Our GPS placed us in between 2 signs. We looked at both pictures and came up with different results. One was 61Km's away and we concluded this was wrong. The other was a better result but after 1/2 hour searching we gave up. It might need to be checked by the CO. It's either out of reach or missing.
After playing a hole of golf nearby, over to do this multi, it took a while to find just what sign we needed to get the information from. Then to search, I believe I could see the cache, but it's out of reach or if it is on the other one it is missing. The CO should check.
TFTC my first Aussie Icon cache. A cold wet day. Surprised by all the windmills we saw here

Find #7350**
Day five of the Nullarbor experience was here. I started in Ceduna and finished just short of Cocklebiddy. The weather was not looking too good, but I was lucky to have a few breaks in the weather to find some caches.
This was the first find of the day, a relatve quick one. A fascinating spot with all these windmills. Final coords were calculated without any issues and cache was soon in hand.
**Thanks to Freddo the Chocolate Frog for the cache. TNLN**

A good stop on the way west and a nice easy multi to boot. thanks Freddo, from us what is from that state that owns what used to be part of South Australia.
Found by Mary & David, in convoy with micaparamedic and Alansee, at 0905. Big ones, small ones, some as big as .... We did pass by here some years ago, but the sight of so many windmills still impresses. We're caching our way to Mundrabilla tonight. Our thanks to Freddo.
A quick stop on the way to WA Goes Big but still time for a cache. TFTC.
Tricky one this one
Tricky one this one
Worked out the co ordinates and yes they were correct found the cache, on our road trip with BONES to WA. But log book was not too good bent folded full, so now there is a log book plenty of room if people use line per line on each page so can save a tree less paper used. So Freddo when we see you next will give you your old log books. TFTC
Counted the wrong one first time, then realised our mistake. Easy after that. Tftc
This was a nice easy multi with the final not too far away. Quite a sight with all the windmills. We will be back soon to play the Nullabor links hole here. TFTC
West Australia 2016 trip. Day 4. After a night in a van park I headed out to check the local granite then continued my drive west visiting Ceduna and stopping just short of Nulabor Roadhouse for a night with the flies. A nice simple find once the maths was worked out ...
Thanks.

Oooh !!
I like these Great Aussie Icon Hunts.
I have managed to complete two previously ...
Brisbane to Canberra and Adelaide to Canberra
The Mother Lode of the series was too good a chance to toss up !!
Using techniques refined during previous windmill chases,
you know ... taking photos of the whirling blades so you can count them,
jotting careful notes down so as not to lose vital information as you go,
and having a few spare weeks up me sleeve to reach the end of the multi-cache somewhere within the ACT,
meant that today I could claim another Great Aussie Icon Hunt
Lots of windmills seen during this cache chase,
more than in both the previous cache chases combined !! [:o]
Unfortunately the distance covered by this multi didn't allow the use of the bicycle this time
But here I am today, in a beautiful spot, looking at a windmill.
And just there at the carefully calculated coords,
I found the cache [^]

4969 found by baby&Mrs gopher at 0945. After a very pleasant night at the caravan park at Penong this was the first find for our day on the way back towards the east. We had taken a guess on how many blades but got it wrong Arrived at the information board and got that wrong as well. Oh another lot of information. Nearly as much information as there are windmills.SL Tnx Freddo
#2292 - Found by M, with B on the GPS duty. Had to laugh when the coordinates were calculated. Tricky with no vehicle and our bicycles were at the caravan park. The logbook needs replacing.
All part of the fun and challenges on our AroundOz bicycle tour via the highest peak in each State and mainland Territory.

A nice quick multi as we stopped to photograph and admire all the different kinds of windmills dotting the landscape. TFTC
Wasn't sure which sign we were to count, but eventually tracked it down. Swapped the container for a new one that hopefully has a better seal. Log book very wet. May it could go in a plastic bag but unfortunately we didn't have one. TFTC. Interesting place. SL.
Catching up on some late, very late and extremely late logs (400 in all)
I would like to thank Freddo for placing this cache. I always enjoy getting out and about to view this great country of ours and caching allows me to do that. Once at GZ, I sometimes find the cache quickly but sometimes it takes awhile to sus out the well camouflaged hide. Once found, log is signed and the cache is rehidden as found.
Once again thanks Freddo.

