The second Flash mob I have attended and it was great. Seemed like we all got in the action and kept the sith at bay.

Many thanks the Hahn Solo himeself for organising the event.

Indeed the Fourth was with me

04-May-13
cool fun with the balls to be had. The crew had a ball and even bought there WII light sabers. May the Forth Be With You

04-May-13
We arrived with some princesses ready to do battle .... Saw the double death star was surrounded by strange creatures from a comic world - pink hair, green bodies and some strange body coverings..but we weren't to be deterred. Victory for the Rebel alliance was the only thing standing in the way of a peaceful Geo world.

Suddenly we heard the sirens sound and anguished cries rose through the battlefield we once knew as 'The Mall'. The once peaceful Mall was transformed into a sea of glowing light sabers and whirring guns. Faces masked the enemy as the rebel alliance fought gallantly. With sabers drawn, they battled hard, Princesses verse Vader.....Vader verse yoda...Obi vs the Darth Maul, ....... slowly the Imperial starfleet officers began to fall as they were overpowered by the power of Good.

Battle lines were drawn... the enemy had failed and cheers rang out as the Rebel Alliance rose to VICTORY.
Our gallant leader .. 'HAN FREDDO SOLO' was lifted high in the air .

A battle won -- A tale that will be told for generations to come.

I woke up this fine Saturday morning and said to my children: I'm your Father. They said: Use the Fork, Luke. Suitably charged with a double shot of expresso we arrived at GZ to find Iron Man, The Hulk, Flash and Catwoman! WTF? In a galaxy far far away there is supposed to Jedi and Sith. Hutt and Fett. Iron Man, The Hulk, Flash and Catwoman must be lost from another dimension.

At high noon the battle commenced. It is amazing how much fun you can have poking people with a piece of plastic while saying woosh, woosh, hmmmmm. Five minutes passed in a jiffy and then it was onto the boring bits. I promise next time I will bring two packets of chocolate treats.

Steve has posted the movie URL. If you can handle a 22MB download here is a link to an animated gif. Make sure you watch for the lone clone stormtrooper. He gets around. http://teamunicycle.net/gc/MayTheFourthAdelaide.gif

Thanks people you made a fun event lots of fun. Did you feel the force?

04-May-13
I was very excited when mum told me about this one, I went as Darth Vader and when we sat waiting for it all to begin I was not sure everyone would do it, but when the battle begain it was very exciting with light sabers getting me from all directions. That was fun, can we do it again? Smile

04-May-13
Just realised it's the Fourth!!!!! We will come along seeing as there are so many people coming out in fourth! ( and that food is involved afterwards! Smile

04-May-13
I have a spare kids jedi costume and cape that ill bring along if anyone wants to borrow it

We are leaving straight from soccer though and will be cutting time fine

04-May-13
Strolled on down from work, fought off the evils of the universe and back to work in 10 minutes. Us heroes have such a busy calendar.
Thanks for the gathering,
Freddo.

04-May-13
I arrived a little early to find that the double death star had been taken over by some non-geocachers from some other movie. Once we had assembled and the Cox clock struck noon the battle begun! After we had successfully reclaimed the double death star we went and had lunch with Freddo. And sadly, he didn't use the force fork...

04-May-13
It was a fair fight that seemed to be over very quickly. Engaged as many others in battle as I could manage. The other super heroes we encountered confused matters somewhat, but a good time was had by all. Thank you to Hahn Solo alias the Frog for arranging the coordinates. From an intergalactical battle to the Festival Theatre tonight to see a flying car.

04-May-13
TFTE Freddo. Nice event and well organised. Went out to lunch afterwards and managed to score a few pathtags! Smile

The fourth was weak in this one.. Only dawning on me on the way home that the date is in fact "May... " [:o)]
Thanks to locus for the battle wand, and to Freddo for the loan of the extra weapons once the geokids hijacked mine!
A great time was had by all! The kids were lucky enough to score a frog and a smiley badge too! Smile

I used to work in Rundle Mall and would often see ALL kinds of kooky goings on.. For once, we were a part of it! Wink [^]
Another well executed event, thanks Freddo!
As always, it was great to see everyone Smile
Can't wait to see the $2 frog cam footage!!

