Decided to archive this one but it may reappear soon not as a mystery cache perhaps so others might find it easier.
drats - another mystery cache solved but now archived without having been able to go out and find it - will have to start finding solved ones soon!
Was in the area and after a quick check discovered this one may be missing. Hope to replace it shortly
We solved this one a long time age but never come up this way to actually make the grab. After a New Years party we headed down to ground zero and found so many muggles around that it was so overt it was covert. The cache was spotted and after a small bit of effort was soon in hand(s). There was a bit of water which we dried out and were on our way. Thanks for the cache! Happy New Year!
I'm out today with Cretti caching around the Whangaparoa Peninsula.
Spurred on by Cretti I attempted this cache this time. I have been here before and eyeballed this cache but only half attempted it.
Good fun. FP for the climb. Not as bad as I thought it might be.
Find #6442. Thank you very much for the cache. 28/09/2014 14:42

Out with a group of friends grabbing caches in Shakespeare Park today. What a glorious day for it.
Monkey see monkey do... Monkey almost spewed. Heavy night lasts night.

Replaced the log and ditched the mush which was in there. good to go. Has a fresh Baggie.
Quick and easy puzzle to solve before we headed out for a spot of caching on this beautiful Queens Birthday Sunday.

I just loved this one! Really enjoyed being a monkey :-). A favorite point for the hide. Can't deny when you see it, just want to climb it, haha. It wasn't too hard and felt like adventure! That's proper geocaching ;-). Along with the thrill when standing still, hoping the muggles passing underneath aren't going to spot you ><. Thanks for the cache.
Very cool!
Took me quite a while to spot the container - a good effort and cache was soon in hand.

We solved this one some time ago and decided to pay a visit while in the area this wedkend. We arrived at GZ and decided it was time for a coffee before attempting the challenge but by then the sun had gone and the light drizzle had arrived which looked set to stay for a while. We started with the normal recky afterwhich MAR decided to have the first attempt however after making it halfway up she didn't have the leg length to make it to the final level. Next up was ROS who climbed and swung like a monkey till he could reach and the visit was duly recorded in the log. Great cache to celebrate our 11,000th find TFTC.
I decided to head out this afternoon to find some solved puzzle caches. This was first up. I solved this one well over a year ago now. I can't actually remember anything about how the solve went, or what the puzzle was about now. Anyway, My solution was good as when I got to GZ I soon spied the cache above me. That is a long way up, but not insanely high. Hardest bits were getting started and the dismount. The climb in between went well. Cheers for the neat combo of puzzle and climb, I likey! Cheers for the cache placement!
Went here hoping to drop off a TB needing high terrain ratings. Again the cache was too small but getting up this tree turned out to be hilarious. Not far from GZ, the navy seals had four boats in the bay for a picnic and some night time manoeuvres. If necessary, we figured we could ask them to help or borrow a chilly bin to get us up the first stage!
I hadn't dressed for adventures today, instead wearing a frock with leggings and open sandals, so sisso2 made the first attempt at an assault on the monkey side of the puzzle. I was too short to give the appropriate boost, so had to grab sisso2's shoes (which were way too big) to make the assault myself, despite being a little overdressed. Lucky it was dusk as the sights from below straddling and trying to reach would have been entertaining.
Good fun, glad we persevered, a fav for us and one more place tonight to try to leave the coin.

My thanks to NZBreakerMatt who did me a favour and used his enthusiastic monkeying skills to replace this one for me.

1930 Luckily I had solved this, and downloaded the coordinates to the GPSr as a Waypoint, as I haad to delete all of the loaded Pocket Queries to try and get the GPSr to cooperate. Only when I was in the general area did I reopen the cache page and see that it had been disabled. Went and had a look, and that, yeah, doable. So climbed on up, and left a piece of cardboard with my details wedged there. Thanks to NZ Breaker Matt who wrote my name and date in the log sheet.
A nice challenging climb, which I had left to the right of the hour, as there were very few muggles around by then.
Brought through for mileage: 3 Bros, Aust Light Houses, BEAGLE BIXBY, B 2 B ingot, BROWN BEAR 15, Coin of Danmark, CRDAVIS-Scottish Thistle Geocoin, Fishing Bell TB, GoLeo Travel Bug Dog Tag, Iconic Bridges, land rover TB, Lil' Miss TB, cache critters Baa, Neigh Neddy, and Oink, PAP, Rienan TB, Spooky, steben6's DNF Duo - Super Cacher Geocoin, Trakabulldog geocoins, and trackable shirt.