Out on our trek with &others and pprass we stopped to take in the magic of the windmill county. A nice easy multi. Thanks for the cache. Log book very soggy
As we were staying in town I took the chance to have a hit at the links hole which was right beside the caravan park and then ducked across road to try this multi while I was out. Worked out the final gz and managed a nice quick find, thanks Freddo for the cache and for highlighting these features of the area.
3rd for trip to the east hope I got this one right found container with very wet log.

Tftc. Started badly by counting the wrong sign. Worked it out when my co-ords said 61k away. Went back to signs, worked it out and bingo. We travel back East with another cache in hand.
Off on a caching trip from South Australia to Western Australia, thanks to all of the caching community to make our trip more enjoyable. For the more memorable a PathTag will be left in the cache. So good luck to the next finder.
Today it was the first time I returned to my family's home town for 50 years. I thought I had a couple of devious multi & puzzle caches, that was until the frog came along. I was that confident on where I thought it would be, I failed, so back to the co-ords and work it out properly.

At the moment I'm on a work and travel backpacking year through the world. Most of the time I'll spend in Australia and I'm trying to solve my 365 days of caching challenge during this trip. The chance of having a moving home zone should be taken, as it will make the challenge so much easier.
My current part of the journey is the sixth day of a roadtrip from Margaret River to Nimbin and I'll definitely try to collect a lot of boxes on my way.
No idea why, maybe I was blind or too tired, but I couldn't count the right amount of wings. Luckily there is only one realistic amount so I found the box, where I expected it.
Logbook is wet.. How unexpected with these Eclipse containers..
TFTC and greetings from Germany

# 7862. Today Robmc and I are moving west - travelling from Ceduna to Cocklebiddy. It will be a long day so we plan to stop for a few caches along the way.
Oh dear I do hate to admit that we made this one so much harder than it needed to be. We pulled off the road and we were looking at a windmill on the sign. Did the calculations but Rob said no dice that will take us miles away. We re-counted and came up with the same answer and then we saw the sign - DOH! Counted and reworked the calculation but I still had it incorrect and we certainly got to see a few windmills up close and personal. Finally, Rob noted where we went wrong and oh dear it was all so easy in the end. Hope the day does not continue like this or we will never get to our destination.
It was certainly great to see so many windmills all together - I wonder what a gathering is - a gale, a whisper, a blow of windmills - must ponder on this some more.
Thanks Freddo

Day Eighteen of the WA road trip with BettyBoo3747. Today we started travelling towards WA. We started at Ceduna and drove to Cocklebiddy before hitting the pub and restaurant.
Having done a few of the originals, I was wondering how far this one was going to take us.
There certainly is a mother lode of windmills here! Makes a lot more sense to get the water locally than by tanker.
A slight error in calculations had us a bit off initially, but got there in the end.
Thanks, Robmc.

Heading east across the Nullarbor. Enjoyed solving this one. Signed log and rehid. tftc
10:47:00 AM. Leaving Ceduna and finally heading west. Our trip continues. Solved this from the car then went for the cache. A quick find, signed log and returned. Great to see all the old windmills. Thanks Freddo for placing this cache.
We were originally going to try fishing at Denial Bay but upon arrival the strong gusty winds and 46˚C temperatures meant this proved to not be the most appealing activity today. Instead, we decided to go for a coffee at Penong. A nice coffee it was too and had a read of the local history book which is quite a good read. This multi provided a good chuckle once solved! An impressive stand of windmills. We quite liked this town. Thanks for the cache Freddo!
On way to Perth for few weeks with whitepaws9, laker63, rosejj and 2 partners
The one is more windmills at Penong and see plenty of it along to Perth from Melbourne.
Found it.
Thanks Freddo

Found (17/12/14) on our 6 month trip around Oz with geohubby and geodog. On the Nullarbor for the third time but first time doing caching. Never made the time to do any on previous visits. Making our way East back to Victoria. TFTC
[Teal] As we head from town to town as part of our "Purposeful Meander around Oz" the Rats and the Mini Rats found this cache. Dad did most of the hard work here and the detail of our find can be found in the Rats log. Sorry for the duplicate log but it takes nothing away from the find.

