Unfortunately the owner has not responded to messages and the multi is now impossible since 2 of the waypoints are missing.

This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.

Started this OK, but couldn't find WP2 Sad.
Multi's are always difficult when you don't know what you're looking for at each stage along the way Twisted.
We see others have had problems as well, so will keep watch to see if others can find it without paf assistance Smile.
Thanks anyway Canipa.

After wandering around the other week in what is such a nice reserve I quickly came to the conclusion that this is impossible to complete without been given the final coords. Back today to find the cache and yes it is still here but it is quite hard to find. Placing a need maintenance on this so it can hopefully be fixed TFTC

28-Aug-18
This cache is impossible as WP4 is no longer here and maybe WP2 is also gone

01-Mar-18
Having delayed their weekly caching time to visit a friend in hospital, Owl and SA Sewer Rats decided on a leisurely drive to fill in the afternoon.... with some caches on the side. This was one of Owl's target caches. A previous visit had resulted in a DNF at WP2 and knowing that WP4 was missing anyway, Owl reached out to a prior finder and got the coordinates. Avoiding mini-muggles exiting the school was one issue, finding their way to GZ was another, but Owl eventually spotted the cache before they huffed their way back to the owlmobile.

01-Mar-18
A nice stroll past some of the school children.
Then a look at the ducks on the pond.
Time to look for the cache.
Cache spotted by the low flying Owl.
The Rat scurried over to find the cache with directions from the owl.Tftc

A beautiful morning for a stroll around the park. Plenty of muggles around.

Thanks for the cache canipa. Found on 26 Jan 2018 at 9:08 am. Find #5743.

27-Oct-17
Update.. after liasing with a past cacher i got the coordinates for wp5. Wp4 appears to be missing. A beautiful park for a multi would be unfortunate if it ceased to exist. Final cache is still intact. Tftc

I have enjoyed this multi through this beautiful park. However i cannot find wp4. Will be keeping an eye on this cache to see if anyone else finds it!

25-Oct-17
2nd cache and 2nd multi for the day, also last cache of the day. A nice stroll around the park. I haven't been here for about 8 to 10 years and they have improved the park since then. Didn't find wp 4 so paf the final co ords.

Beautiful walk around this picturesque park, couldn't find waypoint 4 so paf was needed to reach gz ! With Sir_Spectre.

TFTC! Great multi around Frank Smith. Were a bit wobbly with WP2 but after finding it we were on our way! Thanks for the effort Smile

25-Feb-17
Having previously struggled with wp2 i got a hint from a previous finder and I was on my way. A nice quick find at gz, though the cache had an abundance of snails.

Being on holidays I am trying to cross a few multi caches of my list. Today I did this one. Nobody else around as it was quite warm. I really enjoyed the walk around the park. I took a little while to find the second to last waypoint but all was well. There were turtle galore in the lake nearby. TFTC

Nice multi i could do with geo daughter briana the explorer. Wants to bring some bread next time. Tftc

Out with my dad for the day. I need to bring some bread next time to feed the ducks

What a great multi! Thoroughly enjoyed this one and highly recommend it. Plus this place has special significance for me as this was my childhood "playground" as I lived in the house above the orchard, went to Coromandel Primary, and also lived in the church on Magarey Rd recently. As a child and teenager I spent countless hours here playing soccer, swimming, fishing, mountain biking and exploring - so it was great to come back here.
Loved the theme of WP's 2-4 too - very apt considering the activity that many people do here. WP2 found easily, WP3 took us about 15 mins as the sat-lock under the trees was terrible but the geobride had her caching eyes on and found it, WP4 was under a rock as previously noted, and WP5 was a little harder as it was covered by sour-sobs (we walked right past it initially). Very satisfied to sign the log and get a smiley on this one.
Thanks Canipa for taking me back to this lovely area, and for a great multi - we loved it!
Definitely getting a fav point. We're dunn 4.

A great little park and a nice wander around on this multi, the creek was flowing well after the rains and the dam looks chock a block, cache was found well hidden, dry and good condition TFTC canipa Wink

Nice spot! Thanks for the challenge. I'm glad I dug around in the grass to find the clue at WP 4 or I would have been disappointed...been trying this one for about...2 months--going to the WP, searching for a clue then come back a few weeks later to do the next one, and so on. Found by the Aussie branch of the GronwoldFamily/Dobie's Pride.

(Updating missed logs.)

Don't know if the tag at WP 5 was meant to be laying loose in the grass at the base of this tree...I suspect not since it looked like it nay have been attached. So, I placed it under a rock and covered with grass so that it doesn't get washed away in the next heavy rain. Needs maintenance if that's not where it is meant to be.

Enjoyed the stroll around the very scenic park collecting the waypoints. Interesting history lesson on the cache page too. Thanks for a nicely constructed multicache canipa!

Just checked up on this one today, all good while on a walk

28-Dec-13
An extremely enjoyable cache. Found all of the points with little difficulty. The cache was easy to find as it was a little exposed. Recovered it with more cammo. Thankyou for making such a well designed multi.