Unfortunately the container has come apart and needs to be replaced. Out of the country for a a couple of weeks but will replace asap
hey Budokan, I'm not sure if you replaced the cache in a new position since I found it 2 years ago? but I happened to be walking past & could spy the lid in original place, but not the cache...
Had a go yesterday at this one. Mmmm, need a bit of specialist equipment maybe or retire defeated. OH NO WAY.
If there is one thing that Geo Puzzles teach you, it is to think logically. Middle of night an ah ha moment. Back this morning with an aid for a 72 year old with a new hip. Was easy then.
we needed a 4 terrain for a challenge that we are doing. TFTC

Had solved this easily many months ago and was in the area this evening with rosmar finding some new caches so made a quick stop for this. Located the cache location from the ground and then got a boost from rosamar to the first branch. From here I monkeyed up to the cache and soon had it in hand. Unfortunately the cache container was filled with water. Gave rosmar a heads up to stand out of the way and emptied the water onto the ground. The log was soaked and teared up when writing on it and so couldn't leave much of a mark. Carefully made my way back down to terra firma and we continued on our way.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Finally got around to looking for this cache, at first i naviagted mysef to Shakespear Park (not there!) Then went home and did some more research and finally thanks to geocaching.com i was able to locate the area. Went straight to where i thought it was and sure enough I could see it! Abit of a climb and some big reaches and i made it! Took the geocoin to move to another cache. TFTC
Solved the puzzle last night in the campervan. As reading the logs, decided to this one in the early morning and have breakfast at the picknickspot.
It was full of mugglers....this time on 4 feet. Our doggies had the fun in times. There were a lot of people who went for an early walk with the doggies and give them a swim and play.
After the breakfast it was time for us to find the cache. Finding the right tree....Needed some help to get up and so of to the cache.
This area certainly need such a cache. Top job
Left Geocoin for the next one to find

great cache, esp if one has a climber with them, many thanks for this one, ceratainly is muggleville in summer tho.
I wasn't Puzzled for long, Nova Lightning thinks that it wasn't that I don't like heights, but rather a case of him needing some Glory points to be able to tell the new wife how wonderful he is

Monkey about was defiantly on the cards today. Carts&Dragons didn't have the skill set to collect the cache and me having the BIGGEST ONES reached the cache quickly.
A fun cache to collect. Thanks for the effort.

good day for finding it quiet with no one around so able to take my time, wife and daughter on look out. TFTC
Checked on this one after the previous log and happy to say the cache and its logbook were all ok and ready for the next brave cacher to monkey up to.
Found this without the lid, just sitting on the ground. The log is there and in good shape. Put it back where we thought it should be and put the rock on top. TFTC
Evilno9 had this puzzel solved before we headed out here, but a quick glance over it and it was pretty easy to solve. There were a few muggles around but we ignored them, and it appeared they weren't too interested in us. Just another bunch of people trying to climb a tree! snakelion decided to be the monkey, and after a bit of hunt around ishoot pointed out the goods. Great little hide, and definitely a bit of fun. TFTC
Had solved this one a while back in preparation for a trip out this way that never eventuated so was thankful for having saved the coordinates in GSAK to save figuring it out again. Arrived here towards the end of our day and snakelion couldn't wait to start monkeying around. Took some work from the ground team to make sure we were in the right spot but it all fell into place reasonably easily and a good team effort meant we had the log signed and replaced without too much fuss. Cool spot and an awesome hide. TFTC
Awesome cache this one, evilno9 did the solving and since we were in the area collecting caches, this one also came up to be ticked off. I got excited and offered to do the monkey business. The climb was easy enough with little push from evilno9. After searching the lower area and with no success, the team at ground level pointed me to the cache and I jumped to it without delay! Well the log jumped out of my hands and towards the team at ground level who did the honurs of signing the log. Cache back in place and I happily monked back to the rest of the team.

