National park is very nice, really colorfull in the spring time. Skywalk was very windy and cold today. Only the bad today was my DNF.
We were disappointed not to find the cache as it would have been an apt reward for the effort made to get there! Although the climb to the top was a reward in itself.
We met BellaMin from Germany (and her cousin on a special geocaching holiday) and they had also searched thoroughly for it. If it is there it needs a note from the CO after so many DNFs. If you don't want to maintain it then hand it to someone else! I am sorry Cruznoz however we and BellaMin were very disappointed not to find a cache in such a significant location.

I am only adding this as there is 6 dnfs before us. We caught up with two other fellow geocachers and after an extensive 40 minute search with six pairs of eyes.... in a high muggle zone which has been well trampled on...i suspect it is MIA
Plenty of DNF before us, lots of muggles around and the area well tramp on. The hint is only hinting that it could be anywhere (or not). So DNF from us. Nice views though!
Like everyone else, we had a look, but grounds and plants etc were all rather damp and uninviting to search for too long. Brilliant location nonetheless, and the views were certainly worth the effort to get there.
Found a place where the cache must have been. But it's nothing there! It's gone or someone put it somewhere else.
Tramped all over the area and could not find. Five very disappointed kids. Enjoyed the views and glad we went to the top.
Two of us had a good look for this one but couldn't find it. Looks like there has been a bit of searching going on in the area the bush is trampled and logs moved in a 15 meter radius.
Tftc! So glad we decided to head out to the Porongurups today !! Had no idea if the climb we faced and our bodies will no doubt remind us again tomorrow! Wow! What a reward at the top though! Incredible! Was so overwhelmed by the view almost forgot about the cache!!
On me unplanned tour of the Porongurups (yep !! If took a wrong turn somewhere on the way to somewhere else ... again), I parked the geomobile in the shady carpark.
Hmmm !! What on Earth is a Sky Walk ??
I was here for a walk up Castle Rock, not to visit a Sky Walk
So off I plodded, expecting a gently sloping bitumen pathway to the top and possibly even a moving walkway or two
Nup !! This was a steep, sometimes rocky, bush walking track [^]
2.2kms to the Sky Walk
It was rather warm and humid this morning in the Porongurups and I was soon a ball of sweat, charging up the hill.
And I was soon at GZ, surrounded by some interesting lumps of granite that would need some exploring after I found the cache
Finding the cache took a few minutes.
Reference to the cache notes didn't help
Delete all reference to 'bush'
Look for the suspicious pile of wood !!
With the cache found, I headed to the top and found out what a Sky Walk was.
Aaaarggh !! What an ugly blemish on the landscape [:o]
"Let's try it out anyway"
OK !! That was fun
Ugly blemish on the landscape ...
... but fun
On the way back down the hill I passed the inevitable touristas struggling up the hill to find the Sky Walk.
Few had any water with them, some were wearing thongs on the feet [:o]
I doubt many of them realised what bush walking is

Picked a quiet moment after I climbed to to the top...wow, spectacular! Thanks! J![m]^^'/
Sorry, we forgot the log. During our 4-week trip through Western Australia we had a great time there and we also found a couple of caches along the route. We stopped here too to search and grab this caches. Fabulous area and well worth a visit. Very nice and beautiful geocaching site. Thanks for hiding this cache in this stunning area and greetings from Germany!

Down south for the New Year break to spend some time camping in the Stirling Range and perhaps a day or two in Albany.
We camped overnight close to Mt Trio but it was ridiculously hot (about 38C) so we decided to head for the coast for the day instead of sweating it out with the flies in camp. On our way we decided to stop by the Porongorups to check out the Granite Skywalk, which was not here last time I was in the region about 15 years ago, but had heard much about and had been on my bucket list for quite a while. However I hadn't realised it was quite a hike to the top and we perhaps would have tackled it another time given the heat, but we're not afraid of a challenge so loaded up on H2O and headed for the top. Fortunately there was a lovely cool breeze ready to relieve us once we got to GZ, found the cache pretty easily and stealthily got the log signed between packs of muggles making their way up.
We did brave the ladder and make it all the way to the top. I'm not particularly fond of heights, but I wasn't about to miss out given that we'd already come all this way. The engineering involved with the Skywalk is just about as impressive as the view, which was absolutely amazing. We could see all the way down to the coast and then back up again to the Stirling mountains about 40km north. It was definitely well worth the hike and I encourage any geocacher to make the effort to get up here. Cheers, Cruznoz and TFTC!

