About to upload a series of notes that contain photos of the day.. .. we were looking for a few different ways of uploading the 100+ photos without disrupting geocaching.com too much.. and having them as a note seemed the best way.
the first lot are adults.. the later ones include children. If you see your child's photo and wish it to be removed, please let me know via a private message and i will delete as soon as possible.
As photos are small sizes to minimize space, and you would like a 'larger' jpg of your photo, please drop me a message and we will send it to you!

Briefly attended before my heavily strapped knee succumbed to the cold. I am such an old person when my knee is out. Merry Christmas to everyone I didn't get a chance to see.
Better log this before it is archived and thank all the people that i can
WOW what a day... filled with all sorts of ups and down - which it seems most people DIDN"T know was going on in the background! - Which is great!
KUDOS to ALL the helpers we had, not just our little planning group - but the wonderful people that jumped in and saved the day when things against our control went a little awry.
Mr And Mrs Scoobster almost didn't pull this event together. Having had an unexpected health hiccup mid year which almost meant this event didn't' go ahead.. but great friends and lot of support saw the scoobsters bounce back and resurface to throw what we hoped was a great event for all.
*A big thankyou to Frog Hoppin and honeysucker who helped out no end in the preparation and set up of the day and for keeping the Scoobsters spirits up through out a difficult year.
* Mr Tardis - the man in the blue box who just tele-ported himself around the city....his efforts in keeping mrs scoobster in check to make it all run smoothly was quite incredible !!!. thanks also for the wonderful game you came up with - from all the feedback i've had it was 'just long enough'
*Tamara - Your gingerbread is now legendary - and I'm sure has now become a permanent fixture on the event schedule. thanks for all your efforts - i know you worked hard all week to get them done for us!
*Josie.. the face painting extraordinaire...always a great job.. also glad you got to spend some time with your family too this year.. because that's what this event is all about! <3
* Parrothead - SANTA.. wow.. what an absolutely amazing job you guys do EVERY SINGLE YEAR.
Despite the line getting longer each year.. you still take the time to talk to each and every person who sits on your knee.. your special attention to them is what makes your visit so incredibly special and memorable.
*Gordon Patrick Samuel.. THANKYOUUUUUUUU for driving all the way home to get a backup generator to enable the (very powerful) fairy floss machine to work!
*Firesafe for the gazebos, and the generator, and the fireman cuddles when mrs scoobster was feeling low
*M-SEZ for the last minute rush on BBQ"s - you're a champ!
*Freddo .. thanks for the tug of war - again.. THE NORTH CHEATED!!..but we're all used to that now
*Gadanga - the fruit.. OMG thankyou... BEST FRUIT EVER!!!
*GOTHS - for the bubble mix and wands to keep the kiddies occupied
*chocolates, fudge, drinks, lollies, games.. it was all very much appreciated. So many people to thank - and I KNOW I've forgotten some. but please know - it's not a reflection on you or your efforts at all!. We appreciate each and every one of you who not only help out - but attend and make this a joyous day.
We're very proud the day went ahead with lots of laughter, fun, and good times had by all.
Special thanks to the teams that drove from Port Pirie and afar to attend our event. We look forward to seeing you again.
The scoobsters would just like to say how much we enjoy giving this event back to the community. So many friends help us out, and it really shows just how GREAT South Australians are and what a wonderful sense of community we have.
Thanks for another great event... and we look forward to seeing you all at the next one!! <3
p.s. Attendance Numbers have been calculated.. and drum roll.... we had 278 people in attendance this year!!.. more than half a Mega!!!!!... OMG - RIGHT!! - that's a LOT OF christmas cheer - which is exactly what we want! Well done everyone.