Day eight of my holidays, travelling from Port Augusta to Ceduna, picking a few caches to break my journey, then doing a few beyond there. There are actually two signs at the published location, both with windmills on them. I picked the bigger one, but the maths would have put me a long way away. So I reverted to the other one, which then gave me a better set of co-ordinates. After making my way to GZ, the cache was quickly located.
My thanks to Freddo for the cache.

I think we missed some point here but after driving off we thought about it and found it on our return. Enjoyed learning a little more about life in arid areas. Thanks for the information and the cache.
Counted and fed the numbers to the little machine and did not like the answer. Continued on to Head of Bight and had a think on the way back. Then found it. Thanks for placing a cache in an informative and interesting place.
I've met up with Triciac2 in Perth, because we are taking a 3 week driving tour to Adelaide We've had a couple of fun days caching in the company of her son Brother Colin, but he has now headed back to Brisbane, and we have begun our drive east. We have travelled from Perth via Brookton, Corrigin, Hyden, Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun, Esperance, Kalgoorlie and Norseman. We are now heading east across the Nullarbor Plain
This one had me wondering, as there's a similarly named multi that starts in Brisbane and takes you via windmills all the way to Canberra! I thought we'd only be able to make a start on this one, but it was much easier than expected [^] In fact I was very surprised at the final location And there sure is a lot of windmills! TFTC, Freddo.

On my Round Aussie Trip, travelling with IolantheK from Brisbane, who flew to Perth to cross the Nullabor with me. we found your cache. Clever hide. Enjoyed a lovely visit to the craft shop and museum.TFTC
We normally love the puzzle caches. Recently we had the experience thought that we solved 4 puzzles, all 4 were a couple of kilometers away and the coordinates did not appear to be correct due to the puzzels not being updated to the changed circumstances. One CO was so kind to email the correct coordinates but the others never replied. This puzzle was correct, easily solved and the final coordinates were in walking distance and YES we solved another puzzle. Very interesting story too and an amazing sight. TFTC Freddo.
When travelling the Nullarbor we decided to make our trip a bit more exciting by hunting some geocaches.
Loved to see so many windmills together! TFTC.

Have done very few multis in Australia but we did this one. Didn't use much gas getting to the final and really like those windmills.
Streaky Bay is just the prettiest place and I wish we had longer to stay here. If you go, you simply must have a meal at into the restraunt there M------n, it is so very yummy. A must try is abalone. Loved the windmills a Penong and growing up in the Riverland I have strong and fond memories having our own windmill and running down to anchor the baldes in place, or turn it on or off...AND going down to Nanna or Grampa's to have a bath when there was no wind and thus no water in our house tank. Travelling across the Nullarbour and only a few cache stops each day.
Hardly any muggles around and mostly good quick finds.
Like many others I had a fair idea where it would be and got it right first guess.
Thanks for the cache Freddo,

You're right about the windmills, there are more in one spot here than we've ever seen clustered together before, except on a wind farm and they're not quite the same. Quite a few still spinning, but a lot were a bit sad. We needed to stretch our legs after the long trek from the border, so the walk to GZ was very welcome!

Dedueced the hiding spot after a scan of the coords and had in hand quite quickly, but did go back and check out the info just to see how close we were, certainly a few more in the one spot than a couple of their namesakes, nice little stopover on our travels west TFTC freddo
I think there were more mill when we past through 30 years ago. Still good to see so many. Thanks Freddo.

