Today, my plan was to hang around Mount Barker and explore the town and its surrounds. A Breakfast Club event kick started my day, and from there, I joined a small group to Mount Barker Summit to find a few of those geocaches. I then headed solo around the area to find a few more traditionals, and later ran into Wal & Ol who had also stuck around visiting a few multi-cache waypoints. I continued to check out the town's surrounds, and called it a day when it got dark.
After successfully finding this CO's *log in log #1* cache earlier today, I thought I would have a pretty good chance here. I was particularly drawn when The Tardis Trio had logged the Needs Maintenance log, and thought that was particularly cocky to think it was missing with only them searching for it.
However, I do think that they are right... at GZ, there was a large pile of sticks/branches, and suspect the required branch is somehow within that pile. I started looking around the various trees, but had to give up after 10 minutes of searching. The cache could certainly still be here, and so a CO visit may be warranted. Thanks anyway team jacks for the cache placement.
P.s. at least I had some fun seeing David's field nearby...

Wow, GZ has changed a lot recently. With the new fence, fallen branches and the small bushes having cut branches on the ground, GZ was quite a mess.
I phoned 3 previous finders and had a very good idea of what I was looking for, but still wasn't able to locate it.
I can see others have been searching here recently with the flattened grass and soursobs, but i notice no-one has bothered to log DNFs
With no finds for over a year, can the CO please confirm the the cache is still in place and accessible?

The usual Wednesday wanderings for the troupe of Puzzled Puzzlers animals was planned for Murray Bridge however at the last minute the KORF (Sushilord) sent a message telling us that he was not feeling up to the day's outing, the plans were changed to target Mount Barker, the home town of the Starfish who had already cleared out all the hides which left only the Adder and the Rat to seek out the hides.
An easy find by the Rat. TFTC

Must have had evil in my mind as cache was found in first place I looked, you gotta love that

Had an idea what this might be like. Luckily I was correct and quite quickly found the tricky little guy after a bit of a search. Nice One! TFTC
We were around and Jan insisted I should give it a try !!
He couldn't find it and was keeping an eye on it, I think it was harder to find a proper parking spot than finding this cache !!
He said :"I check that twice" jejejje TFTFun it was easy for Andy

Out and about with 1sickazza on a boys day out without the geo-wives. Inspired by the Planetary Pursuits promotion we are investigating caches close to Mt Barker. TFTC.

on route to mount barker to visit the " home of 12 volt " to either get a new battery or charger for my scuba diving flood light. Found it after a little search. I think the laborers on the nearby building site have through a few extra branches and a pallet over the fence and made this one harder than it was before.
I needed a quick daily cache so I went out to attack one I hadn't tried before. The lovely weather and a feeling about what the cache hide may be meant I found it quickly. It has dried out since the last post (lovely spring weather) but CO should still replace the log (the current one is insufficient and the old one is jammed right in the bottom). Great cache in a great part of the world ... until it is bulldozed into a housing development, that is. (Meanwhile I did dodge a lot of Bluestone residents in active wear jogging along Barker Road on my way out there).

Found it... thought it might a cache like that. May take some others a while...
An afternoon out with Purrfect Di and Jack found us here at your cache.
A neat little cache idea. Sadly it's currently a Bog of a Log in a Log.
Added small paper, but may need waterproofing.

Hmmm... The name says it all. Just happen to grab the right one luckily and there it was. Sad to see prime land being converted to high density housing. Defeats the purpose of 'country living'. TNLN. Cheers.
Found on an Easter Extravaganza family tradition race day! TFTC #teamheadbandz

Decided to spend the afternoon finding a few of the many caches around Mt Barker. It was a very busy Saturday afternoon, so we didn't manage a huge amount of finds but had fun none-the-less.
The GPS took us on a very round-about journey to this cache. Luckily my little geomobile didn't get lost in some of the ruts in that road. After a bit of a hunt we found a cleverly concealed cache.
Mrs Gizmo decided on an alternative route back to civilisation.
Cache and contents in good condition.

Despite accurate coordinates a few minutes of hunting before this well hidden cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks team_jacks for the cache.
Had a nice drive along a few back tracks on my round about way to Echunga today. Knew what I was looking for as I have hidden a couple of similar caches myself, so when I arrived at GZ I thought it was going to take some time as there were lots of logs around. Surprisingly I stumbled upon the cache in the first place I looked.
Signed the log and replaced.
Thanks for the cache team jacks.
The log is full and needs replacing.

