The last cache before we head back home in time for the school run. I left Dad sat in the car (don't worry, the doors were open and I parked in the shade and left him with food and water) and walked down to the beach. I've never been down to this part of the park before. There was a couple walking down in front of me, so I waited until they had gone onto the beach and then made a quick find of the cache. The lid of the cache broke when I replaced it, so it might need somebody with a bit of tape to stick it back together.
We're up in the area for a couple of days walking and geocaching in some of the Auckland Regional Parks which are amazing! The tide was out so we walked along the mudflats here, TFTC
Our first visit to this regional park and we are well impressed. It's a week day, so there is hardly anybody about, the sun is out, the sea is sparkling and the geocaches are waiting patiently... Life is good. Easy find. The cache is all good. TFTC
An afternoon of exploring Mahurangi Regional park, and collecting some caches. The tide was out, but not enough to head over to Mita bay. The cache made it all worth it though. TFTC
After the initial plan to visit Maturangi Park was scuttled due to a trail of newly released FTF's we had to plan another trip here.
So along with Keylev and Mr Stik-A-Crane I drove everyone up to the park (we will not mention the slight detour we took due to note having the Google Maps voice prompt on when driving up.
A great day had even though it was a little windy.
The first cache of day!!

Headed up this way today for a tour around Mahurangi Regional Park with a few members of team SEAC, and 1 muggle.....this was a second attempt at this park, with the first not quite getting off the ground for some reason that now eludes me, but today was a more successful attempt....parking in by the picture frame carpark, we headed for the inlet crossing to get onto the other part of the park as the tides allowed easier access.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing these caches and maintaining them.
This was the first for the day, to get the eyes in, and onto the next.
TFTC.

Headed out here with Mr NZ Travellers, Mr Stik-a-Crane and a new friend who had not cached before. There were previous plans to do this over Labour Weekend but we got distracted with a whole new set of caches on a trail out west so today was the day to rectify this, the tides were in our favour, the weather looked ok (not too hot just windy) and spirits were high. GPS says we walked 12.93kms just over 5hrs.
This was our first of the day after parking up and heading to the estuary....a nice quick find.
Thanks for the cache.

Fourth find of the day with PhilBirdBoys and Gernita, nice quick easy find. TFTC.
Walking around the park with a group of cachers (tramyard, nette1234, garball, RafaJaw, supernannny, Jag50, merlot58, gorby, Aiden29, G_2 and rustynz)
Used a team name so as to not fill up the log, I think it was "Team BS" for blue switch, which is on the 2nd May, and for logging a cache today earned a geocaching souvenir.
Last cache found for me today, as I missed it on the way to the estuary, and so as we walk back to our cars I stopped to sign the log.
A fun find, thanks Team Henricks/Shipway for the hide

Got this one on my way back from Te Muri Regional Park. A nice little container in a good hiding spot! Thanks for maintaining this for over 10 years now! TFTC Team Henricks/Shipway
After the event in Orewa, a group of 11 of us (merlot58, Jag50, G-2, supernannny, nette1234, Gorby, rustynz, Aiden29, Garball, tramyard and myself) carried on to Te Muri Regional Park where we had a super enjoyable time walking the 7km loop track collecting a total of 17 caches within the park (I believe I found a total of 23 for the day... I'm sure there's one I'll forget to log). The advantage of caching with a big group is that we had 22 different eyes searching for the caches resulting in not a single DNF Logs were all signed as Team BS. Thanks to all the CO's for their hides

An event was planned by tramyard at Orewa, which was very nice to attend, much laughter and smiles and coffee! He also organised to come here after the event, so while there were many more people at the event, 11 of us decided to venture further north to walk around Te Muri Regional Park. We parked up on a hill just up from the beach and started our walk down hill to the stream.
As we walked down, this cache was here to be done before we crossed over the stream, I signed myself in not knowing who might have or not have done this cache, later on our return trip back up the hill, rusty and others razzled me for not securing the lid properly, I thought I did, but it was a few laughs anyway, rusty signed the rest of us in as Team B.S. Being Blue Switch day on our geocaching calendar. thanks for bringing us here Team Henricks/Shipway.

After a very successful FTF mission around Te Muri Park today, I made sure to look for the other older caches in the area before returning home to Whangarei.
Cache was a nice quick find here, thankfully in the shade on a very hot sunny summer day. TFTC

Last one for the loop walk, lid is broken and log is wet, dried out best I could.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Down the hill to do the loop walk, was a nice easy find here ina distinctively coloured container. Lid was hard to get back on and stay though. Cheers
Bit of a bigger day today, plenty of finds (35), 15 kms walked, and a few target areas visited and cached 'out'. I was on the trail at Moirs Hill/Pohuehue Falls Track, at 0700 and got back home at around 1630 after also visiting McElroy Reserve, Mahurangi West, and some smaller walks out the back of Puhoi so a variety of scenery experienced too. Thanks to all COs for their caches.

