Parked up the road a bit and walked back down with Muggle Mum (who is obsessed with rusty corrugated iron and wanted to photograph the nearby building from every. single. angle.) Saw the cache out in the open, about 3 metres into the paddock. Not sure if the electric fence is on, didn't want to test it, so i climbed into the drain, commando crawled under the fence and retrieved the cache, signed the log and replaced the cache in its little nook.

I have a love/hate relationship with Google Maps. It often gives me ridiculous options, and recent tried to make me miss the Tasmania Ferry. But sometimes it suggests a route that i wouldn’t have thought of and it ends well. This happened today.
For me, the Sixth Creek valley (? does it even have a name) is the hidden mysterious part of the Adelaide Hills. There are no major roads going through it, it’s not on the way to anywhere and you can’t drive the length of it. Hence these caches, pretty close to home for me me, have waited over three years to be found.
After Let’s Go Nuts, I kept walking up the road to get this one. I’ve just missed it’s tenth birthday. I see that Freddo was using a stamp back then, and FeatherWaite’s handwriting hasn’t changed a bit.
An interesting story with this cache, thanks for the history and the hide Megatrick. A FP for these two caches on this scenic road.

With uni finishing early today, and some pleasant weather to be enjoyed, I decided to do a bit of caching before heading home to study. After parking as safely as I could, I made my way to gz to begin my search. It did not take me long before the cache was found and I was signing the log. With the cache replaced I was on my way.

A quick find here, cache is all good
Today I set out from the morning from uni after doing some testing and with nothing to really do all day I decided to spend it caching. With an event in black hill in the evening I focused my search early on around the unley area before going up into the hills and enjoying the back roads before walking up black hill and collecting a few more caches.
All up 43 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Wow... an interesting story in the Geocache Description. How fire can actually save one from fire [:o]
The cache wasn't a quick find and when it was found some 3 or so minutes later i said: "Sneaky as bro!.... i like that one".
SL at 11:50 on Thursday the 20th of August 2020.
(All the blossom in the hills trees at the moment is a pretty sight. Only 11 days till Spring [My Favourite Season [^])

Thanks for the cache megatrick. Was able to leave all the snails alone and signed the book.
The Adder was honoured to be invited out by two lovely ladies. A Rat and an Owl to grab a few hides in and around the Mount Barker area.
The Owl designated the Adder to be the navigator however she was not one to follow the directions given and had her own idea of how to get to the various Ground Zero's, quite often taking the wrong turn or the long way around.

This evening after work, I was keen on completing the remaining *Something for Everyone* (SFE) challenge series, and so along the way, I visited a few other geocaches in the vicinity. I managed to see a few kangaroos about trying to feed as it approached dusk. It was a nice evening actually after it had been a warm day, so I enjoyed the solo geocaching spout, and helping to clear this area off my geocaching map.
With not a lot of places for this cache to be, I checked the obvious location, and sure enough, a cache container was looking back at me. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Megatrick for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

found on route to the Welcome TDU Cachers 2019 event. Decided to take the long or scenic way to the event, stopping at the caches along the way. quick find.
Took longer than expected as we were gun shy - had to get at the right angle TFTC
Out for the day with Rod81w getting some of the SFE Challenge caches. [^] After completing those we just meandered through the hills stopping to get the caches as we drove past.
It was great driving around the back roads, very pretty.
Thanks for the cache Megatrick.

Nice spot and interesting story.
I was but a wee-lad when those fires roared through but remember it well. My family had the good fortune to have moved out of harms way no less than a week before that fateful day and thus we were saved but my heart goes out to those that were not so fortunate as either us or those that were in this valley.

Today our geocaching mission was to finish SFE series we had started previously. Your cache was found along the way while in the area.
Thanks for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

A quick find once at the correct level. Nice hidey hole. No fire fighting required today - everything a bit damp and green as grass .
Thanks to Megatrick and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
Out & about with my friend & our dogs...we came to Basket Range to take a look around & grab a few caches...it was a gorgeous day for a Sunday drive...
I was hoping there was somewhere nice & close to park...yes there was...I walked past GZ & checked out the big oak tree...back to GZ...my friend located the cache...she used to live just up the road with her parents...a beautiful area...

