It looks as though this cache hasn’t been checked or found for over a year
Looks like there has been no attempt to replace the cache

Came over here this morning for a second go at finding this sneaky hide. Searched all the likely suspects as per the appropriate hints but with no luck. On my third circuit, I spotted the pesky cache but it was on the ground under some "natural camo". Signed the log and replaced beside one of the hints but will message the CO that he may want to come back and put it where he wanted it. TFTC on STreak Day #474
Nice sneaky hide here, had to check the obvious item a couple of times before spotting the nicely hidden cache. TFTC
This weekend it was a chance to start working my way though parts of west Auckland in the company of Mr McC (McCuthan Cache Clan) so the plan was hatched (infact it was a plan from a few weeks before that had been canned due to unforseen circumstances) So now it was a chance to make the most of it.
Caches were signed in generally with MCD (or some variation there off). So off we set nice and early so as to hopefully keep ahead of the bad weather along with the Auckland traffic (which at that time of the morning when we passed through on our way north was most reasonable.
All in all we manged approx 70+ caches and still made it back to Hamilton by 4.30pm which I suspect was a surprise to our respective families.
Thanks for the placement, Thanks for the cache

Out with Cats&Dragons on a late night - early morning cache run. Logs were signed MCCD but may have varied a bit as tiredness settled in. Thanks for placing this cache and giving us a reason to visit
Out and about for a spot of cache detection, taking advantage of a nice day of winter. I parked up nearby and made the short walk to GZ. I peered into the bushes and eventually spied something of interest. Unfortunately, the hide was note forthcoming. Found another likely spot, but no luck was found there. After another look around, the conclusion was inescapable, I was in the correct spot to start with. It still took a few minutes to spy this trick hide on the second pass. I have now completed the "Whau #" series, years after finding the other hides in this sequence. Cheers for the cache placement!
I looked for a few minutes in random places before I re-read the title, then focused on the right spot and found the cache. TFTC.
The cache title lead me to the general vicinity and a thorough search eventually turned up the sneaky hiding place and the camo'd cache sitting snugly, just waiting to be found.
Geowife stayed in the car for this one which is a pity because I suspect this would have been her kind of hide. She probably regretted it too because it took me quite an age to find this one. First I didn't go far enough, and then too far. Circled around but eventually got back to where I thought I should be looking. Turned out I had not looked over the object completed high to low and managed to spot it. Phew.
I was impressed that the new cacher before me had found such a tricky hide (at least I thought it was tricky). If they did find it though, they didn't sign the log. Popped my signature on there and put it back in place - possibly harder than getting it as it turns out. Phew, back to the car - TFTC.

Having already had a spectacular slip earlier this week I didn't fancy the look of where the cache may be. None the less hunted around where footing was easy, nothing. Decided to brave the big , muddy step to see what could be seen. Pleased to have done this as the cache then became a dawdle. Perhaps the terrain rating should go up a point , especially in winter when it really is slippery underfoot ( and short legs cause problems with big steps). TFTC
I couldn't find this when I last visited back in May. Today I plunged in further than showing on the cache map, and guided by the cache title and hint, soon found it. Thanks
Thought we knew what we were looking for....but as it turns out it wasn't......Nice ! Thanks
This one had me stumped for some time! Must have spent a good 30 mins looking with no luck. Until I read a few logs, one in particular about the name...... Silly me, found instantly! Nice hide! TFTC
It took expert assistance for me to find this, don't know how many times I must have looked and missed this one, hate it when you keep missing the obvious. Thanks Gorby.
Stoked to find this one after the last two cachers didn't! I spent ages looking in the wrong area and almost gave up then thought i would try one more spot, gave up turned around and what do I know... there's the cache looking and laughing at me! glad this one is still here considering it was last signed in feb!