Noises. Our first multi!

17-Jul-13
Really enjoyed the walk, the hunt and the memories of school soccer matches.
A favourite for this one. Thanks canipa.

The trickiest part of this multi was finding a park.
The GPS wanted me to turn right onto maple road, there was no area for my station wagon to park safely in that area as it was residential. Made a good decision to park near the Blackwood Recreation park where the rest of my caching was had after this multi.
I loved the multi & the dog tags.
Was sprung by a woman & her dog at the last stage. In fact, the dog came back for a second look just to make sure there was nothing in the cache to eat.
Cheers, canipa for an excellent winter walk without the rain Smile

#1393 - Found on a morning walk with my father, TFTC

26-Dec-12
Stuck on waypoint 3. I can see that there has been a lot of foot traffic, but I can't find the clue

02-Dec-12
Thanks for the history and the walk. We were going well until waypoint 3, not sure if we had a number wrong or if the co-ords are out a bit here. We were about to walk away from it when hubby spotted the necessary info. We continued on until we arrived at the cache conainer. SL TFTC

Out very early this morning before it gets too hot.

I cleaned out the Scott CreekConservation Park and then a few Beagle caches and then a few on the way home.

Nice way to start the day.

This was our ninth cache and first multicache. It was the furthest we'd walked for a cache so far, which was tricky at times with a wiggly toddler who doesn't like being carried, but we were still able to enjoy the adventure and it was good to get the exercise. The coordinates all seemed very close, although we didn't always the most direct route to each point. The hides were great, especially at waypoint 2 Smile There were a lot of people with dogs in the area, but luckily none of them got too close to any of the waypoints (although they did stop us from picking up another quick cache near the parking lot, even though we could see it!). We signed the log and took the "HippityHop" TB to move on, and also cleaned up some rubbish (chewed empty lolly straws!) that someone had left in the cache. It was a great experience overall and we'll definitely be looking to do more multicaches in the future.

Found the sign easily enough but am confused about the letters in brackets. One digit in the phone number on the sign is also unclear because vandals have tagged it. Will keep trying.

27-May-12
Finally found WP 3 with some help from Canipa. Not sure why I was missing it before. Was a few metres down the hill from where I was concentrating most of my search but I had been around it before for sure. WP 4 and the final cache were easy enough to find.

Was comprehensively muggled at the final cache when in the middle of signing the log a muggle's dog decided to tie itself in knots with my dogs lead with the owner having to come and untangle their dog with the cache in full view. They did not appear too interested. In the mayhem I forgot to return the pen and will do so next chance I have. I think there is a pencil in there anyway.

Thanks for the cache Canipa, I now know this park so very well after four visits to find this one......

Dropped off HippityHop TB which I'd recently brought back from the top end.

If I was a premium member I would make this the first recipient of a favourite point.

Coro Cachers

PS there were some youths racing a go-cart around the Oval whilst I was there which seemed a bit at odds with the peaceful nature of the park, especially with all the dogs running around. Obviously another park user considered this an inappropriate use of the park and a visit from the police soon brought the activity to a close.

26-May-12
second time I've got stuck at WP three. I think I need help........

12-May-12
Frank Smith Park was the venue for todays orienteering event and I used the opportunity to score a find on this cache. My course took me past two of the WP's and the final!

I was a student at the Coromandel Valley Primary School way back when and Mrs Smith, Frank's second wife, was my teacher for a couple of years.

There were rumours in the district that Frank stocked the creek with trout. (This was before the land became a reserve.)

Thanks for the cache and the memories canipa.

I had decided to head for this one today when i saw last night that an appealing TB had been dropped off. We parked in the street but then noticed the gate open and a few cars parked in the park, so in we went. Well the gate isn't normally open, but there were people busy marking the lines on the oval. Off we went WP1 was straight forward, i wasn't sure what to be looking for at WP2 but once i looked from the right angle i was set for the rest of the multi Smile A really nicely set out multi, which just worked (i like the more cyclic ones then those that keep sending you back and forth!) I had decided that it had been worth the trip just for this enjoyable cache, but the icing on the cake was when i saw the key too squeaky's heart was still in the cache. Thanks for the experience!! Cool favourite point added!

11-May-12
This one's taken a while to get through! Finally all the stars (and replacement waypoints) aligned and I was able to finish it off. I used to work at the nearby primary school; there have been a fair few changes since I was last there! Signed the log, re-camo'ed the hiding spot, and dropped off another in-demand TB. Nice work on this one canipa!

25-Apr-12
This one's been on our watchlist for a while due to a certain TB that's been lurking inside of it! When we found out it was available again we were nowhere near it, but late this afternoon nobody had logged any activity so we decided to come and give it a go. So glad we did too. This is a beautiful place, and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed the experience. To top it all off, certain travel bug was still there! TFTC

Waypoint replaced. Sorry for the delay. Enjoy!

