Mr Tardis was out for an adventure motorbike ride through the quiet back roads north of Orroroo. I found this one after a short search. Sone interesting history here. Signed the log. Thanks for the cache dolphinhwii.
Away for the June Long Weekend with TheWhiteDogGang. We based ourselves at Orroroo and travelled far and wide over 4 days. We managed 1,500 kms during our travels. We managed to find some really old caches, one from 2001, and even managed to get all 9 terrain ratings. Not bad for 2 old farts with no coordination. The weather was dry if not cold on occasions.A good way to spend 4 days.RIPTFTC
Full time Nomads since March 2014.
Having been in Perth to visit family our stay has come to an end and we are on our way to Broken Hill for the Mundi Mundi Bash.
Staying in Orroroo for a few days. Today we headed up towards Carrieton and surrounds. On arrival in Carrieton we got a message from our Geobuddies Iluvtrekking and richlink that they were only 15k's away themselves heading down from Hawker. Great to stop and chat to them but boy it was freezing at 9degrees and sadly it was too early for the pub to be open. So we grabbed a couple of caches with them before they continued South and we went off to explore.
Turned out we came across an old cache from 2001 and also did a marvellous 4x4 track for a 1/5 cache. Views were a bit cloudy but still amazing fun.
A great day out and about.

Travelling with iluvtrekking up the WA coast to Darwin, down the Centre and in the Flinders Ranges. Now travelling through to Peterborough picking up finds along the route. Thanks dolphinhwii
Travelling with richlink from Perth to Darwin up along the west coast and home again through the centre and the Nullarbor, picking up caches as we go. Today, along the road from Hawker to Peterborough. TFTC.
Staying in the park at Orroroo we did the Johnburg tourist loop and made a quick find and sign as the rain began
Another day grabbing a few caches while staying in Jamestown and caching towards Orroroo and surrounds.
The lid of the container was shattered so we replaced the container and put the log in a new zip lock.
Many thanks for showing us this lonely spot dolphinhwii

Found on a short overnight trip from Adelaide up to Hawker to attend a funeral.
I wasn’t really planning to do too many caches, but I was staying overnight at the pub at Orrorroo and arrived in town a bit early, so took the opportunity to find a few around town.
This was a quick find.
Thanks dolphinhwii for the cache.

Found during a caching trip to SA's mid north staying at Orroroo for two nights and Jamestown for one night. Another circuit of caching completed while out for the afternoon around Orroroo. Thanks for the cache dolphinhwii!
A very interesting place for graves. The views of the rolling hills around this area are magnificent. The cache was found no problem.
Trip to the Mid North with the geo-pup. Day 5, walking around Orroroo.
Great piece of history, thanks!

This weekend, I joined Laighside Legends on a trip up north, with the main plan to visit the Bendleby Ranges on Saturday, followed by a hike in the Southern Flinders Ranges at Rawnsley Bluff. We managed to escape the rain and poor weather in Adelaide, and we were only affected by minor drizzles and some cold winds on Sunday morning.
Today we headed from Peterborough to Hawker via the Bendleby Ranges. After driving through Yatina and Orroroo, it was then driving the back roads / "Sunday Scenic Drive" through Johnburgh and Belton. The Bendleby Ranges 4WD were tackled, with LL's Hilux being tested going up some of the difficult terrain. We continued on finding a few oldie geocaches, passing through Holowilena and Warcowie, and arriving at Hawker as it just started getting dark. Awesome ruins, interesting lonely grave sights, and a few exploratory shafts / caves were just a few of the day's highlights.
We were driving past this cache, so I managed to convince Laighside Legends to make a quick stop here, where the cache didn't take long to find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks dolphinhwii for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Caching is great for showing us little gems like this. Otherwise one would just whizz past on the road without noticing. Thanks
This spot is certainly socially distanced!!! Lonely pioneers they are.
Cache was almost one with the earth it rested in too, but in good condition still.
Only finding caches at an acceptable social distance,
With the help of Sebastbat often driving, and Jack just hangin' around.
And our good friends soap, water, and alcohol...
Stay away from smelly humans

wear gloves, but please change them between caches!

