TFTC!Making a trip to Karoonda today and stopped to pick up a couple caches along the way.A nice hiding spot here.My grandparents used to say this hall was quite popular back in the day for dances!

Finally got decent reception and using offline list. This one needs watching as the log book is looking a bit fragile. Thanks for the cache.
Geoturtle37 and I are making our way towards The Great Leap Forward. A mega being held just out of Adelaide on February 29th 2024. She is very keen to get a mega on a leap day. There seems to be a lot of Victorians heading across to attend. This was a nice quick find. Log signed, all replaced and we were on our way again. Thank you for this cache.
It’s a beautiful winters day and I have the day off work so I ventured down to the Murray Bridge & Tailem Bends areas for a day of caching.

Day 14 of our loop through Vic and SA then home.
Today fitzy_1965, albida33 & I headed out early to get the caches in the area. We signed as MAF or FAM to save room.
Our aim was to collect the nearby Challenges, then the River & Peaks series and anything in between. Once we understood the hints on the River series, it made the finds so much easier….a clever idea. A great day with no DNF’s.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 14. Today we headed out to drive the Straya series of Challenges plus we also managed to complete the Australian Mountain Peaks (AMP) and South Australian Rivers (SAR) series with a few bonus caches thrown in. A great days caching with no Did Not Finds which was also a bonus. This was the next find of the day, and a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.

Apologies for the generic log
On a fine Saturday I set out with Southern Cross Caching an Uni and Medusa for a day around Murray Bridge. There were a couple of new series published recently and it seemed like a good place for a day out.
We started at the Lonely Lookout Cache, and I think this is the third cache I've found in this location over the years. Then went on to Slow Mail, and a few others around Eastern Murray Bridge.
After an average coffee at OTR we started the Australian Mountain Peak series, with a short side hussle for some bush fishing and then to Sunnyside. Its been years since I found the other cache at Sunnyside, and glad to see its still there. As a kid we used to live nearby and my parents would go skiing and fishing here with friends. I also spent a lot of time hanging around footy ovals on Saturday afternoons while my dad umpired the local games.
Following on from the Mountain Peaks we ventured on to the SAR series. I was thinking South Australian Railways, but it turned out to be rivers. I am surprised that dry South Australia has so many rivers!.
Turning back towards Murray Bridge we caught up on some of the more recent Wandering Heroes, I have met and know a lot of the heroes, but some are still just names and I hope to meet you in future.
Then on to the Hairy Armpit Series, but I misread that and it seems its Happy Armpit Series. The former is funnier
Getting late in the afternoon we still had an hour or so of daylight, so started on the Oz Mega Signal series. This was interesting because I remember riding my bicycle along this stretch of road in the 1970's as a 9 year old participating in a cub camp. We had to ride from Murray Bridge to a farmhouse near where we spent the night in a shed in the farm that fronts number #66, then rode to Jervois Oval the following day. All roads being gravel and having skinny tyres it was a long and grueling ride for a 9 year old. And the night was freezing.
All caches were found except for one DNF, and on the last three caches the rainstorm had finally hit and we were drenched, and it was completely dark. Finding a cache by torch in the bush in the dark in a wind and rain storm, well it stopped being fun and we decided to leave the final cache for another day. Over 200 caches found and this helps with a challenge cache that I've found but not logged in Victoria.
Thanks firesafe for placing and maintaining the cache

Found at 14:04 on what started out as a perfect caching day with Shonkylogic and Southern Cross Caching. Perfect right up to the last three or so, where it was getting dark, cold, windy and rainy. In the end, that defeated us, even though there was just one cache left in the plan.
We had lunch somehwere along the Karoonda Highway at a picnic table, sandwiches supplied by Southern Cross Caching, chilli sauce supplied by Shonkylogic. The mozzies were a bit troublesome, but nothing compared to SXC's encounter with a snake.
It was so good to get out on one of these runs. There were plenty of old caches which have been on the must-do list for years, but also some newies.
Thanks for the hides

