Logs
Found with HomeSprout on 03/07/24... had no service to log it and remembered it just now:)
Went hiking with a group, but they wouldn't let me stop and search very much At least found this one - all good here!TFTC!
No platform here anymore but some of the trees have been cleared so the view is back! TFTC
After an embarrassingly long time bashing around the bush like a wasted weka and ending up half way down the hill, I decided to give up on this cache and sullenly make my way back to the track.
So, of course, on my way back, I spotted the cache, clear as day

Overshot the mark a bit but once looking in another direction, i see i had walked right past it. TFTC
First find for a couple of new cachers! This was a satisfying one to track down. Thanks for bringing us here.
Wow... That was a quick find and log after I followed the geotrail...
Thank you for the cache

Rain perhaps finished? Came out here anyway and we're lucky to do this loop. Reservoir full!... TFTC
Found this cache today whilst doing the suspension bridge loop walk. What a great walk. Cache contents were damp, so unable to sign log. Thanks for placing cache. Have sent photo for proof.
Easy and quick find on a lovely loop trail. Log is wet so couldn’t write on it with the pen.
It was really hard to find, but we found it The paper was a bit wet , so we put it back in the bag.
This cache topped off a lovely walk. Not sure it’s in its correct location but it is camouflaged well enough that I confused it for a trapping device. Tftc
Great find! Space for big trinkets. Booklet is very wet and may need replacement by the next person.
This was a DNF but that’s entirely on me - slippery leaves and clumsy me are a bad combo so I abandoned ship. The view is great though, not nearly as blocked as it once was
Found while out hiking with a dance mum friend, while our girls are at day camp. TFTC
Unfortunately had a family hunker down at the lookout, so couldn't really go crashing through the trees to find it. Wil have to come back another time
We came up from the Waikato for a walk in the Hunuas today. Not a very nice day for it with drizzly, cold weather but it's not so bad once you're walking in the bush. Great to find a few caches along the way as well. This cache is well hidden and camouflaged in the bush, but has good co-ordinates. TFTC
Co odds spot on for this one, taking advantage of the last warm months of summer. Was good to see in person the low damn levels, wish I had come when they were at their lowest.
With lockdown lifting this morning a plan was put in place for a quick jaunt around Hunuas with some of Team SEAC.
Quick find a little way off the track and we were on our way.
Thanks for the cache. Signed Seac to save space.

Out with my geocaching family today to do the walk. Logs were signed "Team Seac" to save room on the log.
Awesome view from up here.

Doing the Suspension Bridge Loop to grab the two caches here.
Quick find and we loved the size of the cache.
GREAT VEIW!

Happy the view is back here, it made the climb up worthwhile. The GPS on the phones was jumping around a bit but we headed in the correct direction in the end and made the find. Happy to have had a decent rest stop here. Found with darthcacher1 and purply
Nice to have a cache at this cool lookout. Some muggles decided to congregate at the stairs leading up to it, which suited us perfectly. TFTC
Biggest cache we have ever found - very cool! Lots of muggles about though. Quite far off the track but still enjoyable. TFTC
Having found another cache on the track without any coordinates we knew there’d be one at this viewpoint. We found a geocache-looking path and surely enough we found the cache! Nice hide in a great spot! Tftc!!
Another nice easy find along a worn out track. Not much in there at the moment, and I already dropped a few things in the previous one. Tftc
great cache, a real box stamped roof at the top of a very physical climb!
it was worth the cost! I added a small object

#7668. Today the rest of the family decided they wanted to go to a movie. I was keen to pick up some more geocaches in Auckland and decided a trip to the Hunua Ranges was called for. I have seen the old geocache showing on my oldest North Island cache list and decided I needed to find it this trip as I am working on getting as many of the pre-2005 NZ caches found that I can locate. So headed down this way and parked in the carpark. After finding the old cache I decided to continue up the track and locate this one and then go down to look at the dam. Once at the view I saw the GPS was pointing down the side spur. So wandered down and made a quick find of this nice large container. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache as found. Thanks mattandjax for hiding it here and giving me an excuse to do some hiking in the Hunua Ranges.
It appears that whoever stole the view has returned it as it is now magnificent. There are far too many of these seats around the country which were placed for a view which has long since been obscured by trees. Its great to see one where the trees have been cleared and the view restored.
After taking in the view Mr Coblet headed towards the cache but quickly aborted the search when a group of muggles appeared. He tried to cover up what he was doing by pretending he thought he had seen an alternative track but it questionable whether the muggles bought it or just thought he needed a comfort stop.
In any case, they soon moved on and when the coast was clear the cache was found successfully on the second attempt.
Such a good sized container and in great condition. We love hides like this.
Thanks mattandjax for a great hide. Fingers crossed the view isn't stolen again.

