Thanks for taking us on this nice walk on a lovely morning. A bit hard to locate but geohubby persisted.
Nice easy find when cache is sitting out in plain sight Nice walk to GZ Re hid away from muggle view
Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! We are currently on the first section of our journey, which started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island. We are currently on route to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier (where we are at present), Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. From Melbourne we head to Tasmania for a few days, then back to Melbourne before setting off to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. After a visit to Sydney we will travel on to the Gold Coast, then after spending a few days in the nearby mountainous birding hotspots, followed by an overnight trip to Fraser Island, we will fly from Brisbane to Cairns, visiting yet more good birding sites. We will then drive up to Cape Tribulation before heading back south again to Port Douglas and a day out on the Great Barrier Reef. We then return to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs, where we will hire a 4x4 camper and set off for a week on the circuit to and from Kings Canyon and Ayers Rock. We then fly to Darwin from where we will spend the last two weeks of our holiday making our way to Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
We walked on to this bird hide after having watched a Musk Duck displaying on the water - flicking water over his back and splaying his tail erect. Thanks so much for the cache.

Found at 5.00pm. Too windy for birds to be hanging around today. Great spot though. TNLN Thanks K&M
GeoHubby had a heart attack when he picked up the cache and saw the trackable critter inside!
Gorgeous spot and lots of birds today!
Happy Valentine's Day

Did this one today from the water. Far easier to paddle across from the boat landing at Nelson than to walk. There are an astounding number of birds down here at the moment...

The last for this little erea. I cannot believe that we become geographically challenged on a loop walk with not 1 but 2 GPSs - 1 in the phone, 1 hand held!!!!!!!! [:(!]
When we finally sorted ourselves out an easy series of caches.
The only "animals" we came across was mossies that we could saddle! As we headed back to the car I
had the fright of my life with a great big thump behind me. After jumping a few feet saw a happy little wallaby with a great big wallaby grin
Thanks for the experience

On the eve of our first 12 months as geocaches this is our 700th cache. This was an awesome way to achieve it, a paddle on the SUP while holidaying with family (Coongie) in this beautiful town. Thanks igc3 for bringing us to this wonderful place.
# 6862. The first full day caching in the area with Robmc and The Morris and we head towards Nelson intending to boat up the Glenelg River to Princess Margaret Rose caves and return.
Another familiar hide seen already today. Took the time to peek through the little windows to the water and watch the birds. Just one more and then it is time to head to the river.
Thanks jgc3

Off on a short three hour cruise with The Morris and BettyBoo3747. Drove down to Nelson and went for a short walk around Livingston Island, then a cruise up the Glenelg River into SA, then back to Vic, did a quick earth cache, then back to SA, then back to Vic - boy, do we get around or what? [:-}
The Morris looked for the hide, while we looked for the ducks - both of us were successful.
A nice hide to look out over the lake.
Thanks, Robmc.

We were making good time on this circuit, thanks to good co-orcs and fast approaching dark clouds. Again, everything all good st this location. TN, LN, SL. T4TC. Happy Easter!
Visiting Mogni so it was a quick drive around for 9 early morning caches before breakfast. Now it was time to drop a car off at Casterton, so of course just had to stop and get 4 more caches on the way. After lunch at Casterton it was time to do some Vic caches. Another dozen caches found us in the Nelson Pub for dinner. Time to walk off that snitty.
Another quick find. It was starting to get dark so there were plenty of birds. Thanks jgc3

Baby frog started to grizzle. We did see an echidna and hear a wallaby/kangaroo : ) lots of ducks quacking. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot.
Nice little resting spot with beautiful views and a couple of kangaroos along the way TNLNSL thanks
Found no worries as we spied a competion fly fishing boat just off the shore. TFTC JGC3
This one caused some confusion... "its over there, 190m away" pointing straight into some scrub. "its getting further away!" "Well, why are you still walking???" "Oh, here's a track" and then there was the bird hide. Thanks for the cache, however no birds to be seen.
Spent a bit of time here looking at the birds - quickly spotted 5 species in the short time it took to sign the log. Pelican, shag, duck, swan, gull. Thanks for the hide.
Out with Aussie M & M grabbing some more of the caches put out for the BLE. I was lucky enought to attend but sadly did not have enough time or energy to get many of the caches that weekend.
A big day out, with much success.
Thanks

Heading to Warrnambool via Portland today after the thoroughly enjoyable Big Little Event... Decided to grab some 'smilies' on the way out of Nelson...
Made a nice straight forward find... Enjoyed the walk & chatting to other cachers who had the same idea...
Took: Nothing Left: Nothing Signed Log

Monday at BLE and after packing up, Dennisc52 and I left the campsite and parked his car. Well, mine was already dusty and dirty and his was still clean
Dennisc52 and I managed to achieve locus cache 25 times before we parted company and took separate routes back to Adelaide.
However I hung around Nelson for a bit longer and so, by the time that I stopped at Millicent for the night, I had gathered up another 19 locus cache smileys (with 1 DNF ), making this a 45 cache day [^]
Anyway Dennisc52 and I had a nice time here wandering around and finding caches while enjoying the lovely views and wildlife

Of course I looked on the wrong side first as normal, but no matter, I could see through to the desired box! Getting a bit chilly now as I hadn't come prepared to do the whole walk and thought I would be back at the car before the evening chill set in. Cache #1,478.
A great cache spot - I thought I was going the wrong way until finding the back track into it. Lots of bird life out today - I didn't dally here, but once I got back to the beach I walked out to the mouth and saw terns, dotterels, oystercatchers, plovers and pacific gulls. And ducks of course. Thanks for the cache.
Well our big adventure is up and running with lolfrog, pedal pushers jeffeddy on wards we go
Really enjoying the different cache hides and the interesting locations we are visiting as I travel with J+J.au caching the area. SL..TFTC

Found at 4:47 PM GAFF1 in the company of ruralslicker. It was also a quick find. The tide was coming in and there were quite a few birds roosting on the semi exposed rocks and stumps of trees.
Thanks jgc3,

Back in Nelson, while waiting for some fellow cachers to return from the Mount, decided to duck out before dinner and go for this walk. A great spot, with plenty of wildlife to see, and views back to Nelson to enjoy.

#3484 As we were arriving at this cache, another cacher, LionJRB was just leaving.....the GPS gave it away . We enjoyed playing with the hide (not the cache) but not much bird life to be seen - perhaps the giggling were keeping them away. A very enjoyable walk into this area - thank you for bringing us here jgc3.

Headed out from Simpson Landing at 1500 hrs to find this one.
Stopped at Bag Island along the way.
Just down from the kiosk I passed a big fur seal.
Round the bend and into some choppy water.
Very soft mud were I got out the canoe which was soon going to come in handy.
Made my round to the bird hide by 1620 hrs
What is it with the caches in Nelson has no one in Victoria heard of IKIA.
It seems I had left my biro on an island and there was nothing in the cache.
Luckily I have mud.
Made a pirate mark and headed out for the other nearby cache before paddling back home.