This one was found on a big day out with shonkylogic and Unicycle. Our plan was to knock of the AMP mountain series along with the South Australian Rivers series, then head for the old 2014 Signal series. We almost achieved our goal of all three (after a few additions to the plan) which included a bush fishing expedition, a submarine hunt, quite a few wandering hero’s (including one up a tree) and several other caches here and there along the route but not far out of the way. We also found two down on the river bank at Sunnyside, which was one of several highlights for the day. We started around seven AM and finished after dark in pouring rain and a howling wind which put an end to our day as it was no longer fun, falling short of finishing the signal series but not before reaching a milestone of over 200 finds for each of us for the day. We only had one DNF for the day which was a great find to DNF ratio.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Thanks firesafe for the cache and information. This building does look country hardened, quite a stark exterior, so I am glad there is a cache here to brighten things up a bit. Quickly found while I was on a little tour of the neighbourhood. A very productive day out. Cache in good condition

Staying in Murray Bridge for a little while, so came here first up today with ilook4geo. Found this cache easily as it was located in just the right place. Had to keep moving today as the weather was looking quite grey. Two more lots of initials were written hastily on the log, all was put back into place and we got moving on again. Thanks to firesafe for adding this cache to the game for us and others to find.
Out on a caching run this morning with goingplaces2. Found a reasonable amount, but had to stop before lunch time when it started pouring rain. The wind was also quite wild, so it was not a great day. Did get some smileys though, which was good. This is one of the caches we found. TFTC.
Today we formed a small team to tackle a section of the Wandering Heroes series between Loxton and Karoonda. It was an early morning start today, and before we started the main part of the day, @gridge98 and I did a few of the lost heroes caches whilst waiting for FeatherWaite and GoodLook.

found with jacknor on the return from doing my own wandering hero's cache. A quick find starting on the lost hero's and slowly heading home. Some of the containers have been just replaced by the co's, a few others where found broken and containers replaced with still the original logs. All caches where found.
sir_spectre wanted to come down and find his wandering hero's cache. He invited me along for the trip. We stopped at the puzzles and did 1 multi before the dust storm got worse and made driving down to 60 km's for a while before making it to his cache. Then the thunderstorm hit and it bucketed down with rain till we drove back to the lost hero's trail and we completed that with almost no rainfall.

Out caching with Hevwalker, Mandy and CP today. We started with placing a very special GEOPET cache and then headed to the Wandering Heroes.

Cache # 42 of 221 for this long weekend.
The Parrot was on a roll to try and get closer to the 10, 000 mark as this last 500 seems to be taking forever.
Unfortunately the knee didn't hold out and I had to retire from the field.
If you have stitches in your knee you really should cover them over before pushing though bushes.
I had a fantastic time cashing down some trails that have been in GSAK for far to log,
I worked on the Oz Mega, OTD, Geopets and Wandering heroes series over 2 days.

Found by the intrepid trio. Didn't bother with the GPS on this one. The hint was enough, but then again I did pick the right side of the building to park.
With such a good clue didn't really need to take the GPSr with us as our guess turned out to be the right spot! Found on a cold and wintry Easter Monday with messy61 and labchick. Cache #2122.

On a SA geocaching trip and today we are searching for some of the Wandering Heroes plus some of these along the Karoonda Road. Was a very hot day so only out till lunchtime. These old tin halls must have a few tales to tell!! Thanks for placing caches in these interesting places.
On a 10 day geocaching holiday in SA from Brisbane with my sister JooJoo57. Nabbed this one on the way back home for the evening. Weary cachers ready for dinner and drinks!
Out for yet another weekend of hanging out and caching with Sylken. The plan for this weekend was to take another crack at the Wandering Heroes power trail (when we made our first attempt in January 2012 we foolishly thought we might tackle the whole thing in one day!! Lol! The series was only abut 160 at that time...) When the temp is 35C, that seems rather unrealistic... It was 35C the first time we attempted this series, and 35C again today... it seems that we're starting to make a habit of hot caching expeditions. But now the powertrail has upwards of 300 in it, I think anyone would be hard pressed to bag that many in one day!
We still didn't manage to complete the trail, so we'll just have to see if we can find another 35C day to get the rest...
Thanks you to all the cache owners for their recognition of fellow cachers, and their efforts in hiding and maintaining the series. An honourable mention to CPWanderer who started this whole lark off in the first place

