My mum found this one and the she suggested it should be archived, which it was. We will pick it up next time we are around and discard as geotrash. ta.
# 1080 In the area scoping out a few caches for the upcoming 11 in one day challenge i am going to attempt in conjunction with the Mega... exciting
This one was just convenient so I left the DangerSAM in the car and ninja'd over to this location. Quick find.
Its awesome that this cache is so old (placed in 2010 so 8 years old) but the owner hasnt logged in since 2011 and has only 8 finds himself. It is in dire need of some maintenance - the cache is water logged, everything is wet and it is pretty disgusting inside. Container is just an icecream container and has filled with water since the last finder emptied less than a month ago. If I had some equipment I would have done some maintenance myself. Probably time to go i think.

Cache has had a lack of love. It is water logged and disgusting inside. The owner has not logged in since 2011, only has 8 finds themselves so clearly not maintaining it.

Under the flax n full of water!
It was a beautiful sunny day, just perfect for caching.
A quick find of a water logged EVERYTHING! The box, the baggie, the pill bottle.
I tipped the water out but it was wet and soggy.
I put a piece of paper with my log inside a baggy I had with me but I didn’t know if that would stay dry next rain.
I had to wait as a guy drove his ‘drone’ around the park, ducking through trees and looping around. It wasn’t until he crashed that I was comfortable about walking back along the path.

Found while out with Nz1. Quick and easy find as good coords and hint.
Inside large container wet but inner container doing its job and log dry enough to sign.
TNLNSL, TFTC.

Found while out with Glad-nz. Second time the charm. Water inside container but inner container is keeping log dry. TFTC
I parked up nearby and wandered over to where the GPS was pointing me. The cache was a quick find due to contextual clues. TFTC

This wasn't quite as quick as I thought it might be. Not sure why but it took me several minutes to find. Unfortunately the cache is full of water (literally, see photo) and the log is pretty soggy. However, to my surprise I managed to make a mark on it to prove I was there. TFTC.
This container is not suitable for a geocache and just collects water. The log needs to be replaced because of it. Unbelievably, the CO has not been active since 2011. How has the cache survived so long?
A quick find without the other punters realising what was going on Log still has some sections which are signable but there's quite a pile of shredded log paper in there now TFTC
With a bit of searching it was found. Great hidey spot. Sealed it up as tight as I could. Getting a bit damp.
As per the photo in my previous log - the log in this cache is rather destroyed...
Had the day off work, and decided to go for a walk up Mount Climie - both for a bit of fitness, and also to grab a bunch of caches. Fantastic day for the walk. Quick park and grab as I was leaving the area. I didn't sign the log - the photo will show why not! *TFTC dylanwis #152*
Found quickly and easily. Log is very damp and falling to bits though - tried my best to not damage it any more than it was. TFTC.
GPS lead me to the middle of the field and there was no flax in sight. Looked at hint and then found quickly. I refer to the stuff it was hidden in as 'cutty grass' rather than flax, so that may be helpful to those of you with jumpy GPS's
There was a rather alarming crunch as I stepped up to GZ, and I realised I'd trodden on the cache. Fortunately there doesn't seem to be any harm done, but I've tucked it further back to avoid the possibility of anyone else doing the same. Signed log, etc. Thanks for the cache
After climbing Mt. Climie I had time enough to stroll around this lovely Little park. And there was a nice box hidden here. Because of the naughty weather no one was around and so I could find the Cache without any Problems.
Thanks a lot for the Cache.

