Looks like this track will be re-aligned closer to the school. Access to GZ may not be possible again.
Disabling temporarily in the hopes the track will be re-opened in the near future
Started out at 3.30 in the morning (all good plans start when it's dark!) The drive north was fantastic, virtually no traffic all the way through Auckland to the North Shore and in the company of Cats & Dragon's. We found our first cache at 4.30am and cached hard out untill lunch time. The weather held out for us, with the occasional lite drizzle. A fantastic day, over 60 finds a few DNF and a big hole put in the area.
Thanks to all the CO's who placed their cache for us to find and thanks for the great day!

Today was a chance to head out in the company of McCutchen Cache Clan for a little bit of a hit out around Takapuna and Northcote/Highbury areas. So trying to make the most of the day (and in that what I really mean is to avoid both people and traffic as much as possible. We headed up early and were actually caching just before 5am and were all over by noon so that we could get home to our families.
All Logs signed as "MCD" to conserve logbook space
Having set myself a couple of personal caching goal for the year (or at least whats left of it) I thought I had better crack into it and start collecting so that hopefully the last 6 months of the years is far more productive than the first 6 months.
All in all a great morning was had and we managed to stay dry. Not too many DNF's, a couple of unattempted's as not able to get to them and plenty of founds. A few of the gully's that we traversed were very muddy and so was suitably grateful for the decision to bring the tramping boots to keep the feet dry.
Great collection of caches and some very clever camouflage by the usual suspects. So all in all 65 successful finds today with what the time allowed. I apologize for the rather generic logs but it was a bit of a rushed trip so things started to blur into each other.
Coming in from the east and needing to be fairly careful with foot placement as all the recent rain has made it very muddy and slippery, but soon located it
Thanks to all the CO's for their contributions, thanks for the cache.

Out with trog566 on a little caching adventure (and hes shooting some footage for a project)
Last time I took a wrong turn but with a better Google map layout this time it was much easier to trace the correct route and find GZ nice and surprisingly easy.

What a great hiding spot, we were fortunate to spot it quickly.
This is a beautiful reserve and we really enjoyed exploring it today.
Thanks for bringing us here.

Thanks for bringing us here.
Had a look around before reading some of the previous logs. Once I searched on the lower side of the track I soon spotted the hint item, and cache was quickly in hand. TFTC
First one I've found today after a run of bad luck. Really picked up my spirits. Thanks for the cache!
TFTC! Great hide . One of the few reserves on the shore I haven't been to before. Well worth a visit.
Lovely walk in the park here today collecting geocaches. I like in the description you say GPS reception not good - for us it was absolutely diabolical. I told geowife it was better off back in the pocket and logic used to work out where it would be from the hint. That did the trick and after a little bit here and there I spied the cache in its hiding place. Very nice. Good to use the senses instead of walking the GPSr to the exact spot for a change. Thanks for putting this cache in the park and telling its story.
Yarr, not an easy one,but our muggle friend found it, the hint helped, not much of a geotrail to help though, great little loop trail too, tftc
Second find this morning for Clarksonz junior. Have not walked in the Glen since we lived on Gladstone road 12 years ago. I had forgotten how lovely it is. The paths are better marked now! TFTC.
Out caching with merlot58 and Bertie Blowfish around this park. We started to search where our GPS was pointing, but after reading previous logs, we made quick work of finding the cache on the opposite side of the track.
I was out for a walk through this lovely bit of bush with Bertie and Aiden29. Once we read some previous logs that we needed to be on the other side of the track from where our gpsrs pointed us we made a nice quick find.
Out with Aiden29 , Merlot58, and the geodogs, enjoying the bush. The hint was much appreciated here, as our GPSr's wandered all over the show. Signed as BAM tftc
This cache took a little bit of hunting for as my GPS was putting me on the wrong side of the track and about 20m from GZ, but after reading previous logs I finally found the cache as per the hint. As others have noted it is on the stream side of the path TFTC!
#2703. I was in Auckland again and had a day of leave owing so headed out to target a few select geocaches. Headed over to the North Shore as I had a particular cache I needed to find to complete a challenge cache. Ended up taking the wrong turn-off from the motorway so got to this group of caches by chance. But it was a lucky break as it is a really nice walkway with some lovely kauri forest, streams and birdlife. This cache also proved to be quite tricky. I couldn't spot any suitable trees near the GZ my GPS had determined that matched the hint. So read a few logs and just decided to go off track and search places that kind of matched the hint. This tactic worked and I had the container found in less than 5 minutes. The cache is on the stream side of the path if you get really lost. Signed the dry log and replaced the cache as found. Thanks for hiding it here.
Had decided that this was one part of Auckland that we had not been too and needed exploring. We were very nicely surprised by the quality of the bush. Not too busy but still a few people out and about. Turns out to be quite a rabbit warren of track. Thank god for our GPS units to help us return on the tracks. . Except for this cache the units had us searching on the wrong side of the track over 20 m away from the final GZ. Fortunately we had some other logs.
Yay! Missed this one on the way along this morning but another hint on the way back and we had it in hand...tftc
After an extensive search by myself, garball and merlot47, I was greeted to a call of found it at the very first spot I had searched in, I hate it when that happens!! Follow the clue, the GPS co-ordinates definitely take you to the wrong side of the track. Thanks for bringing us to this spot kiwicouple, beautiful, I had no idea this reserve was so amazing, how lucky are the people living in this part of Auckland. My thighs will be super sore tomorrow as I have not done this much up and down hill for a long time.

