Alice in Wonderland is one of my favourites so I sat and solved this puzzle. We drove up to find the hide today only to find that the area has been fenced off and people are working on the area. The cache may need to be deactivated for a while. Thanks anyway - had lots of fun solving the puzzle and very happy when the GeoChecker confirmed our results. I am on holidays for Canberra for a week, staying at Glenelg so will have to wait a while to come back and claim this one. Thanks anyway Smile

Jetty has been completely redone, cache is gone and not replaceable.

Fail

Either the Walrus included some geocache seasoning in his oyster soup, or the carpenter hid it away far too cleverly for my ageing eyes to spy.

Bummer...

A beautiful spot for the cache which was found quickly. The extraction of the log however proved a little more difficult. Thanks MtnLioness.

The sun was shining on the sea,
The waves were sparkling bright,
We did our very best to find
A cache that's out of sight
This was not odd at all because
Those rarely are forthright.

The Marble and La Kedi
Were walking close at hand
No tears they shed, despite the fact
GZ might be all sand
For close to where the treasure lay,
Not a soul did stand.

Strong wind whipped about them both
The kites and planes did fly,
The fishermen and surfers, though
Never did draw nigh,
The pair of secret seekers here
At last the cache did spy!

A quick extraction followed then,
Container but not log,
Which remained stuck in its lair
As if mired in a bog.
Implements were brought to bear
Until it did unclog.

With signature ensconced within
The cache hide was replaced
And sauntering back toward the car
The two felt rather graced
To have found such a tricky hide
With very little haste.

It was a great day to head down to LeFevre Peninsula and try and clear the map and I nearly did. There were some that required some walking and others that were park and grabs, but plenty of variety. Smile

It is all to do with the right elevation - also someone caught a shark while I was signing the log. TFTC. Big Grin

Nice location but I'm afraid to say I had no luck today. We couldn't spend too much time looking so will have to try again some day.

Out for a morning stroll solved this one a couple of nights ago. Quick find with geopooch and geobro. Love this poem and the cartoon always goes through my brain when i hear it. TFTC

I arrived at GZ to find the Walrus and the Carpenter resting and deep in conversation. A messaged the CO to find out how I should lure a Walrus away from the location (hoping that the Carpenter would follow). She suggested 'oysters'!
How ridiculous!! How the hell is a walrus going to shuck an oyster?? Not long after they moved on but I still had to endure many passersby before I could lay my hands on the cache. TFTC MtnLioness.

I read this rhyme some years ago,
And most of it forgot;
The puzzle brought it back to me,
And told me of a spot--
Where I might find a geocache,
To complete this poetic plot Smile

The bike was humming merrily,
Today was the day to chase;
I couldn't pedal fast enough,
To wobble to the place--
And look between the muggle's feet,
On my quest for a cache Razz

"The time has come," I thought aloud,
"To look at many things:
Of wood--and steel--and seating backs--
Of handrails--and rings"--
The muggle crowd did not abate--
As I hoped for some sightings."

As look I did the day wore on,
The find it took a while,
A fizzy cola seemed to help,
And added to my style -- Razz
By and by the cache was found,
Now I could sit and smile Smile

Loved the container Wink

A delightful, well-thought out cache and awesome camo; talk about hiding in plain sight Smile Lovely stuff MtnLioness, thank you.
No pen to sign the log with, so I took a picture instead.

Solved this ages ago, and it never seemed to get from gsak to gps!
Down this way chasing a big multi, and stopped by..
Great cache container and cammo, blends in well.

I had looked at this a while ago, got some coords that seemed almost right, but couldn't quite pinpoint my mistake. Re-did the puzzle and my friend helped find my one silly error! Headed up this way through the roadworks and out into the wind to find this nicely hidden cache surprisingly easily. This set us up for a pleasant caching afternoon. Thanks MtnLioness Cool

Completed the puzzle a while ago, and finally got the opportunity to visit the cache. Despite the wild and windy weather, there were still plenty of people about in the afternoon. However, cache was located and retrieved quickly. Took it away to sign and was able to replace it without being noticed. A great hide! Thanks MtnLioness for the cache.

You'll never guess ... YEP! I found it Smile. Very clever - I actually said those words OUT LOUD as I picked it up Big Grin. I was on an EARLY morning maintenance run and had strayed close to GZ and thought it was time I tried again - and it was not was I was expecting! Lovely job. This cache is no longer chilli-free LOL. Very cool hiding spot!

I kept this puzzle cache to do together with the 10y old GeoSon and tonight was the night to solve it. GZ as expected was packed (what do you expect on a 34C Friday night?) and we were fully prepared to just locate the cache and not sign it. But the beauty of kids is that they get away with forms of activity that would look very sus for adults. After a 10 minute search we located the brilliant camo and took it to a quiet spot for signing. I wonder how many people have passed this spot, blissfully unaware.
Thanks for the great Cache!

Found after the Beach Dwellers 1/1/11 @ 11.11 am Event cache. Enjoyed solving the puzzle and the final location was a doozie! Luckily there were breaks in the local 'traffic'. Thanks for a great cache MtnLioness!

Our fourth cache after catching a train to Grange.

Worked out the puzzle a couple of nights ago in preparation for today.
Went for a stroll after dropping the little one at school.
Found the cache no probs.
Awesome hide. A real treat to find caches like this that someone has put so much time into.
Loved the spot too.
A great cache all round.
Cheers and happy caching.

