Staying with family in Swan Reach for the weekend. I ducked out early in the morning to grab a few caches in Blanchtown. Found without problems. All good here. Thank you chrispy89 & 'scargoes (maintaining), for placing ROONKA TRAVELBUG HIDEOUT. for the geocaching community.# # #15322 # #
Stamped as PUZZLDTeam consists of Ronice88, Weirdobiker, Contesta, DeJavu, Search 4, Kbucky & myself Bounty Trackers. On a 5day (maybe more) caching expedition with On Ya Bike series as the main objective then on to the Paddle steamer series we are all staying in Nildotte for 3 nights then moving up to Loxton for another 2 nights. With events at either end. And hopefully a few caches placed before 2010 will also be on our hit list. Lots of fun & laughs had along the way and lots of car doors opened & closed. Thanks for placing and maintaining the series.
We are in SA with a group of like minded people to do the On Your Bike series as team Puzzld which consists of myself, Ronice88, contesta, de ja vu, search4, kbucky and Bounty Trackers. Lots of caching fun over the next few days. We are picking up a lot of other caches along the way, this being one of them
Find # 10348Day 4 caching friends to complete our epic On Your Bike series adventure. Picking up some counties, oldies, and other specials along the route to add to my tally and to stretch the legs. This was a quick and easy find and here as PUZZLD! at ROONKA TRAVELBUG HIDEOUT. today with Ronice88, kbucky, De Ja Vu, Bounty Trackers, Search4, and weirdobiker. Thanks so much for the many caches chrispy89 and of course for giving me a reason and incentive to get out here, and to experience this part of the world in a different light
An epic and memorable trip with new friends - Ronice88, Weirdobiker, de ja vu, Bounty Trackers, Contesta and Search4 - signed as PUZZLD. Thankfully a cooler day as we explore another area here while completing the main aim of our trip - OYB Series. Thanks to chrispy89 and scargoes for your cacheRegardskbucky
Bingo How fabulous and mind boggling is the monumental scale of geoart in SA. On a multi project in the true sense of the word far from home base which is at higher altitude. The project idea to embark on the OYB series with a group of likeminded geobuddies AKA PUZZLD had its mad genesis a few months ago and of course theres plenty more along with this. Travelling with contesta, kbucky, dj vu, search4, bounty trackers and weirdo biker over a few days mixing and matching skills with good humour and camaraderie. Thanks a zillion to the COs for the variety of caches and challenges. Im imagining a recovery session after this epic exhausting marathon to say nothing of Collingwood winning the 2023 AFL Premiership GO PIES!
Another enjoyable day exploring around the Murray and grabbing great caches and geoart caches before the heat of the day.We had a great day searching and signing logbooks with our Pzzld group friends. Thanks for the cache.
Cache has been collected and held in the Roonka Camp Hosts Cottage aka "Leicester Lodge" til it's safe to return
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
After settling into the local caravan park at Swan Reach, we headed off to complete another leg of the 'On Your Bike' series and other caches we passed along our route. Thanks for the cache.

Staying in Swan Reach with iluvtrekking to grab some of the ‘bike’ series caches and other we come across along the way. Thanks for the hide.
Feeling refreshed from our o/n stay at Roomba Scout Club we set out to tackle the Riddlers Roonka Rampage series with the trads as bonuses inbetween.
Grabbed this one on our way out. Dealt with the gate and got 80 metres within the hide , walking the rest of the way to add our team name to the logbook.
Thanks chrispy89 for the placement.

After setting up camp in Blanchetown and a bite to eat for lunch, we ventured out in the company of the suscoe duo as a practice for the next few days.
We found the info here very interesting as we both have a background in Scouting.
Thanks chrispy89 for placing interesting caches on the gameboard.

NOTES:
1) Some logs have indicated it's private property, it's not and is actually on a Gazetted road down to the waters edge and the gate is just for the local farmer to control sheep movements...
2) The cache container is smaller than described by Chrispy and has been replaced by a ex-boat flare cylindrical container. So small TBs might be ok, otherwise just visit them through here instead
Cheers

Tried to access via kayak but no way we could get through the reeds. Great fun trying tho!
I was in the area for work and had to make the detour to grab this cache considering I don't know if any when I would be here again. Easy enough to find the hint is spot on. Always nice to know where to put your hand given what can bite you around here. Thanks for the cache. Greetings from New Zealand!
Travelling around Australia, after spending the best part of a week solving the Roonka puzzles today we planned to head out and find them and some nearby caches. Beautiful weather to be by the river.
Mr Felix walked down to this cache and Mrs Felix stayed in the car. We had noticed a small group of kids in the paddock nearby but as they walked back to the Scout Camp they spied the numberplate on our car. Ooh look Geocaching.com soon enough we had pulled the car apart and showed them some different cache types and helped them find their first geocache as they had been unable to find the one they were looking for. Next thing 3 of them were running off without the rest of the group to see if they could find the next one. Fingers crossed they found this one as Mr Felix had already returned by this stage.

After a bike ride on the other side of the river this afternoon I decided to clean up the last two trads I had left in the area. Both caches were quick finds and are in good condition. TFTC
The spare seat in Davidwazza’s kayak to get to the event near here today was too good an opportunity to pass up, especially as it provided an opportunity to get some of the more difficult D/T combinations added to the fizzy grid.
This was found after we finished paddling and were heading for home. A nice location and hide spot but no TB’s here. Davidwazza had a geocoin to drop, but it didn’t fit in the container so was unable to be left.
TNLNSL.
Found with Davidwazza.