Initially searched the wrong side of the track but kiwikenny came up with the goods. Great size for travel bugs but we forgot ours!
Day two of a weekend in Auckland with my wife. She loves to geocache, I keep her company.
A nice view and a nice resting spot after all those steps.
JDScout had a conference in Auckland for part of the week so I met up with him on Friday night. Hopefully we will find a few geocaches on this trip as I haven't got many left to find in Christchurch.
Thanks mattandjax for placing this geocache 7660 find for me.
Sadly there was no large event in New Zealand in 2019 but there are a few Mega events planned in Australia. New Zealand will have another large event in 2020 in Auckland.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
Planning for the NZ Mega 2020 event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. Thanks for hiding this geocache.

We didnt let the rain and wind stop us getting out for a walk. Cache all safe and well. Tftc
Great news, the view is back! Dropped off the ridge a little early but eventually traced back to GZ. Cache is in great condition too. Thanks
Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, aka WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Drat. Always limited w time when going w a group who wants to keep pushing forward haha. Looked quite a bit in the bush behind but couldn't spot it. Maybe another day
The stairs leading up the hill are under construction, but this didn't stop us getting to GZ.Cache was quickly located thanks to the hint.
The heart was still pounding in my ears as I looked for this one. All in good order. Tftc
I was bringing up the rear feeling hot and puffed and had just arrived at GZ when I heard Mrs Jag call out found it. So lovely to see such a decent size cache here, cache all in good order
Exploring the loop, and we found a few more steps to the top of the look out
So where is the view? yep hiding behind those trees!
When we got back to solid ground we then went looking for the cache. I think the first "plastic" amo can I have ever found.
The two TB have been taken, to move onto new adventures. Thanks for the hide mattandjax.

After a nice walk but slow walk due to Tinytree and friend insisting that they want to carry a branch with them which needed be re-adjust every 20-30 metres we arrived at the look out at the top. Found a nice little track to the cache that was larger than expected and without any cover. We dropped 2 TB's and picked up 2 TB's. TFTC.
I used that sunny and nice weather to do a little hike at Hunua falls. Last time I have been here the bridge was closed because of a helicopter operation, today the way was free.
That was a nice one. Needed a few Moments to reach it but I was glad to find this beautiful Cache in a good shape. Left two TB's here
Thanks for hiding this Cache.

Beautiful old style container! Enjoyed Sunday walk here in the area. All good at GZ. TFTC
Nice hike in the Hunua Ranges on a beautiful day with some caching on the way. Nice big cache. TFTC
Strolling around on Easter Monday and collecting a few caches around this area. Wow, this one was big! Very nice. TFTC
Out and about to find some caches for the planetary pursuit souvenir challenge. Found together with Piratenschatzsucher! and Pyphant. TFTC
Found it! Pretty easy to find with the hint, so good work. Not a lot in it though. Only a Christian booklet and three lego blocks. Still nice to sign the log book though
The view was definitely gone, but I could not locate the cache either. NB. T1.5?? Not unless you are dropped in by a helicopter!
Cache number 3368. Enjoying my little walk in the Hunuas especially as I had managed a FTF. Arrived at the tower and headed off to find the cache. Thank fully it was a nice easy find. It is always so good to see these larger caches in the bush. After signing I climbed the tower to check the view. Yep no much to see. Shame that there has to be trees in the bush that cover the views. No I prefer bush to views but a view is great every now and then. No view so a short stay before carrying on. Thanks for the placement.
Caching as Team Booty today with liketips and TheMexican as we all made recent purchases that we were testing out here today.
Was initially sent over the wrong side of the track thanks to a confused Mexican, but once she corrected a few likely spots revealed themselves and the cache was soon found.
Another cool spot - TFTC

Tftc. Out with Pricefamily6 today on a trek to the hunua's. Great hide this one I think nature reclaimed the view.
I reckon who stole the view! They put this platform here and then the trees kept growing. That is a little unfortunate!. Cache itself is in great shape and found with gernita. TFTC
What an excellent place to stop and have lunch. I'm sure the view would be awesome if you could see it. The cache container is very cool. We've never seen a new ammo box. TFTC.
Thanks for the update of the absent trackables, I Have marked them as missing, so they don't show up in the cache