Day 1 of our Whyalla trip.
The day started good, we got up early and left the house by 1.30am. We were at the first cache by 2.5oam just outside of northam. everything was great until we got 20 kms out of merriden then the car broke down. We waited half an hour for the tow truck who towed us back into town and it was lucky the mechanic had us back on the road in a couple of hours. As we had to be at the border that night we didn't get all the caches done that we hoped to find. we still managed to find 23 and all of those were found quite quickly. I always like nice easy multi,s TFTC freddo

The Parrots are in a convoy of caching vehicles heading to Maralinga.
I am travelling with The Young Einsteins, The Stanleys and Nibs & Auzee
Headed out from Ceduna and stopped to have a look for this one.
I came up a winner after comparing my calculation with the Stanleys.

Hmmmm, this is the shonkiest multi I have seen in a long while . But nevertheless, we were very grateful for the location of the end point. It meant we didn’t have to waste much time – Now off to where it was once 5,000,000 degrees Centigrade
What a typical Freddo cache, but have to agree about the mother lode of windmills. Found in the company of Nibs and SA Parrothead on our way from Ceduna to Maralinga.

Day 2 of our trip over to the Oz Mega event in Murray Bridge. Found on a trip from Perth to the OzMega Event in Murray Bridge. When we first calculated our finals we thought that we had made a mistake and checked again. We were right the first time. Good one Freddo.
Another West Aussie heading for the SA Mega collecting a few smileys along the way. I thought that I had the correct numbers but was a little put off by the distance to the hide. Made our way to GZ and made a quick find. Very different multi. Loved it!
Thanks for the hide Freddo. See you next week.

Last day trekking across the Nullarbor. Woke late as has become our habit. Well actually Mrs Felix barely had any sleep at all, but thats another story. [:(!] Our aim is to get to Murray Bridge for the Mega then travel the rest of Australia. [^]
We camped just East of Yalata last night so this is only our 2nd for today.
The flies have returned to track us down today. Mrs Felix jumped out with the camera and took lots of photos and returned the 150mts to the car, where we did the sums then it was Mr Felix turn to go and find the cache. [B)]
Thanks for helping us split up our journey Freedo the Chocolate Frog.

Heading into Ceduna after crossing the Nullabor on our way to the SAMega event, we just had to stop at this one. What a surprise as we neared GZ, we expected a windmill but not a whole windmill farm! Luckily there was just enough room for us to park the caravan and then the counting started followed by some calculating, recounting and recalculating. Eventually we was ready to try our luck and much to our surprise we found the cache in an instant.
Thanks for stopping us at this wonderful spot.

It always helps to make sure you have competed the equation properly before embarking on a 60 km whirl wind trip to GZ. Found after a brief text to friends back in Adelaide. TFTC.
In the general area with a group of cachers so we all wandered into the GZ!!! Great find ... pity the blackberry bushes near the GZ were fruitless!!
Locuscache had the solution. And the cache was just over there. And the area was slated for development, so they had better get in quickly. So the caching convoy decided on just one more cache. CP Wanderer, Knightyme, Locuscache, Doctor Owl and Ismartis ignored the ‘Do not enter’ sign right next to the probably no longer operational public road and made their way through another Aussie icon – the blackberry bush – to the cache. The ever agile Sushilord was sent over the top to find the cache, but was thwarted by the rest finding an easier path to beat him to it. Thanks for the adventure. Owl will get to the beginning of the multi one day!
Well that had us scratching our heads and going round in circles. Got it in the end.
Now we know why there are so many windmills here! Thank you for giving us a reason to stop instead of just driving through and for the information. Found the cache, took a photo, then camped down at Cactus Beach, great spot! Some travellers visited. TNLN.
Awesome Windmills! My mum's favourite landmark structure !

We were going to be in a bit of a hurry passing this one on out trip way out west to do the Canning Stock Route (just getting to the starting line will take us a week of solid driving) so we "cheated" just a little & figured out the necessary coords from, well, you probably know where. So it was an quick easy find. Almost too easy - whoah, there it is. SL & on our way. We'll do a real GAIH multi one of these days.
Found it with Geo-rge, Miss Jane & EMDH on our road trip to WA.

Good one. Gave the Grey matter a small workout before jumping back into the car...