Didn't find as GPS co-ordinates seem to be off, but after coming home and re-reading I now think I know where to look next time...
Don't you just hate it when you have to DNF one that the last person logged as a quick driveby? will keep a look out for future finds.
I decided to add a few more smiley faces to my map and this was one of them. Having just done the nearby McLeod's park cache it didn't take long to walk along to this one. I spotted the cache while I was looking in the wrong place, so moved a few feet metres and signed the log
My first logged cache! Had a really hard time finding it until I reread all the info very carefully. Thanks!
Pretty sure we were in the right spot, but we had to make a hasty retreat due to our son requiring a rest room!! Will try again soon!
This was any easy find with ano412. Nice to have a quick find between challenges.
After really reading all the relevant info we finally found it! Great cache - thanks
We thought his one may not be there given the length of time since last found, but it was quickly spotted.
Nice little camo cache - pen failed me and had to hike back to the car and send stealthy son to put it back while I did lookout
Wasn't too hard to find but the neighbours kids were playing close by, so I had to be careful sneaking into the trees
Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
Exploring local streets and finding some nearby caches. Thanks again for the hide.

Have not been down these roads for a long time, surprised by all the new housing (or perhaps not so new now!) The Whau river is just over the trees, liked that they have some seats and a picnic table nearby. Log slightly damp, placed where found. Thanks for bringing us here!
Found it on the ground and returned it to where I assume it should be judging by the location I found it and the name of it!!
Just moved into the area and this cache was walking distance from home. Took sometime to find however after a step back and to review our surroundings we saw a likely location and woola.
Nice find - new log still dry but my pen ran put so couldn't sign - took a photo instead ! Thanks
Found but needs log book replacing, drenched and almost mush. Didn't have anything on me
The GPS co ords were a little off but once we re read the description it was an easy find. The logbook is soaked. TFTC.
Wow , I almost gave up , then ...Wow ! It suddenly popped into my line of vision ! Very cool ! Haven't seen a hide quite like that before !TFTC
Almost gave up on this one, but a last look around reveled the cache. Nice hide but log not in good state. Tftc
Last one for the day, nicely hidden well away from the nearby houses. Found after short search

Got this one continuing on in the morning.
I parked nearby, and some kids were there riding their scooters all round. Luckily, they were off before I got out of the car! Yus! So I went straight for where the GPS pointed, and where I would put the cache, and where it looked like there was a slight mini geo trail.
Took a quick look around, and hey! Haha.
Unfortunately though, it looks like the log book has definitely seen better days. Cache is in perfect condition, however the logbook is completely saturated and starting to fall apart.
TFTC!!

Managed to sneak away during daughter's soccer match at McLeod Park nearby. Nice easy find. Log book is saturated. TFTC.
We can remember when this area was a christmas tree farm. We used to get our tree from here before we started growing our own. Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Another quiet area today, Very quickly found this little guy. Logbook was a bit on the damp and icky side. TFTC.
A nice quick find, 2nd of the series. Logbook a bit icky, but still dry enough to sign - if we had been organised and had our geocaching bags we would have replaced it for you!
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
Spent the afternoon caching with ClanMcPherson.
Quick easy find, TFTC.
Lost my tweazers in the punga below the cache, they might be useful to the next finders!!!!

Took a bit of hunting but mel_ramsay eventually came up with the find. No sign of tweezers but we weren't looking for those at the time! TFTC
Out with evilno9 for a few saturday afternoon caches, and this was next on the list. After a bit of a hunt around, more by good luck, managed to spot this one. Clever hide, TFTC

Found it with Phasevisitor but, as the log below mentions, we lost a pair of tweezers along the way. Someone with a nice thick pair of gloves may be able to retrieve them from the spiky plants! TFTC
Found! 2nd time lucky Last time I was here trying to find it I ran over the kerb and blew my tyre. Good times
A nice little hide here. Luckily i was looking in the right direction as it could have been a lot harder. TFTC!
Quick find but more due to the eagle eyes of friends daughter. I was looking in another direction. TFTC
This was a good little find. Great clues. Lots of nosy neighbors though! We had to be quite stealthy. The logbook was quite wet. But we were able to sign it away from GZ. TFTC.
Quick and straightforward find, thank to the hint. I walked to within a metre of the cache without the use of my GPS.

Found after a while of searching in the dark. I will suggest you move the cache to a more secure location as cachers could damage the plant, and looks as though it will be pushed out of the way easily. I would suggest a more secure hiding place.
