Found cache, but it looks like it has been pushed into the hiding spot too far. Attempted retrieval using various methods but no joy. Would the CO mind checking please

23-Feb-14
No luck today, did find a snake skin, an inflated soft drink bottle, a pair of scissors and a bong made out a soft drink bottle. But it was the mozzies finding Geowife and I that killed the search.

Another day perhaps...

The cache was a little bit exposed, replaced it a bit better than i found it. Great walk around here.

Had a day of caching around the North Lakes area today. We had to wait for a few muggles walking along the track - but once they passed we were able to make a quick find. TNLNSL TFTC

what a tricky little hide. After reading some previous logs we stood back to gather our thoughts and bingo! Freddo had it in hand. Tftc Smile

I found myself reading the description for this cache, having parked closeby and walking along the path. I recalled what a PET bottle prior to inflation looks like and was reminded what PET actually stands for. 'Polyethylene terephthalate'. I always thought it was a great sounding name. The 'phth' sound together just sounds good to me for some reason.

Somewhere among these musings I managed to not watch where I was going and found myself not on the right track and likely on private property. Oops. I set about sorting that out and of course I'd end up bush bashing to a cache that didn't need it on the day I wear my new pilot uniform because I wrecked the last one. Cest la vie for Captain Terror.

Now on the right plane for the cache I looked about. Not here, nope, no, not there, nah, how about there? After a few minutes poking about I finally found it - in the first place I'd looked. I'm sure there was a bat nearby laughing at how blind I must have been. All in good condition as I signed my name and replaced as found. And then took the easy, obvious way back to the car. A nice hide and Happy Birthday to your son (better late than never right?) TFTC ayepeacee Smile

Got to GZ and Matt spotted it straight away as it was 1/2 out. Signed our names and returned it fully in it's hiding place Smile. All is good with this cache Smile. Found with Matt_Eth Smile. TFTH ayepeacee Smile.

Spend ages trying to be a troll before deciding to go through all the recent logs. Some confused me even more as they seem to lead to troll country also!! About to give up and decided for one more try, tracked via the GPS and the app, Geohubby walking over the bridge and me looking towards the bridge. Sat and stared until it became so obvious I had to smack my forehead and shout "Doh!". Great little hidey hole!!! Wink

A quick find on a really hot Sunday out caching in the North Lakes area. Knew from previous logs that playing troll would be a hinderance to our ultimate goal. That left just a few other options Wink and the cache was soon in hand. TNLNSL TFTC Smile

This was intended to be a Melbourne Cup numbers run on the geocycle taking in the North Lakes and Redcliffe area. Unfortunately the CO ayepeacee had played with my mind at two previous caches and it took way too long to regain confidence and locate this cache. Why did I not look in that obvious spot in the first place. Big Grin

Out conquering the North Lakes caches today, we made our way to the gz and I spotted this one quite quickly.

We needed find for the day to keep things moving along. Being close we detoured and got a park within 100m or so. As we headed off down the path we saw the structure that awaited and wonder if this would be a long search. We let the GPSr settle and then checked one this , nothing, then checked the other side and made a quick find (lucky for us). We completed the signing duties and then re hid. TFTC

After meeting ayepeacee the other night (as we struggled to put my cache back together!) he mentioned he had a few caches around North Lakes. After a bit of research I saw they had very positive feedback. Now that he's found all of mine, it was time to find some of ayepeacee's. This was the fourth and final of his for the day.

Finding the cache zone took as long as finding the actual cache. Not being a North Lakes local, I put together a plan and mud map the night before so I'd know what streets to take etc. The probably was I got lost using my own mud map in the labyrinth that is North Lakes. I ended up on the wrong side of the golf course and decided it was best not to walk across a fairway. I retraced my steps and soon found a park in a much better area.

