As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Solved this one some time ago but then saw it was disabled. Then we were aware that others were locating it so headed out here today to capture it. Quickly found and logged. Had fun doing this one.

Looked at this puzzle and thought ok lets go, checked some websites and thought, hmmm how do I do this? put it aside, went for a shower came and and thought, hang on, whatif and yep puzzle solved. Whilst approaching gz a muggle helpfully informed me that if the Police could read our thoughts we would all be in jail. Luckily the drop down was quickly found while I was still free lol.

I've had this on my watchlist since I failed to find it a few months ago. Seeing Bay7 had replaced the container and as I was in the area this morning I made a slight detour to get my name on the log. I had to wait til a dog walking muggle passed by before I could sneak in and make a quick find right where the hint said it should be Smile

23-Apr-16
Had solved this puzzle & another nearby one a while ago & thought we'd get both today. Didn't read the last few logs or realise it had been disabled until we couldn't find it.
We found a mint tin nearby GZ so added a log & plastic bag, signed & hid according to hint.
I have contacted CO, hope they don't mind. Smile TFTC.

Will check up on this one soon...

Could the CO check the cache perhaps please? Thanks.

Thoroughly enjoyed the puzzle so popped in to see if this was here even though there were a couple of DNFs before me. Alas it is not looking good for the cache as despite a good look with geowife and geodog of the gz and surrounds, no cache to be found.

01-Apr-16
2nd attempt with ID-Man no such luck. Hoping someone else can confirm it is still here so I might return and give it another go.

26-Dec-15
I found the post, I found the 2 rocks but despite a thorough search I did not find the cache. Will watch this one to see if it has indeed gone.

Out and about today waiting for paint to dry. So a wee caching trip was in order. I had to head to New Lynn to grab an order made on Monday and then headed out from there.
Started back to home base and this was on the way. I had solved this one for the MEGA a few years ago now. Nice camo and te log was signed. Nice puzzle.

Thanks for the cache.

Not everybody likes colours -- those of us who are colorblind, for example. Fortunately, I was able to solve the puzzle with help from Mr. Google. But, I did really like the hide! TFTC.

This was a pretty cool idea for a puzzle thanks Snakelion !....Had partly solved it earlier so thought we should finish it off as it's fairly local ...and find the cache ! I couldn't even believe it was there at first....but luckily Ric persisted !!!!

Broke the code, apart from one digit. Tried a couple of options and one fitted the bill.
We were passing today and, although we didn't have the coordinates, carried out a search and uncovered the item we were looking for. Tftc.

I loved solving this one (nearly burnt the sunday roast as I got carried away with it!) I also loved discovering the off leash dog area which is so close to my work. Tftc!

10-Feb-15
Had solved this recently when something fell into place! but prior to that had been looking on and off over the year. Tried different things, did lots of google searches, and head scratching, and then.... Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

I had a lot of fun solving this puzzle and it stumped me for ages as i over thought it but finally had a Eureka moment after getting some guidance from some great geocachers at the Puzzled Out West event. TFT? !!

Collecting some puzzle solves today, as our list has been growing, but the smiley count for them hasn't, so decided to make a day of it.

A quick find at GZ, and a straightforward solve. Nice camo job on the container. Thanks for the hide! Smile

We had solved this Puzzle almost two years ago, but never got around to visiting this area on an earlier visit to Auckland, but today was the day. Parked closeby and walked to the GZ. The additional hint was most helpful as the GPS was keen to take us along further. Thanks snake lion for the puzzle and the hide.

Solved this a long while back with no real difficulties that I can recall but was in the area picking up a Trade Me purchase so it was the perfect chance to make the find.

Loved the camo here. Have never been to this spot before so thanks for the adventure and the cache.

Solved puzzle long time ago and found the time today to sign the geocache. TFTC

Found with el_tonto. Great hide and find! A few muggles around, great clue and such a well hidden cache. Didn't take too long to find. TFTC

Came to go for a night hunt and for the life of us we could not find this Cache. We couldn't work out the puzzle but tried to find gz using hint and found many possibilities which is why we didn't log as a dnf. I returned during the day on one of my days off to an area I thought had to be the gz and almost missed it again. Amazing camo. Awesome hide.

Cache back in place in same location as clue. Mint tin cammoed....cheers V.

25-Apr-14
No luck today, but with clue being so specific as well methinks there might be a problem with this one...cheers V.

Day 3 of my trip to Auckland for the Mega event. Today I was focussing on finding the puzzles that I had spent months solving in the lead-up to the event. I ended up at the far end of Dominion road before returning to Albany where I attended the Mega event. I then returned back to the far end of Dominion Road to finsih off what I had started in the morning.

After spendng the first part of the afternoon at the far end of Dominion Road I started heading back toward the city. I have no idea how many trads I passed or how many km's I had travelled. I spent quite a bit of time looking for the right source of info and colours being colours, there seemed to be a few choices for each.

Iparked quite close and walked into GZ. I had to hunt around a bit before I found the right rock. All is good.

An easy solve and a nice easy find on a Friday evening. A well hidden cache but easily located thanks to the clue. Thanks!

