#24872. We worked out where to park, and got there Ok. But as we arrived a gate opened indicating a car wanted to come out of its drive. With space tight, Troodles got turned round and into a park, allowing the other car to get out. Short walk to GZ and a quick find. TFTC.
After spending time in the Barossa Valley, StreetWalkerNZ and I drove back to Adelaide this morning as we fly to Sydney tomorrow. With the rental car, we are more flexible than we were on our initial visit when we mainly relied on public transit and walking.A tricky wee puzzle that took a while to nut out, so pleased we were able to make the find today. SW did the honours as I didn't want to put my hands in unseen places. Nice spot for the final. TFTC.
Out for a stroll around the CBD before heading out to dinner.I had some help with the puzzle, but found the container all on my own. Cool structure.
Solved this puzzle a while ago so it was great to convert it to a smiley today. It was a quick find which I didnt expect. Found in the second spot I looked. Thought it would take much longer. Thanks
Out in Adelaide with Brad & Janet, using up some time to chat and pick up some final caches before I fly back to Canberra. Interesting doing the various manipulations here: language, settings, etc. But the tranlation came out in good enough english for me to turn into coordinates. GZ was an interesting spot. Rather rustic!! Anyway, soon, I had found the container and signed the log. TFTC Freddo

6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 5 days in Adlade, we visited the centre and around while following the caches and labs. We resolved some mysteries before our trip. We made some great discoveries and great experiences.Easy to find when we go ton the good spot. But the neighbor's dog barked a lot, fortunately no moggles in the area. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots
Northbound from the city to Mawson Lakes this morning, I had some housekeeping to take care of in the form of solved puzzle clearance. After finding a convenient parking place near GZ, I headed in for a pre-dawn hunt with the phone torch on hand if needed.Thankfully, no torch required as the cache was in hand after a brief scan of GZ, so I moved back to the car for business and returned the cache once I had my name in the log. I don't recall when I solved this one, but I do know it's been a very long time in the corrected coords pile. So, as I made my way slowly to an event where I would spot the CO at the other end of the table, it was nice to have it transformed into a smiley.Cheers Freddo.

I made a plan with AussieGal88 & Peas&CarrotsForever to grab a pole cache in North Adelaide today. However, it turned into a full afternoon grabbing caches.
It was an enjoyable time with lots of chats, walking and laughs.
I had have this one sitting on my map for a while waiting to be found.
Since we were nearby I suggested going to it and trying again after I was muggled out back in October last year.
Today was muggle free and I had safety in numbers to search freely.
We all picked a spot to search and Carrots of Peas&CarrotsForever found the cache.
Cache was signed and returned. All is well here.
Thanks Freddo for this mystery cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3288 on the 23rd of July 2023.
CITO's are a brilliant way to help keep our community area's clean. The Earth is our playing field and we need to protect it!
Always be sure to cache the "leave no trace" way!

A day out caching with AussieGal88 & pineapplegoldy was organised after last night's event.
Having been muggled out from finding this cache previously, Goldy wanted to to return today for another go. Of course we agreed and we all started our search in a different spot. As usual I was being guided by my phone, whereas Carrots follows his geosenses and of coursel he made the find. TFTC Damn Freddo

A very persistent muggle was preventing me from having a go here today.
Most of the time I don't care, I can always return. This muggle however, was in the one spot I didn't want and was getting on my nerves while trying to wait them out.
You win muggle.
Thanks anyway Freddo. Will return another day.

