Unfortunately there is going to be ongoing construction here for some time. Archiving to free up the area. Will try and replace a new one in a different area at Christmas.
When we were last over the protection works were ongoing, we will be back over at Labour weekend and will check then. Hopefully this is OK
After the innundation of cyclone Fehi this cache is most likely in the Tasman Sea. Have checked and it is missing and there are ongoing works at the site to remedy the innundation issues. Will have another look once progress is made.
I missed this hide on my first sweep, how I've no idea as it was in plain sight if you look from the right direction.
A short drive around Carter's Beach, it's too hot to walk, and grab a few local caches.

I had unfinished business with this one, I came here 4 years ago and the cache was missing. This time no problems, a quick find. Signed log, TFTC
Found with NZDi. We had been intending to do a trip to the Coast after a workmate and fellow geocacher came back from a Christmas camping holiday and dropped a map of walks around Westport on my desk. On comparing the walk and geocaching maps, it was apparent to see there was plenty of scope for a geocaching holiday or three to the coast. The only thing we needed to ensure ws that the weather played the game, unlike when my workmate had her Christmas break there. Knowing that we had the weekend free this weekend I kept an eye on the forecast for the coast and it was looking pretty good, so a motel was booked and a rudimentary and flexible geocaching plan was hatched.
The idea was to head to the Coast early on Friday morning picking up no more than half a dozen caches along the way. We limited ourselves to this as we know from previous experience that it can take over six hours to do an hour and a quarter trip if you are geocaching as well.. Once we got to the coast, we were going to do the Cape Foulwind walk, then cache as much as we could from there back to town. We then intended to do as much of the K.R.T caches before retiring for the night and in the morning do the Charming Creek Walk before heading back home again picking up the odd cache along the way. In the end it was mission achieved with 74 finds over two days and only one DNF along the way.
After our trip from Blenheim, severely limiting the amount of caches we grabbed along the way, we arrived at the carpark around 10am. After getting changed into more appropriate caching attire we walked the track to Tauranga Bay picking up all the caches in order apart from the nearby multi. After completing the Cape Foulwind walk, we headed back towards Westport picking up as many caches as we could along the way.
Another QEF PnG on our trip back to Westport from Cape Foulwind. We haven't got many Westport caches yet but we are seeing a trend and have worked out who Wesport's version of B&W is. This is one of the few who weenz isn't the CO.

Camping at Carters Beach for a week with friends from down south... Weather has been pretty wet the last few days so haven't been out and about as much as I would have liked. Today was a slow day round camp - with a walk on the beach in the howling wind.
Grabbed a couple of the muggle kids in our group to come out with me in the local area for a hunt before tea. This cache was tucked away nicely - but found by Miss 9 pretty quickly.

Staying in the house 100m away for a couple of nights while on a firefighting course at the fishing school so got this one before the rain starts. TFTC
A long weekend proved to be just what it said on the tin; a weekend that was long. With mrs capperz trapped in work for 2 of the 3 days this weekend a plan was made to head over to the West Coast for some caching, with the added bonus of some fine weather too. Forecast was for clear skies and low 4, high of 15 degrees, which is some preferred caching weather. Also in possession of a geocaching map of Westport being virgin territory there was every chance of finding a 'few'.
A slight chance of one of 2 FTFs in Westport and the bait was dangled and too good to not take a swipe at. Headed off at 0830 on Sunday and got back around 1830 on Monday so a full on couple of days with park n grabs, beachside specials and a walk along the Cape Foulwind walkway (there wasn't any wind, and it wasn't foul so thinking of renaming it Cape Nicesun.
Day 2 of our trip and most caches were on the Western side of the Buller river. Nice and easy find here as we head towards (in a zig-zaggingly styled) the Foulwind walkway
Yet another different C O down this road and a nice place for a cache. Q E F and replaced as per the hint

This one was weird... everyone else found it with no problems, and I can't find a thing.. the flower bed seems recently disturbed, so maybe it's been muggled? I moved on..

[green] Drove down Friday night for a three day wages to petrol extravaganza. Doing the Blenheim - Greymouth - Westport - Blenheim loop. Drove to Reefton Friday night so I could grab some empty log books early the next morning. That done its on with the main mission. An awesome three day experience, only about 30 caches per day, but two badge upgrades, wekas, seals and penguins, an awesome coast road and coastal walk. Wonderful.
Pretty garden here

Good Friday, off to the Coast, though doubtful of getting there after the windstorm. A nearby tree was totaled, but the cache is still in play. Thanks for the hide.

Staying overnight in Westport - Mrs G has some Family History chasing to do up at Denniston.

Last find of the day on a walk back from the beach, 12 finds in all for today! TFTFC
Arrived at GZ and some men turned up and chucked some shark fins into the creek! Then we watched the eels come out and feed. Took a while to find the cache but got there in the end, TFTC!
Very lucky with this one. We decided to have a drink at the local come everything place after a really lovely wander along the beach. I had a look at the phone trying to decide which cache to do next and this one pops up which wasn't in the GPS. Signed the nice white blank log. Thanks for the replacement. TFTC #5361