Out caching with casaba3 and merlot47 in a relaxed way (not the numbers but the quality and company) after dropping GAR off at a training day. Picking up a random selection of caches, some I'd been meaning to do for ages, others just because, and as I haven't cached in this area before there was plenty up for grabs. Not sure I ever knew this park was here back when I lived nearby in the 90s (GAR reckons we did but it didn't look familiar to me, at least this section). I thought it might be cooler under the trees with the sun being so hot today but the humidity and lack of breeze had us sweating up a storm. SPent ages looking for it and trying to find the hint spot until I reckoned casaba3's inital spot was the only place that really fit, despite being 23m out on my GPSr. And it was - she wasn't overly pleased by that but glad that we had found it. All pleased we ended the time we had today with a find because we almost went back to the car with a DNF. Thanks for the hide kiwicouple!
Whoa - crazy GPS bouncing around.... although we found where we are pretty sure it should have been - and did a "hole" lot of searching to no avail. Ah well, enjoyed the gorgeous bushwalk along the way!
Birthday trek around Kauri Glen Bush with Lisa to fill some spare time during the day!
As stated in the description, GPS was bouncing all over the place and we didn't have too much time to fluff around and guess, will come back another time for round 2.

Really nice walk through the reserve today as I was killing some time before meeting up with Mr Gorbachov for some mysterious multi machinations through the mangroves later in the afternoon. Like others the GPS had some issues with the trees, but like the others, ignored the side of the track it wanted me to be on and followed the clue to find the cache. Nice and dry and a nice little spot - TFTC
#327 Once again GPS leading me astray. Finally found GZ though and all was good.

Was in the reserve to collect the nearby Letterbox Cache so had to find this one as well. Think the coordinates are a bit out, it was showing on the otherside of the track but eventually found it when I extended my search. Thanks for bringing me to this wonderful piece of bush that I didn't know existed & TFTC.
Great to revisit again after 7 years I think.
Thanks for placing this here, added new log and pencil, all ok.

Walked quite a few tracks today. This was certainly among the nice ones - and so much in the middle of suburbia to. Thanks.
#290 - absolutely loved hiking here today. We are here on a two year assignment from the USA and are in awe of how amazing it is in this beautiful country. Today was a perfect day I hope to long remember.
GPS wasnt too helpful here so looked for the obvious thing fitting the hint. Im surprised this hasnt been found for a while. No room left in log though but managed to just squeeze my signature on.Tftc
Such a hot day today ....walking up and down all these steps in the hot sun has made me sweat! Was lovely to come to this area again ....we had been here last year with a walking group but weren't able to get any caching done that time !
Cool hiding hole thanks kiwicouple .....was too busy looking for gz on my phone ...when Ric found it by using clue!
One more cache, then off to work for me !

