Today I was feeling heaps better after my first full night sleep in 6 weeks yay to that. So after a morning of admin I decided to head up the hill and collect a few multis and then head to CP world for a circuit of the cats and dog series. The walk around the conservation park was just what my mental health needed. I think I’d like to come back and have a nice walk along the trails and take away the bush bashing. I lost my glasses on the way to a cache which I was a bit cross with myself about but need to get some new ones in a few weeks so I guess not that bad . Was glad not to see any snakes on the trails today. Rex would have loved it here I thought about him a lot today and also a friend who I learned today had passed away like I said a good day for a mental health walk.
Thanks started here on my walk took a little while to locate TFTC I didn’t realize the prison was so close to MB

A nice walk around this park today attending the event in the middle we found all the caches in the loop easily enough and an enjoyable spot

Today we headed out to Murray Bridge to attend the annual CP event, decided to make a full day of it and do some touristy things around town and cache along the back roads, throwing in a few walks along the way.

Thanks for the cache

A great day with JJ52. We started at Mypolonga and found a few caches there. We ran into Hevwalker and her crew while we were there. Then we made our way to CP's Climb My Tower event. We ended up finding all the caches in the Kinchina Park. We found more than we thought we would and are feeling the effects after. TFTC

18-Sep-22
I had come down here to attend the Come climb CP's TOWER event with allister w. We started caching at Mypolonga finding caches there along with an Adventure Lab. After topping up with petrol, food and coffee we headed to Kinchina Conservation Park with the aim of finding caches from Maurice Road and heading down to the event. This plan took WAY longer than we had anticipated and we arrived at the event with 15 minutes to spare. Surprised

It was a lovely walk around the park meeting other cachers along the way while finding some quality caches. Needless to say this was a HUGE walk for me and I was absolutely stuffed by the time we got to the event. I was so pleased when finally getting back to the car for a well earned rest, but we did find more caches than we anticipated. CoolBig Grin

Thanks for the cache Lindakyritsis. Smile

Today with COVID-19 requirements still in effect, but fitness still being promoted, @jesswrigley and I decided to head to Murray Bridge Hills Trails for some mountain biking in Kinchina Conservation Park. We parked off Old Princes Highway / Tower Road, and so approached the area from the south along the Jailbreak Trail. I had never been to this area mountain biking before, and so my first impressions were it was really soft and sandy, and some areas of really rocky segments. From there, we did part of the Jailhouse Rocks Loop, crossed over Maurice Road, and rode part of the Getaway Car Loop. There were some interesting views of nearby Mobilong Prison, including sounds and announcements that could be heard from our riding around. We then rode the Rocky Gully Link, and from there, we should have started heading back south, but I pushed on to a few target cache types, like the multi-cache. There was also a nearby EarthCache, and those are generally always enjoyable completing together to enjoy the location, and discuss the questions/answers.
We rode a little longer along the Lavendar Federation Trail, before finding a tunnel to go under the railway, and we headed back, joining the Cypress Hill Trail.
The new Cypress Hill Trail (looks like it opened in October 2019) was really fun and some sections quite flowy. We rode that to its easterly end, and then came back under the railway across the stepping stones, going up rocky valley, and then tried to ride the direct route on the Jailbreak Trail back to the car.
A fun and exhausting day out, riding 16 km in total. It was a planned half-day of fitness, before the rain rolled through an hour after finishing up.

I enjoyed seeing the small artifact nearby, which were the remains of a horse-drawn tip dray? Kinda cool, with also views of the nearby prison. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Lindakyritsis aka. hooneybird for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

We parked the car under a shady tree and headed up the hill. Unfortunately we had not realised how hot it had become and neglected to take any water with us. The lid of the jar need my hubby's extra strength to remove the lid as it had rusted to the jar. I was never going to be able to open this one. SL TFTC

I enjoyed spending a weekend up in Murray Bridge with my folks Sylken, and after a very fun and successful evening of night caching last night, we were up with the birds again today to grab some more caches on our way to Swan Reach to do La Cueva.

Having learned about the ferocious mosquitoes in the area from last weeks geocaching expedition, this week we came fully armed and prepared before we even attempted our first cache for the day. Beautiful weather, beautiful scenery and some really fun caches = perfect Saturday Smile

This cache took longer to find than it should have. After circling GZ we stood back and soon spotted a likely hide. Sure enough the cache was found. Cache and contents were in good conditios. When we checked our GPS the published co-ordinates were spot on.

Today is our last day after two weeks caching and sightseeing around Murray Bridge and the Adelaide Hills. This little patch of caches just spoilt an otherwise pleasent sea of smileys. We could not leave with this splot still intact. Loved the walk through the bush and the views back across the countryside.
Thanks for the cache hooneybird.

We are leaving Murray Bridge today, our time at OZ Mega 2014 is almost up. Before what is bound to be another cracking cooked breakfast I decided to attack a few caches.

A further climb up the hill from Jail Break #1 meant that I was rewarded with great views.

As I approached I saw a particularly cachey area and yep, it contained the hidden treasure.

The log was signed and I spent a few moments taking in the views of Murray Bridge bathed in morning light.

Well the big day has arrived and we can log our attendance at the Oz Mega 2014 Murray Bridge and gain the Mega souvenir on our GC souvenirs page Cool It is also the day when we will be attempting the 8 in 1440 Challenge cache so a variety of caching styles were to be found. Razz We had a very interesting morning caching with Team Robins and Everlasting and then after lunch, teamed up with Gunnie 69 and Kaisho 53 at the Flash Mob Event to be followed with an interesting afternoon of caching. We enjoyed meeting all the various caching teams at the Mega Event and the various associated activities. Thank you for having placed the cache hooneybird [(:)]

South Australian OZ Mega 2014 in Murray Bridge. A Twelve day trip to and from the mega. Plenty of caching along the way and near Murray bridge. A great time with lots of cachers all over the place to make for a very entertaining period.

I joined up with Sol de Lune for the lead up to the Mega and the mega itself. Mega Day 4, and the day to collect 10 cache types. Letterbox, traditional, multi, unknown, event, mega, CITO, Whereigo, lab and Earth cache. Although there is a webcam and virtual in Adelaide we did not take the chance to get 12 today. With a bit of spare time we went on a walk up this hill for three caches. Thanks.

Our 8291st overall find.

Found with FarmerFrentzen and Marcus Vitruvius on our trip to the OZ Mega 2014. This was a very impromptu trip with my manager only approving my leave a week or two out. We managed to snag some cheap flights and met up with MV in SA to have a roaring 3 day tour.

Found simply on our way back down the hill, the SPOR kind of gives it away!

Thanks hooneybird for the cache.

A short walk up the hill from the parking spot and first cache, Kaisho53, Just-A-Trifle and I zeroed in on GZ and I spotted the cache on approach. With a nice quick find under our belts, we etched our details in the log, tucked it back and moved on.