A big day out kayaking around Blanchetown with the paddling crew, and later from Roonka with GeckoJ. Although kayaking geocaches are normally high D/T anyway, we were targeting a few caches that GeckoJ needed for his D/T grid, of which he managed to fill in two for the day. A great winter day out actually, and the inflatable kayak did us well.
A short walk up this boundary had us arrive here, where the cache was quickly found. I tried to leave a TB here, but none of mine were big enough to fit this hideout, or 1-2 of them had specific objectives that weren't conducive with staying here. Oh well, cheers. chrispy89 and 'scargoes.

We remember when this was placed - was that really 2013 [?]. How time flies .
Finally made it back today, walking down from the gate .
Not much room for TB's in here. TNLNSL.
Thanks Chrispy89 and 'scargeoes.

This would be a great place to live if I was a Bunyip. Yes it was dark and no I didn't spot any actual Bunyips. TFTC
This hide out was found so was it really a hide out? There was plenty of second hand sheep food to inhale around here.
Thanks to chrispy89 and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!
A quick early morning hunt doing the Roonka Riddler Challenge puzzles with Uni team before heading back home, a quick find an the last find for us today. TFTFun
Found at 9:52 after a quick run doing the Roonka Riddler Challenge puzzles with Andy Colombia and Chris Uni. Chris and I had noticed this one a couple of nights ago, but couldn't find our way there in the dark after doing the kids' night cache.
Having spent the weekend at Roonka, we stopped to find this one on our way home.
A nice spot to check out.

Great to see this one back in action. Mr Tardis was the first to christen the new logbook.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache chrispy89.

Second cache found whilst staying at Roonka for SA Rovers Raft Challenge. Container is cracked, but the log still seemed to be in okay condition. Thanks for the cache!
Today I paddled from Blanchetown, to Reedy Island and then headed into the Cumbunga Creek lagoon to grab the caches in there, culminating in Zytherans Contoured Cliffs cache - a rewarding 14km round trip.
After entering Cumbunga Creek from near the Roonka Ruins I saw that this cache was 600m away, up a thin reedy creek. After squeezing the kayak through the reeds I made it to within 75m of the cache before I ran out of water. Jumped out of the kayak and promptly sunk up to my thighs in stinky mud Walked the last 75m to the cache and saw it out in the open - something must have popped it out of its hideyhole. Signed the log and then put it back in the hideyhole. Yes I took the long way to get to this cache but it sure was fun!

Visiting Roonka for a bit of R&R before the new scout term begins.
The weather was wonderful so went for a bit of a walk to grab this cache.

Easy find by geojuniors after a short, drizzly walk.
Nice quiet spot spot away from river mugglers.
Took TB, which has been stationary for a while.

Checked again, though the floodwaters got higher, not high enough to wet the cache .
Oddly again found the cache container out in the open on the ground, not in it's hiding spot...
Dropped off Eight Belles II TB to continue it's adventures we've had it too long now!

Maintenance visit on this wild windy day, we've replaced the container and relocated to a spot outside/adjacent the Roonka Conservation Park. The location is on what is actually a old gazetted road corridor and we've used a just right-sized man-made hidey-hole .
Coords included with this log for Chrispy, for an update to the cache details. Cheers 'scargoes (P&F)

Attended a wonderful weekend event at Roonka "Let's Camp and Kayak". Reached my 2000th cache at this event and had such a ball with a great group of cachers. This cache was obtained during the weekend. PERFECT weekend.
Staying at Roonka for the camping and kayaking event and found this cache. found in the company of the silver snitch and dropped 4 tbs as I found this empty.
Found It!
I went for a walk with Mr McKee Clan and the CO and we ended up here. The cache was soon found by the one with the GPS (which was not the CO!), signed and returned. Not sure about the legalities of walking in here...

A nice sneaky walk out to this one as we weren't sure if we were allowed in this area. There were no TB's in the cache when we got there but I believe that problem has been solved. TFTC

Rustic Relics and I walked through the gate from Roonka entrance towards the Conservation Park. We arrived at a locked gate (in a new looking vermin proof fence) and a sign that says "No Entry Authorised Personnel Only". The GPSr was pointing into the park so we decided the cache is in a no go area and did not attempt.
Out for walk while the camp is quiet... 93 paddlers out there on the water from the SA Canoe Team Challenge. Cache all good but no TBs

This was our 3rd find of the day, a day in which we found 10 geocaches.
[blue]Not sure why there is a gate, but no fence. Even so, we did the right thing and went through the gate and made sure we shut the gate behind us as you do when going through gates.[/blue]
Thanks for the cache chrispy89!

Yay! another cache near Roonka -- only now I've found it and once again no geocaching excuse to come up here. I will always remember Roonka fondly as it was the site of a very fabulous weekend with friends and Skippy's 50th birthday. Thanks Chrispy!
9th find of the weekend on a trip up to the Riverland and back down the Wandering Heroes Series.
Found with in company of Team Waldron, Freddo, Skippy and Semik. I stopped on the road and hitched a ride with Skippy and Semik towards the cache.

On again as Camp Wardens but no one in camp. We went for a walk after heaps of rain up here, F hadn't visited this one yet but it got a bit thick and sticky under foot (see photo) via a direct route. Returned via longer one that followed greenery and real tracks not clay pans. Cache all good and dry but no TBs to swap.

After being at Normanville for a day it was time to head to Roonka for the rest of the weekend for tha annual Blackwood Scout Group Family Camp.
I had my kayak on board so went for a paddle for a couple of cache finds.
Took the scenic water route but still had a 1km round walk to the cache.
