Decided on a late afternoon venture from Marree down part of the Birdsville track to see the hot artesian bath, along the way we stopped and had a look at the ruin, a nesting crow provided some entertainment. Cache was soon found in good condition and numerous photos takenTFTC Funky G.O.
On a bucketlist trip.

We are on a Bucket List Trek, from Busselton, in the South West corner of Australia, up to Cape York, Australia's most Northern land point.
We are travelling through several iconic tracks, through the Gawler Ranges, the Oodnadatta Track, the Birdsville Track, the Bloomfield Track and the PDR Track to Cape York.
As we meander across this awesome country, we stopped here to enjoy the scenery, check out the history and wonder what life was like here in the Outback all those years ago.
Thanks to the CO's for adding to our journey as we head to Cape York.

We stayed here last night as we were running behind, checking all the points of interest along the way. I stumbled upon the cache when taking photos before we had a chance to actually look for it. Thanks for the find on our little outback adventure
Drove along the Birdsville Track, just to say we've been on it, but the afternoon was made interesting by stopping for caches, and this was no exception! TFTC
Daughter found it by accident. Noticed a spot that she said would be great for a cache and found that there was actually one there. Found on our travels to Birdsville 2 weeks ago!
we found this one before but forgot to log so finally got to logging it. tftcsl
Found it TFTC Found in good condition. Every time I see an old stone house like this I think this may have been some woman's prid and joy

We made it up the Birdsville Track with minimal trouble and then I broke the van in the Birdsville Caravan Park. D’oh!
After a few false starts I did get it fixed.
The trip up the Track was pretty straightforward and the chance to stop for caches along the way helped add to the trip.
Overnight at Mungaranie Phil’s and then Janet and I continued north. The track was good apart from the corrugations which actually weren’t too bad.
This cache was a quick find in the first place checked. Which may have been a bit lucky. But we’ll take it. Fascinating place.

Interesting ruins, worth stopping for. Can't believe how many cars zoom past these places. TFTC
Found as part of an extended trip with FeatherWaite, Freddo, Team Waldron and a couple of non-caching friends that saw us travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, through the Painted Desert to Oodnadatta, then on to Dalhousie and Mount Dare, before crossing the Simpson Desert to Birdsville and then back down to Adelaide via Marree and the Flinders Ranges.
We had pretty good weather, with moderately warm days and cool nights, but plenty of flies!
It was great to be able to find some remote caches in some really interesting and scenic locations.
Thanks Funky G.O. for the cache.

We were staying at Marree and drove up this way to grab a cache or two. It would've been a hard life out here in the early days. TFTC
We are on the homeward leg of the annual sun chasing trip. Grabbed the caches around Birdsville before heading down the track. TFTC.
A nice stroll around the ruins. It must have been a tough life living here.

I knew there was a cache here somewhere but did not have the exact coordinates. Yes, my service provider was not Telstra. When trying to get some internet data at the Marree pub, my device decided it need to get updates instead. In the end our data limit was reached and so was my patience. So did not have the cache details. But success was still achieved as we explored these ruins. Thanks for the history and placing the cache.
Luv old ruins, but would have hated living out here in the old days, what a life. TFTC

We camped here, full moon was spectacular. Heard dingos off in the distance as we were going to bed. Easy find. Tomorrow we finish the Birdsville track and then get stuck there for 5 days waiting for parts to fly in to fix an issue with the 4wd.
This cache was found on an awesome trip to Alice Springs and the Red Centre MegaThere were many many awesome experiences shared with LakeEyreMax, Lost55 and TK2. and on occasion moneydorkThis one as we headed homeThere was a lot going on and I was neglectful of logging, but did keep notes and luckily can shadow TK2 logsPlease accept my apologies and late log - it reflects my tardiness rather than the quality of the cache experience and the enjoyment derived
Quick find while on our trip to Birdsville. And more ruins! A reminder of how populated this harsh country once was and how tough our ancestors were.
Quick trip from Marree up to Clayton Wetlands for a bath and stop to get this on the way up. TFTC
Quick and easy find.
Found on the way to camping on the Birdsville Track for Easter.

My Dad ( Harry ) loved the outback so I wanted to make sure I visited this lake! What a great cache that we were lucky to find being that a recent campfire had been lit at GZ. What a fabulous story and the cache notes were really interesting. I took heaps of photos here and so enjoyed the experience. It's cache like these that make the hobby so much fun! Appreciate you bringing us here! SL Thanks
Yes a very interesting experiment in agriculture out here!
Found the cache behind a pile of ashes. Someone decided to make a fire pit in that corner! The cache survived unscathed though.
Took the tb to move closer to a chance to get to Ulster.
Thanks

Found this one pretty quickly once in the area. Thanks for bringing us here. Another spot that geocaching has taken us, where otherwise we would've driven straight past!
Thanks for the great story to go with this cache find Funky G.O.
The Lake Harry residence is showing its age now.
The incessant winds have eroded the foundations at the base and the whole thing is looking like it will collapse soon
I searched around for the cache this morning and soon found it in one of the holes
Then I had a good old stroll around the gardens to view the olde boilers, Model-T's, various bits of pipe and stuff, before heading up the nearby hill to find me a Trig-Point
The house looked a lot smaller and lonelier from on top of the hill !!

What a fascinating place! So quiet. Great to reflect on what was here before. Also got some great photos. Thanks Funky G.O.!
This was the 39th find of a total of 49 caches found by Boxer and 5 Vietnam veterans club member mates, on a 10 day trip up to Marree, then onto Mt Dare, across the Simpson desert to Birdsville, then back down to Marree, then home to Kadina. A very interesting and at times very challenging trip. Stopping to find caches helped break up the trip and get out and stretch the legs. Thanks for the cache hide.
First cache found on our trip to Birdsville. We are heading across the Simpson Desert.

Nice easy find. Cache has survived the summer well. Loved the outdoor shower nearby. Surrounding campers would not like me using it, if there were any around, and we had camped here.