Oops, I'm one of the ones who hasn't logged, sorry Mrs.S. I know you're being hassled to archive. I arrived several minutes after the event started an saw the crowd!! Wow! I could not believe my eyes! So many people! Pup shuddered at the number and had to work on her coping skills for about an hour and then she settled. I didn't get to say hey to everyone because she wasn't handling me stepping away very well -- next year she'll be happier at home! I still had a great time and was grateful for the folks that were willing to stop by and say hi. I wanted badly to taste Myn Lionesses cookies they looked so tastey, but I've been sound so good with my allergies here in Oz that I just couldn't take the chance that the ginger would get to me. The fairy floss wa quite tempting, but to keep from filling up on sugar, I set of to play the game with what has become my usual gang at the Christmas party: Dazzatron & Margieh . Skippy, Moneydork and the shrek4 gang came along as well and we had a ball attacking the hides. It wasn't quite as intensive this time, and I'm glad. It kept the fun in the game, thanks Mr. Tardis. Santa looked just as joyful and merry as usual and the surprise visit from signal was well recieved once everyone realised the frog is trackable! Mrs Froghoppin' did a great job making sure everyone got their name in the book. And the Scoobsters kept everything on track despite all the "unexpecteds" -- well done, really!! The whole crew that was involved (I know there were many behind the scenes did a splendid job. I enjoyed the whole event, thanks!
Can't believe our last Christmas Event was 2007! Well they're still lots of fun, and just like in 2007, North of the Torrens aka "Badlands" (not so really) wins the Tug of War . Big thanks to the organisers and helpers.
Cheers & Merry Christmas and a Happy Caching New Year!

Thanks or a great day! We will remember the friendliness of all who attended; the tug of war; gingerbread; Santa; the excited little ones when the man in red arrived; sitting on Santa's knee; the Christmas Elf; the goodie box; food; pathtags; face painting;the cache game; fairy floss!! We even managed to find the elusive 5/5 cache just before we left. It was amazing that you managed to cram so much into such a short space of time. Thanks to Scoobsters and others to numerous to mention for a terrific day!

What a lovely afternoon, we chilli's had a great time catching up with everyone and playing the game (Amelie's impressed us with her duck). I am POSITIVE I guessed the right number of M&M's (882), but unfortunately we had to leave before hearing the results.
Thanks Team Scoobsters for an outstanding event, and wish you all a happy Christmas.

After a really silly decision NOT to stay in city after Hubby's Christmas Show last night....(we got home at 2am and then had to be driven back---very dumb!).....arrived with just two mins left to complete the wonderful game, so sadly missed that. Never mind, because as per usual the wonderful company made up for it. The amount of effort put into today was clearly enormous and meant a wonderful time was had, certainly by us. Loved seeing Signal and hearing his announcement.
My first Christmas Picnic was 5 years ago. Back then I think there was perhaps one shade and most of us fitted under the shade of one tree, I think. It was fabulous, but most of the park was filled with groups larger than us. Today I think we were THAT BIG GROUP. Loved catching up with old, putting names to stamps..err people and meeting some new cachers from os.(Welcome)
Elf loved, fairyfloss, gingerbread, Santa's lollies, Signal, catching up with friends and receiveing more pathtags to add to his growing collection and of course the Tug of War!!
All in all a great day---Merry Christmas and thanks

Thanks to all those who organised another great event. Lovely sunny day in the park. Meetup withold friends and meet new friends. TFTD
Attended! By me and geodad. It was great fun going around to all the temporary caches even though we got out sheet in just at the last minute! It was great to meet a few people and have them discover my trackable snowman! Took a whole bunch of travel bugs to visit and I have discovered a few too! I can't wait for next year! Thanks to all the organisers for a great day out!
Thanks to the Scoobsters and all the other organisers for a great event!! Always great to meet old friends and meet new ones!!
A perfect day, with sunny skies and just the right amount of light breeze. Yummy treats to offest the sensible healthy lunches. A simple, multi-faceted game. Appropriate guest visitors. What more could anyone want?
A huge thank you to scoobs, frogs, the honeys and the many assorted helpers for another great day.

Due to an earlier commitment with another big red guy, we arrived in time to see him arrive here too!
Still managed three hours of hand shaking and trading stories from this year. Always great to catch up with oldie andnewey cachers! Geokids enjoyed the gingerbread men immensly, thanks Tamara.
Big thanks to Scoobsters, Santa, and all their helpers for a fun day.

