Called in today on a routine maintenance check to find the container complete with its camouflage has disappeared entirely and only about a month since it was last found and logged!!
Thank you to all who have found our cache and in doing so have acknowledged those two "Unsung Heroes" who have contributed so much to geocaching locally.

On my way home from an enjoyable long weekend staying at the old family home in Tarnagulla and decided to take the long way home and gather some caches along the way.

I can see why this one hasn't been found for a while, clever camo on the hide and easily overlooked for more obvious spots. A nice tribute cache, thanks for the hide Romax and almost 12 months of unlove.

Find No. 1806. Found at 12.20pm.

On a caching expedition in our geoute with geodog Penny on board. Our aim is to find 25 + finds so that we can get 100 finds for the month.

Making our way down the Calder Highway, stopping off to grab the ones along the way we haven't got. After doing the 'Our Heroes' caches we discovered we had missed a couple so had to backtrack a bit to get them. Afterall we needed every cache we could find today to get to our tally and DNF's don't help.

This was a very tricky hide. We had actually looked at it a couple of times before realising that was where the cache was. 12 down and quite a few more to go, so we quickly moved onto the next one. For such a tricky hide and one that we really liked we are giving it a fav point.

Travelling home from the Wedderburn event, this cache was on my must do list. The old blokes surely deserve a clever cache, such as this, in recognition of their placement of devious caches, and wonderful events, which keep us returning to the area.
Driving towards ground zero, I thought, surely not! A cache to recognise these two great geocachers, couldn't possibly be just hidden here! It would not be fitting. And certainly not what I have come to expect from the cunning mind of Romax.
We were certainly not disappointed after all. And it was more good luck, than good management, that I discovered it, when son dalerious moved something, and I spotted it. Otherwise it could so easily have been overlooked.
Well done Romax. A cache that puts a smile on all our faces, is well worthy of another favourite point to round them off to a neat twenty.
Muggle Hubby said it was his favourite cache for the day, and went on homewards trying to devise how he could duplicate it.

We have enjoyed the 'Our Heroes' series and here is a cache to pay tribute to the team that created it. Seeing it was a cache by Romax we were not sure what devious method they may have employed to hide it. Suffice to say it lived up to expectations and we SL at 2.20pm - it also happens to be the 20th cache we have found today in our quest for 25+. TFTC Romax #4143

Find #1000 for me! I'd originally intended to make Xenix my 1000th find, but on approach I realized that I'd accidentally forgotten to load the cache into my GPS so decided on this one instead. In fact, this cache was perfect since it's a fine example of a deviously cunning hide from the local geocaching grandmasters Romax, all in honour of the old blokes - two other local geocaching grandmasters! Perfect coordinates led me to a quick find here today on the way to Maldon with 3 of my muggle friends who were more than happy to take the obligatory 1000th find photo. This visit was certainly more pleasing than my previous visit which I logged last year. I'm also very pleased to log this milestone find right after my friend kazba16 who also logged a very significant milestone. Great camo and a definite favorite point from me! Thanks for this cache Romax!

Well, I stopped close to GZ but just as I got out of the car I noticed that my rear left tyre was flat as a tack. How long I'd been driving on the tyre like that I'm not sure, but it was damaged beyond repair by the time I stopped. So instead of looking for the cache I got all the tyre-changing equipment from the car and started to put the jack in place. Luckily a kind, friendly local noticed me at this point and gave me some much appreciated assistance. I have changed a tyre before but not for about 10 years so was badly out-of-practice. Had the friendly farmer not given me a hand, I probably would have been late for school pick-up back in Bendigo, so this guy deserves a medal! I'll return to this another time, hopefully with less drama.

Find # 1860 @ 0919 H

Being on holidays what a better way to spent a day than planning a caching day and to head north of Bendigo.
This ended up being a day of 42 finds, way over what I expected and almost 400ks travelled (a lot of back tracking and some getting lost in the bush, But the GPSr did say there was a road there!)

This sneeky little hide had me looking over everything, being a warm morning I was armed with a big stick, poking and proding, in the end I think it was sheer luck that gave me this find. think I may have been time to wake up my caching senses a bit more for today.

Three cachers - two nights - one tent - great times!!!!

With the weather on the improve we dusted off the tent and headed to Marong for the weekend. On Saturday we headed up to Wedderburn grabbing caches as we went, the caching was curtailed by the building heat, the call of the pool back at the BIG4 was too great as temps nudged 38oC. After a couple of hours in the refuge of the pool, we headed into Bendigo to catch up with family with a great feast of Mexican. Sunday had us packing up and grabbing a few caches on the way into Bendigo catching up with more family before heading back to Melbourne town.

On the way to the cache we drove alongside a young kangaroo for a while before he thought it would be wise to just let us past. Pulled up near GZ and Campbell was quick to check one area, before Katy found the well hidden cache. A fav from us, great design!!!

Thanks for the cache Romax!!!

Found on our way to Wedderburn for the annual "Day out in Wedderburn" event.

