta Park for the weekend so grabbed a few caches this afternoon. Love the old ruins and Sedan area seems to have an abundance of them with their own unique story to tell. TFTC firesafe
While camping at nearby Towitta Park, we thought we would spend a couple of hours out caching. There were so many to choose from for the afternoon so we thought we would just plan a ring route to collect as many as possible.
Nice easy find and keeping a good eye out for snakes. None today thankfully
Lovely ruins. There are so many out and around here must have been a thriving community at some stage

Thanks for the cache firesafe

It must have been a tough place to live without water. Good for geocaches though TFTC fresafe.
Quick road side find & took some photos of the ruin too.

Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega
Camped currently at Big Bend, with a beautiful day forecast we had dragged out the inflatable 2man boat and pumped her up. With that little adventure under our belt it was off to see what else was out int he big wide world.
Great afternoon caching and we found far more caches than we had anticipated. [^]
We got back to the caravan after dark.
Thanks for helping us explore the local area.

This was a very quick find as the hide was seen clearly from the car as we pulled up. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks for the cache firesafe.
TFTC. Found on a slightly miserable day (drizzling rain) with imnotlostimexploring (my brother). Had a great day caching out near Sedan and Moculta. Thanks for bringing me out here.
Found It!
Nice little spot, bit of a shame the cache is PM only
TFTC anyway

Camped at Black Hill reserve, in a very quite spot.
Some rain today, but we still managed to find a few caches in our travels, around the area.
We visited some amazing places, and saw some beautiful sites, as we drove along a section
of the Murray River. This cache was found quickly, and in good condition.
Many thanks for the hunt today, firesafe.