Weather was looking good for today so we decided that we would come and check out this regional park and collect the caches too. This was our first find of the day. Cache was spotted as we approached the hint item so have hidden with something that was nearby.
While camping at the beach, decided to give the orienteering course a go. Pity no one in my family wanted to join me. TFTC
Our last one for the day as we cross the Estuary & head to our tent at Te Muri campground. TFTC
Decided to try and get the caches on this side of the harbour along with the two on saddle island. Started off after lunch to get these caches.
Nearly walked straight past this one as I thought it was going to further along. Nice easy find thanks for the hide

Lovely spot to introduce my Muggle friend to caching. We camp here every summer and now I have a new cache fiend friend. Great hint.
Out and about with Merlot58, alunb and nette1234 for the day. This park was our destination of choice for the day and in particular the puzzle cache. It was great to be able to get these trads on the way around.
We're heading back by now after finding all the caches down the park and this was one of our last. Got there and found the cache easily enough - the log was a bit tired so I got one of my rite in the rain logs out for merlot and we replaced it so that is all good to go.
Thanks for the cache, all renewed and good here now.

Returned to grab this one as we missed it yesterday...a bit wet but soon found. Tftc
I had a nice stroll around the park with my dad and sister. Thanks for the cache.
Had a nice walk in the park and found some geocaches on the way. Such a beautiful place TFTC!
We discovered this was a very popular area on Good Friday. We had a lovely afternoon walking the Cudlip Point Loop Track with a sunfilled lunch break at Te Muri Estuary. The caches made the walk even more enjoyable. Easy find in another corner, well hidden due to some uninviting prickly tree covering the top half corner. Tftc!
We almost needed to become contortionists to reach this one but Mr Coblet's slightly longer arm did the trick.
Nice spot, thanks Team Hendricks/Shipway.

Last find of the day for me. Great park great caches in Mahurangi West. Happy International Geocaching Day 2018!
Team Kiwiscot enjoying a nice afternoon walk around Mahurangi Regional Park. We have been here before several years ago but not sure we were caching at the time. Cache quickly found. Decided against getting wet and heading over to Te Muri beach. Tide coming in and water most likely a little cold. Thanks for the afternoon adventure. TFTC
Today one of us had a birthday and we had the day free, so we decided to come and explore the Mahurangi Regional Park. This was our first visit here, and we had an enjoyable time walking the tracks and picking up caches along the way.
We took the track to the estuary from the top carpark, so this was our first cache on the loop track. A nice easy find with the hint, thanks.

We joined up with Aiden29 to explore Mahurangi. We had to take the long way to this cache as part of the trail is closed off. We spied the cache on our approach to GZ, so after signing in we added some extra natural camo.
Headed up to Mahurangi to explore today with Jag50. We had to take the long way to this cache as the direct trail was closed off. The cache was spotted on approach, so we added some extra natural camo.
Out doing a budokan cache and he says this one is close and we make the quick find after getting dressed because of the water crossing. A little brisk.
Budokan made a quick find as we could see it as we walked up to it. We then spent more time looking for a pen as we had lost them some where. No joy but happy to email details to CO. Budokan gave it a bit more camo and we wandered off.
TFTC hanjac from aussie.

Out and about on an awesome winters day to show my mate Hanjac this special park. We had a good time crossing the deep cold water in the estuary and then heading to the far side of the park to enjoy the view. Grabbed this one on the way back after finding the water level had improved significantly in the couple of hours we had been wandering. Quick find as the cache was lying in the open so placed it a bit better. TFTC
Continued on our wander today with liketips and TheMexican and stopped by this one. Like the others on our journey today it was reasonably straight forward and we soon had the cache in hand. Nice spot - TFTC
Headed north for the day with evilno9 and TheMexican, to see what we could find at Mahurangi. Located the cache easily enough on our way back up the hill after crossing back over the estuary - lucky the tide was low. Nice hide, TFTC
On a walk round the area to collect caches as I was killing time to avoid the traffic jams when driving thru Auckland. Parked at bottom of hill so had to walk up and over. Ground was a little wet under foot. Enjoying the views in the area. Cache was easily found exactly where I expected. Thanks for the cache placement.
Last one of the day and we were rapidly losing the light. Forgot that it was fall in New Zealand and the days are getting shorter - it is spring on Vancouver Island and our days are getting longer. Thanks for the cache!
I was starting to run out of time on my walk so lucky this was a quick find.tftc
Caching with KiwifruitsNZ for the day, our aim was to tackle the caches out at Mahurangi Regional Park. Our last find along the loop track, it's all downhill from here! A nice and straightforward find, thanks for the cache.
