Find # 2780
1:06 pm Mon 19 May 2014
Spending a few days with our son in Albury.
This is one of the caches I picked up along the way.
After a bit of a look and a read of the previous logs, I eventually found the cache.
One of the previous logs saying it isn't somewhere is not correct.
Although not the most comfortable search I've done, you don't need to actually go anywhere dangerous.
Thanks for placing this cache haveanez

I think I should add a pair of knee-pads to my geocaching kit. Enjoyed the find. SL TFTC
I could not find this geocache.. Extremely difficult and dangerous spot. It's not along the end of the cliff or up the very top along the cement slabs. Be careful of the 100s of wasp nests, spiders and snakes :/
No workable pen. DNSL Will go back later - not wearing shorts - when scratched knee heals! TFTC
[:(!] Had nothing better to do and what better way of filling in an afternoon than to do a bit of caching and this was one them, parked the geocar as close as possible to GZ and walked in from there, on arrival at GZ the cache was in hand in a matter of minutes.

3019 Found by baby&Mrs gopher at 1515. Parked in the shade and went for a scramble. baby's estimation was out by about 1 metre, the Mrs used the torch and soon had this little blighter in hand. Took coin.SL Tnx haveanez.
Parked the car and started heading for GZ that was until I saw a snake so the hunt for the cache was abandoned today maybe another time for this one.
Found it ....eventually. Reckon you could up the D/T rating on this one. Finally grabbed a torch to light up the blighter. SL at 11am TN Left: Crawling Caterpillar TB - we are sure this is a good place for him to rest up for a while. #1874 Awarding this one favourite point for being so tricky! TFTC Haveanez - no fishermen around to distract us this morning.
Found with EmnJared and Wounded Warrior. Even with everyone hunting this one took longer than expected, but Jared found it in the end.
TFTC!
TFTC!
Found on a quick trip to their Weir with GillandTony and the Wounded Warrior.
Took a bit of clambering and scrabbling around...and searching in all the wrong places...after reading previous logs we grabbed a torch and Jared soon had the sneaky hide in hand. TFTC

after getting some breaky freshing up a little we headed back out for some more finds after the very slow start hoping to have a good run tho we near gave up on this one until we looked the right spot dont know why we didnt look there to start off but anyway made the find.tftc.
Clever hide. Quick find. Amazing how helpful a bit of light in the right place can be. TNLN SL TFTC
Following on from past logs we took a torch with us, but found the camera the best tool for the task. The other problem I experienced was my surprise and reaction when a car went over top - ouch my head! A muggle free area today. TFTC
Sorry about the very late log but I had forgotten to log a couple of caches in the Wodonga area on a weekend away caching with some geo family. (thanks Moosetash) Managed a quick find after going by feel, found many traces of rats in the area also, eeww!! TFTC haveanez.
After a bit of a visual search I decided that I needed to get my hands dirty and feel around where I couldn't see... Paid off as cache was in hands not long after. SL

#642 and last one today. Didn't particularly like this situation with 2 grandkids with me which in turn meant taking longer than expected to actually sight this cache. Anyway with light in the right place, the cache was sighted and retrieved. SL put it back and headed for 'home'. TFTC here too, haveanez!
What do you do on a damp and windy Sunday? Go for a Sunday Drive caching, of course!
Travelled north with BettyBoo3747 and Chewinprickles.
Stayed dry for most of the day (except for the feet!)
Chewin and I had looked for this one a long while ago, unsuccessfully. Today was different, wetter, but different.
Thanks, Robmc.

Tried for this some time back but we were more successful this trip. A torch helped as did having a previous finder with us.
In Albury for work... Nice day for caching... Not much luck in the city so back to the country 2 search...searched high and low, in and out, up and down no luck....
Despite three of us we didn't find this one - hope it's because of a great hiding place.
Checked all the obvious and not so obvious spots to no avail. Will have to try again when we're back in the area.

Out with Zobo04 doing a few caches before the event today. Hoping to find at least 19 caches today so can log 1400 finds tomorrow. Had to use the PAF option or should I say PCO due to a previous run in with the little black wasps was a little afraid to dive my hand in to the dark spots. After some good advice grabbed a torch and had another look and finally spotted the cache. Loved the view from the bridge here. TFTC haveanez
Found with Gonefishen07 while visiting Albury to attend 3 events over the weekend. Took a bit to find this one great spot. TFTC
Found with Indianagleeson, spud, red_leader_&_ fox_2..... On our way to pick geoson up from work
Searched high and low and behind black things for 40mins, but could not find GZ. Please check if still there.
Had to avoid some creepy crawlies but got there in the end. Found with GerbilFX and Integrityguy. TFTC.
3rd time lucky!!! cache was open and spilt had to dig everything out.. SL and replaced everything fine TFTC
Looking forever when we discovered something blocking the view from one side to another and there it was
Third time lucky with this one - thanks for the little hint bucrog! Like you I forgot a pencil and had to go back to car, so I left the pencil and took the TB..... Glad that ones over...TFTC
Found on a day out with franksfamily04. Drove the car about halfway along the track to the car park here, then reversed back out as i decided the Subaru had used its quota of good luck up on "puddles" this size today. Made the short work to GZ where a quick find was made and the log signed.

