Easy grab to build our confidence at the start of the hike. Log very full.

Carnage at gz..looks like he has lost a limb to inner rot.. not sure cache is in correct location as the container was in clear view above...? Log full... sadly this reserve has some really easy to view fine examples of kauri die back on the other side of the valley.

Found it, log was full. Great day out.

Great little hiding place. Canmore needs a little attention on top.

Was up in Auckland over the weekend collecting caches. Took a bit of time to find some and others were just DNFs. Luckily this was able to be found and we were able to add our names to the log book.

Out early in the morning with a few caches on the list accompanied by Nova Lightning. Quickly located while on our way to collecting a few caches around the Albany area

The Mini Future Finder and I Drove around to the south trailhead for this one. GPSr didn't want to play ball at all and got "stuck" at 20m to GZ. By the tine it woke up it was a 50m backtrack. Indeed the GPSr was going to send us too far south this time when a casual glance to the side spotted the hide. Managed to find a spot to sign LC on the log. Cheers for the cache placement!

After walking the Okura to Stillwater walkway (and back) I had more time on my hand to find a few more caches in the area. The caches in this reserve were the last few I did today. I was pretty tired by now but had just enough energy for the ups and downs involved here. This one took a wee while to spot. Clever hide. TFTC, Biggles.

Today, we decided to return to Albany following the Mega weekend to grab some of the caches in the area that we had previously missed.

This was our first find in this little reserve so we were still to encounter all the steep up and downs to come! A quick find, TFTC.

A long walking day with Adventure Collectors at the Mega. Sprayed the shoes and then a short stroll to this caches. very quickly found. TFTC

Found on Day 6 of my visit to the North Island as a part of the NZ Mega event...and I met up with Albida33 and Sol del lune for a day of caching before heading back to the NZ Mega event for the closing festivities. We stopped off to find the first in this series...but as we needed to move on...we left the ones further down the trail for another time.

New Zealand 2103 trip for the Auckland Mega at Albany. Day 17, In Auckland Region, Northshore. NZ Mega Auckland Day 2. Caching with Sol de Lune and Marcus Vitruvius followed by the evening activities at Mega Central. We only managed the caches at either end of this reserve, but it looks like a great area to explore. A quick find after running (up & down) from the north. When i realised this was #1 and the beginning of a series i realised the 'right' mistake i had made a #2 cache! Doh!

Pretty knackered so rang the geo-wife to ask if she wanted to pick me up from this end (she having returned to the car parked at the north end) ... not possible she said "as you have the car keys!" Second doh!
Oh well , just meant i had a good excuse to pick up the cache i had missed on the way through. And then it was race back to the Mega for dinner and prizegiving/farewells.

Auckland Mega Event 2013. Saturday and a fantastic day of caching planned alongside KiwifruitsNZ with the objective of reaching my 1000th find during the weekend. This was find # 952 on that journey. TFTC

After spending time in a plane crossing the ditch, after time in the car visiting Hobitton, it was decided a walk was in order and this series seemed the perfect fit.
The hills were a lot of fun as we discovered Auckland can be quite hot and humid.

First day of the NZ Mega event - a day which saw KiwifruitsNZ aim to secure 7 different caches in a day, whilst at the same time making the most of the Mega event (welcome bingo through to trivia to flashmobs to night caching at Muriwai beach!).

Thank you to Vamber and MuzzaL53 who accompanied us on many of our caches today - some good laughs and amusing stories that will prevail well beyond the event!!!!

Set off on this trail thinking it would a quick way to pick up a few caches. Learnt a valuable lesson about terrain and fitness levels! Was a good sense of accomplishment to secure this cache and others on the trail. A very scenic walk.

I wanted to do the caches in the Albany Scenic Reserve for a while. Today seemed very sunny in the beginning so I headed up Gills Rd to have a walk, I should have watched the weather forecast, because as soon as I entered the Reserve it started to rain. But not too badly, so I did the other caches as well after finding this.

We walked in from the other end as we were staying near there. Unfortunately we had problems with coverage, but eventually found the right area. The little container needs a spot of glue to reattach its bottom camo, but otherwise all good. Thanks for bringing us to this little gem, but it's such a shame about the kauri disease.

Decided to get some fresh air and exercise and grab caches at the same time. This was first on the list and was a quick find lucky as it was raining fairly hard.

I grabbed this one on the way out. I passed a muggle runner just in time for her to see me near collapse after the wander up the hill. I think she was rather amused. I started looking wider and wider, after ditching my GPS. I found a spot and thought, "Hey, wouldn't this be great for a ca.....oh there it is!". really nice hide and well-done camo. I may have to adopt your camo style, as it is really effective! TFTC! NINO.

Had move further a field than what the gps was telling us, plus, had to work out which 'right' the clue referred to as there are two tracks. Got there in the end, tftc

Did this one as a cache n dash. Would have loved to complete the walk through the bush but wasn't to be. TFTC

Out with evilno9 this way to tick off a few caches this afternoon in this trail. We decided to walk from the other end which gave us some walking through the bushes. Met a few walkers on the way but no one where we wanted to be. #1 was the last one for us here today. Nice and easy one too.

Yes, back again. Trying to do one cache a day for as long as I can, means re visiting places over and over. Although I only needed to walk as far as this cache today, I dedided that as it was a nice evening (and I'm trying to get fitter) I walked all the way through and back round the road. Nice hiding spot, had me worried for a bit. TFTC

Lovely reserve. We are form Southland so it is neat to see Kauries of all ages.

It was a nice Friday afternoon and therefore a good excuse to get away from work a bit earlier than usual. This cache looked like it would get us out on a nice walking track to enjoy the sunshine. Quickly arrived at GZ and soon spotted the cache. We have never been to this place before and it is not too far from where we live. TFTC and for bringing us here.
