Solved this puzzle a while ago, as our boarder father lives in Tirau. Now passing we could just park our campervan close to the bridge.
Looked everywhere and finally found it. It did trick a bit as it was not magnetic (anymore).
Thanks for the puzzle

Interesting puzzle requiring some research to crack. Had to jiggle a few numbers before finally earning a green tick. In the area today so stopped in to make a super quick find. TFTPC.
Solved the puzzle on the way down to Tirau while stopped for a cup of tea. Found we couldn't walk to GZ safely from in town, so drove down and managed to park, but had no luck with the find. Will have to come and look again next time we are passing: now I've read ALL the logs I may find it a little easier.
We were staying at the campsite at the Okororie Hotel & headed to the I-Site in Tirau where we were able to get the answers to all the clues, (The lady was very helpful at the I-Site).
Once at GZ we began to wonder if we were in the right location. A quick search proved that we were but the cache was severely wedged in position and we could not get it to budge
Back at the car I got hold of a large screwdriver to carefully push the cache free which eventually worked. The cache sustained no damage as a result & after signing the log we returned it back in its hiding place making sure it wasn't jammed tight again.

Very awkward position, next person might want to bring a longish strong stick to get it out as it is jammed tight.
I solved this many moons ago and today was my first opportunity to visit GZ. I had my hands on the cache very soon after arriving but it took me quite a few minutes to winkle it free to sign it. It was quite interesting driving through Oxford after more than 14 years since I last passed by. The town seems to have erupted with corrogated signs everwhere. I can remember only the big dog and the big sheep being here. TFTC.
After a DNF close by, we really wanted to have this found. I had solved the puzzle a few weeks ago, but hadn't brought my puzzle solving book, so I researched the answers in the car on our way. A couple of answers were a bit ambiguous, so I got a few red crosses before finally getting the green tick and the hint.
We parked nearby and expected a straightforward find, but after much searching everywhere and lots of reading of past logs, we were still none the wiser and had to concede defeat, but we will keep an eye on this one and next time we are passing...

Fun time solving the questions, then took over an hour to find the cache...! Spent loads of time thrashing around under the bridge before reading ALL the old logs and realising possibly had it wrong. Searched nearby to no avail, and hopped in the car to leave. But, I hate being beaten by a cache so I started my search again and found it somewhere I swear I'd searched thrice already! It should have been so easy, no idea why I made it so difficult lol!

Cruising from Taupo to Whitianga. Solved at home a while back. Took a while to find, especially as I did not look hard enough in the first place I looked!. Thanks for the hide
Solved this some time ago and decieded that it met the requirements for a particular stage of the GCLS.
Soon in hand and off once again

I solved the puzzle at home before we left for the holidays. Arriving at gz I initially thought I had made an error somewhere - but the geochecker had given a green light! Container was a bit different from the ones usually used in these locations

Great to be in the area after the mega event collecting caches with tmann421 tftc
Had the clues sorted in advance - as suggested, an easy find with coordinates in hand. TFTC
Solved the puzzle many sleeps ago and then forgot having done so. Happened to pop into town for brunch and this puzzle popped up on the screen to remind me. Hint had me puzzled for a short while but have learnt to trust the GPS. No dramas in the finding, just a lot of traffic to negotiate. TFTC

So two days wasn't enough for us to get our fix so we're out again. Hoping to pick up where we left off yesterday before the bad weather got the better of us.
After lunch it was time to pick up some stragglers hiding in the middle of nowhere. Decided this morning where we were going to head to and this popped up on the list so decided we had better solve the puzzle. Nice and quick and a relatively quick find, if you remove the time it took for the coast to be clear to be able to grab it and replace it. Loved the mural too.
#12 for the day.