Another find out with eidesor today climbing Mt Climie. Perfect day for it; TFTC!
Hi, TFTC! Got into caching whilst visiting friends in NZ, coming from Norway, and has been great so far
Second cache in twenty minutes that refers to flax that doesn't exist! But got there with the help of previous logs. A bit of a sad-looking hiding spot and cache, but nice to find. TFTC.
Down from Auckland staying in Paraparaumu for 4 nights, caching as much as I can here on this mountain and in Wellington and a power trail in Palmerston Nth. This area has been on my list of climbs to do for awhile now.
Came by this one very early about 7:30am, just as some campers were waking up nearby. Fortunately I was able to avoid them by ducking into the flax here. I found the cache more downhill than up, don't know if it has been moved somewhat - cache creep? I did find something veeery interesting at cache site - check out the foto!! Left it there for others to see. Cache container very full with water, but surprisingly the paper was only slightly damp and still signable.

Couldn't find an Ice cream container but did find small rock with writing on it maybe from the container ? Muggled ?
Under the toi toi maybe, but not flaxes. This was the start of a long day up the Mt Climie track so I wasn't about to risk getting sliced up on the cutty grass so didn't have more than a cursory poke and prod here. When nothing promising turned up, it was time to move on.
Looked under flax bushes to no avail so started on Toitoi (pampas) and found it eventually. Plenty of layers keeping the log dry over the winter. Cheers and TFTC!
#760. Headed up to Tunnel Gully for a picnic lunch with the family. After lunch I headed over to locate this one which was just 70m away. Well I searched the flaxes without finding anything. Then checked the other plants nearby and soon found it under a toitoi. So not exactly an accurate name for the cache title but still good to have a cache up here in this lovely park. TFTC
Cache # 2,400 - A quick find today with Mycro Man and Violet Butterfly. Cache in good shape. TNLNSL. TFTC!
12.30pm. Toi toi rather than flax but not likely to mislead. Found without difficulty. Very nice park area - ideal for our picnic lunch
Nice place, couldn't find it first time at 11pm haha a lot easier with sunlight
Easily found once I read the log entry that said that the cache was not under a flax.
TFTC.

TFTC, went out cashing as it was such a beautiful day. Not sure the bush it is under is flax. Long narrow leave with white plume.
Thanks for the cache brought me to an area i have not been to for a while lovin it
Didn't find it - think the GPS was telling us the wrong place, didn't have time to search further - we'll get it next time!
Happy to have an excuse to be back in Upper Hutt today. A nice day and an event cache at Kaitoke. Made our way to this one after making an appearance at the event.
A somewhat liberal botanical reference to flax, and, as noted by previous finder, a veritable swimming pool was encountered on discovery of the container - fortunately the log is safely ensconced in its own little lifeboat!
Once at GZ we made a relatively straightforward find and cache was in hand. All in order, log signed, cache safely re-hidden.
TFTC found with team cacher Sweet P too
The Turtle strikes again!

Nice easy find, container very wet but log well protected in the cache, log signed and returned to it's safe hidey hole.

A nice quick find. The cache was half full of water, the separate log sheet container seems to be doing its job and the log was safe and dry. TFTC
Found it, but not under any flaxes. There are some flaxes about 5 metres away but it's currently under some other long thin sharp leaved plants (the ones with the white feathery flowers/seed heads?) Not sure if it has been replaced in the wrong place or moved downhill with the weather...
Found on a beautiful sunny day. Poor log sheets were absolute mush. Tried to dry out cache and contents. See picture: this one should be filed under "reasons why ice cream containers don't make good cache containers". TFTC
I went there and found it with Mum, but then returned with Dad in Sunday to replace the log because it was too wet.
Found it - very very wet book, wrote on piece of paper & added it, dropped of a travel bug.
Found it after a bit of searching, does need some maintenance as very "soggy" but had fun none the less.
Easy to find. Second of the day. TFTC
Note - the container is not water tight and the log book is VERY damp. This cache needs a little love sometime soon

Quick grab whole having a snack post trail walk. Contains 2 tb but the log is very wet and needs maintenance.
Great spot for a picnic.

was working in the area. picked this one off on the way past. cache wet log wet. tftc
Good find! However the cache was severely damaged by water. If your going this way I would suggest taking a new log book and a bag to store the contents. Would have done it myself but did not have the stuff on me this time.
