Geocahing has taken me to a few cemeteries now, and it always amazes me how well they have been kept. This is another example of that. What a beautiful spot to have a final rest. Cache is in great condition, as is the grandparents' grave site.

Southern Autumn adventure Day 59. Mildura Trip Day 8. Everyone from Canberra has now headed off and I have a couple more days here. The day started with some Labs and a few caches near Mildura and Gol Gol, before I headed over to Merebin again to target another Riverside area flush with caches. I had a very enjoyable walk around a billabong with some very interestingly themed caches and then another series that I was happy to be able to drive along. It was another great day with rain threatening on and off, but I managed to stay dry while out of the car (just for the big walk). I then headed home via a few more of the outer region caches that always seemed a little out of the way, but I had time for today.

Thanks for the cache Aussie M & M

#16747 - 1:16:00 PM; After spending the night in Mildura on the way home from South Australia after collecting the geomobile with Sol de lune, today we set out to collect some of the caches in the area we didn't pick up on previous visits. We managed a good variety of caches and cache types as we made our way around the city and then further afield in our quest. All caches were found in good order considering the recent weather conditions and were returned as found once we had signed the log. A nice quick pick up here on a good sized cache. In town with LuckyL10n for a day before heading back to Canberra, and with a bit of time built into our schedule, we hit up the caches around here. All were found without issue and with our names safely in the log book/sheet, we were soon onto the next one.

Thanks again Aussie M & M....great day to be out and cache is all good.

Full time nomads visiting Mildura to finally tackle the Paddle Steamer with iluvtrekking. Of course we have to stop in town and find some caches here before we go 'bush'. Great weather and a fun day out today, good company with lots of laughs and ooh ahhh at the clever caches we found. Plenty of fave point to give out today.

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure, yes I know we have wandered over the border. Never mind, it is a wonderful day and we have joined forces with FelixII so we are off to see what we can find. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find, although the cache was small, not regular as indicated in the cache description. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Aussie_M&M for the cache.

After attending the International Geocaching Day Celebration Event this evening, then walking the Billabong with AnyMules, KiwiOzzie & Trigger_Fish, we were not ready to call it a night quite yet so we continued our adventure later into the night.
It is strange how since I started geocaching I seem to visit a lot of cemeteries at night but quietly respect the residents here.
The cache was quickly located, stamped & placed back as found.

A JAMS weekend away was organised so that we could attend the tri state celebration eventsa plus a couple of other events and a CITO over the two days. We had a very early start and arrived at the Berri event only a half an hour after it started. After a coffee and some catching up we headed east over to Wentworth for the next event and a few caches along the way. More catching up, an AL and a visit to the sandhills, then on to Merbein for a couple of new AL's and more caching between there and Mildura. On to the 5pm event with lots of snags and slices that went down very well. Then a night cache before heading to Euston for the last event of the day. Only had time for a drink there, then found 3 caches and finally headed to our accommodation in Gol Gol. Slept very well, then up and about making our way to the breakfast event and more catching up. Found a few gadget caches before the CITO, picked up some rubbish and then started our drive home. Still managed to get a few caches along the way.
All in all a great weekend with thanks to all the CO's and organisers of the events. Cool

A quick stop here as we drove around the area. Big Grin

Thanks for the cache Aussie M & M. Smile

Big day today out with Jams crew attempting the tri state event challenge. Challenge accepted.
Early 5am start and pick up at 5.45am and then a big drive to Berri. One cache in Kingston and a loo stop before the first event in Berri. A welcome spot for a coffee by the river.
Onwards to Wentworth and our second state for the day and another lovely location by the river. Afternoon caching around Wentworth, sand dunes, Merbein for adventure labs. Great new series by the oxbow lake.
Then it was time for the fabulous 3rd state celebration event in Victoria. Followed by an adventure doing a night cache.
Finally to euston back in NSW for an event, a beer and 3 caches and to our accommodation at Gol Gol arriving at 10. Yes it was a big day out! Huge day lots of fun, lots of events, lots of caches and adventure labs. 20000 steps for the day, yahoo! Much thanks to all the COs and event holders.

Spending a few days in Mildura, joined by the rest of the Goldy clan for a family getaway.

We've been coming here since our first visit in 2008, it's a Goldy family favourite so I'm excited for the opportunity to find a few geocaches here and in some of the surrounding towns.