Quick find after finding the things mentioned in the hint.
Thanks.

After a great afternoon at the Auckland puzzle skills event, took the opportunity to grab a few recently solved AKL puzzles before heading home. Searching with fellow cachers made for a quick find. Found the cache but, surprisingly, no log. Having replaced a few other wet/mushy logs this afternoon, didn't have any left (sorry), so had to improvise with some local paper trash. Nice puzzle & nice to sign this one off, TFTPC.

Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.

Had a crack at a few puzzles last night and made a relatively quick solve of this one. Headed out this afternoon to grab the cache and another nearby.

The cache was exposed at GZ so we applying a fresh coating of natural camo.

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache!

To celebrate International Geocaching Day 2012 I decided to just head across the bridge and visit a few caches. It has taken just over a year to come back to this cache to sign off.

Cheers for the cache.

Was up in auckland today to attend the Skills day and thought id also collect 7 different types of caches in a day so that i can claim the 7+ a day challenge cache.

Its always good fun when there is a puzzle that im able to solve. A great idea and defiantly a lot of fun

Thanks heaps for the fun puzzle

Solved this one some time ago now and shot out with stretch.kerr after the skills day event to close off on this one. Arrived at GZ just on darkness and by now the rain had really set in. Used the torch on the iPhone to locate this one. Thanks for the enjoyable puzzle and the cache! Big GrinBig Grin

Nice and easy find, was worried that it may have gone walk about with the increased ground cover, but lucky it was still in place

Found with Cats and Dragons as part of our 7+ a day challenge

Post is more of a stump now. Quick find. Cool puzzle. Cheers.

12-Apr-12
Answered the puzzle fairly quickly with a little help from the interweb.

The actual search took a little longer than expected as GPSr coverage was poor and I mis-read the hint which resulted in me searching the area around the pole. Once I realised my error, the cache was quickly located.

I was visiting a friends nearby and thought I would pop over and get this cache on the way home--in the rain and the dark. This was been in the solved puzzle for a long time now; No problems with the solve. I actually had a look for it some months back, but neglected to log a DNF even though I suspected the cache was MIA--My BAD! Nice easy find tonight with the aid of a head-lamp. I'm sure that was significantly taller when I last visited! Cheers for the puzzle and the cache.

Back for another crack at this one. Went straight to where I was looking last time, but still no luck. Then tried to use the GPS but it took me on a walkabout, and couldn't make up its mind on which way it wanted me to go. Thought I'd double check the hint, and found a lovely new, very specific hint. No problem finding it with that hint ! Although you should note that the wooden post is now less than a metre tall. Thanks for the puzzle.

This is a deceptively clever little puzzle that I had to look at a few times before I had that moment of epiphany. I solved it a while ago and went out a couple of times to find it without any luck. Since it was replaced recently I definitely wanted to get back out there and find it. Today was the day and I stopped by this morning before work to find it. Having been through the area before several times I knew right where I was going based on the hint. It was a quick find and I’m very pleased to have the smiley on this one! Cool TFTC!

Replaced the cache with new camo red bull container and updated the hint.

Will run a maintenance check soon.

24-Jan-12
Solved the puzzle with no problems, but no luck with the cache...there are tons of piles of wood chips. Maybe they have been about burying caches again?

22-Jan-12
Solved the puzzle easily enough, but couldn't locate the cache. Even after revisiting after reading previous logs. Will try again another day. (Did trash out though, lots of recently discarded beer cans by GZ).

25-Aug-11
Enjoyed the puzzle and saved it in GSAK a while back. Was in the area today so decided to make a short detour to go look for the final. Quickly figured out where I needed to be move something and hey there the cache was. TFTC

13-Aug-11
Had a good look after my morning run in the same area and as luck would have it, found it!!!!. Cache is back in place..

Happy Hunting!!!!

01-Aug-11
Checked on this one and indeed it has been covered by the load of tree chips. Will be replaced soon...

Thank you for the update: Tufty

31-Jul-11
I decided to make this a note instead of a DNF because as soon as I was at the GZ I noticed what the Council had done recently. It buried the GZ in tree chips so I didn't bother in a search.

Snakelion, it would pay to check out the GZ.

This was another cache published while I was out of town - it was quickly solved and the other half of the team dispatched during her lunch break, but she was unable to locate it. So it fell into the endless todo list, and just dropped out again today for a quick-ish find this evening after work. Nice idea for a puzzle! TFTC!!! Big Grin

We had out cached ourselves on our caching binge of Auckland, over 50 finds in the day/night, but here was one puzzle cache we just had to find on the way home, stumbled out into the hiding area at around 11pm luck was on our side as the hiding spot was quickly located, no need to use colourful words tonight!! Wink

Thanks for a well presented cache page and puzzle.

What is the symbol for did not solve? We had a go at this yesterday but came up short, which meant I was in the (generally not successful) position of having to actually solve a puzzle myself. Thankfully I clicked onto it right away and nipped out for a quick find this morning. Nice puzzle and nice hide. TFTC.