I had solved this puzzle back in September 2018 after receiving some help. Perhaps it was those odd and different characters that scared me off every time I opened up this puzzle, but it was good finally have a solution. I'm not the biggest fan for using these machine ciphers, as it seems like you need the right source in order to make the correct decipher.
This Anzac Day weekend, jesswrigley and I were back in Adelaide whilst attending a wedding. We took the opportunity to catch up with family and friends introducing our newest member of *Team Warren*, and where we could, we visited a few geocaches that I had either missed during my residency, or new geocaches published in the last 1.5 years.
Today, we began our day with a Tardy Mouse event catch-up at Mile End, before jesswrigley caught up with friends in Lightsview. I was then able to find a few geocaches in the vicinity and North Adelaide's park lands, before heading back to our accommodation for the afternoon's wedding plans.
After finding a spot to park for this geocache location, I looked through another set of weird and sunken characters. I had a hunch to what I was looking for, and it was just a matter of time before finding the correct nook of this nicely hidden cache. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Damn Freddo for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We headed into town for a reschedule of the Van Gogh event, so had to track down a cache while we were here. Trying to increase my percentage of mystery caches and I had managed to solve this a while ago. Turned out to be a great walk, thanks
Headed out after I had bagels for lunch with a plan to collect a few caches along the way. The weather was great but the traffic and my ability to get red lights were appalling. Nonetheless the day out was okay with six mystery and one letterbox caches found. Unfortunately a few DNFs along the way as well because of fences, dodgy looking spots, lack of TOTTs, etc.
I'm not sure what part of this puzzle was the most difficult, however I managed to work my way through the various steps to find a GZ that I have driven past hundreds of times. Felt a bit exposed at GZ but the cache was discovered thanks to a spot on clue. TFTC.

Another day out was organised by the JAMMS team targeting kayak caches and some high terrain caches in and around the city with a few others thrown in. A fun day was had and a few weary bodies headed for home after a full day.
We were in the area so decided to stop off here to find this one as well. After lookn a coiuple of wrong spots the cache was found right where the hint indicated.
Thanks for the cache Damn Freddo.

Big day out with the JAMS crew which involved a lot of activity. Today I wore waders for the first time, carried a kayak further than the kayak seemed to go In the water, walked a long way through a drain and utilized several other TOTTs.
Not too many caches found but a very rewarding day. Absolutely knackered afterwards!
We were a depleted JAMS crew as we were down 1 action man but still a fun day and enjoyed a coffee break and a lunch break. Lots of laughter today.
This was another one of those that I had always wondered why there wasn’t a hide here. TFTC Freddo

I was trying to hide a cache somewhere in City of Prospect. I find a good location, but reviewer informed me that the location I prefer is too close to the final location of this cache. So I decided to try this cache.
This puzzle is difficult, but luckily I got some useful hint from the cache owner.
First step is doable for me, but step 2 and onwards are hard to handle. Took me several days to get the final cords.
Then I visited the final location. No luck. Cache owner is very kind to confirm that the cache is still there. Then I went back, and found the well-hidden cache.
It must be a well-hidden cache, as the log book was there for over 10 years!
And last find was over one year ago.
Signed the log, and placed it back.
Thanks for the puzzle and the cache, Damn Freddo.

A fun puzzle that had me drawing on a number of puzzle-solving tools. I was surprised to see one particular aspect in a D 3.5. Normally that aspect, IMO, would warrant a higher D. But I suppose it's not uncommon these days.

An interesting puzzle that took us some trying but was also quite a bit of fun . The first part was not too difficult as we have some prior experience with the Cyrillic alphabet, but the second stage gave us some grief as we could not find a tool that would generate a fully legible answer. Maybe this was intentional on the part of CO, and eventually we concocted the right sequence of numbers that made sense on the map. Our visit to GZ today during the day was a bit of an adventure, a lot of traffic nearby made finding the container inconspicuously somewhat difficult, but eventually we managed TNLNSL TFTC

Getting into town late a quick check of nearby caches showed this was in the solved pile and given the location thought night time would be a good time to make the find. Well we approached GZ and it all seemed familiar as looking at our off line iPad it had shown we had already found this which on checking the log was confirmed. So to avoid some issues with reshuffling mile stone logs we are adding this time. Certainly a lot of work for a D3.5 cache where similar ones have been higher. TFTC

This was day 1 of our adventure and we made our way out of the City and headed towards the underwater themed geo art [^].
I had been eyeing off an interstate trip for some time now and made plans to head to SA to power through the geoart trails over here . I roped in my geo buddy Krabiboy to join me and we set about solving [?] caches and highlighting Jasmer caches that aren't available over in WA. Our adventure took us from the CBD over to the Yorke Peninsula and then back across to the Murray Bridge area . We were relentless in chasing down the finds and picked up as many as we could in the week that we had available. Due to the park and grab nature of our visit, the log books which weren't able to accommodate the ink stamp we had made were signed with the initials 'jk'! Fave points will be awarded for those caches which are considered awesome
A massive thanks here to Freddo for placing this cache here and for tempting us to venture over to this area. Cheers!
jinta29 found your cache Zagadka today. This is my find #6531 and find #9 today. I was able to get my name in the log book here and we replaced the cache as we found it. Thanks once again Freddo for placing this and bringing us to this part of the world!