Well that really was lots of fun, I have not had the chance to attend a flash mob before so this was interesting to see how it would work. We arrived at the double death star and looked around and saw lots of comic book characters but few light sabers, then on 12 o'clock the whistle blew and the battle began, the two sith lords in the crowd where grosely out numbered by a strong alliance. In the end it is always Good that defeats the Bad Wink

We had photos, helped randoms in thier scavenger hunts and had a great time. Thanks Freddo for event

04-May-13
oh... that was fun, and the added characters all around did not make us look odd....... one little bit..... Mrs. Flipper attended with the Scoobsters who had the decoy devices in full "may the forth " regalia.... also known as the pups... when the clock struck, we came to do battle... which took place, and then we left after a picture or video for some one playing another game... you mean there are other people doing kookie things that don't involve a GPSr ???????
Mr. Flipper missed all the fun... but he was off in his own ship... wheeling around the 'burbs on another mission.

Thanks Hahn Solo... 'twas a bunch of fast paced fun.

cheers
Gayle minus Mark

04-May-13
Awsome event. After we went caching. I wonder how random it would have looked from the muggles

04-May-13
we had lots of fun at this one, my dad dropped us off around the corner because my little brother was asleep. we didn't hang around for long after. tfte

04-May-13
Arrived on time, got light sabred a couple of times, signed log book, enjoyed the fun. Thanks Hahn Solo for the fun.

04-May-13
Great fun and a great turnout!!!! ..................... although our antics were seriously overshadowed by the comic book conventioneers in their full costumes!!!! Thanks Freddo for organising this tremendous gettogether!!!

04-May-13

Met Freddo

04-May-13

The correct physics is "....the energy is strong with this one...." Clear skies.

04-May-13
What fun! Put effort into "thinking" about a costume, but after some research found that I don't have the figure to be a Star Wars character...so Moneydork and I ducked into reject shop and came out right at the midday chimes well equipped for the battle (with sound effects too!). Thanks for the fun, Freddo!

04-May-13
May the Fourth be with you as seen Elsewhere.
This will give some the chance to log a find for GCHFT6 $2 Freddo Cam
Fine Elsewhere

04-May-13
Arrived with the light sabers and found: The Hulk and other comic people at our double Death Star! So we enveloped them in saber battle and reclaimed our double Death Star! Cool
This was so much fun for old and young alike.... Having the opportunity to poke and prod people without showing mercy was brilliant Wink
Sadly, some light sabers were killed in this event but no warriors for either side were!
After the flashmob logged the log book and yes, it was a flashmob around Hahn Solo... 20 chocolate Freddos for 30odd people guaranteed that! Wink it was time for space rations at the Mos Eisley Cantina so off we traipsed.
Soon after that, some of us headed out en masse to get a couple of caches prior to returning to our own planets.
Had a blast today and here's to the next flash mob event Smile

Attended this event with jezza_nator, greedy parrot, AtomicRabbit and luckylu66. We had so much fun. When the clock struck twelve, cachers jumped out from everywhere and started fighting. Met some cachers, received some pathtags. Tight squeeze to sign the log book. Yum, Freddos!! After the event we went for lunch with a few other cachers. After lunch we also went caching, found some great ones. Three were by Freddo too. This was a brilliant event, can't wait to go to another one!!
TFTE Hahn Solo(Freddo)
The force was with everyone!!

“That’s no moon, it’s a space station.”
“This is some rescue. You came in here and you didn’t have a plan for getting out?”
“This will be a day long remembered. It has seen the end of Kenobi, and will soon see the end of the rebellion.”
“Watch your mouth kid, or you’ll find yourself floating home.”
“What are we going to do? We’ll be sent to the spice mines of Kessel and smashed into who knows what.”
“You just watch yourself. We’re wanted men. I have the death sentence on 12 systems.”
“This is Red 5, I’m going in.”
“I’ve got a very bad feeling about this.”
“I find your lack of faith disturbing.”
“Into the garbage chute, flyboy!”
“The Force is strong with this one.”
“You’re all clear, kid! Now let’s blow this thing and go home!”