Thanks for a lovely event. I was excited to attend my first event and this certainly lived up to my expectations. It was really nice to meet some fellow cachers and run into a few people I didn't even know were cachers!
Better late than never. Conflicting xmas functions make for a busy schedule this time of year. Always great to see familiar faces again. Big thanks to Scoobsters and co for organising the event (mighty disappointed I wasn't able to make it earlier).

we have a question were hoping someone can help us with, who was the man in the black camo?!? we loved his outfit although were not sure how he was drinking his coke.... hahah
WOW, What a ball of fun!
had a great time seeing all the satisfied customers eating and enjoying then coming back for more Gingerbread! At one point I noticed the tray had disappeared entirely which had me most perplexed, but it soon returned with much less on it than before. I only ended up taking about 70 home so it was all good in the end.
The Onigiri my Muggle friend made certainly went down well too and I think I have her very interested in caching but she won't admit it!
I missed my mischievous partner ParisLaura who was a PIKER and didn't turn up today so it could have been funner with her there!
Santa was comfortable this year once I got the courage to sit on his lap for a pic - DON'T FORGET PEOPLE IF YOU SAT ON SANTAS LAP YOU QUALIFY FOR THIS GCA CACHE - http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga4509
I honour the Scoobsters for holding it all together in a mini crisis this morning when everything went arwy and the moon affected peoples minds (I'm blaming the moon). Heidi is AMAZING and needs regular hugs and fireman squeezes. Good thing all those things were readily available today!
The shared food was amazing and the generosity of everyone was just great!
The kids ran themselves ragged and zonked out before we had left the outskirts of the City on our way home! Yay!
Thanx Rodney for a bit of Fairy Floss too
A big clap to the Honeysucker for all his hard work regarding getting stuff done in the background and thanx also to the Flippers and Frogs too! Many talented and willing hands make short work of setting up a fun event!
I would have liked to see 3 rounds of the Tug-of-War though instead of just one as it seemed it was all over just as soon as it started.
Perfect spot I reckon as the shade of that great big tree really gave us a great cool spot for almost everyone!
I wonder what the count of people were this time??
had a great time seeing all the satisfied customers eating and enjoying then coming back for more Gingerbread!

Flying solo this year gave me the opportunity to be a 'social butterfly'. I had brought a chair but that remained folded in the bag for the entire duration of the event. Still only managed to speak to about 40 people which was not even 20% of the attendees, such was the turn up this year.
Congratulations to the Scoobsters and all others that made this event the success it was. CCBTL truly is one of the best events on the annual geocaching calendar.

Atteneded with some other GOTHS. Had a ball. Loved using Chirp for the first time to get a pathtag. Walked around with a great bunch of old and new friend collecting 5 nearby caches. My hat is off to you Team Scoobster. Well done you and all the others involved.
WOW!! The numbers have certainly swelled this year. Awesome to see so many people today.
Didn't know that many, but did speak to some new faces & was lovely to see some old friends as well.
Merry Xmas to everyone & a big thankyou & well done to the Scoobsters , Froghoppin & Honey suckers.

A last minute decision to come after A wasn't sure on how she would feel today. Made it there slightly late, but whilst the crowd was still gathering.
The shade was great, but A couldn't live with the cool or the sun, and so spent the arvo with Anana resting her knee and left me to socialise with old friends.
Stories of caching trips, and even previous xmas parties were shared. Caching certainly has got too big for an xmas event held at a pub these days. I wasn't around for the first ever SA event, but Alex recalled the 14 that were in attendance for that.
Thanks all for the event and a chance to catch up with so many friends in one go!

Another fabulous event, I think the highlights were the Fairy Floss, the Gingerbread, Signal...oh and that guy in the red suit that showed up
well done to all involved in organising it, especially Mrs Scoobster, a great day seemed to be had by all

What a fantastic day it turned out to be, nice weather, lots of shade, lots of great GeoCachers to meet and greet and LOTS of fabulous food and treats.... fairy floss, gingerbread, fudge, fruit salad, cup cakes, there was some healthy food too but we wont mention that hehehe.
A big thank you is in order for
Heidi who did a wonderful job organising and no-one had to wrestle the mike out of her hands
Tamara who did a heck of a job with the gingerbread, I know she was baking all week but I think everyone appreciated her efforts.
Mr Tardis who did a good job on the game with apparently little prep time..his fault I hear
and everyone else that was involved in organising this wonderful event.
This is only my second christmas caching, this years turnout was bigger than last years turnout so looking forward to next years.. we may have to rope off half the park by then

The biggest thank-you goes to everyone who had a hand in bringing this event together for without them we would not have had such a wonderful day. Family, good friends, new friends, good weather, and some caching in the area made this wonderful day even better.
MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all. Maybe we who come regularly from the hills of Nth Queensland or whatever place we happen to be may manage to be in town for 2013.