Approaching the zone on foot I saw a great spot for a cache. Unfortunately it wasn't there, and judging by all of the cacher trails down the side of the bridge I had a look underneath. I couldn't find it, so searched beside, before and on the bridge, all with no luck. Went back to the first position and tried again - this time with success! Just needed to look a little harder!

Thanks for another challenging cache ayepeacee. I did intend to finish all of yours today, as well as those belonging to Brightskies and Nyssaflutterby, but your darn banksia took much longer than expected. I'll be back for the rest of your caches, including that interesting sounding multi.

No. 141

This cache took me much longer to find than it should have. I read all of the hints and logs and descriptions, but was still looking in the wrong places. I was also looking for something that looked rather different from what it turned out to be, all because of the description. I actually thought it would look like a mini soft-drink bottle! Nope, it didn't. After about half an hour of searching, with both Geodaughter 2 and 3 falling asleep in the pram on the bridge and a need to leave in order to pick up Geodaughter 1 from Kindy, I finally decided I would have to use PAF. The PAF contact who had found it most recently couldn't remember which cache it was, out of the hundreds she has found in the last couple of months. The other PAF contact, who had found it last year, did remember it, but thought it was missing again. She did point me in the right direction though and confirmed that I shouldn't head into troll country. As I read her text, I noticed something about the bridge that I hadn't noticed before. I checked the same feature on the side of the bridge that the GPSr was pointing to and there it was! If I had spent less time convinced it was on the way to troll country earlier, I would have found it ages ago!

Thanks for another great cache ayepeacee Big Grin.

Sometimes it's hard to know when to trust the GPS and when not to. We spent about 5 minutes or so looking before trusting our own instincts and quickly found the nicely concealed cache right where it should be. Thanks ayepeacee.

Another nicely hidden and constructed cache! I'm really enjoying my exploration of North Lakes so far Big Grin. The GPSr wanted us a little further away, but widening our search and also consulting the logs had us with cache in hand soon enough. Enjoyable hide, TFTC, ayepeacee. =^.^=

06-Jul-12
On our last visit to Brisbane, ayepeacee placed this cache and we were hoping it would be published. Unfortunately this only happened after we left and we have been waiting to get back and find it since then. Turns out the cache was in the first place enzo looked, unfortunately it wasn't the only place we looked. But still, we love these kinds of hides and this was a particularly good one. Churr bro. Found @1100

I was down there a month ago and looked and looked and had to log a DNF Twisted Much to my dismay!!

After reading the recent logs I knew I had to try this one again [B)]

MrGarmin took me right to GZ and I reached down and quickly had the beast in hand. Now I know I did look there last time Wink

Makes me wonder how things like this can happen [:(!], talk about cache creep [?]

Love the container. log nice and dry

Find #754 at 13:58. Palopinto headed a little bit further than necessary as I leaned down and grabbed the cache. I like that container -- must try to find me some of those! [^] MissGeosie then had to retrieve and replace the cache for herself moments before a muggle came strolling down the path. TFTC, ayepeacee -- love this little neighbourhood you have here! Smile

As EngPhil mentioned, I headed down a little too far into troll territory before realising exactly where the cache really was. A nice little hide and a nice little container. TFTC!

What an experience this cache has been..... And I'm not even sure I can really call it a find? After many attempts at finding the cache on previous days and no luck, I came back for another look. After searching for a while, I finally had in my hand what I thought to be the cache. And a small part of my sanity back. Although the cache seemed like it may have gone for a bit of a wander from it's original location. After signing the log book and placing the cache back where I had found it, I let the CO know that it may have crept a tad. Walking away from the cache I was rather happy knowing I had not let it beat me.

But then I was to find out that it was the original cache that went missing earlier. Argh! I still hadn't found the crazy cache that was causing me sleepness nights (well not really, but it was really bugging me).

So here I am, beaten by the cache! With no means of redemption. But hey, I did find the original cache which is now back in operation, so it's not all bad.

