Cute little church, but no cache unfortunately. It's been awhile since it's been found so CO needs to check
Had a good hunt around but couldn't find it. Hasn't been found in a while. Is it still there ?
Needed aquick one to log my time back in NZ. Was shopping nearby so this was perfect. TFTC
I made a few false turns before I realized where I needed to be. It was noisier than I expected with a gathering going on in one of the buildings. I looked away as I passed so they wouldn't invite me in. TFTC.
We ended up driving around in circles here. We could spot the church but the obvious road to it had a bar across it. Finally found the road to it. We let the kids hunt first but they couldn't see it. "Let the experts at it", we said. We widened the search area but came back to find it at the original spot. So much for us being experts!! Oh well, another bit of fun had on our way home, TFTC
Visiting New Zealand for the mega and I headed up this way to visit friends up north. I decided to stop off at the shop to buy some biscuits and why not find a few caches while I was here? I had two false starts getting onto the property, but once I did, it was a short walk to the cache. Cheers for the cache!
Quite an old cemetery here. It would have been in the country alright. It certainly predates every building in this area. Access not the easiest but I managed to jump the fence to get a straight-line approach.
This was my 2nd attempt at this one, unsure how I missed it last time, must have been having a real male look!
Todays caching day was supposed to be all about 4WD along Muriwai Beach and grabbing those letterbox hybrid caches along the beach. The weather was favourable, tide timew was good as well and the geomobile full of fuel. Only problem, no company. My intended travellers pulled out one by one leaving me alone and, sniff, sad.
Nothing for it but to call off that mission and come over to Silverdale to grab a few easy caches to push the numbers along. There are absolutely loads here and in a new area that's always a winner. It also means I can park in one place, walk a loop grabbing 4 or 5 or 6 the go and move the car again to tyhe centre of the next cluster. Managed over 30 today which although not massive numbers was a nice gentle trip and back here at a decent time with time to log them and do all the humdrum extras before work again tomorrow.
Moved the car up to nearby and walked another loop of 6 caches.
The church lady inside was preparing for more customers so I was discrete whilst avoiiding the view of the meat warehouse people on smoko

Quick easy find. No longer a Church in the countryside but peaceful none the less. TFTC
Had a power cut early this afternoon and as I can't do my job without power and the rest of the family was going out for driving lesson and shopping I decided to join them and do a spot of caching. Had I stayed at home waiting for the power to come back on I would have been mighty annoyed at wasting this opportunity to go caching as the power didn't come back on until well into the evening. Nice opportunity for some exercise walking around some of Silverdale. This was a fast find. Thanks adding to the unexpected outing TheWonderStuff. On to the next one...
I'm on a roll now. Quick find. TFTC.

Found with kiwitrecker1 and the kids - almost muggled by the caretaker when their dog came to meet ours - fortunately the little barks gave us plenty of warning! TFTC
We're on a roll today, 8 and counting. Unreal how much this area has changed. TFTC.
A nice and easy find here in the most obvious spot. Found during our extensive tour of Silverdale this afternoon. TFTC!
After completing the Route 66 trail it was time to head back to civilization for some well earned refreshments. Got to Silverdale and decided this would do. Found a few of the caches in the area while I was here too. Certainly nothing like the Silverdale of my youth. Had to be fairly stealthy with some of the kids from the school across the way round and about. TFTC, Biggles.
[green] At long last, after two weeks of Auckland Mega and the GeoTours North and South, I can get my bike out and go for a ride. Over 30 caches by bike today!
And got to this incongruous church. I even went around and sighted the board to confirm that it is , indeed an old church. What the heck is a typical rural back country church doing in the middle of suburbia? Of course, we already know. The question is really what is the surburbia doing here? One of the vestry members turned up, so I introduced myself, geocaching and the cache to him and his wife, and explained what caching is all about (bringing people to interesting places, like this church). He loved the idea and invited me to to take a look inside, he has the key. Hey! This church is locked! Country churches are normally unlocked. Anyway, had a tour of the place. And he explained the suburbia - it is all less than a year old - shops, houses, the lot. And that the church had been moved from over the road, the land needed for the roundabout. The graveyard is original, though. No wonder this place looks so... odd? And it also explains the series, rather more so than the series itself does!
Plus favourite. Long may this church remain here!

Out with Zorgon, Nova, and HPG cleaning up as many caches as we could today
The Sunday service was just getting underway when we arrived which was good as it meant the muggles were occuoied INSIDE the church. Such an old church looks out of place now that it has been engullfed by the city.
Thanks
Thanks
Parked and approached from the wrong direction however as it was a quick find this really didn't matter. Thanks!
Second attempt, first attempt on a rainy day, cannot understand why I did not see it, also forgotten a pen, have to come back and sign it next week.TFTC
Always wanted to "visit" here as my Great Grandparents are here somewhere. But was way too wet today to search.
What a lovely little church. The whole area has simply grown up all around it. Quickly found the cache and moved onto the next.
I remember being here once before and there were hardly any buildings nearby - definitely a changing place at the moment. Nice quick find in a nice quiet spot - TFTC
Wonderful wee church. So peaceful to wonder about early this morning while heading home . Nice wee find thanks .
Having found the cache up the road just before midnight, by the time we got back in caching wagon and rolled down here, it was past midnight. That's another days cache done.
There were a couple with me who were so keen on coming right to GZ in the dark, so we left them at top of drive. TFTC

People were cleaning headstones in the graveyard, but we were able to make a discrete find. Had a brief chat with the volunteers - nice to see an old graveyard being so well maintained. TFTC.
Too many muggles on our way to Mahurangi so came back in the late afternoon. A lovely church and graveyard, shame it's beeing surrounded by developments both residential and business. No longer in the countryside. TFTC
Seems dwarfed by the surrounding developments and almost all gobbled up in the fight towards progress, but is it

As I recall I think this is our 3rd visit to this wee church looking for a cache, each time the surrounds have changed drastically!!
Quick find in the early morning.

Saw that a few new caches appeared in silverdale so thought I'd try and grab a few. Had to be quiet to avoid disrupting service.. TFTC

Well this was a special one for me, I left the girls to find this one, as I visited my best mate who now resides here. Happy New Year B.
Another cache for the day on "KiwifruitsNZ Day of Milestones".
Easy find and quickly moved on to the next one.

I'm sure I have been here before - but then I'm old and maybe it was a former geocaching life. t4tc
Headed up to Silverdale for our daily find. The area looks completely different to the last time we found a cache by this church. Reasonable quick find. TFTC.
Seem to remember another cache here some time ago and I'm sure the church has been moved at least three times. Nice quick find though and another Silverdale cache down. Thanks
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
After dropping off one member of Phasevisitor to the Rangitoto ferry I returned to Silverdale to pick up the 3 new STC caches. It was fairly early in the morning, so no one around. A quick find, TFTC!

I was out this morning to pick up 18 of the new Silverdale caches that I haven't done as yet. For the fifth one I had to come a little early to miss the service.
Cheers for the cache.

Yeeeahh FTF number 4 for today . The hint was useful for this one, the most difficult part was to find a way to get close enough to GZ... TFTC
Out on a FTF hunt with Friwinz today. Came in from the wrong approach but soon located our 4th FTF for the day TFTC