Again, thanks to the organizers. These things are getting to be mini-megas if there is such a thing. I think the photographers will have to consider fish-eye lenses soon. Merry Xmas and clear skies!!
Although I could only stay for a little while it was lovely to see so many people! Sounds like it only got bigger later on...
Thank you to all the people who did so much work to make a fantastic event! Also to Mtnlioness - some of the best gingerbread I've had in ages.

Great turn out, another great visit from the Jolly one in the red suit, also a special visit from a certain Frog with a great announcement as well. Mookie was tracked down via his chirp, sorry we did not have enough tags to share with every attendee, it was huge, but hopefully a few will get along to the 12.12.12 event and score that special event tag. We also will be looking for nominations for the SA Geocachers awards for 2012 - event and details will be to hand soon.
Thanks to the organisers, another great SA event, we have been on the organising crew for the 2 previous years, so it was nice to play a small part this year as well as getting to sit and relax, even if it was in the guise of Mookie playing Chirp, and no... he did not get a beer, he's still sulking about that.

We had a great time today and I’d like to thank all the organizers for making it a fun experience.
Had lots of beer and gingerbread, won the tug-of-war for the north, watched the children pet our dog and cheered on as Santa gave out the presents. Met up with some old friends and also met up with some new ones, putting faces to the names I come across in the logs. Got a few tips for the puzzles I’m stuck on, and had a wander around the park looking for hidden items. Looking forward to next year event.

Hello,
We were muggle friends of MtnLioness.
We made the onigiri and ate lots of cupcakes, arrived a little late but there was still lots left over.
Had a nice time, interested in Geocaching, gonna give it a go.
Cheers

Great to be in the company of so many happy people. We left early because Gretal can't take crowds for too long. But the Beagle did enjoy sitting on Santa's lap. I told her it would be hard for Santa to find a bone as big as she'd asked for. thank you Scoobsters and everyone else for yet another well organised event.
What an awesome afternoon. Although I did not know alot of people, I did see some faces I recognised. Youngest geodaughter and I attended and managed to sit on Santa's lap. Thank you to all the organisers of the event.

Thanks to Scoobsters and the mini scoobys, honeysuckers, froghoppin and everyone else who put in the efforts to make the event possible!
The poor a Scoobsters barely got to sit down all day, but please know that your efforts are greatly appreciated by all! Thankyou!!
Mr geomonkey was thrilled with the fairy floss treats.. I think he had more than anyone!
And Miss geomonkey just couldn't get enough of Tamara's yummy gingerbread!
I think I'll bring some treats to share next year!
What goes up, however.... Haha! They both crashed it in the car and woke up for dinner and went back to bed! They got up at 9am today- as opposed to the usual 6am start!
Woooohooooo!
Still plenty of people I didn't get around to talking to, but I did manage to meet some other new cachers and catch up briefly with some other friends
Realized on the way home that the darling geomonkey had dropped our Xmas pathtag from Flippers & chirping Mookie, noooooo!
I liked the cache hunt that was set up in the park for the event.. The geokids enjoyed the walk and the stamps
Thanks again guys! And thanks also to everyone who attended, it's great to be part of such a great group of people
Merry Christmas!

Team Engage attended, and had a great time! Nice to catch up with a few people I haven't seen in ages.
Fantastic organizing by everyone involved, to the Scoobsters... you are both incredible..... The day would not have been what it was without you. Fantastic location, fantastic company, fantastic food, fantastic weather. Got to sit on Santa's lap again, as did gadanga. Fairyfloss was delicious, gingerbread delicious, those rice thingy's..gadanga loved them. Fudge delicious, blah blah blah. Oh... and the North won the Tug of War. Looking forward to next year now. Thankyou All.
Thanks to the Scoobsters, Honeysuckers and otherss behind the scenes for another great Xmas Picnic - it nearly made a MEGA - maybe next year
It is always good to get together like this and even Mrs Firesafe made it. TFTE.