Worked out the puzzle a while ago but don't come this way often, but great to learn a bit about the town. TFTC
Worked out the clues with the help of the internet this arvo. Quick stop on way home. TFTC
Had solved the puzzle at least a year ago and remembered to stop this time to do the business. TFTCSL
Wondered why bkj97 veered off the highway as I was hanging out for coffee and cake in Tirau. Aha it all became apparent. T4TCSL
The local knowledge was not up to scratch, but thanks to our man Geoff at the Tirau Museum.TFTC
Great challenge. Helped out by the friendly lady at the info centre. Final cache well hidden.
Not the most obvious of finds ... but took a few steps back and soon found it. TFTC.
finding this cache was the big goal of today - arrived at GZ and looking at the hint I was more than a little puzzled... so taking my GPS in hand I followed my nose and came up with the goods. t4tc
Admired the mural plenty before realising what I was meant to do. Once focused on the job at hand, the cache was quickly retrieved, log signed and cache returned to location. TFTC
Came with the puzzle numbers and the cache was soon revielled. Enjoyed the reasearch to gather the numbers. TFTC
First time in the area since solving a very long time ago. Had a bit of a jiggle with some of the numbers to get a green tick bit we got there in the end. TFTC
Mrs S found it while Mr S was rummaging around underneath playing Tarzan, after misinterpreting the clues. Liked the mural. Dozens of fast moving muggle traffic so easy to retrieve but rather difficult to hide after signing log. Had to wait for a break in the traffic. TFTC.
This was a very fun puzzle to solve and I learnt a whole lot about the area. Got a couple of my answers wrong as google and wiki were not playing fair. Emailed the CO and had a response super quick. Thanks for the help and the good cache.
I had solved the puzzle long ago at home and called this morning on my way north to complete the find. Missed it the first time round, found a bit later after exhausting other likely spots and coming back for another try. Signed log, TFTC.
Impressive mural! Good to finally sign the log on this long-since solved puzzle too, TFTPC
On arrival we thought we knew where it was going to be. But no! not quite so obvious. Got tooted at when retrieving the cache [?].
Solved this one ages ago and finally made it through to complete the paperwork today. Quick find at GZ. TFTP&C!
Finally manged to remember to take the co-ords for this one so make a quick grab on the way over to "Wingspan". Thanks for the history lesson for the local area, TFTC
Returned to Tirau to wrap this one up. Solved the puzzle last weekend, but ran out of time to find the cache. Success today. TFTC.
Turned out to be easier than expected but much noisier than expected. Even got a few toots! TFTC.
A nice easy puzzle for a change from the puzzle master. He must be getting old!
Many thanks
Many thanks
8842 The interesting things you learn about a town, we always enjoy our stopovers at the Place of many Cabbage Trees, love the corrugated artworks. Co-ords were spot on, found by touch rather than sight. Many thanks for the puzzle and cache.
GPS not being very acurate and ran out of time on this one. Will be back another day.
Eventually got the right answers to the questions - depends where you look. Good find
Quick revisit on our way to Hamilton --- and we can't believe that it was so easy this time and didn't see it before!!!
Thanks for the puzzle and the interesting history of the area and TFTC!

Took a couple of attempts to find the right answers. Traffic was a little busy but had momentary gaps where I could grab the cache and replace without being seen.
Enjoyed learning about the area, so much so we had to look into it further! Interesting to learn about the 'young' history of NZ. Oh, and we didn't find the cache at GZ .
On the way to National Park for the much anticipated Tongariro crossing and decided to tick off a few caches on the way. Nice spot for little stopover.
Easy find after little help with the puzzle.

Had a road trip planned for the weekend to do the Tongariro Crossing with a group of friends and wanted to add a couple of puzzles to the list of caches picked up on the way down. Did the research in advance and pulled in for the look in the afternoon. Over complicated this one much more than need be but found the cache when double checking a couple of options. TFTC
Pulled up to this one and the GPS was bouncing around a bit. Headed off in the wrong direction to start with, but once we rethought things we retraced our steps and soon had the cache in hand. Given I had been sitting rite next to it at one stage glad we found it!! TFTC
At long last stopped and did this one after solving it a long time ago. Nice puzzle and I learnt a lot about "place of many cabbages". TFTC
Stopped on our journey today to find this one. Thanks to panda22 for solving the puzzle for me TFTC.
Solved this one some time ago, but hadn't got the opportunity to collect it. Passing through the area today we realised we didn't have the correct co-ords with us. Did a quick re-solve on the way, and once at GZ had the cache in hand after a short search. Thanks for the history and the puzzle smiley.

