Found with kiwitrecker1 on a fine winters day. New log signed, cache in good order. Now to take in the view for a few minutes before moving on! TFTC
in the area upgrading logs to the latest version "stay dry " idea... boy things have changed at GZ since last time.. even i was looking in the wrong place to start with.... look for a kowhai tree at the inland side of the track...- where there is vegetation on both sides of the track again...
Out with the wife today completing stage 3 of the Hillary Trail. Another great day of hiking throughout the Waitakere's! This stage has probably been my favourite so far - however a few more still to go!
I saw the name of this cache and thought....it must be named after me! haha. I quickly ducked off the path to make a quick find whilst the wife enjoyed a rest and the amazing views!

Pretty sure I found "Skinny white guy" (quite a cutey if that was him) but was unable to find the cache. Had to stop looking after a few minutes as time was getting on. It may be that this inexperienced cacher was looking in the wrong place.
Was very intrigued to see what this cache would be named after. Approaching the nearby seat my battery warning came on so carried on to collect this one then returned to the seat to soak up the spectacular views. Met up with some intrepid hikers doing the Hillary Trail.
After claiming an FTF on the cache nearby it was decided just one more was needed to round the year out, plus it was only a few hundred meters along the now flattish trail.... again the views here are stunning being able to see down to what we guessed was Raglan some 100km away as an estimation...

Mr HeMaLuDy, Mr Stik-a-crane, and Mr & Mrs NZTravellers headed up this way in search of a possible FTF, and then continued on to do just one more - and maybe another. (At some stage Mrs NZT decided to leave the men to their FTF search and returned to the car). They stopped off and found a few other caches along the way, including this one. A good bush walk to gather the caches today. Signed as SEAC (South and East Auckland Caching Crew - an abbreviation we have adopted as we often cache together). Great views
Our New Years camp with Team SEAC was held at the Huia Lodge where we all stayed over various days.
We had arrived a day later than most due to other family commitments and therefore missed out on some FTF's the previous day.
There was another FTF on this track today which was immediately prior to this cache. we were successful at that FTF so carried on to do at least ONE more
Signed Team SEAC.

Maybe we could just do ONE more its only 170 odd meters away wont take us THAT long to do!

After heading up this track from Whatipu to gather a ftf, I came back here to collect the caches I passed by. Perfect weather today, very overcast and a cool breeze. The skinny white guy had no chance against the caching guy! A quick find here for me today. Cheers ANZ, cache in good nic too.
Found with merlot58 and supernanny. I like to say I found the skinny white guy, but that was again merlot58, who disappeared into the bushes before me
Loved how this cache was attached, very clever. The clock is ticking, we are walking for a certain time, then having to turn back, and return the way we came. So not sure how many caches we will find, but picked a perfect day for this adventure.

This cache was soon located by merlot58.....
Love the way this is attached ! Must try this on some of mine in future !
Hi Skinny white guy !

Hi Skinny white guy !
I was out with Supernanny and RustyNZ for a nice walk to get away from this manic time of year. I found the skinny white guy after venturing into the bush a wee bit. He certainly stands out once you find him
This was one of those caches that make you think about what the GPS is telling you. Surprisingly we had to take into account the full amount of the accuracy figure. This is a great position along the track with grand views across the bay. Cache and log nice and dry. TFTC
Got to GZ and our GPS had us looking at a few obvious choices but just not the one. Widened our search to finally discover the anemic one.
A great day in the Waitaks today. The weather was great and the caching plentiful. However it took a turn for the worse in the afternoon when one of our party had a hiking accident requiring a very long wait at A&E, x-rays and stitches!
Out with Nigel Barnes 11 to do day two of the Hillary trail! He found ones I had previously found. All in good order here! Ready for a busy summer of cachers!
in the area changing logs, cache present and correct - new log in.. no need for a log bag anymore
We were continuing on our nice caching tramping walk..enjoying the view and company. I liked the name of this cache..you soon see its very much like that at gz! The onewheelfamily had found this cache already so eyes were on me to go it alone. I found the right fella eventually thanks !
got to this cache without any issues, but my GPS had me about 9 metres away. I guess it takes a skinny white guy to know one, so I soon spotted the likely spot in the distance and quickly had the cache in hand.

Geocaching makes this tramp even more awesome. Off to pararaha valley camp site.
Today Mallorcatommy and I did a huge walk... all in all 23 kilometres in a wonderful forrest... started at the whatipu campground.. This cache was the third... We found this one quickly.. Thank you! what an amazing view!
Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
Cats&Dragons thought it would be a good idea to collect the earthcaches in the area... I thought I was good to add this hill into the climb. One of us was wrong as this turned into a very long day in the hot sun.
The caches themselves were great with amazing views of the coast and mountain but the physical effort took its toll on this body.
Cache was quickly found and in good condition.

