I looked around during the meeting before the meal and was so encouraged by the faces of South Australian cachers who are clearly welcoming a MEGA in South Australia and are willing to roll up their sleeves to see it happen! Afterwards the meal was great and such a bargain! It was nice to visit with everyone in a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere. Thanks for setting this up shrek4 -- what a great find!

It was great to see so many cachers supporting the idea of running a Mega in SA. Help will be needed and it's encouraging to know that there is lots of cachers out there who want to help present a great event. Let the planning begin! It was a great meal and a bonus that it was schnitzel night too!

It was miss Jordan's birthday so we almost couldn't make this.. but she was happy to incorporate going out to dinner for geocaching friends in exchange for selling school fundraising chocolate (she's quite the negotiator!).
Looking forward to learning more about what the 'subcommittees are' and what each one is responsible for as i felt that wasn't really covered. It's hard to put your name down for something when you're not sure what it is!
Apart from that.. Nice to see things are moving along with the event
And we'd also like to thank all those involved for their efforts thus far.
Eagerly awaiting the next meeting.

Great meal, great turn out too. Had fun catching up with people. Good to hear more about the mega too.

Some good discussion was had about the mega before it become more of a puzzle solving event...
Nice little pub, nice meal and you even got quite a range of freddos to show up! (and one even gave some hints!)

What a lovely meeting for a Wednesday night.

After some initial discussion / presentation the group settled on some working groups to continue the planning.

They are,

1. Grounds/Facilities/Security
2. Fundraising/Sponsorship/Stallholders
3. Entertainment/Games/Competitions/Trackables
4. Marketing/Public Relations/Website
5. Merchandise
6. Catering
7. Welcome/Registration/registration packs

Great to see the initial plans for the Oz Mega 2014 starting to take shape and judging by the turnout I am pretty confident there will be plenty of volunteers willing to contribute in one form or other.
Not a bad and pretty cheap meal as well, but the highlight was coffee and great cake at the Scoobsters.

I don't have an interest to be on the organizing committee but I'll come along and say hello...

I wont be there due to having something else already planned for this date.
But I'm keen to be kept up to date with is being planned for this event.

It looks like we'll be O/S at the time of the Mega, but I am still interested in hearing about all the plans and in helping out wherever I can.

Will try and attend, but will only be for a little while as I will be heading off to work.

Ill have to log a maybe for this one, being a school night it will all depend on the kids! I dont know how much input I could have as far as help with the planning but I am interested in hearing about the progress and plans and locations that you have already considered.

I am really glad you guys have taken the initiative to attempt such an event, after 10 years of geocaching in OZ it is great to have a group of people stand up and attempt to get a mega here in SA, it will be a lot of hard work, but I am sure SA will be able to pull off a good one.

The Buffet here is awesome and they also have a playground out the back for the kiddies!

Mega SA - it's heaps good!! Can't make the meeting/dinner but happy to help where and when I can.

Gadanga and I will definitely attend and put our hands up for helping out in any way. Looking forward to it.

Oh! another pub another dinner! We don't have "Pub Dinners" in the US, so this is not ordinary to me . I'm bringing post-it notepads and hoping to get more ideas on them!

I will not be attending the meeting nor will I be having any involvement in the organizing of this mega event.
I do, however, have a vested interest in the establishment of an incorporated body that has been mentioned for consideration at the meeting.
As I will not be attending the meeting I pose the following questions to which I would like a reply prior to this meeting taking place.

• Is the incorporated body being established for the sole purpose of the mega event or will it use the body corporate perpetual succession it has to then sneak through as an ongoing incorporated body representing all South Australian caching thereafter?
• Who will be the listed members of the incorporated body?
• How will the public officer position be determined?
• Who will be involved in establishing the rules of the incorporated body?

As previously stated, happy to assist with SA MEGA organisation (behind the scenes), but not until NZ MEGA is out of the way, as I'm fully committed it for the time being.