After just having solved a puzzle based on the same concept, it was time to come back and finish this one. Not the easiest 3.5D puzzle I have seen! This cipher stuff is not easy and that's even without a real machine.

Heading to Geelong this weekend to do several challenge caches. Over there they have higher D ratings. Needing Puzzle caches starting with V, X and Z was all that was between me and qualification for GC4EMYC so you can guess what I have been doing the last few days. . So when the oldest asked if I could drop him at Uni and having finally got some useful coordinates I was happy to oblige. Muggle traffic at GZ wasn't quite peak hour so I spent a fair bit of time taking photos. I attach the most obscure one but if you can guess GZ from it you are better than me. Firstly thanks to Bek for organising the translation of this cache. After reading it some of the terms reminded me of something and viola a few minutes of googling and we had the solution. TFTC
What an enjoyable puzzle cache
After working out the first step with the help of a work colleague, some likely words started to emerge, but I wasn't sure what to do with the rest.
Enter squirrel and walrus. These two knew exactly what to do, so after a short time, slightly mistranslated coordinates began to emerge. After a little deduction, we had our solution.
Tonight was the night - squirrel and I both needed it for our calendars, so we made the trip out from the nest to claim the smiley. A quick find - admittedly we did use the hint - thanks for the cache Freddo

Thanks for the challenge again Freddo!
Yeah yeah Huurtle - another Freddo cache - about my 100th found of his, I am the lesser of the addicted pair LOL Thanks Monty [^]
Another solved long ago.
Finally on a quiet Sunday morn, the well weathered looking cache was found. Blends in well!
1st for the day on a caching spree, so what better way to start than with a Freddo cache. It's not a caching run without a Freddo find! In fact I will be joining prolific frog soon for tge rest of today's haul!
Thanks

After attending GPS' Help Us Celebrate 1,000 event, RideTheGeoWalrus and I decided to get a few caches...only a few
The run finally finished at about 4am after we visited 22 caches for 17 smileys and, sadly, 5 DNFs
Driving past here a long time ago, I was told that 'there is a cache there.' Surprised, not! It is a great spot to hide a cache
Tonight, under cover of darkness, we infiltrated the area and locus cached the well aged remnant of an ???????? ?????.

I tried and tried and tried and tried to solve this - without success.
I knew approximately where it was (tried to hide a cache nearby) but needed to phone the help line (Thanks Freddo)

my wife solved this one whileworking on the nullabor ,gave me the solution and off I went a guick find in the end.SL TFTC.
Well, this fine puzzle was solved before we left home. We got a chance to find it now - although it required quite a walk from our hotel.
There were many possible good hiding places, so some 5-10 minutes search was needed.

Like parislaura i found this one by accident. I often go past this location and thought there should be one hidden here. As i checked it out i made the find. It blends in well in its location. I havnt solved the puzzle yet. Thanks freddo.
1st Wednesday of the month means my 4WD Club meeting and an opportunity to grab some caches there and on the way home. Tonight was no different.
11:30 pm is the right time to find this one. TFTC.

Only the second time I have found a cache by accident, I have driven past this spot so many times and thought 'why is the not a cache there?' so today I stopped armed with a painted cache container and was ready to place it, and low and behold what did I find, a cache! I had to check log dates to work out which puzzle I had found, but then once I had that part I was able to use the internet to work out the puzzle.
This was really amusing to work backwards on to solve a cache. Thanks Freddo!

Thanks for the cache, Freddo."

Having solved a couple of english versions of similar puzzles in Darwin, figured this one to be a piece of cake, however translating the leters one at a time was painstakingly slow and the resultant answer in broken english (I guess you could say it had a accent) but clear enough to understand, down in town today found after a short search TFTC freddo
That damn dancing frog in the background is kinda hypnotizing. When you daydream while looking at him, he looks 3d.....:O
Trying this with a translating app on my phone - getting some interesting things.

Loved it from start to finish.
The visual appeal, the apparent success, the confusion, the light globes, the research, the painstaking decryption, and the great final location.
Littlest Cyclist found it immediately, after which I warned her that there are bitey things hiding in SA!
Thanks for one of my favouritest puzzles, Freddo!