I gave this one a miss last week but today after visiting my mum I decided to get it done.

The structure was clear when I arrived and I quickly spotted a likely cache.

I checked my surroundings and a few muggles were coming so i waited for them to pass and grabbed it. Wandered off to sign it and when I went to return it a muggle was standing right there. She was looking the wrong way so I quickly replaced it while using a muggle diversion technique.

Never knew of this little story, do now. Thena pleasant walk with family out where I haven't been for 40 yrs, and a fantastic hide. Well done.

03-May-10
Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

But then it stopped and pondered,
Searching both high and low.
It stood a while and wondered
Where a cache would go.

At last it spotted something odd
Twas larger than a tack.
It pulled it out and signed the log
and went galumphing back.

Thanks MtnLioness!

A simple...ish puzzle based on one of my favorite childhood poems, a refreshing final location and a great hide, great fun, and great cache

Found it quickly as it is somewhat similar to a cache in mid-north. Like this sort of hide. TFTC

Solved this when it was first published, but it's taken me a while to get down to grab it. Last time I was in the areas it was offline.
Good, fun puzzle and a fantastic job on the camo!
Thanks MtnLioness

Surveyed the area from below, then moved to a more suitable location.
Quickly found the well engineered cache [^][^].
TNLNSL, then went for a walk further along.
Thanks MtnLioness.

Fine craftsmanship indeed. Very impressive camo. My puzzle coord's were wayward and my brain is now officially scrambled but a little birdy showed me what to look for ... might have struggled otherwise.
Nicely conceived idea!!

06-Mar-10
Finally had the 'aha!' followed by a 'doh!' moment when looking at the puzzle, which in hindsight is actually pretty easy. Made the trip to GZ, then thought about what to look for. Had a fair idea, but it was finally something that looked a little different that gave it away. Very well made, starting to see more and more hides of this type. TFTC.

05-Mar-10
Found on our second visit. Made the mistake of coming the first time on a weekend when there was a surf lifesaving event near GZ. Much less people today.
Loved the cache.

I shall have to make a new one!

Cal has been bugging me for a few weeks now that we don't stop to find caches between home and Mawson Lakes. He even suggested we find a new route, but I'm not sure the 1 hour route via Black Hill would go down well with Sandy.
Missed the notification for this cache, but finally one for us to do on our route after nutting it out. Had never read the poem, but it would fit in nicely with the poetry I've been reading to the kids from the "Bad Book" by Andy Griffiths.
Decided to do the cache on the way to Mawson Lakes and it was beautiful this morning. The tide was in and the ocean flat, but best of all was the 12 dolphins swimming nearby. Headed onto the jetty to get a better view of them all and Cal was mesmerised. A couple of ladies, about to swim to Henley Beach, had to wait until they had moved away from the shore. Regularly see a couple of dolphins swimming, but never such a large pod.
After admiring the dolphins we found the cache (brilliant camo) logged and then decided we should continue on our way Northwards - although it was tempting to call in sick and go home and get the bathers.

P.S Cache could do with a mini stash note, just incase a muggle finds it.

Shall get one of those in there asap, Thanx for the tip C4

With Lava12 for the day. Wow excellent one. Beauty view from GZ. Enjoyed your puzzle. SL. Thanks MtnLioness for organising the cache and hunt.

01-Feb-10
After solving this before coming over here I noticed that it formed a neat little cluster of caches in this area.
I had some dinner at the cafe on the beachfront before heading out along the pier.
Never seen this poem before but I know it well now.
Nice little hide.

01-Feb-10
Accompanied by Everlasting. My two geodaughters did the puzzle for me. Everlasting found it nice and easy while I went to the toilet.
Thanks MtnLioness for the cache. Smile

After been made to sit down and work this out, as I'm not the patient type to do puzzles, an expedition was mounted to the distant shore to seek the carpenter's work. ingenious hide which made me proud, no walrus or tradies but spied a pair of birds on the beach, the type more akin of what I like to watch. TFTC

30-Jan-10

No Walrus seen. No fish seen (though some were trying). No poetry recitals heard. Just a couple who had decided to tie the knot and a third log in a close by book.

Of course I got in their face and took a photo. But they never noticed. Another bloke had a much longer lens than my Nokia.

Love and Kisses. Clear skies so The sun could shine on the sea for the Walrus and the Carpenter as well. [:X][:X][:X][:X][:X]

After lunch is the best time for a stroll. The stroll might include a cache to find. I knew from lunch that I was not first. The Eart of Raw Fish has that honour. Silver to the frog nation.

Loved the location and the hide. The tide was out. No oysters to be seen. Must have been consumed. I thought I had the chicken schnitzel?

Whoops I misread the question. There is nothing at all wrong with question #9.

One good poem deserves another:

The widdly, waddly walrus
has flippery, floppery feet.
He dives in the ocean for dinner
and stands on his noggin to eat.

The wrinkly, crinkly walrus
swims with a debonair splash.
His elegant tusks are of ivory
and he wears a fine walrus mustache.

The thundery, blundery walrus
has a rubbery, blubbery hide.
He puffs up his neck when it's bedtime
and floats fast asleep in the tide.

Surprisingly at 7:24 this morning I found a clean log book! So that must mean a FTF for a fish!

What a lovely puzzle for Oar Stray Leah Day. GZ would be covered in muggles today. I reckon there is one too many _'s at the beginning of line 9.
