First time out here for quite some time. Unfortunately a quick check of this cache site revealed a number of changes since my last visit with the tree this was attached to now lying in the grass and a lot of toi toi growing on the hill. No sign of the cache and now i would like to leave this spot perhaps for someone else to use.

Lovely morning at Anawhata, and GZ was nice too. Great spot to perch in summer! Tftc.

Enjoyed the view but epic fail on the GC front. Looked in all the likely looking trees in an increasing area to no avail. One of our favourite beaches so we will be back, with hopefully better luck.

After a nice walk up and down the Anawhata stream we climbed back up to the car park and drove to the beach car park. Made our way down to find this one and continued onto the Earth cache.
I had a whole bunch of TB's with me but they didn't fit.
Beautifull beach.

After tackling the Anawhata Stream, we headed down to the beach. Crossed the stream and headed up to GZ. Enjoyed the walk and the views from the top were amazing. Cache quickly found and log signed. Now to head along the beach/rocks for a few more. TFTC! Big GrinBig Grin

I found this one as the first stop on a loop walk (more like a bush bash) around the Anawhata stream catchment. This is a great place with amazing views and I probably should have stayed here longer rather than blasting up the trails towards Cannibal Creek. It took me a wee while to find the cache. For me, it was an unexpected find. All's good at GZ. Cheers for the cache.

heading off for an explore of the anawhata areas, oh the beauty of being the group leaders, to tell the cache tolerant muggles, that we are going to start with a little wander across the beach and up that sandy hill for no other reason then there is a "cache up there the boss needs to look in to"... well at least they enjoyed the view while he disappeared in the other direction..

Not too wild out west today but definitely a bit grey at times. Definitely enjoyed the cool breeze coming in off the sea. This one was found after dashing around to Surf & Turf, which having done it at quite a pace, took it out of me. The walk up here was at a slightly easier pace. Great view from here - sat and took it in and relaxed for a few minutes after finding this cache and before tackling the big uphill back to the car. +1 fave. TFTC!!! Big Grin

Awesome view after trek up the dunes with FMZ. Stunning view on top - glad it was a little cloudy today so not too hot. +1 fav. TFTC

Having taken the day off work, to go for a good stroll off the beaten track, came back to the beach, and figured a good place to rest was at the top of this spot, and what better reason than with a cache at the top! After a bit of a dig around, soon came up with the find. Sat at the top for a while and enjoyed the view while putting off for as long as possible the slog back up the hill to the car! Nice spot, TFTC

Yes a bit wild out west today with a strong on-shore breeze. Got a bit sandblasted as I made my way up the start of hill securing the hide, which wasn't very pleasant. Thankfully by about half way up the wind was free of sand and once at the top the cache was located in the first spot. managed to get back up the hill without stopping, must be getting fitter.

Found it but forgot the pen. Was not going back to car to get it. Fantastic view!

Awesome day and a great reason to visit one of our favorite beaches. TFTC

Got here after the easy down the hill track and thinking it will be a good way to warm myself going back to the carpark. Amazing views from here and experienced the wildness of the waters because I had to cross that little river before I could climb the hill to the cache. Two options I had, get the shoes wet and walk with that all day or just remove and cross the waters bear feet. Decided to take the second option! After which I ran up the hill to unfreeze my feet. Good fun it was. Found the cache and admired the views by walking to the other end of beach before heading back.

Three friends of ours wanted to go for an adventure in the Waitakeres, so we took them down to Anawhata to find "What's on the Menu". The weather was great, we had lots of fun bush-/toetoe-/gorse-bashing, and apart from a minor navigation-mishap and 200m back-bashing, everything went smooth (well, except for quite some cuts and scratches).
Back at the beach, our friends went for a swim, while we climbed the rock and had a look for the cache. We had never been up to that place. Great views from here.

Was on a few days R&R at Anawhata. Stopped to check on this one after finding a long lost cache in the hills nearby. All ok and it is a great spot to visit no matter the weather but bring on summer

Off for a family trip to Anawhata today. Beautiful spring sunshine and really not too wild, wild today. We played on the rocks and fed the local duck in the stream.
Was surprised to only see one other log entry. Too hard for the drive-by cachers, I guess.
Well, this cache brings up 10 years of caching for me. My first cache was GC1FCA, now long gone. Pleased to make such a great location for my 10th anniversary cache. For me, it's all about the places and the adventures.

Thanks for the cache!

More a case of the Wonderful Wonderful West than the Wild version today. As luck would have it I'd recently moved back out to the west side and had even more luck as I'd arranged a few weeks back to have today off. So with a beautiful day outside and nothing productive needing doing I kitted up and headed out to the beach.

Parked up at the right spot and made the quick descent before trying to find likely options for crossing the river. After deciding there weren't any that involved staying dry made a quick dash across and suffered only a minor chill to the ankles. Quick scramble up the hill and took some time to admire the views for a while before going after the cache.

Found the tube and a blank logsheet at 11:13 and then made a more scenic detour on the way back up. That hill is definitely one to get the heart rate up on the way back! Made it back to the car in 45 minutes and back home to civilisation.

Awesome spot for a cache and as I'd already planned to head out this way again in the coming weeks I'll be hoping for a dose of the Wild West next time.

Thanks for bringing me here Big Grin