We are currently staying in Murray Bridge for a few weeks attempting some of the many caches available in the area. Geodaughter KAROPI joined us here for a second run at the Wandering Heroes series....our first was in January 2012. The series has expanded somewhat since then so we had endless opportunities
We finished the day with 114 finds and not a single DNF. Some caches are particularly inventive and a great tribute to the teams they are honouring. It is so nice to do a big power trail and have various types of hides....I guess the benefit of having lots of different CO's
As usual with power trails we too are writing a generic log, just adding a few extra words to caches that needed extra comments. That however doesn't detract from the gratitude we feel for all the CO's that have hidden caches along this trail....thank you one and all.
We had just finished our days run on the series but stopped by to grab this second to last hide on the way back to Murray Bridge. Thanks firesafe[^]

Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
We headed down to South Australia for a few days of caching, and the Wandering Heroes series was next up on our list, with a few other caches in between We started off nicely and early today before hitting the trails, and after a slow start, we soon picked up the pace, and were on a roll Many of the them were quite unique, and as most had good hints and obvious hides, we managed to get them knocked off quickly We enjoyed these caches, as they were all pretty straight forward, and it never took long to find each cache We managed to finish off the day with only a few dnf's too

And now I have visited the Chapman Bore Hall. Strike that off my Bucket list. TFTC.
It was time for specimenX and myself to head back to Murray Bridge to do the Signal PT and some of the Wandering Hero's. It was a 2 hour drive there and we arrived and went straight into the Signal series. We were suprised at how they were scattered and doubted a few of our answers but it seems we had them all right and we found the whole lot. We then headed off for some lunch and collected a couple of Oz Mega 2014 caches that had gone astray on our last visit.
Murray Bridge was almost a ghost town compared to the Easter weekend. We were still looking for the Kookie magnets (habbit now lol) and we were kinda missing all the geomobiles with their flags flying high. Seems Murray Bridge was back to BAU and we were once again engaging stealth mode for our activities.
Once we had eaten, we decided to try our luck and do as many Wandering Hero's as our bodies would allow. specimenX was like a bull at a gate, just kept going and going and going. We evetually called it quits at a daily total of 204 finds (our highest yet) and started the 2 hour drive home at 1am in the morning. By the time we got home, we were well and truely exhausted, showered then crashed immediately.
In the Wandering Hero's, we managed to get from the Tailum Bend turnoff all the way to Karoonda Road/Kulde Road intersection. We then headed up Karoonda Road towards Bowhill Road (heading towards Murray Bridge) to collect The Lost Wanderers.
There are still SOOOOO many Wandering Hero's we need to collect so it looks like another SA trip will be in the planning
Thanks to all the CO's who have placed caches for us to collect and also bigh shout out to those who maintain these caches. Very enjoyable exhausting day.

Off we go again! This time Rapidlywild and I decided to tackle the Wandering Heroes caches after completing the Oz Mega Signal power trail-insane! [:O)]
Once again Rapidlywild was the driver and I was the runner [:O)] Most of the caches were nice, quick finds although several of them were a little bit elusive to us in the dark so RW joined in for the search
Swung by this one on the way home-nice easy find!
Thanks for the hide, firesafe

Out and about on this fine day with fellow cacher friends Liz and Bruce doing a lot of the Wandering heroes caches and close by ones. Many thanks to all that hide them and for there upkeep. Sorry for the late log and copy and paste.
Day 4 of the Oz Mega Event, and I was heading for an overnight stay in Bordertown. The day included a few caches around Murray Bridge, the Lost Wanderers series, and some of the Wandering Heroes caches that had arisen since I last cleaned it out. And then there were some more down to Coonalpyn. Sorry for the generic logs - there were just too many to log individually. My thanks to firesafe for the cache.