Out and about today with Net88 and Brother Colin. It was pretty dark by the time we got to this one, but we were on the countdown to Net88's 400. It seemed like a good idea, as I had just got my 400th, too Smile

Net88 and I stayed on the bridge, and BC took the low road, but he still got the cache first Smile I do like the container Very Happy Very creative use of materials Smile TFTC, ayepeacee.

Accessible from the bridge. Maybe someone could explain to Brother Colin what that means. Oh well he found it the fastest but that was because his face was NEXT to it. Thanks for the cache, another one closer to 400!!!

@ 15:33 on 09/03/2012. This was my 22nd find of 27 total finds on my birthday today.

Found this sitting on the ground near where GPSr said it would be. Very exposed. Once signed I tried finding where I thought it came from - but not sure I did. Might be worth checking it. Otherwise it's all good.

Arrived at GZ and had quite a long search inbetween slapping the local mossie population.

Eventually found it, interesting container, have never seen on in this state before, does make sense though.

Thanks ayepeacee

14-Feb-12
Good hide, well done. Muggles fixing all the lighting halted progress for a while but put back managed stealthily.

10-Feb-12
Easy to find GZ and it was easy to see where previous cachers had been. The area along the path looks like a flock of turkeys has been through it. Had to wait for a muggle who was interested in the golfers before starting a search. He finally got bored and I started looking, and looked and looked and looked. I, too, found the electric motor winding but the cache took much longer to locate. Signed the log and replaced the cache and was just packing up my gear when the mossies arrived by the millions. Left there in a real hurry.

After 15 minutes of unsuccessful hunting I made a call to a friend and I was given a hint on finding it.

I had already checked that spot earlier and as I returned for a closer inspection I was muggled by a cyclist who turned out to be the cache owner who informed me that the cache was missing and it had been taken off line only hours before I arrived.

Well, at least I know where to look next time.

I have had this patch of the North side on the radar for a little while and really wanted to tick them off. This morning, teamed with new recruit Bubbly_One, we set sail to turn them into smileys... [^]

A little after 0530, we arrived close by and wandered in. There were a few likely spots but one was spotted quickly. I reached in and secured the find while my off sider was still zeroing in. In fairness though, this was her first "different" hide but one of many she would be availed of today... Wink

Nicely placed in a nice area.

Cheers ayepeacee

Arrived at GZ no prob. Then had a few funny readings so started looking in surrounding area. After finding 7 golf balls and coming up close to a live owl in a tree we were ready to quit, thinking perhaps the cache was muggled.

After half an hour searching GC daughter wanted to take one final look thru the bush, so whilst waiting I thought about where I would hide it. The places were a little exposed and then I had my "Ah ha!" moment ... and there it was. Yeah!!!

Sneaky little hide. Thank you so much for an enjoyable time.

20-Aug-11
I searched here and there and here again, above and beyond the terrain rating with no luck. Read the description, read the logs. Still it evaded me!! Luckily nobody else was enjoying the path today. Finally it clicked that well I hadn't actually looked there yet and sure enough, there it was, safely tucked away. Arrgh - seriously poor searching technique from the Loki Wink. Interesting container - I had no idea that was how the bottles were made! Very neat. Thanks ayepeacee

Found as a few muggles were teeing off on the nearby tee.....Fore. Thanks for the cache and showing us this nice bike track through North Lakes, ayepeacee.

I had read the logs on this one previously and was in for a bit of a fight methinks. I had been beaten by ayepeacee's hides before.

No one around after dark when I approached... thankfully. Initially, all I could find was two sizeable huntsmans Surprised I hunted about for a bit and then I noticed something. Is it? Could it be? Ahh yes.. the cache. That is indeed the first time I have ever seen that kind of container - effective as it is.

A well crafted cache and a sneaky little hide. TFTC ayepeacee - and belated happy birthday to you son Smile Congratulations to jasenjanine for getting FTF recently Smile
