Catching up with late logs
We were staying in Portland with SuperPop for our family Xmas festivities and we decided to head to Nelson to enjoy a meal at the pub and grab a few caches as well.
We had time for one more cache before heading back to Portland to catch up with the rest of the family. We had a little trouble finding the correct way in but find it we did and ended up parking not too far form gz at all.
The cache did take a little while to find but we did enjoy the view while we were looking for it.
After our name was added to the log we returned the cache as found.
Thanks once more for the cache jgc3 for the cache.

Found with Liz and Bruce on a good day for caching. Like others we had to find the way in first. The SatNav didn't help a lot.
We ventured to Nelson this morning with Alansee to do some of the caches which we knew we would enjoy in this scenic location and we were not disappointed. We encountered emus and kangaroos on the forest tracks but luckily not too close up We found a variety of hides and thanks to jgc3 for placement of this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
found it while headed to the 8 Months to the event in Alexandra - Portland after crossing the border. Nice views.
Out for a night of caching with Beaker and spanner111.

Awesome cache. Taking us where we have never been before. Need maintenance with blue tag. Found in paddock and have put back on fence. Don't know how long it will stay though
We had an overnight stop at Nelson so headed out to find as many of the BLE as possible. This gave us a small tiki our of the town.
Took us a while to find the correct road to get to this cache.

One Family - 10 days - 2600 kms - Oz Mega 2014
Bound to Oz Mega 2014 in Murray Bridge over the Easter weekend, we left the Saturday before and camped along the way going along the Great Ocean Rd. We stayed at Apollo Bay, Port Fairy and Mount Gambier before getting to Murray Bridge. We managed to pack a fair bit of local tourist attractions in getting a number of caches along the way before getting amongst them in Murray Bridge.
Saturday we left home and headed down to Torquay, checking out some local sights, before tackling the Great Ocean Rd in earnest. Some of the highlights on the way down to Apollo Bay included visiting Bells Beach and Erskine Falls.
Sunday we packed the tent up and grabbed a few local caches then headed to visit the Cape Otway Lighthouse and Otway Fly before heading through to Port Fairy.
Monday bought us some magnificent weather as we made our way to Peterborough, discovering all the natural wonders along the Great Ocean Rd until the 12 Apostles where we headed up to sample some local cheese and chocolate, yummo!! That night we ventured to Tower Hill for some night caching.
Tuesday we made our way to Mount Gambier visiting Portland and Cape Nelson, hastily making our camp before watching the lunar eclipse over Blue Lake.
A lazy day afterwards ensured our batteries were recharged as we packed up early Thursday morning and drove straight to Murray Bridge, setting up camp under the watchful eye of Gonefishen07 where we tackled Fruit Loop and a number of night caches.
Good Friday we headed up to Borrika to grab some of the unfound Wandering Heroes caches and visiting our own to show Campbell. The evening meal was nothing short of spectacular with a roast enjoyed by all as we relaxed around camp (some calling us heathens for eating Lamb).
Saturday saw Trent, Gonefishen07 and Lazzal head to Loxton to finish the rest of the Wandering Heroes, whist Katy, Campbell and Zobo04 went shopping in town, coming home and making Loom bracelets for all and sundry for a price!!! The highlight of the night being the fireworks show provided by Team Crackers!
Sunday saw us head in to Adelaide with a bunch of other cachers to grab a virtual and webcam cache. Heading back to Murray Bridge, we attended the flashmob and CITO, grabbed a few more caches enabling us to complete 12 different caches in a day!!!
Monday we bade farewell to Murray Bridge and the Oz Mega and ventured home saying our farewell's to the new caching teams we met over the four days.
Stopping in Nelson for quick cache before entering SA. We made our way along the track to GZ, after a bit of a search Trent came up with the goods.
Thanks for the cache jgc3!!!

Found by Mary & David at 1120. Wonderful views right across, and we were lucky enough to see five kangaroos bound along the shoreline. Plenty of jet black cattle came to check up on us, so David is thinking of steak for dinner tonight. Our thanks to jgc3.
Top views. There were roos. There were bunnies. There were cows, that still had their horns attached. Last time I saw that, was in Darwin. Tftc, tnln.14/02/2014 6:58 pm Find #598
Cache found on the Joy of SECS tour with four-fun, Freddo, thewhitedoggang and Team Waldron. There were a stack of boxes to find so we pushed on. We even had a quick round of Mountopoly and a couple of Powertrails to add to the fun. The weather was cool and sometimes icy so wet boots were the order of the day.
Thanks to jgc3 and clear skies from TeamAstro.
A 3 day caching expedition with Freddo, Astro, WhiteDogGang an Four Fun.
Apologies for the generic log but we did a few trails and some of the Mountopoly series. We also did most of the BLE series.
The mozzies were full on at times and it rained most of the first day.

We've been in Nelson for the Big Little Event over the weekend. Heading home today via Ballarat.
The Wenches were still in bed when I ducked out to find the last three caches in town. No trouble finding any of them but may have woken the neighbours as I drove slowly past at sparrow-fart.
Thank you jgc3.

I'm glad the horned beasts were the other side of the fence. I made this one harder thuan I needed to! Cache #1,466.
Found with yet another slithery friend in the area. Perhaps we need to make more noise when approaching! Not advisable in summer to send the geokids in for this one even if it is an easy find. TFTC
Found with Cabbos while attending the BLE event.
Thanks for the cache and your efforts with putting on the event and placing so many new caches.

The highland cattle came wandering over to see what was happening so we were glad for the sturdy fencing between us and them. TFTC.
Found this neat cache during BIG little EVENT. Our thanks go out to all involved in the event and to all who have placed caches for the event.
Our apologize for the late logs, and the boilplate plate logs.
Due to events happening in our lives just after the event, the logging had to be put on hold until now.
We had a fantastic time, met some new caches and even bumped into a few old ones from afar.
Many, many thanks to all involved.

Saturday at BLE and Dennisc52 and I set off to have a boat ride , then start our day's caching [^]
We got a tad sidetracked by hunting for a gas fitting for a stove and so ended up in Mt Gambier, where we eventually managed to get a few caches [^]
Back to Nelson for tea, then we headed out with firesafe, Honeysucker and Huurtle for some night caching [^] before the first two headed to their respective sleeping spot and we other three headed back to Nelson [|)]
I attempted to locus cache at 23 caches and only had 1 DNF so that meant 22 smiley faces
Having spent some time on dairy farms when I was younger and still enjoying the warm smell of a cow, I was the last to leave The View as that cow just needed some patting

#3513 We continued down the dirt track to this cache and once again found ourselves appreciating our 4WD - we also have a VW Golf which would have been too low for this track. Certainly a nice view of the river estuary and could see where we were yesterday. Found some hay bales and then the located the well concealed cache which is in very good condition. Thanks for bringing us to these views jgc3.
Took: Nothing
Left: Skullracing Carpe Diem pathtag (yes we were seizing the day!)

Found with Pprass, Squalid and RuralSlicker. B L E - “Boxes Left Everywhere” We couldn’t search for them in numerical order, but that’s OK . The diversity of scenery, some quirky hides and catching up with fellow cachers along the trail made it a most enjoyable series. The time and effort given to create this series for other cachers to enjoy is to be commended. There were quite a number of boats in view today.