Well this was a Bl##dy early mission as we were trying to keep out of the heat of the day but had a 2hr drive before we even started.
Out and about with Novalightning for a days caching along a coast that neither of us had explored before. I had suggested that we stick to the coast and make our way north, he suggested that we take Gibbons Track north as how had can it be, Year Right. And he was for the first 6 or 7 caches.
This was the fourth of the day for us and after a walk up from the Whatipu car park this was a great spot. It took further inspection for us to locate the cache.
thanks for the placement

Gotta chose the right side of the track here folks. Scrub cutters been through so view is lookin good. T4TC
I went out on a post cyclone hike today, together with alligatorsnz, doing a loop circuit from Whatipu to Donald Mclean via Walker Ridge and returning again via Omanawanui Track – a great hike in the wind and occasional rain! After looking around all the wrong skinny white guys, the cache was eventually found! TFTC!
I was busy checking all the white guys closer to the track, while Mrs Sp8 decided on the right one and went straight to it.

GPSr took me to another skinny white guy. Widened the search and found a much more promising specimen.
Views are great from here, as is the sheer drop.
Thanks for the cache.

Found it on a lovely walk after first looking at the wrong skinny white guy.....
Sensational view near here. And alot of trail runners today, so inspiring to see them smacking it hard over the top of this walk, ,knowing they've all got downhills (and cold drinks) ahead of them. We've got freeze dried spag bol ahead of us tonight though! TFTC.
Checked with council and (as also on website is stated) Dogs are allowed on the gibbons and muir track!!! Altough you need to pass a "no dogs" sign. Dogs are allowed on the track..confirmed by the council and other locals.
So we enjoyed a great walk and followed a trail of caches on the Gibbons track.
pff that was more of a challenge, going up and up. Cache was an easy find with the title, but a nice trip to get there. Would more a swap of ratings hahaha
Thanks for putting these caches out on this track

It was further along the Hillary (2 Ls) Trail to this cache from Shaggy. Today I could have walked the track in Jandals as there was not one clump of mud anywhere to be seen. When heading south along the track one gets a bit of a surprise walking out into a clearing when nearing the cache coming across a fantastic view and the sharp dropoff. A sort of "Whoa" moment.
Cheers for the cache.
Skinny white guy--I resemble that remark! I found this one on the way back from doing a loop starting at Whatipu, then along the beach, then up to Zion's Pool cache, then back along Gibbons. I was in survival mode at this point, but still making good headway. It’s good to be on the way back down the hill to Whatipu after the next turn. This cache is in a good place to get visitors upto an amazing view. Cheers for the cache.
Just heading past on a tramp, replacing the log with a new low maintenance version...
Found with Tracit. Another breather on our trek north towards the Pararaha. TFTC
Last minute change in our plans gave us the opportunity to attend the event but as we were too late to join up with the official cache tour party we decided to complete our own private tour.
Great clue for this one and another smilie on the track for us TFTC.

Someone asked "what are we looking for?" the reply " something white and skinny". Made Kerry laugh by saying "that's me!" - well, i'll be skinnier by the end of the walk! TFTC
As fit, sinewy, fast runners sped past us we strolled along the ridge and took in the took in the view... Just brilliant. Thanks for these caches, perfect to remind us how much fitter we could become.
The name sure suits the hide! This was another group find, as part of the Whatipu event. I have learnt some about NZ flora, and it continues to surprise me with its variety. TFTC!
Cache #4 found in a group of nine led by KiwiLeon during the Waitangi at Whatipu event. White stood out like a sore thumb and the cache was located instantly. Thanks!
Did the walk as part of our Whatipu event.
Nice walk up and along the ridge.
No problem finding the cache with 9 GPSrs.

Found on our walk from Whatipu to Pararaha Valley via Gibbons and Muir Tracks with Kiwileon, Mike-miss, Little Red Hood, Jacksonz, Arachnaphobe and Slieschke. Had a great time and loved the views from the various vantage points along the clifftops. Cheers.
Fourth stop with the group as part of the Waitangi Campout walk via Gibbons/Muir/Pararaha Stream/Beach loop. Another nice quick and easy find here before continuing on our journey. TFTC!
Re dogs, Glad it works for you:-)
Like all signs placed by authority i just tend to take them at face value... just like stop signs.. ( "its ok officer all the locals said run it")

Last one of the day for us and luckily we got to enjoy the view one last time just before picking this one up. The cache name lead us to the right spot pretty quickly, and soon had the log signed and rehidden. Thanks for the chance to come back out here again, on what was one of the best days of summer so far. TFTC!
Our last find of the day as there were other non caching matters to attend to that meant we couldn't carry on up the track today, but if the weather remains like it did today then we'll definitely be back soon. As it was we got to admire one more amazing view for a while before taking a moment to find the cahe, really nice spot here - always a nice place to stop by. TFTC
Saw these caches on the Gibbons track come up the other day and was sure they would go quickly but when I checked that evening, to my surprise no one had found them yet so made the decision to make an early start in the morning and have a go at them, 3rd FTF.