I'm also looking forward to experiencing some different hides in another state, as all my finds so far have been in South Australia.

I won't be able to get to all the caches due to having other plans with family, family always comes first.

So a high majority of caches on the "to be found" list are ones where I can learn local history and ones that are relatively quick and easy.

I've been primarily eyeing off the turtle series geoart and adventure labs.

Easy find here.

Put my signature in the log book and returned the cache to its hiding spot.

Signed as "P.Goldy"

Thanks to Aussie M & M for this cache.

We made our way from Sea lake to Mildura and did a little shopping that we needed to do. Then it was on to our digs for the next four nights in Curlwaa. On the way, we stopped by this cemetery and looked for this cache. Initially, we thought that the cache had been smuggled, and then we checked a few more options, and lo and behold, there it was nice and neatly hidden. We duly signed the log and replaced it for the next person to find. The cache was in excellent condition. Thank you for this cache Aussie M & M.

Here in Mildura for a few days with Snap Happy, omegaman1971, Happy Feet and Happy Pants.
Once we'd finished finding the nearby turtle series geoart, we were keen to keep on caching into the late afternoon, then on and into the night. "There's another one over here" was the saying heard most today. We found a plethora of different cache types, hide styles and were happily perplexed at some GZs! Thanks for the cache Aussie M & M.

Found on a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Team Waldron, Brisal5 and FeatherWaite. Our main targets were the Paddle Steamer and Turtle geoart series' but we also took the opportunity to seek out a few other caches along the way.

We were fortunate with the weather. After a burst of very hot days, we timed our trip nicely to coincide with the milder conditions before the next hot spell. That helped to make both the caching and the camping along the Murray River and in the Murray-Sunset National Park very pleasant.

We ended up finding all the caches that we had targeted. Most were in good order. Some of the puzzles were quite challenging and there were some very novel and entertaining multi's. Some certainly took a bit of finding and there were many very clever and/or tricky caches and containers that were a credit to the cache owners’ ingenuity.

It would have been good to have had another day or two to complete the remaining caches in the area, but I’m sure we’ll be back.

Thanks to all the cache owners for the hides.

Found during a trip from Adelaide to the Mildura area for a few days of caching with Brisal5, e.gregory1 and Team Waldron with the main aim to complete the Paddle Steamer and Turtle GeoArt series but also to find other caches along the way. We camped out on the banks of the Murray River near Mildura on the first night, at Rocket Lake campground in the Murray-Sunset National Park on the second night, then back to the banks of the Murray River near Merbein on the last night. We signed the logs as B.E.F.W. Thanks to all the cache owners for placing the cache!

At this stage, we are keeping this cache enabled as it usually gets a find, once per month at best. If this changes, we will disable it.
Please take every care if you are still caching during the pandemic. Wear gloves, wipe the cache container before and after you touch it, even with your gloves on.
Preferably stay home, and stay safe.

Found by Mary and David at 11:20:00. This earned a FP even before Mary climbed down from the GeoPrado. She loves cemeteries for the symbolism of the headstone designs, and the social history in the epitaphs. While David looked for the cache, Mary had a few minutes to explore. The story of a pilot killed "through accident in his aeroplane" at Mildura, the shamrocks and Irish harp on a headstone, a broken column for a young man whose life was cut short and, of course, the Italian excessive marble tombs. The number of flowers left after Mothers day was amazing.

We found the cache in a bad way, with a broken lid and a waterlogged logbook. We replaced the container, added a little sag and a waterproof logbook. It is now a small container rather than a regular one though. Our thanks to Aussie M & M.

Found this cache on 20.4.19 at 12:56pm heading back to Curlwaa from a trip into Mildura to meet up at Mocha Mecca with friends. Stopped along the way to find this cache. Another lovely well maintained cemetery - we do like visiting cemeteries to find caches - perhaps it is because we may be in one of them in the not too distant future? However we had no trouble finding this well hidden cache. Unfortunately the lid has a large crack in it so may need so maintenance in the future - logbook is ok.

With my birthday a few days away and trying to get my 200th find on the day, I had planned to finish today with 199 finds, this meant needing only 10 finds today. This was our eighth find for the day. After finding this cache (I took both the pathtag and TB) I proceeded to look for family members I have out here but havent visited in 10 or so years. My memory wasnt doing me an favours and we walked around looking for a while before I spotted him about 20m from the cache. oh well, was a nice walk anyway. TFTC