Out with Mattycat and Sebastbat and along with a newbie, after a walk on the trails of Cleland a few easier caches were the way to finish of the day including a few of the basket range caches, found after a short search in fading light TFTC Megatrick

Another cache that had us scratching our heads for a while. Mrs J was on the right path, but I was sure it'd be elsewhere. Eventually I took a different look at it and found the cache in it's neat little hidey-hole. Nice one!
Thanks Megatrick.

Found out with Geo Grandkids on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Great views . Took TB Left TB TFTC SL
Another nice spot around these parts. Love the tin hut beyond the gate. A quick and easy find as there weren't too many spots it could have been. Took Scissors, left Horse Figure. Cheers.
Today we headed out with earthlight to go find some caches and get out of the house for a while, interesting story. TFTC
One of a few found while up in the hills on a rather dismal day, weather-wise, after a FTF hunt.

Found with geo daughter over from Melbourne for the Pageant, Geo son and geo grandson who were very excited to retrieve their first trackable from this cache. They are off to Canada and America in two weeks for Christmas and January and will take it with them. TFTC Signed Log and put in a pack of playing cards.
Very excited for Jason. Nicol And His geokid to get their first trackable. Also found with geohubby and BearyOrganised. Lovely view, loved growing up around here and now showing geohubby the beautiful area. Sl, tnln. Tftc
Out on a long-planned caching day with Earthlight. Some great views were had and it was a lovely day to be in the area, despite (because of?) some earlier rain. Owl was taken by the views, but Earthlight was ready for more caching, so jumped right in and located the cache for her.
We (Ma and Pa) spent the weekend staying in B&B nearby celebrating our anniversary . Today we went for a walk around the "block" to find a few caches. At first or GPS had us on the wrong side of the road but once we read the clue we knew where to find it.
Thanks Megatrick

Well look at that 60 years on and Basket Range was once again spared devastation by bushfire. Over the past few days a large bushfire tore threw the hills to the north of Basket Range and only a few hundred meters from this cache. Unfortunately not all houses in Basket Range survived, a house and a few sheds up Blockers Rd to the north were destroyed. The houses along this road, Burdetts Rd, where the cache hides, which include my family home, were under ember attack and threatened along with many others in Cherryville and Marble Hill. Big thanks to all that helped stop this fire for their efforts!
Out for a drive as its a beautiful day. Decided to hit the hills for a spot of caching.
Some Juvenile Delinquent knows about this cache and likes to draw life size pictures of his manhood... opps I mean boyhood!!

Am glad that Basket Range was saved, I remember the fires well as my older brother, 17, at the time was in the Army and fought the fires. He came home one day with a glazed look on his face, he and an army mate had found 2 bodies in a burnt out house. We both grew up a lot that day.
Today we are hills dwellers who prepare and watch carefully. Today it is a bad day and we keep an eye out for any smoke.

After attending a farewell to Mogni in Hahndorf a flash mob of 8 caching teams in 3 cars headed of for some caching. As LL rightly says..he looked but couldn't find, until locus pointed to a spot and mentioned something about boy looks. Meanwhile the bugs had zeroed in on the torchlights and we quickly signed the log and moved on. Thanks Magatrick.
Having left work at 5.15pm, I was worried that I might not make it to the Special GOTHS Farewell Dinner by 6pm and I really wanted to farewell the effervescent Mogni who had, as for so many others, provided me with her bubbly company on several caching runs,
I actually arrived about 6.04pm. Therefore, I attended the Special GOTHS Farewell Dinner event and it was my 1,538th cache on day 335 of continuous caching
After the event, being escorted around by the knowledgeable firesafe, Laighside Legends, earthlight and I with muff1, Aussie M&M, Brisal5 and the starring guest Mogni managed to get a few smileys in our initially three and then later two car caching convoy.
At the end of the night (which was actually the next morning), I had locus cache'd successfully on 21 caches and 1 event for the second (ok, well two caches blended into the third) day of the year!
This was another cache where the hint was spot on!
Someone had already checked that area when the hint suggested it might be worth rechecking.... and it was
Talk about stoking the fire with the excitement of a find

A nice hide - out of sight, but not too tricky. I remember seeing the smoke from Ash Wednesday when I was in Adelaide. Now we live in the hills we have done much work to prepare our property as much as possible.
