#1242 After directing us to the wrong spot and realising my phones GPS was being a bit dodgy, Turtle homed us in on the cache and it was found shortly after. It’s definitely well concealed from passer-by’s with the growth of the nearby bushes. Thanks O319 for stopping us here for another cache in this series, we’ve collected a few so far with many more to come!

#3101 A short search in the wrong spot led to a very quick find in the second spot. All in good condition and returned to its leafy concealment. Thanks O319 for the cache. I remember travelling via here so many times before the bypass when this was still a thriving truck stop. Good to see that it has found its place homing community organisations.

I arrived here for a completely different purpose, but what a bonus, a cache close by!

When the weather for today was predicted to be cold, windy with showers we decided to stay close to town and pick up some caches in the immediate area.
Some good hides and tough ones resulting in a couple of favourite awarded and a couple of DNFs was the result.

Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache O319.

While driving back to Shepparton from Canberra we were driving thru Yass looking for somewhere to get lunch when The Blind Side spotted a lady standing out the front of a long vacant service station holding a pen and looking in a garden bed. he knew exactly what she was doing. So a quick u-turn and we pulled up behind her car just has a geokid emerged from the bushes. Probably the easiest find of my geocaching career. Nice hide (I think) TFTC

A quick and easy find before heading home to Canberra. TFTC O319.

**Our Day**
Today was too wet for us to hike or cycle on dirt tracks so decided to chase WINDMILL data for the Great Aussie Icon series. Late morning we headed out after a good sleep-in.

As we were heading to Murrumbateman and Yass collecting the required information we decided to pick up a few Challenge mysteries, Wherigos and the odd Traditional. However, we only stopped for traditional caches if we passed them on the road. With so many caches to choose from these days we do get a bit picky when time is of the essence as we needed to be home by mid afternoon. The sun ️ came out after lunch so it was very pleasant to finish up in beautiful weather. Another productive day in the office.

The original plan was a walk in some of the high country but with some road closures it was changed to GOM's going to the ACT and Yass for a few day walks and caches. PPE, Crash 2079 and myself completed the CBR WIG's in the morning and headed over here in the afternoon, to make a couple of finds on the trip to Yass.
Now in Yass and not many food options late at night but managed to order a pizza so while waiting time to make some more finds to help PPE and Crash2079 bring up 50 finds for the day. No issues making a night find here. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

Found Smile -- 11:00 am -- Thanks for the hunt and bringing us back to this memory *O319*.

**Cache Condition:** Good.

**The Cache**
I entertained the idea of targeting this cache as I now have only two left to find in this series but this one was out of my way. Unbeknown to me I had to travel into *Yass* anyway, so there was no way I was missing out on this cache find. I remember coming through here many moons ago, a very long time ago. The service station was then the *Golden Fleece* if my memory serves me correctly. ***Memories*** We signed the log in either our names or our initials in some switcheroo form of LP, DJJ, ToC and then returned cache to its hide'y hole exactly as found.

**The Day**
OCW *Little Panther* and *DustyJapserJet*. Cruised down to Binalong to undertake some cache maintenance between here and Wyangala, plus a short few days camping. Want to stay longer but we have a three day Scout hike commitment. On our way to Yass for food and to complete some caches down the freeway that I was intending to target yesterday.

***Please don't be hasty - zip and wrap the bags - money, time and effort that has gone into them.***

Now that I had finished the Threatened Species Trail I now knew what I needed to get my target for the day (or so I thought). First goal was 100 and if I could 120 was the next (for Project-GC award). I had accommodation booked in Yass but in the end I went to Binalong and Galong to get a good start before heading into town just on dark.

I remember when this used to be a working fuel stop - reckon I have had at least one pie here as a kid. Once I stopped I eventually found the obvious trail and the cache was located. A TB was an added bonus.

Tankengine and I had two important caches to deal with today. TE had offered to help me replace a cache I dropped down a pipe on the way here and he had a mutli in Yass to do so he could clear the town out once and for all - well until the next cache is published here anyway.

This cache: We parked across the road and walked to GZ. I wasn't even two steps away when I could see the cache just laying in the open under the bush. I reached in signed the log then replaced back, but with a little cover to protect it from the weather and animals as I'm sure no muggles would really have any reason to be there. Tftc O319!!!

With GreyHams we set off at a respectable but still early enough time with the plan to cache Yass for the day. We both had a number of caches we both needed along the way so made a few detours, caching our way through the still not hot morning.

Between us both we had a number to collect as we drove towards Yass, a few newly published in areas previously cached, park and grabs and a few walks. A very relaxed and enjoyable day, avenged a DNF from way back and added a few more!

The heat in the late afternoon kicked it up a notch but managed a productive day and had fun doing it! Feeling the heat and the long day it was time to head back towards Canberra with a few more caches on the way back. Had just pulled into the driveway when a notification of a new cache came in, perfect timing, tiredness forgotten and it was back out the drive and off to chase down a new cache... funny, but where did that new energy came from!?

Thanks for the cache and adding to the days adventures.

Found everything okay here today.

Today I decided to stay away from PTs so I drove out to Yass to see how many smilies I could add to my tally. I had a fabulous day with no DNFs though at times I came close to walking away from the more difficult finds.
Thanks to all the COs for placing these caches for us all to find. My name has been added to all the logs, though mostly as SG. TNLN. .

Another poor judgement when on limited time for caching and I choose another long search leading to a DNF. I had a half baked idea what the clue meant but no sign of the cache there, so just extended the search around the area of GZ but still nothing. In the end I had to settle for a DNF after 15 minutes of searching when caching time was running out for the day.

Found this cache on our way to the OZ Geo Muster at Morisset NSW. Thanks for all the information in the description, we had been wondering when the "new" road was built and now know the full history.

A chance to get out of the house with the fine spring weather. Down the Hume to yass (a frequent caching ground as of late) through murrumbateman to canberra then back up the federal highway to goulburn.

The idea was to get a handful of caches we had missed or that had been recently published along this route.

Most finds were fairly simple with a few needing to step back and look at the bigger picture at times. TFTC

Finally stopped to get this one. Have driven past so many times as of late

Cache 2803 on 26/8/17

Darksidedan and I headed out to Yass again to collect a few more caches on a fabulous sunny Saturday morning. We both found around 40 caches for the day - a good haul given we were not in a hurry and headed back to the ACT at lunchtime. Another fun filed day with lots of chatter and birds. If not otherwise indicated, all caches found in reasonable order and in short time.

A tricky find, not what we were expecting.

Thanks O319 for the cache!