Thought this was going to be an easy find, knew where the cache was just getting there was the problem with my knees and back and I'm not a little bloke, and when I did get it, "who left the pen in the car" had to scramble back to the car for the pen. "oh my knees" sl left a smacko key ring. TFTC had to work for this one.
Stopping by a second time to leave a trackable
Didn't sign log as already done in previous visit

2nd go at this one, and unlucky again, had a good snoop around but no can find.
Nice to knock this one off the list today while 'entertaining' the kids for school holidays. Parked "KC" the Black Bus up the end of the track and walked down to the water's edge to see the Mighty Murray in all its glory. Had a brief look around in the obvious places and it was not long before we discovered the find. SL at 12 noon. I looked across the other side of the river at 'God's Country' and thought how fortunate I am to be a New South Welshman. Great spot! TFTC haveanez.
With some reluctance with evidence of rats and wasps, it was the geokids that come up trumps with this one. Thanks haveanez for allowing us to find this good fishing spot.
I traversed Heywood bridge once but didn’t think I could fool the fisherman and his family if I hung around any longer. Might try again on another day.
This was our second attempt at this one, with a few hints and a cache removal tool it was soon in midahos hand. Tftc
Second attempt at this one following a tip from Alansee. I do feel though that Bear Grylls would be cautious of putting his hands in here. T4TC
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
After a thorough search, and many teams make light work, the cache was in hand. Torches are a must. The wasps nests and evidence of snake activity meant geowife was 'guiding' from the sidelines on this one! TFTC
Should have trusted my first instincts here instead of broadening the search. Mentions of rats and wasps had me a tad squirmy though. But finally found with bogonghazy, on our trek homewards bound after OzMega. Thanks to haveanez
Took a long time here, and it was with trepidation that I reached around so many places amongst all the mudwasp nests. It was only aftert a call to the CO that the find was made in a different location from suggested, so it was replaced back in the correct spot.
Thanks again Haveanez, it is a great spot to throw a line in, but not today.
Thanks for bringing me here......oh, and the help.

I am logging this cache now (almost 6 years later) as I was 8 at the time and cared about the finds but not the logs (sorry!) - this was found during the OzMega Road trip that I went on with Raspberry Vinegar, Fore!, Moo and Little Red Shoes. And Raspberry Chicken who might never log these caches - who knows! It was a great trip, I remember that much! Thanks for the Cache!
Just catching up on my logs from last month (oops). Found whilst attending oz mega!
There were a few cars on the side of the road as Kaisho53 and I pulled up near this one and we wondered what was going on... Would we find a caching event in progress at GZ... ??? Would we find GZ full of anglers and not be able to approach... ??? Nope, neither of them in fact and we had no idea where all the occupants were... Perhaps walking the really cool bridge from end to end... [^]
Anyway, as the coast was clear, we moved in for the hunt and with a little investigation came up with the goods. I had to break out the phone to shine some light while we etched in the log. It was a little dark after all...
Job done and cache back in place, we reappeared back where we started. That's when we were really pleased no-one was around...
Cheers haveanez.

Found at 12.50pm GAFF5 in the company of monch's mob, Squalid and BackPAQer.
There was already another team here when we arrived and they found the cache as soon as we arrived. The river is certainly running fast - not sure if you can fish in that current.
Thanks haveanez.

A trip around the lake was arranged and we managed to find a few caches along the way - all easy and quick finds.

Few people fishing here. Some for fish...some for caches Seems to be a wasps nest at the East end of the bridge so be careful.
I couldn't find this one in the day but The Rats soon found it at night. In the daylight, the water was sure pumping past here. TFTC!
This one was had in no time at all... which is a good thing as we left the geokiddies in the car (well, there was no casino nearby, so what else were we supposed to do???) Thanks for the cache!
We found the paper wasp's nest too, then we were on the right track. We also spoke to Mr fisherman. Thanks for the cache.
In Albury/Wodonga for the Oz Mega event. We didnt have many caches on our to-do list, but this was one that we wanted to do.
Out for a spot of caching on the Sunday night with Steeba we stopped in here where I quickly spotted the cache. Poor steeba cursed me as he'd previously missed this one.
Thanks

Found this cache while on a morning caching run from the OZ Mega in Albury.
A quick scramble up the rocks, avoided the wasps and made a find - much to Toddler Tardis's delight. Just as we were replacing the cache, another group of cachers walked in. Then as we drove off another car full of cachers arrived. A busy weekend indeed. Thanks for the cache haveanez. A beautiful spot for some fishing, or just to sit and watch the waters go by.

On our way to Albury for easter mega caching. Caching with the Walenators and my earthbound family. TFTC
Out for the morning to get a few more caches with some others a quick find was made
The Stormcatchers have come to Albury/Wodonga for the Easter long weekend to experience their first OZ MEGA event. After registering for the event this morning, we checked out what the stalls had to offer and we met and chatted to lots of fellow cachers. We decided we should head out and grab some local caches while collecting the information for one of the mega event games.
The sun had disapeared by the time we got to this one, we spent a lot of time enjoying the sites as we explored the surrounding area. We did have to walk past what we assumed were fisherman packing up for the day but we said hi and walked past trying not to look suspicious. We made a quick find and headed back to the car. TFTC haveanez

Found in the company of the Walenators, The Earthbound crew, Datruk and coley_babee on day 3 of As We arrived to find another Vic caching team searching for this one. No one wanted to place their hands into the 'unknown'.
Taking one for the team, the cache was found rather quickly and all signed in.
Thanks haveanez for the cache.

Coooool spot, wished I had a rod handy
Many were looking without luck and I only had a boyz look.
Josie was phoning for help when Sol de lune came up trumps.
We could have almost had a mini event