After a lovely night at the camp site (great facilities for tent campers) but a crap game of footy (if you are a Pies fan) it was up and ready for a day of caching in the Orroroo surrounds.
We travelled all over the countryside and had a fantastic day. We did an epic multi, visited lots of abandoned structures with heaps of history, saw lots of Orroroo masters games venues and called in at the pub in Pekina for a beer. Great day of country fun, punctuated with some super finds. Love a good day of SA country caching.
It started off very cold this morning with low lying clouds meaning we were in fog for the first couple of hours. Once this burnt off it was a superb winters day, sunny and warm. We saw lots of sheep, roos, wallabies, goats and an echidna which was cool. Rex had a brilliant day and was absolutely shattered by the time we got back to the campsite.
Once of many grave sites visited this weekend, we do enjoy them. TFTC dolphinhwii

Hi there dolphinhwii.
We found your cache **"Pioneers"** at 12:20:00 PM today. (This makes our find count 17304).
We cached a circle around Orroroo today, & thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area. We ended up finding a variety of container types and sizes hidden along the way. Today we found 17 caches (& DNF'd 0). Thank you for placing this cache here, without geocaching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our travels.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found the cache around 2m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** A Smiley Badge.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards

Found easily. But the container is disintegrated. So we replCed it. Found with Chrisval7. You may need to put a better replacement here in place of ours!
Out with LLL51 and Madham02 for a day of exploring and caching. We had just come from Orroroo and were heading to Johnburgh and Carrieton and stopped here to look at another lonely grave. We have seen quite a few of these over the past few days, great history lessons.
Thanks for the cache dolphinhwii.
Thanks for the cache dolphinhwii.
We have seen a number of single graves on this trip, always interesting and thought provoking trying to imagine the way of life and circumstances of the death and burials. Thanks guys
Found a very smashed container and a log some distance away. Owl had the same sized systema in her car, so it is now bright, shiny and new.
Ismartis was now heading home from a great adventure in the Flinders joined by Dr Owl who was going to be extracted from the caching vehicle by Eagle at some point during the day. But for now there was business to do, fun to be had and caches to find
The duo took more dodgy backroads to this cache at the direction of Owls GPS!
They then found a broken & smashed container on the road. Ismartis found the logbook a few metres away still in good condition in its snaplock bag.
The moral of this story is - it's worth buying good quality plastic bags as they last the rigours of time.

This cache was well out in the open for all the passing traffic to see. Placed it out of sight. So much for sacred ground, hope the cattle enjoyed the grass! TFTH

If you do not agree with this you are more than welcome to delete the log.

A quick stop before hitting the big smoke down the road. The lid of the cache cracked when I was closing it. It might be time for a replacement.

There seem to be a lot of these lonely graaves scattered around this area
This grave was surprisingly well constructed and the inscription is legible.
Apparently this bloke was interred here in 1904 [:o]
At least he has a quiet plot and doesn't have to listen to his neighbours turning in their graves

Today was our 2nd day in Orroroo & we took a drive around the country side. Some roads were a little damp after recent rain. Great farming land, & interesting locations we visited.
The caches we found were interesting & varied.

This is definitely a candidate for the “Alone or Lonely” series, as it’s a very isolated place to spend eternity. There was a sleepy lizard just in the grass past the fence, and he was obviously not fully awake yet at 0900 as he let me pick him up without any fuss [^].
After returning the little fellow to a sunny patch of ground, I went and found the cache. No swaps. Cheers

I've been past here on many occasions, but little did I realize it was a cemetry?
Sorry dolphinhwii for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks dolphinhwii for placing this cache.
Stopped off to do this one after a weekend 4WDing at Bendleby Ranges. Quick stop and easy find.
Up early and heading to The Pub lunch in the sticks with SA Sewer Rats. How could we resist grabbing few on the way up.
Bumped into Firesafe, Locus and Mr and Mrs Honeysucker on the way up.
Lots of laughs and fun was had by all.
Cheers and thanks for the caches

Chrispy89 was holding the Pub Lunch In the Sticks, so firesafe, Homeysuckers, Burton's, SA Sewer Rats and I were out for the day
Burton's and SA Sewer Rats left us at Clare at about 10pm on the way home while the rest of our group continued caching until about 3am, just because we could
All up, I locus cache'd 69 caches with a smiley result and 2 with DNF's and attended a great event too

After a night visiting friend in the area nearby the night before thought we would pick up a few caches as we had not done any in Orroroo so Easter Long week end an ideal time to do this spending time together. Geodaughter and Geodad found this one easily. Took TB Ribbert as he has been here long enough 4 months latrer we have taken him hopping heading to Darwin in next few week so he will be hopping to Darwin soon but through a few more cahces on the way..