Arrived at GZ to see a couple of groups having BBQ's, they didn't seem to pay much attention to us as we ignored them and focussed on the trees...Team effort for this one, we threw Snakelion up the tree and he monkied around for a while, the rest of us (Evilno9, and MelRamsy and me) looked high and low for the cache so we could give directions, it was a while before I spotted the cache and sent him up a bit higher, the log was soon dropped on to a lower branch, retrieved, signed and returned to Snakelion, who replaced the cache and returned safely to ground. On my return home, I solved the puzzle. Thanks for this one.
We'd left our little monkey at a friends house, but a bigger monkey managed to retrieve it though it took some effort...
Much entertainment for those watching though!

Second time searching for this one .. had the co-ords wrong first time! But with a FTF success across the road, we knew we had luck on our side today. The little monkey was too scared to go past the second branch, so the biggest monkey had to make the find! TFTC
Extreme wind + cache in high place = DANGEROUS FUN.
T4TC. Love it. There should be more like this one.

Awesomely fun cache highly recommended! Was accused of doing something dodgey by a lone passer-by. Very odd.

After patiently waiting out summer, returned today to find a very quiet GZ. A few awkward moments later and the cache was precariously in hand.

Solved the puzzle last night and was hoping for a quick find today. Arrived at GZ to find about 5 thousands other there too. Will need to come back another day when hopefully only a handful of muggles.
Decided to hit this one with the grand kids, the oldest went straight up the tree, dropped down the cache, I signed the log, back up he went, log sheet is damp and tearing, didn't have any replacements,
A fun cache, thanks for the Xmas day fun!

The highlight of the trip today and a real team effort. GreenblAt snr solved the puzzle quickly the night before. When we got to GZ it was muggled out with picniccers so we raced off for a frustrating DNF at the other end of the bay and returned. The GreenBLat juniors both spotted the cache straight away. Deciding it was way too risky to send up the puzzle-solver we sent up ace-gymnast GreenBlat who got within inches of the cache but couldn't quite reach. Mrs GreenblaT was then launched up to GZ and soon had the goods.
Good fun - recommended! T4TC

There were a few K9s and therir muggle owners about so did the nearby cache at the other end of the beach. Came back and finally got myself up off the ground. Took a bit of skin off and started to leak some of my valuable liquid, but not too much. As they say, I'll live. Got to the cache signed the log and then dropped the plastic bag. DANG!!. Luckily it didn't drop allo the way to the ground but got hung up on a lower branch. Managed to grab it and put the log into it and replaced the cache.
DANG!! along came a couple of K9s chasing balls so was up there a few minutes longer until they moved on.
Cheers for the cache.

I did a 4.5 terrain rated cache with budokan a few days ago which was all that and more. Decided to have a crack at this one a 4 terrain as any brave, stupid, macho, male cacher would, with the cache owner watching. In Jandals.
All good but when at the cache I would have enjoyed rather sturdier footwear. A fair way to bounce down. After camping with budokan for the last 2 nights this was a great way to finish the camp. Thanks budokan for a great camp and as always it is a pleasure to do a budokan cache, they are worth the effort. *highly recommended*

Solved it ages ago, finally in the area today so worth a look. Spotted it quickly and was quite prepared to get it, but the large picnic surrounding it would likely have objected!
Thanks again Budokan!
oh, if anyone finds a battery charger (for a camera) in the area could they please e-mail me?
Yes, I kept my pack on thinking I might need pen/swag/etc and a single climb was a challenge/scary enough for me! ... it may have fallen out while I was monkeying about... all that, and I forgot to snap a pic while up there! ohwhatasupersillymonkeyami?!