Thought, that looks a likely spot and GZ may be there, however, on the way checked another possibly and there it was. TFTC.
Lovely walk through Kauri Glen Park & Cecil Eady Bush. Thank you for bringing us to these spots. We have lived on the shore for a long time but have never ventured in here. On our way out from this hide we came across the most impressive Macrocarpa we have ever seen. TFTC
New log book required. Something we did not have in our Geocaching bag. Will need to print some and add it to the bags contents for future hunts.
Had a quick look. unfortunately a muggle walked by so I thought I would carry on to next cache. ;D
Have meant to explore this reserve for ages and finally got around to it today. This was the second cache I found. Great hiding spot. GPS a bit flakey so hint was essential. Log is full. TFTC
Well with the GPS all over the place it did take us a while to find and I may have added some additional mud to my outfit. Eventually after much searching I spotted something that looked right and the cry of found it echoed across the reserve. TFTC #245
A nice quick find here thankfully as there were a few options where this cache could have been hiding. Abit surprised that there was no one around on such a lovely morning weather-wise. A lovely patch of bush to explore. TFTC!
Bit wet in there today arrived at gz to find gps all over the place so gueesed area and started checking..no luck and a couple of slipped trees so after spme time decided as its been some time since last found maybe its buried or gone but as I was anout to walk away I looked on other side of track and something caught my eye.thats worth a look ..walaa cache in hand all intact in good cond...tftc
Found originally as part of rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
Last one for us to find. The upper track was closed, so we came around the long way, then came back the short way, guess it was council maintenance! Thanks again for the hide.

Wandering around this reserve signs show a number of tracks are permanently closed. We were worried this cache maybe out of our grasp, but this path is still ok. A small diversion due to a wash out, but cache quickly found. Special place for a visit.
Took a few attempts but persistence paid off once we got the right side of the track it was easy!!Thanks for the adventures we have had here -we now know all the tracks.
Brought a visiting homestay from Japan to show her some large-ish Kauri trees. Showed her geocaching as well. Knew this one was going to be tricky when the GPS was registering 93m away +/- 103m !!! Walked about 70m past the cache before the GPS decided it was behind us. Even when we were at about the right spot on the path the GPS was trying to say it was 18m away - uphill away from the stream. Ignored the GPS and started checking likely looking candidates. Was behind the 3rd one we checked. Cache was a little damp, but we dried it out and cleaned the seal. Thanks a lot for a nice cache in a lovely spot. We saw kereru, tui and piwakawaka.
Nice walkway through here - you certainly get your quota of physical exercise, not bad for a city park. Mapped some walkways here in 2010. Found this info very useful. Gps signal a little weak but a quick find thx to the hint

The Future Finder and I headed out for a walk this morning and decided that this would be a lovely spot to explore. We were not disappointed. GPSr coverage was pretty sketchy and we were unsure were to start. While standing pretty near to actual GZ I concluded we were on the wrong track (accuracy was ~20m) and wondered away. Soon decided this track was even less likely. But, the FF was keen to follow it so off we went for some exploration. Ended up doing a large circuit, away from the caches, including some new boardwalks over the swampy area, and back to where we started. This time we grabbed the cache in short order, mostly due to the hint as the coverage was still poor. Cheers for the cache placement! Now to find our way to the cache!
Can only agree with previous cacher.. It was not as wet but slippery it was!!! Ofcourse looking in all the wrong places with a jumping GPS all over. Till (again) hubby found it with one hint and no GPS hmmm hahaha
Needed to fill another day on the calendar. The weather wasn't the best to do this one today, really, but I persevered. Couldn't get better than 15m on the gps so it meant one heck of lot of clambering around and hoping I didn't slip over. So the find took a lot longer, was nearly going to give up when I tried more place, and after a bit of poking around, was rewarded with a find. It is amazing that we have so much bushland in the middle of city, still thriving. SL. TFTC.
Was in the North Shore cleaning up a few caches as I managed to get another weekend stay over in Auckland.
After finding GC2NA7P - Bush Waterfall (Auckland), it was time to find the last cache that was in this lovely bush reserve and off course it was aptly named. After finding the previous cache I decided to follow the walkway around to this cache, the walk to the cache was uneventful, although I did meet a couple of muggles on the path with thier K9 friend as I was making my way to GZ.
Finally arriving at GZ it didnt take too long to find the hint object and once I found it, it only took me a few seconds to track down the cache, signed the cache and returned as found then it was time to move on to the next cache in the area. This is definitely a nice spot for a cache, thanks for placing it here and for bringing me to this spot, TFTC TNLNSL (4769)