#3115. Good to get another puzzle Troodles had solved before the trip. TFTC.
I had trouble with one of the questions, I think I made a guess in the end.
We also had trouble with the hide, StreetWalker examined the most likely place, but found nothing. I remembered that there was extra info, but it was back in the car. While he went back to retrieve the info, I found the cache - in the obvious spot.
Have now cached out Tirau!

#2595. Mrs h solved most of the puzzle, except one. Mr h found the missing answer and the cache. TNLNSL. TFTC and puzzle.
Over complicated this one and crashed about under the bridge before coming to my senses!!
Managed to solve this small and simple puzzle a while back and this one of those caches that I have being meaning to do once I had a chance to come this way, finally after finding out that I had the opportunity how could I resist. Arriving near GZ on my way heading north, I managed to find a car-park not far from the final GZ and realised what the name of this cache was all about. A quick walk to the final GZ and really no issues here in the end as it really didnt take too long to find the cache, but I really like the nearby cabbage trees never seen the likes of this before as I thought to myself, but they were cool all the same, another great spot for a cache, thanks for bringing me to this lovely location and this very well themed puzzle, TFTC TNLNSL (3547)
Had this ready to go for a while but not been in the area. Not a easy road to cross.
Last find of the day, it tried to trick us, but jillopy had soon grabbed. TFTC!
Worked the puzzle out on the trip down. The cache find and log took a lot less time than getting back out of the park and into the holiday traffic again. Thanks for the history & TFTC.
Stopped by to help Mrs FAP as she had locked her keys in the boot of her car ... oh the excitment of finding a cache, out goes common sense
(sorry for the late log)
(sorry for the late log)
5.20pm - Not just a place of many cabbage trees but a place where Mrs Fap locked her car keys in the boot. Thanks Eruptn for your help and support I think the tow truck man would have missed the All Black game if it wasn't for you and Mr Gap. SLTFTC
A nice easy puzzle which is good for those who are puzzle challenged! We were a little confused as to where to start looking but luckily chose the right spot fairly quickly.

Wasn't quite where I expected it to be, nice puzzle, and a nice break on the drive north
I should have check the terrain rating before I went traipsing off all over the place TFTC
Crusaderwoman did the puzzle (I helped with the hard bits) and we found the GC in time to go up the road and have a well-earned coffee and muffin. TFTC.

Woohoo, on the podium!!
We passed through Tirau on our way to Hamilton to attend a birthday dinner (for which we were running slightly behind time) and contemplated finding this cache on the way, we had passed GZ by a few k's when we clicked where it was and decide to postpone it by a day, a quick find for us today, now off to Te Aroha for a few more Munchies.....

I am responsible for the red crosses- the first one being because I made a stupid error! However I can't see where I have gone wrong with the other ones. I immediately recognised the area before doing any research. I notice that one source does give information which conflicts slightly with the solution for A but fortunately does not affect A itself, I am wondering if other sources might have slightly different information too for the others. I will do this later when I have time (which is not now!) and if I come up with the same coordinates will email the owner with sources.
Academic exercise anyway probably, though I will be in the area within the next few months I will be in hired transport with muggles who may or not use the required route but even if they do will not be likely to stop while I hunt for a cache!
Thanks for the interesting background to this place which I have passed through a few times and not known much about.

A pleasantly easyish puzzle! Knew a few and researched a few...although did turn up a couple of options for last digit.
Got to GZ though..the artwork near the cache is a real credit.....to Mr CK?
Watch those fingers on the corrugated iron edges. TFTC
