We continued today our tour of several AUS states in the NorthWest and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to TravellingStrom for the generation of this nice cache Major Mitchell (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. After using Longreach as a base for a few days, we headed east this morning to get to Emerald by the end of the day. Of, course we cached along the way. This is one of the caches we looked for.Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks TravellingStrom for the cache.

Vdy jet zenj a s divnm povrchem a absurdn nzkm zbradlm. Tady bych teda roadtrain potkat nechtla, to bych si asi cvrkla. I tak to s nimi bylo dnes tk. Je neuviteln, kolik vody na tebe ten kolos v silnm deti hod. S vodou na silnicch tu vbec maj problm, mostky jsou dsn a odvodnn silnic asi nevedou. Vude stoj kalue vody a taky maj vude npisy Cesta me bt zaplavena ! No, to si rd pete, kdy po n jede a pr... Today I had the last part of the journey from the inland to the east coast along Capricorn Hwy. A total of 680 km and the last 150 of them in torrential rain. I arrived at the hotel totally exhausted. I also found a few caches along the way. I think I wrote yesterday's date everywhere today. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.
First time doing something like this so didnt know what to expect but we searched every possible place we could think of and couldnt find.
33,501. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 26. After a fun night camping at Jericho with some fellow Cachers, we hit the road to finish another section of the Jericho Power Trail Road with Happy Feet 1. Once that was complete we parted company and we headed further east to the Alpha/Gemfields/Sapphire/Rubyvale region for another night stopover. We had a great night at the pub there. This was the next one on the list. Quickly found once at GZ. Signed as F65 and A33 as required. Replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs who put out these caches !!
Found on a trip through western New South Wales and central Queensland to attend the QOGM at Longreach, then a return drive back to Adelaide via Brisbane, the north coast of NSW, central NSW and the Riverlands. Thanks for the cache TravellingStrom!

On our way to QOGM picking up the caches with safe parking spots for the van. We made like birds. Tftc
On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. A quick find here after a couple of caching days in and around Rubyvale, Sapphire and the opportunity for Mrs Geo to hit the gem fields. We’re on the road again to spend a night at Alpha. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

I’m off on my annual 6 week adventure and it is back to Outback Queensland to finish off what I started last time but got interrupted along the way.
It is nice and quiet on the roads this morning and I’m now in QLD and the weather can only get better to what Melbourne is at the moment.
After a couple of nice days around Anakie is was time to head to my next destination which is Lara Wetlands at Lara Station South old Barcaldine.
My trip has turned pear shaped as my knee has gone and so there is now very little walking so if you saw someone hobbling around that was me.
Hopefully a few days rest will improve the knee.
Another rest stop and another stop some people would I have issues having to stop at this many rest stops.
Plenty of room to pull over here on both sides of the Hwy.
Boy Major Mitchell sure did get around and all this way from Victoria where I have done a few caches dedicated to him.
Thanks TravellingStrom TFTC.

We had planned a road trip to Queensland to visit family in 2021, but our travel plans were stalled due to border closures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the world was trying to get back to a semi normal state, we decided to have another go at getting away from the cold and head up north for some sunshine and warmth.
Day 8 Todays journey took us from Barcaldine to Emerald collecting caches along the way.
Weather today was nice with not a cloud in the sky so no fear of anymore road issues.
All caches were found along our journey that we attempted unless otherwise mentioned.
Thanks to all cache hiders for keeping this hobby alive and breaking up a long drive.

Today we are making our way towards Rocky as Diane as some work to do there on Monday and of course we aren't in a screaming hurry so we will be stopping and picking up as many caches on the way across as we can.
We have done many caches around the Major Mitchell trail and it is hard to believe how far he traveled. He would have had to have his own cobbler with him as he would have worn out quite a few pairs of boots. It must have been a huge contrast here for them after pushing through the mountains in Victoria & NSW coming across this nice scarcely wooded plains. It would have made travelling so much easier except in the wet.
The cache itself was nicely hidden away from muggles and was found very quickly and the log book now contains our name.
Many thanks for showing us another piece of this amazing mans journey.

After five nights staying at the Showgrounds in Jericho overnight, and caching madly most days, we have hooked up the van again and are continuing our travels. A few days in Emerald where the car will be getting a service, and then who knows. That’s as far as our plans go.
Of course, we can’t just drive down a highway-not if there’s caches to be found. Great work by all the local CO’s for nicely breaking our journey with lots of lovely yellow smilies. Your efforts are appreciated, thank you all very much.

Day ten of my outback Queensland trip and the plan today is to arrive in Emerald by night time, via the towns of Jericho, Alpha, Sapphire, Rubyvale and Anakie. Continuing with my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day and collecting a few more for the day. I do have a list of caches that I do want to collect along the way and probably some extras as I see fit.
Caching on my own again and am enjoying the time and adventures that comes with that. Though most of the caches were easy finds, some did give me a smile and I saw some familiar name in the logs, was I following?
This cache was an easy find and in good condition. With the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

Day 14 of my trip north from Adelaide in search of some warmer weather and a few caches.
After camping last night at Jericho, today I traveled to Emerald, with a side trip up to Sapphire and Rubyvale.
Unfortunately, and despite a good search, I was unable to locate this one.