What a great hike here and espescially we liked the climbing between the rocks! of course we were also looking for this box and found it very quick! Thanks for hiding at such a beautiful place! Cheers from the Swiss cachers
Away for a few days of hiking in the Porongurup National Park and of course to locate caches along the way. A lovely walk to the summit though the weather kept changing at it was so gusty. I braved the extreme wind gusts and climbed up to the Skywalk for a brief look at the view, overcoming my fear of heights. We sheltered from the rain under the large granite boulders at the top near Balancing Rock and it also rained for part of our descent.

Have been up to castle rock on numerous occasions before taking up caching! This was the easiest hike of the day after doing Mt Talyuberlup, Mt Hassell and Mt Toolbranup! Quick find at gz! TFTC!
We had a nice hike to the summit. The end is hard but worth it. TFTC The Shredder and Skyryser
Climbing the summit with Skyryser. On the way down we did this cache. TFTC The-Shredder
What an awesome place. The walk was just OK, the ladder was fine, but getting from the Balancing Rock to the ladder was rather a challenge as legs are short and knees don't like bending. Would never have come up here except for the cache. Thanks for placing this cache.
Found it! An awesome walk! Unfortunately having one arm in a sling meant I couldn't climb the ladder. Hubby went up
What an amazing climb. Cache is intact but quite wet. Log will need replacing as it is full and wet. TFTC
Great walk and great view to reward when at the top. Bit scary coming down the ladder. We got to cache, cave and climb all in one outing. Good fun. TFTC.
Found back in May but just found hadn't logged it. Great views and great walk. TFTC
Went for a walk up top as we hadn't been here since the new skybridge went in. Spectacular views as usual and love the new set up. The walk up is longer since they moved the carpark but a good leg warmer for the day. The cache was exposed and on its side and wet. A little care returning may help some of the water issues. We scribed our name on the back of the wet log book. We didn't bring spares up on the walk so couldn't repair. Thanks for the cache.
What a great spot. We headed off early in the morning and had the place to ourselves, magic! Past the crowds on our way back down.
A nice not too long hike to reach the summit and a super breathtaking, windy view from the skywalk.

Headed out today from albany with the family and had this attraction on our list.
Wife and eldest son stayed down for the art expo while the younger two and I made the trek up.
Magnificent views from up here and the kids had a ball cling the rocks and the challenge to get to the top.
The cache was found quickly. Maybe the next cacher could being s new notebook and ziplock bag for it though. Otherwise, all is good.

Found this one after we had queued up to go to the granite skywalk. This is a great tourist spot and great development for the Porongurups. The walk was very popular. Probably needs a loop up and down i.e. two ladders to cope with all the hordes on days like today. Easy find next to the track. TFTC Cruznoz.
Looked at the weather and decided that a walk in the Porongurup's would be a great way to spend a few hours today. There were a number of caches here that were still on our 'to do' list. Castle Rock was decided on and away we went. On arriving, there were a few cars in the car park, but not too busy, a bonus for not going on a weekend. We enjoyed the climb up to the rock and it was a beautiful view from the sky walk. Cache was an easy find and it was a bonus for the walk up. Thanks Cruznoz for bringing us back here......think the last time was about 20 years ago, and thanks for the cache.
Found on a morning walk by Mrs Off_Track. Place 'thing one and thing two' inside.
It was a lovely day for a hike. It wasn't too hot and humid. The track was a bit steep in parts, but definitely worth the 3.5 terrain.
Loved the view and enjoyed waving at the chopper doing joy flights from the winery.

We already gave up but Bollie kept going and found it in no time!! Great views
A very nice walk. Started at 0930 in the morning up the hill. Weather was fine and temperatures just ok for such a tour. 40 minutes later we stood on top of this hill with an impressive formation of stones. I wished I had my climbing gear with me...
Thanks for bringing us to this great location. This is to be our first peak in 2015, more to come today (and surely at home, when spring is on).

