Hmmm, seemed more bent Kauri's every time I looked up. Finally found it after a bit of a search. No idea why it took so long. Thanks.
Never having been down this road (or track) I figured it was about time I had a look. We'd had a bit of rain so the track was pretty slick but I navigated my way down ok. Spotted the bent kauri a little way off but couldn't see the cache at first. Eventually located it under a reasonable layer of forest duff which made sense as the last find was about a year ago. Cache was in good condition. Great to finally explore this track - TFTC!!
Hoping to complete a couple more caches for the day before the rain sets in. Wandered up the path and then followed the less obvious but definite geocaching trail to GZ , to find the cache. Rain remains light, might be able to squeeze another one in. TFTC
As I was driving in a police car exited at a speed to fast for this road. He must have just found the cache and was heading for the next one.
Anyways, I hiked up the trail and spotted the hinted at place. It was still a big step up to get to GZ, but once there, it was an easy find. TFTC.

#1609. My last cache of the morning. Parked near the upper road end and walked down the fairly steep track. Saw a geotrail so headed up that and after a short search I spied the cache. Signed the dry logbook and returned as found. But added a bit of extra natural camo as it was sitting rather exposed. Had just finished when a muggle on a bike went past. He was too focused on the path to see me. Back up to the car and headed home for lunch. Thanks for the cache.
Nice afternoon stroll anong the Kauri. As I log this find, a Fantail is about 1 meter away watching me. TFTC
Another great find while in the area.
Thanks for setting up this cache.
Took quite a bit of looking around to finally get the cache.

Muddy track had to hang on to grandma so she didn't slide down the hill. Easy find TFTC
TFTC found it while out for a run with 10centznz who had already got it last year.
Out with family, we decided to have a look for this one which was nearby. Never been down here before. Relatively straight forward but more Kauri here than the clue hints at. Don't get confused. One of our party who has not geocached before thought he was looking at a rat trap when he discovered it. We laughed.
Found originally as part of Rebel98 team, now created own account, re-logging as rustynz
Had never been to these roads before, so the views towards the city was a pleasant surprise. Found the start of the track fairly easily, just weaved my way to GZ to make the find. Again thanks again for this cache.

Lovely spot, climbed from the bottom, it looks like the rain is not too far away, luckily the track is dry. I imagine it could be really muddy and slippery when more rain comes. Used the clue to make the find. Thanks for the hide and bringing us here.
Very interesting Kauri. Swapped the travel bug that was in it with another one. TFTC.
Had a bit of a problem with this one. GPS having a bit of a 'Hissy Fit', but should have paid more attention to bit in hint that said 'Bush Bashing' required. Picked up TB will move on...cheers V.
A nice tidy cache. Careful regarding clue. Trees are tanekaha, not kauri although kauri are closeby.
Met a couple of locals out on the track in Jandals... Can't be too slippery then.. can it? A nice wee grove of juvenile kauris, quick find after spotting the bent pair, TFTC.
Phew what a climb glad to get this one out of the way and a find before voshed and union sux yaay me tftc
Nice spot for a cache. Had to dodge a few local kids, but son and I found it and added something to the contents. Thanks.
Lovely area ! Never been here before ! May have left my glasses here so have to go back tomorrow !

The track is just at the end of my road. Didn't know I just had to walk 50m to do a bit of geocaching.
After a couple of minutes searching I found it successfully. A bit of digging at the wrong places and suspicious looking Kauris took me quite some time. Fortunately it was very dry today and I could log the cache without getting dirty.

I was looking on the wrong side until I read the clue! Damn curry grass got me too! Tftc
The track up was a little wet and I wish I'd worn my boots. Found the cache after a brief search and then made my way back down the track to the road. The route down proved more difficult and I lost my footing a few times. TFTC
Was in the area so thought it was a good idea to stop while the track is nice and dry. Could imagine a nice waterfall down this track after a good rain. Once again the GPS didn't settle down so after a few false starts the cache was soon found. TFTC
Interesting bushy spot a bit of a trek up the track from Glen Eden. Was a pleasant evening walk with the dog but could be difficult in the winter. Easy to spot if you've read the clues. tftc.
A bit slippery after a couple of showers but managed to remain vertical. By the time the GPS finally settled under the tree cover I had walked right past GZ and down to the bottom of the track. So, climbed back up the track to where I should have stopped earlier. A nice location. TFTC.
Neat hide in the bush - gales were so strong today that even the tree cover provided little shelter from that cold driving air!!
Thx for the hide and bringing me here

This was my last stop on Wednesday night. Finding the right spot ended up being easy, but I didn't figure it out on my first pass over the area. That container is well-concealed! Fortunately, after ruling out another possibility I came back, conducted a more thorough search, and came up with the goods. TFTC!
Nice spot indeed. GPSr was a bit askew, but a careful observation of the area revealed a likely hiding spot.
Thanks for the cache!

We decided to spend the day knocking off a few more caches out west.
After collecting the caches along the NW motorway cycleway, we headed out to New Lynn then on to Titirangi, collecting some caches along the way.
Nice walk down to GZ. GPSr & iPhone were all over the place down here, but we quickly found the bent Kauris, although we had difficulty finding the cache, so we started looking elsewhere in case there were more bent Kauris! Headed back to the obvious spot and eventually found the cache - must have been standing on it last time, it was well hidden!
2xTB out.

Interesting place here. Wet and slippery place after the rain. I made out here by myself as the ladies waited for me in the car. I have to admit, this took longer than I expected. Finally I manage to get my hands on this one. Nice hide

15:50 Quick find. Came in from the Tawini Rd end. An interesting spot, the path follows some sort of old pipe trench, you can see a small rusty pipe all the way down the hill. TFTC.

found with my kids, dropped off 2 trackables that I've had far too long.... sorry to the owners!
Nice evening walk with the dogs to somewhere I had not explored before. That hill is a little step with 50kgs of canine helping you down it in the dusk! TFTC.
6379 Awesome wee track, came at it from the top. Can't believe so few cachers have been here so far! Thanks for the cache placement in a great area.
Yesterday I would have tackled this from the Glen Eden side seeing as it's just a short drive from home, as it was I was on the shore for my brother's wedding and I don't think he would have given me a leave pass for a quick cache so it had to wait an extra day. Was out for a drive so attacked it from the other end and after a quick climb and a sniff about had the cache in hand. Neat little trail out here - TFTC
Was heading over to the shore to have a go at potentially 4 FTFs when this cache was published. Decided to keep going and maybe pick this one up on the way home. Hadn't been logged by the time I was on my way home, so thought why not give it a go. Came in from the lower, Glen Eden, side, and after one false turn on the track, turning left early on instead of continuing right (and judging by the skid mark on the slope, someone else has recently made the same mistake... surely not the cache owner? ) Arrived at GZ, made the short scramble and had the cache in hand within seconds, before even consulting the hint - although it was nicely covered so if the GPS had not been pointing right at it then it might have taken longer, or I'd have used the hint. Wish I'd brought some TBs with me to drop! Never mind. Nice spot and hide. FTF #984 TFTC!!!