Found it with CherryRose on our afternoon caching in Mount Barker. Looked at this a number of times then decided to take a closer look. Aha. TFTC TNLNSL WORTH A FAVOURITE POINT.
Found with BearyOrganised after taking my Mum to her 2nd appointment. Took a while then thought better check this closer. TFTC TNLNSL
Found with geokids stunkypanda2006 and gnomeo2007 at the end of the July school holidays 2015
I didn't have too much trouble finding this one. Great hide, after I took the plug out I thought where is the log, but with a quick pull it was in my hand. I will certainly be giving the others a go

Found quickly while out with Mandy, my dog. The curous horses were near by. I can' t believe how far out the housing development has grown out this way. Cache needs some rescueing though so couldnt sign the log.
Found but cache needs rescueing. It looks like it has slipped out of it's grip. Will need long tonged tweezers or similar.
After a DNF down the road was apprehensive trying for this. Found with3LG and the x-trailers
Asked ourselves why place this cache opposite a house

Today we decided to grab a few caches around the Mt Barker area with earthlight and The X Trailers, soon spotted this one as it seemed a little different to its surrounds. TFTC
One kid was practicing parkour in the dark, another kid bumped her head & the cow in the paddock sounded like it was laughing. This is why I love geocaching!
A bit of a nemisi cache decided to have another go at this one and turned up trumps almost straight away, nothing like a revisit to turn up a cache and another for the nano rant challenge!! Bloody nanos! Spawn of Satan! Someone should burn the nano factory down !! TFTC
Found it again for the secong time with my niece and nephew - seems we didnt log it last visit. A great one to revisit anyway
Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
Currently camped in Kuitpo Forest and coming down with a cold a late start was the order of the day.
Around lunchtime we headed out to Mount Barker to complete some chores and of course find a few caches to keep our geo streak alive.
We saw some nice parkland and took a very scenic route on the way back to the caravan.g
We have a cache very similar to this at home in WA in fact the caches could be twins. A fave point from us.

Found finally. GPS had us all over the place so stood back and just looked around then I saw it. Juuuust a tad out-of-place-ish.
Was damp inside so I replaced the little container. Will need a new log ASAP. TFTC

Have to say I'm Getting sick of search for 1/2 and no success. Hoping for some luck at #2...
I was amazed that I walked straight up to it and found it! My caching senses are becoming more acute! Haha! Fav point from me, I love hills caches!
A very clever hide and a definite fav.
Took a few minutes to spot it.
Came across a family group out caching at this location on my way back from another cache and stopped to ensure that they found it (which they did unassisted by me). TFTC

Finally found this one today, only took me eight minutes to find as opposed to the half an hour of fruitless searching. Forgot to replenish my pen as I lost it on the Wondering Heroes trail, so a walk back to the car was in order. One down, two to go. Cheers team jacks
Quick easy find this morning after dropping GK off at school and with GeoBaby asleep in the back.
Hubby hates these, but I think it neat.

I wasn't feeling so good this morning so decided a day off work was for the best. Thius arvo I was feeling better, and I had a hole in my Cashing Calender, so thought a small drive wouldn't hurt.
Arrived at GZ to find Hunt Road - how appropriate is the name of the road? )
I thought I would be here for quite a while, but my caching sense was working well. I used my experience to look for something not quite right. It was NEARLY right or MOSTLY right, but not quite right.
Clever hide.

On our annual Holiday to follow the Tour Down Under in South Aus. we are hitting a few caches in Mt Barker as this is our "home town" for the week.
WOW what a sneeky hide. This one took up 20min of my time to find it. I think I may have to copy this idea for a couple of hides back home in Victoria
A fave point coming over from Victoria.

Found this one pretty quickly and easily considering the trouble we had with no.2. Thanks for bringing us out along these areas that we'd never usually drive around in normal circumstances.
Just getting ready to give up and the eldest caching child found it;) very sneaky!!!!
As it was such a nice day, I figured I would drive up the road to try my luck.
As it turns out, I managed to park my car in spot so my tyres were spinning on the wet grass [:(!]
As luck would have a 4-WD stopped and asked me if I happened to be a geocacher [^]
Clinton introduced himself and his gang of kids and we caught-up with the caching gossip, it took several attempts to get my car out of it's awkard spot.
The kids soon told me about the night caching and the local caches in the area, we soon had another cacher join us (Michael) in the heavy discussion of caching.
The two groups left me to it as I searched & searched for the evil cache with no luck.
I thought I found some likely spots, but turned up empty handed
Cheers team Jacks

Not sure why this one has to be near the houses.
Was giving it a go when i heard car coming. The farmer gave me a strange look so I vacated the scene. Didn't even try the other one nearby as that looked like private property and a car came from there as well.

At last. A couple of good paces west of that big GZ. Wet, cold and luckily a find to give us that warm feeling this time.
Thanks to team jacks and clear skies from TeamAstro.

Well this was nowhere near the coordinates, maybe some bracket creep or maybe the coords are off. Took longer to find then it should have.
OMG. At least I found it eventually after almost giving up. Cunning hide.

Found it quickly while Featherwaite was looking elsewhere. Funny to watch, you should have been there. TFTC!
This was my third visit here, with the trepidation of it becoming a nemesis. Luckily my young accomplice BantamCT spotted it within seconds of arrival. (I'd already stepped right over it to search somewhere else!). Thanks for the cache team jacks... even if it did take a while!