Woohoo !!! Found it !!! Awesome views from the top , especially on the new skywalk. Great climb and workout
Found it after enjoying the views from the summit. Brilliant! Thanks for the cache!
[Teal] As we head from town to town as part of our "Purposeful Meander around Oz" the Rats and the Mini Rats found this cache. Dad did most of the hard work here and the detail of our find can be found in the Rats log. Sorry for the duplicate log but it takes nothing away from the find.
This was alot of hard work but the skyway was unreal
Thanks for showing us this spot on our trip.

What a great spot. We hiked up here to check out the new skywalk. This was a great adrenalin rush the kids as they climbed the ladders and walked on air.
Coming back down we quickly had this one in hand after the kids had tried to push the balncing rock over.
Thanks for being part of our great adventure.

Time: 11 36 AM
We left Denmark this morning and drove to Albany via Mount Barker.
During the day, between seeing the sights, we found 11 caches of which this was the 5th.
What a climb, I'm getting too old for this, but least I get in for half price.
A magnificent place for a cache and it get a fav point for that.
People should not take the hint too literally.
Try looking for something beside a fireside sized log, under a couple of arm sized branches.
Thanks for placing this cache Cruznoz

Found a few months ago with a very dear friend... Will always remember this day. Will have to go up there again to fill in the log book though.
Wow! What a beautiful spot for a cache. Perfect log nearby to rest your legs after a big climb! Castle Rock was teeming with muggles being a long weekend Monday and our GPS batteries were running low, but geokid extraordinare managed to locate the cache just as we were about to give up. Sky Walk was incredible, a must see! TFTC.
We walked from our holiday chalet to the entrance path then made our way up up up to this fantastic location. A very tiring but enjoyable walk up by all the Clarke family. We found the cache after a bit of a search and signed the log and electronically logged at the cache. Then scrambled the rest of the way to Castle Rock and realised our log did not do this wonderful location justice hence this update . What a absolutely awesome place. The balancing rock is just bizarre and amazing. Then the "courageous" climb around the rock and up the ladder rewards you with the most fabulous view. You quite literally feel on top of the world. This is a really special location. Thank you so much for the cache. This was a most memorable day. Next day Bluff Knoll

Searched before we headed for the summit... 15mins later we found it, used the hint... Not the "large log" I expected but yay, more smiles were had on the summit - OMG WOW!!! T F T C
Found this cache on my round the south west tour, my second summit of the day at 5pm, What a day, Phew.

What a fantastic location, and how good is the skywalk! The walk up is quite strenuous, but all the pain falls away when you walk out onto the suspended viewing walk. Not for the faint hearted, but despite the cloud, misty rain and poor conditions we loved it. And just think, all for the price of a National Parks Pass. $12 for a carload. Well worth every cent.
We did get the cache, with the added bonus of not getting wet. Feel sorry for those setting out when we arrived back, they will be very lucky not to get drenched.

Traveled down to Albany and the Stirling ranges area with a mate at Easter, did this cache as part of a whole heap. Great way to see the fantastic areas on show. Good to see some really interesting areas hidden away.

Headed south for a relaxing road trip with the Western Patrol Club and a mate. We stayed at Cheynes Beach before heading across to West Cape Howe and then into the Stirling Ranges for our last few nights. Beautiful coast line, awesome hills, great fishing, and some good 4wding. Gotta love this state of ours.

Tftc, beautiful day to walk up to castle point, had a great time cheers for the find,
Arrived quite early to climb the mountain, but it became very busy later. It was a really nice day, maybe a little bit too warm for going uphill. Scenic views from the top, thanks for the adventure.
Wow that was worth it! Easy find once the muffles past. Left a trackable. Also "Donatelife" tag to talk with your family. TFTC

What a spectacular view and definitely worth the hike. We were quite late today and therefore all muggles already have left the location. So we weren't disturbed while we logged the cache.

A great location. It took us a bit longer than I expected to get to but the views are well worth it. I had to grab this one on the way back as it was pretty busy up here today and there was somebody taking a break right at GZ.