“May the Force be with you.”

04-May-13
It was a great event!

04-May-13
Hi fellow Cachers! I just wanted to say Thank You for all the fun I've had from your Event! I'm in Montana and couldn't quite make it for real but thanks to all your Pictures it feels like I was there! Thanks for letting me 'lurk' !! Smile

Had a great time hiding waiting for the clock to strike twelve. We watched the cartoon characters having photos taken at GZ and wondered how long they would stay once the battle began. Bong, bong, bong and the battle began. Light sabers appeared from everywhere!! It was so much fun! Thanks Freddo for arranging this great event! Thought you were rather game holding the log book as hands appeared from all directions holding stamps, stickers and pens! A great day that will be recounted for a long time. Great to see the kids small and large having such a good time.

04-May-13
The force strong was with Mary. The Jedi she sought fought and fought. Loved it when Mary popped out from the back of the Death Stars and in Yoda speak scared two young geokids into fits of laughter, thus rendering them unable to fight. Had a great time, only sorry I couldn't stop and catch up with others at lunch. TFTE Freddo...

04-May-13
we came, we fought, misterdrews lightsaber broke (3 times), we fought some more, we signed the log, we ate choccies, we popped bubbles, then we left. fabulous event by Hahn Solo... Tee Hee. Well organised event, cant wait to see the video capture from the $2 freddo cam

04-May-13
we arrived just on time, the 3yo was asleep in the car so mr McKee Clan stayed in the car and sent the daughter in to represent him, she isn't too into caching but the other 2 boys had a lot of fun. we dissapeared quickly afterwards. tfte

04-May-13
Mr Wibble attended in Jedi robe and squishy light saber. Attacked a storm trooper for a bit, but oddly ended up battling with other Jedis. Complimented Iron Man on his costume and saw a Deadpool!
Many thanks to Hahn Solo for organising.
This attendance is being logged as a note until after the Great Scouts Geocaching competition has completed, as Mrs Wibble (the Scout half) unfortunately could not attend and we don't want it counting towards the competition total. We'll change it to an attended after the competition.

04-May-13
Had a great time, thanks Freddo! Lots of fun acting up in the Mall and then chatting afterwards. Smile

04-May-13
Obe Owl Kenobe approached the death star. Light sabres to the left of her, blasters on the right, comic characters that had to be dispatched, so many targets it was hard to decide who was Dark and who was Light – so she just attacked them all! Great fun was had by all, the log book was mobbed, the younglings must have gotten the chocolates, the scavenger hunters who got so many people to say ‘May the Fourth be with you!’ should have won their event, and then the combatants wandered off for lunch and caching. Owl has never been part of as flash mob before and had a ball (two of them)!

04-May-13
All three members of the Tardis Trio attended this great event. Mini Tardis had lots of hun using his light saber and attacking anyone who came close. Having never seen Star Wars he got the idea pretty quick.

Mr & Mrs Tardis had fun too dodging and attaching both Jedis and Siths. Mr Tardis was repeatedly stabbed and shot by two princesses. The story of my life!

It was also great to meet Han Solo in person (or is that Hahn Solo?).

Thanks for the great event Freddo Skywalker.

04-May-13
P dropped in for some Star Wars fun and only equipped with a tiny 15 yr old Rebel Blaster, was quietly picking off the Light Sabre wielding Sith but no one noticed Razz. F made it in time for us to yell "May the Forth Be With You!" at comic characters on a scavenger hunt Smile Retired to the Cantina and enjoyed at chat with Firesafe on his recent USA adventures.
Thanks Freddo Skywalker Cheers 'scargoes

04-May-13
Lucky I donned my helmet, or it would have been the death of me many times over. We successfully aquired the Death Star, and after some frantic signing of the Treaty, we moved on to replenish our energy pods, and then proceeded to conquer other nearby cache systems. Seriously though, great fun, bring on the next one. Thank you Hahn.