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.
I went through hell with this puzzle, so I kept going as we never never surrender and never never never give up. The Bolshevik code was fought on the beaches, on the landing grounds, in the fields and in the streets. Ultimately though I needed to defect to the east and look for the iRon cuRtain in order to eclipse Russia’s evil actions.

Did this in reverse order. Stumbled across the cache by chance 10 days ago while checking out a possible location for a hide (reading the logs, looks like many others before me had a similar idea!). However, didn't consider I had earned the smilie until I completed the puzzle. And what an effort that has been! Solved the first part reasonably quickly, but the odd dodgy letter here and there in the second part had me bluffed. Finally worked out tonight that, in this case at least, a mixed up letter here and there doesn't necessarily make it indecipherable. Great puzzle that links beautifully with the final location and a great learning experience. Spasibo - horoshii tovarishch rabotu Freddo.
Found accidentally with e.gregory1 while looking for a possible cache location and signed log. I haven't managed to complete the puzzle yet but it sure looks tough. I'm claiming this anyway. TFTC
Seems to be some common thoughts in the logs. I, too, was thinking of placing a cache here. I, too, was surprised that the odd letter here or there did not affect the overall result.
A shortish walk from the igloo after dinner. Thanks Comrade Freddo!

I enjoyed working out this puzzle a while ago. A good learning experience. After intending to find the cache numerous occasions, today was the best chance. The clue and previous logs helped with locating the cache. Thanks Freddo.
Zagdanka! Spent a week in Moscow and St Petersburg back in '98, learnt a lot in a in that week! But its all Russian to me, anyway found at 20:00 just before needing to pick up the older Miss E from choir practice. Quick find. Thanks Freddo for the find and the chance to brush up on my languages.
Found at 22:41
I was also surprised that transciption errors don't effect subsequent encoding. Nice puzzle.

Nice puzzle that I had solved surprisingly quickly.
A nice hide which even on a Sunday afternoon was pretty easy. There was a lot of traffic, but they were too busy talking on their phones to care about me.

In Soviet Russia, you don't find cache. Cache finds YOU!
Once a week for the last two months I've driven past here and thought "that'd make a good spot for a cache. I should investigate it sometime"
Wish I had. Would have saved myself a lot of bother.
Cache found once I stopped looking in the more difficult spots. Quick sign of the log as the rain set in, then onwards to swim some laps and sit amongst hairy men in the spa.

When this first appeared I was worried I was going to be looking under somebodies bed to locate it
Discovered a useful standard that got me 80% of the way there, which thankfully didn't matter with the wonderful device that one can find on the internet. From previous plays with the device I was under the impression that a bad input would make all the good bits wrong, but it doesn't
In this city for dental work (alas the politburo doesn't exist to cover that, and so it was at my own expense), and it provided a perfect opportunity to nab this cache.
Chose the park to the west (would love to see Skippy bring his truck in here) and amongst all the muggles in their Lada's casually nabbed the cache from the Red spot (naturally).
Logged, took a shot of Smirnoff to calm the nerves, returned and then off to work http://www.allposters.com/-sp/USSR-Udarnaya-Brigada-Proletariata-Vsego-Avant-Garde-Posters_i395696_.htm

At first glance this just looked like a bunch of random characters but after a while out popped Olga then Laika, Chernobyl, Gargarin, Nyet of course and damn Frog??, I don't know where that came from!
It was time to Putin some effort and my trusty online friend did some work for me and then I did know what to do with the assortment of letters.
Wasn't sure about parking here, not being a local, so I walked 425 metres instead.
Cheers Freddo

Close but no cuban cigar. Pulled into the convenient Troika parking, only to get the phone call from Mrs. C saying she was ready to be picked up. Had a very brief look to see if I could spy the enigmous cache, but with muggles abound, decided not to cross the polar deserts of Siberia, and instead score some browny points by picking up Mrs C straightaway, thus avoiding an outbreak of war
I shall return.....

Loved the puzzle - both the theme and the construction. It's mostly straightforward, but sprinkled with some little nasties to trip up the unwary. GZ was also nicely themed with the puzzle, and an easy find even at night. It's an interesting spot that I've somehow never noticed before. All in all, another classic Freddo cache .