Cache container has been moved. e-mailing owner with details shortly. Sorry!
Well don't I look the Silly monkey now?! I knew exactly How this should be retrieved yet when I wrapped my paws around it and tried the sensible action, to my surprise & despair the whole thing came off! Sorry!
Log was very wet and couldn't write on it. I left a note on a piece of waterproof paper and a a guitar pick.
Oh! thanks for the easy puzzle and the very fun challenge! haven't climbed like that in oh... 35 years! [B)]

4904 Nice puzzle, solved it a while ago, found with Yeetrees, he did all the monkey work, TFTC.
Solved this cache a while back, After doing a bit of shopping in the area and decided it was time to do a bit off monkeying around, oh what have I found here, a container. COOL. No issues here easy retrieval without too much effort. Thanks for bringing me here to this lovely spot. TFTC TNLNSL (2043)
2380 As we had solved this as soon as it came out, it seemed only fair that whilst we were in the area that we would make a detour to collect the cache. As anticipated Mr Geckoh throughly enjoyed the monkey business involved in retrieving this cache. Thanks for the fun cache placement and puzzle.
Sent the monkey boy up after this one, only trouble was it was a very windy day. He got there in the end with no injuries so we count that as a good day. TFTC
The inherent problem with trying to work on my computer is that I am easily distracted by puzzles to solve - thanks for the short break, now back to work, will try and claim cache next time we are in that area! Mr Geckoh will enjoy Monkeying around!
The puzzle was quickly solved then one of us drove to Whangaparaoa. Google Earth pointed to one tree, the GPS to another, and Common Sense suggested neither seemed likely. Had a good look anyway, then searched the trees on either side. Looked everywhere again, then did some 'what if' calculations and tried inverting parts of the co-ords. Several options led to nicely climbable trees but no cache.
Eventually gave up and this Puzzled Monkey returned to the car, just as another vehicle arrived and parked next to me. When 2 people got out and walked to GZ, I put my coat back on and went over to meet 2newkiwis. Mr 2new was boosted into a tree and climbed for a better look. He spotted the cache and was able to retrieve it, by climbing to a height that would legally require safety equipment to be worn if working there. High Adventure or Potential Disaster?
I was lucky I had been too bloody-minded to give up on this one earlier. Thanks 2newkiwis for coming along and making the climb! And thanks for the joint FTF .

Found this new puzzle by accident, and noticing that no one had found it yet, we thought we'd have a go at getting our FTF as it's just down the road from us. We were confident there'd be nobody in the area since it was 2pm on a working day and raining, but alas, there was this guy sitting in his car looking mighty suspicious, so we thought we might have been beaten to it . Hmmmph... never mind, off to GZ we go...
As soon as we arrived at GZ we noticed said guy making a bee-line for us... turned out to be one half of kiwicouple, who had been trying to find the cache for a while without success... 2newkiwis to the rescue! .
Failing to see it from the ground ourselves, we decided to take the hint literally and give Mr Newkiwi a legup. Climb, climb, climb... blooming 'eck, there it is!! Mr Kiwicouple kindly ran back to the car for a writing stick and we logged a joint FTF. Success!
Now, a word of warning for future hunters, this is just our 2 cents' worth so take it as you wish.
We (all 3 of us who made the joint FTF) think the cache will be way out of reach for a big number of cachers, so before making the trip out here, consider the following:
1. Are you planning to come with another fully grown geocacher? (or maybe a ladder?)
2. Do you feel comfortable with heights? [xx(]
3. Are you reasonably fit?
4. Do you get a kick out of risking life and limb to retrieve a cache? (ok, so this one might be a bit of an exaggeration, but watch out on wet days...)
If you answered yes to all 4 questions, you'll be ok. Otherwise, you may waste a trip...
Another thought: Are you able to come at a time of the day when there will be no-one around? This one will be IMPOSSIBLE to retrieve without attracting a lot of attention from muggles, and I can tell you now the area is totally infested with them in the summer and on fine days...
You've been warned!