If you like climbing up and down steps you will just love the path to this one. The clue lead me straight to the cache. Mind the suplejack at the gz it will trip you up, it tripped me.
The last of twenty five on a lovely day's walking aroound Chelseaand adjacent parts of Auckland. Found some lovely bushland and a little history too. TFTC
Just love these bush walks. Had to rely on the hint as GPS accuracy under tree cover was severely reduced. Not even sure what side of the path. However, cache soon found after a bit of searching. TFTC.
Didn't take too long to find, though I had read through the logs before going. Enjoyed the walk, however when I got back to the car I realised I'd left my glasses by the cache. Didn't enjoy the return trip quite so much. TFTC
Last cache of the day. I was heading over from the letterbox, when I saw a sign saying : 'Track permanently closed'.
Now, I wouldn't have thought that this was a path but when I saw that sign it was kinda like 'challenge accepted!' So I decided to try have a shot at it, no matter which way it lead. And so I did!
Path was quite nice actually, and it turned out being a shortcut to the cache! Go exploration!
Now, the tricky part was the cache. I wasn't sure which spot the hint was talking about, so I tried about 4 before spotting a good one, and the right one!

We ventured into this walkway as we were needing a cache find today. We had just found the other cache close by (GC2NHWF) so it made sense to continue down the track. We had forgotten how the track wanders around so it was a bit further to GZ than what the GPS was telling us. However it is alway a great track to have a look around. We soon arrived at GZ with the GPS accurancy not too good. With the assistance of the clue we soon found what we were looking for. TFTC.
A wonderful walkway and easy find using the hint and virtually ignoring the gps once we got close. Left a centipede for swag since container was empty. SINO TFTC
Awesome walk through the forest today and great cache at the end of it....Grabbed a couple of TBs...TFTC
Easy find once near GZ. Cache was empty of treasure so added some.
In: Un Diabetes Tag and Canada Big Foot GC.
I think I saw something Big and Hairy nearby.

After seeing the three previous DNF's by those cachers I didn't hold out much luck in finding this one. I even emailed the owner and asked him to check it out but then decided to try my luck.
As with BaldEd my GPS was listening to Glenn Miller's Big Band as it was swinging this way and that way. Found the bridges OK and searched mainly above the track as that was where the GPS was pointing 90% of the time. Then the GPS swung another way as Glenn played another track (oops - pun not intended - yeah, right) then I spotted something odd and I was off like the "Chattanooga Choo Choo" to investigate. I was soon "In The Mood" and signed the logbook.
Cheers for the cache.

Uh oh! Searched almost every tree within 10m of the track between the bridges and failed to find the cache. Gps pointed alternatively 15m thisaway and then 15m thataway and actually once read 3m when 15m above the track! Read the logs and noted that the 2 previous loggers also DNF'd - knowing them well I didn't rate my chances of finding it over them so I called it quits.
Had a good hunt for this, but both the GPS and hint didn't narrow it down at all. Cheers Gav
Nice spot for cache and a great walk with other caches to be found.

Another one spotted by Mrs S. This is definitely a lovely spot to walk. The stands of Kauri are wonderful. Also a good cardio workout!!!! TFTC
Was getting dark by the time I reached GZ, but had ~20 minutes to hunt and get out. Ended up using much more than my allotted time! - Like those before me, my GPS was a bit mopey and didn't want to tell me where the cache was. Searched a lot of trees before finally seeing a likely site (couldn't see it from far away - maybe would have been easier in daylight!!). Still, a very enjoyable walk and a good hide

4198 Another great cache placement in a delightful area to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our walk around the tracks, as it was still fairly early in the morning we had the place to ourselves. Lovely area and worthy of the cache placement - a definite favourite for us! Thanks KC
Have visited this walkway a few times in recent months but never in the rain. Made for a rather damp and slippery walk to GZ. GPS was pointing down a "closed" track so decided to follow it. Should probably have used the "longer" track but was not too bad. GPS was almost useless at GZ. Had to use my caching intuition to find this one as the GPS said I was more than 20m away when I had the cache in hand. Commenced walking back and decided to use the correct path. I must have missed something as I was heading out the wrong way. Good thing the GPS has a track back feature. Was really useful to navigate back to where I needed to be. TFTC
Lovely place for a walk, been in here before for other caches so this was a nice excuse to come back. GPS led us all over the place but likely spot soon found. Cam came along just as we were replacing the cache so he knew exactly where to go. That never happens to us, nice to catch up. TFTC