Last time we tried this we had the Combo and the road we took was a bit boggy so we gave it away. This time around on another route it was an easy drive. Off the highways we drove through paddocks that had just been seeded and we enjoyed the sight of hundreds of small colourful birds enjoying a meal.

The cache was one of the better ones we had found today which was located ok, before we headed off again.

Found at 12:55:00 PM. In Bendigo for a couple of nights and decided to find a few of Our Heros. The road in to this one was blocked by a recently fallen tree but we managed to clear a detour around the blockage. On arrival at GZ we struggled for a while until a closer look revealed the cunningly camouflaged cache.

Thanks RomaxSmile

Recently we became aware of the A-Z Challenge Bendigo cache. We had cached only once in Bendigo previously and then for less than 24 hours. However when we checked our finds we were very suprised that we had already found 15 of the required 26 caches. So one of our hopes for this trip to Victoria was that we could return to Bendigo for a short time and find 11 more caches to complete the challenge.

This was one of the required caches (U). We took a rather circuitous route to get to GZ. Once there welooked for the cache for a few minutes. Then we looked at the area from different angles and something drew our attention. Closer inspection revealed an excellent cache in very good condition. Thanks Romax for a great hide - certainly earns a favourite from us. 10 more to find to complete the challenge.

A week off work and the Wenches without any prior bookings meant we could head to Bendigo to chase a few caches...

We planned our caching day around this cache. We're working toward the A-Z Challenge by The Morris and have just four letters to complete. This cache gives us a tick in the U box.

Well, the gps pointed me to a very unlikely spot close to GZ but small cache definately couldn't be concealed there. The obvious spots at the obvious spot were checked before a more thorough check revealed the tricky hide.

Thank you Romax for this cache and the chance to knock off another letter..

A casual trip towards Bendigo on a lovely crsip and sunny day, so decided to deviate from the highway and pick up a couple, and this was one we hadn't done. The sheep all came running towards us as we searched for this one, which kept the Cache Hounds well entertained, and interested. We also saw two beautiful Wedgetails, and a fantastic Hawk on the way to the cache area. Thanks for takng us there, Romax, and a well deserved tribute to 'the old blokes'!

Miss Mary was off at a Gallop whilst I dithered about in the car, finally I trailed after her thinking my chances were slim of finding the cache before Miss Mary.
But no I was in luck this was a Romax cache which usually defeats both of us. So I was in for a chance, I felt a little sorry for Miss Mary as she was there first all over it like the plague. But I actually made the find, I must say a very sneaky well crafted cache. Thanks for the challenge Romax.

As I was in the middle of the old blokes unsung heroes series, it seemed logical to head off the beaten path a bit to grab this tribute cache. Google maps on the iPhone certainly helped navigate to this one along the narrow dirt roads, very dry so no problems at all. Parked right at GZ and saw several simple likely hides so started looking. Seeing nothing and then thinking this is a romax cache (I haven't found many of theirs but reputation does precede them and I had found their "rest with the blackbird" cache this morning and that was a ripper. So I started thinking more than "sistema under log" ans saw something that wasn't quite right and had the cache in hand. Thanks to romax for this one, great hide, great tribute to the old bokes and worth a fave!

Suscoe was steadily making our way down towards Bendigo and this little journey along some lanes was a delightful side trip.
Arrived near GZ and walked the last few metres.
Stood and looked and then thought and said, well that might be worth looking at!
It was.
A well constructed cache container was revealed.
Thanks to Romax for placing this cache in honour of the old blokes!
The crops sure look like they need some serious moisture, hope tomorrow's rain comes in the right quantities!

A Romax cache, in the dark? we might get lucky, and we did! The road into GZ looked like it had been very muddy recently but thankfully there had been a few sunny days since and we were able to get the 2wd geomobile through with no trouble. I have not yet met the Old Blokes but I have found quite a lot of their caches up here and always appreciate the high stadard that they set in their hides. I would have loved to have got up this way for the recent Wedderburn event but alas you can't be everywhere at once.
The main challenge this morning was dodging mud and water on the roads and once here thinking like Romax.
Another creative hide so thanks for that.

Heading up to Wedderburn for The Old Blokes event " A day out in Wedderburn" and after spending the night in Bendigo we decided to try our luck at some of the local caches. It seemed only fitting that we did one for "the old blokes". This was a very fitting tribute to the old blokes" as unsung heroes as they have seemed to have followed in the cache owners footsteps. We really enjoy finding this team's caches as we've always found them to have been of high quality and some are quite ingenious. We missed the cache on our first look around this one and then Diane realised that it was a Romax cache so we looked at the area with different eyes and then had the well concealed cache in hand quite quickly.
Many thanks romax for another memorable cache, a favorite from us.

Cool idea Romax, flipping the old blokes dedication series on it's head Smile I did plenty of old blokes caches this long weekend, alot of them are creative hides at colourful and slightly quirky spots. They were all good quality hides and the logbooks always the same design, making it easy to figure out whose cache I was finding.