Nice afternoon for a walk I thought! Excellent in fact. Been in this park for cache and Scout activities in the past.
Until I came unstuck at the 3rd wp. Couldnt find it anywhere, phoned recent finder friend, still nada. Methinks I misread wp2, which can be difficult in the shadows. A long chat ensued along with help for wp4, still no luck! Then I phoned a friend, ironically same one whom phoned me earlier in the day! And he got me to gz, which I'd walked past twice already. Oh well, dont feel so bad now ive done the extra miles.
Thanks for the walk canipa.
Left 'FOUR' TB and took Bikedog geocoin.

10-Mar-12
No luck for me! Can't find WP4.

10-Mar-12
No worries. It's been a while since its last find. I will go up and check it.

21-Aug-11
This park is quite close to home, indeed we had a cache hidden in the park which is now archived. Enjoyed our walk around the park from waypoint to waypoint. Took us up to a track we hadn't been on before.

Left a pathtag.
Thanks canipa

20-Aug-11
Thought I had better get out and grab a cache on International Geocaching Day and this one was the closest to home.

This is the furthest I have ventured in the park as we normally get to the start of the multi and try and suck it dry while doing pumping and hose training. Big Grin

A nice walk achieving a couple of the new Challenges and deployed a Munzee at the gate.

Grabbed the TB. TFTC. Big Grin

Excellent multi. I really enjoyed myself. Good hides. Nice park. Thanks for the interesting history about Frank.
Thanks canipa for the cache. Smile

12-May-11
Frankly my dear I don't give a damn, I did it my way. The creek is running harder this visit. If we get some more rain it might be a banker.

12-May-11
I was pulled away from a good T-bone, glass of red and a warm room. But hell there was a cache out in a cold park, in the rain-mud-wet slippery grass-and cold wind.

Of course I fired up the torch and fortitude.

There'd be tadpoles in the sides of that creek. There could even be trout. Wow. Noisy creek tonight.

No clear skies though. TFTC and walk. Smile

03-May-11
Checked the multi yesterday. All waypoint are still in place and at waypoint 3 my gps showed 0.38 metres. I am going to increase the difficulty of this multi in line with some of the comments. Also for Information every waypoint in this cache is different to the others, expect the unexpected Wink

30-Apr-11
This mornings activities came to an end at WP3. There did not seem to be anything hidden at this location. I was confused on recent logs to the cache as to whether the WP was actually in place. I might have lost my mojo too. Anyways it started to rain and it was time retreat. We will return. Nice park.

18-Apr-11
Fantastic geocache. Well done canipa

18-Apr-11
Way point 3 has been damaged/ misplaced

Replaced missing waypoint - so re-enabling this cache. Crossing fingers for no further problems.

Also dropped off my new NZ Eaarthquake geocoin.

Happy hunting

Temporarily disabled whilst I replace a missing waypoint.

11-Apr-11
This multi obviously involved a lot of thought and effort. Fantastic, novel hiding places and a good size container for geokid to rummage through at the end. Took a bit longer than it should have due to entering wrong co-ordinates but we didn't give up and were rewarded in the end. Geo-therapy at its best! Thank you Canipa. Took ball, left fun ruler. SL.

03-Apr-11
WOW! Silver for the Allchins at 14:15.
This is probably one of the most enjoyable caches that we have done for quite some time; a perfect autumn day, enough exercise to get the blood flowing, clever hides, and, the coords were all spot on!
Congratulations canipa on the work that you put into setting this one – the result certainly justifies the effort.

Sincere thanks for the cache and experience.

Not sure what has happened here canipa Found the container at WP2 but it was empty so I had to abandon the hunt. It seesm like Frank has placed a curse upon this cache.

27-Mar-11
This is a great cache canipa, we had lots of fun doing it. No complaints from us having done a 4 point multi instead of 5 - we made up for it taking a couple of wrong turns Smile I think I did pretty well finding WP4 without the clue.

I am really sorry tiger-muffin, I fear you may have been on the hunt this morning whilst I was carrying out the previous maintenance. I should have left a note just in case. Please try again Wink hope this is just a rocky start and not a curse Surprised

Yay! *FTF* at 4:20pm. Thanks for a nice walk around a local park that the three of us had never walked around before.

There are errors in the cache description to find WP2. It should read: S35°GF.ED(C-F) -- E 138°DC.A(E-F)(C-F) Enjoyed WP2 - it took us a while to find as I was looking not quite in the right place, but it was quiet obvious once Mr Tardis spotted it.

WP2 took us directly to WP4 (I think) because the clue for WP4 made sense here. Then WP4 led us no problems to GZ. So maybe the wrong co-ordinates are in the WP2 container?

We took a couple of wrong turns from WP2 to WP4, but we eventually worked it out and burnt a few extra calories for free Smile

Anyway a very enjoyable afternoon, and a FTF to boot! We didn't know this park was so big. SL. TFTC.