04-May-13
Had a great time battling with my newly acquired light sabre.
It was great to catch up with so many familiar faces - and great to help some others out with their May the fourth challenge. Thanks for the event Freddo.

04-May-13
My 1st ever Event cache!!! TFTC!!! I enjoyed myself! Awesome gathering! Smile

04-May-13
Well we came, we flashed, we went - May the Fourth be with you Big Grin

What a turn out and didnt the kids (little ones too) get into it.

It was almost the battle of the flashmobs with the Star Wars and Comicon flashers at the same spot at the same time. TFTE Freddo. Big Grin

03-May-13
The program is as follows:
1) Fancy dress is optional, for any star wars character, however we would really like you to bring a Light Sabre with you. (NB: The amphibian family has 8 light sabres so we have a lot of spares) If you don’t have a ridgey didge light sabre any substitute such as a broom stick, foam rod or baguette will do, just make sure it doesn’t have sharp of pointy bits, as we don’t want anyone going home missing fingers or eyes!
2) Get there before noon and act like a muggle before the event starts. Please try to avoid congregating in big groups, just hang around at a distance, but somewhere that you can see the double Death stars. Keep your Light Sabres hidden!!
3) At the stroke of 12.00 on the GW Cox clock immediately adjacent to the Death stars approach GZ. Let the battle commence for those that have light sabers!
4) At 12.05 a whistle will blast and we stop the battle. Make your way to the log book, quickly sign it. First 20 cachers will get a chocolate treat.
5) At 12.10 a group photo will be taken.
6) At 12:15 we will leave without a trace, leaving muggles wondering what on earth just happened!
If you want to stay for lunch we will adjourn to the nearby City Cross food hall for a snack and debrief. Mos Eisley’s Cantina is not at this establishment but there might be a pretty good facsimile.

Who is excited. The force is strong in this one.

03-May-13
Image showing relationship of GW Cox clock and Double Death Star attached.

03-May-13

For those who need a lightsaber, Kmart is selling lightsticks (disguised as mega bubble makers) for $1. Youngling Raven is devastated that she is scheduled to play in the Mos Eisley band at 12 noon, but if you listen carefully, she has promised to play something appropriate from afar.

03-May-13
Will be coming. Excited as this is my first event!! Smile

03-May-13
Mrs. Flipper has hired a light sabre... maybe... maybe not, but she's coming.
cheers

Would love to have attended but I have to work. (new job)
I would even have come dressed as senator Amidala ep3 as she arrives to talk to Anikan on the lava planet. I made the costume for the premier, I was even suitably preggers for it too.

Uploading the comic panel referred to by C4. "Use to fork, Luke" Something we often say at Amphibian Central.

30-Mar-13
Hmmm, will Freddo upload today's Insanity Streak from the 'Tiser[?]

27-Mar-13
Owl must attend. Resistence is futile. Oops, wrong reference.

24-Mar-13
Coordinates changed from:
S 34° 55.368 E 138° 36.210

Coordinates changed to:
S 34° 55.380 E 138° 36.180

Distance from original: 166.4 feet or 50.7 meters.

Slight adjustment to the location of this flash mob event. Upon reflection I have decided that is a better idea that the event takes place at the double Death Star. You are invited to join the battle to defend/destroy the double Death Star as Jedi/Sith/Hutt/Fett. Note the new location is in range of the $2 Freddo web cam. The entire event could be recorded in low def vid for future reference.

24-Mar-13
Attached image shows Freddo Skywalker at the double Death Star on Saturday morning.

09-Mar-13
Sorry something has come up, we wont be able to attend, but please have fun, cant wait to see the photos

04-Mar-13
Would like to attend but I'll be at Lawn Hill National Park canoeing down the gorge.

25-Feb-13
Peed ourselves laughing at this, never been to anything like it and cant wait.

23-Feb-13
Sounds like fun.. count us in.!

11-Feb-13
I made you some toast

08-Feb-13
Yep. Knew that Jedi robe that Mr Wibble has would serve a purpose one day.
Also, if anyone needs to rustle up a light saber for little effort and cost, this might be an option:
