Wow exactly were I thought it was the first time but my fingers were too weak. Daniel managed to get it open but we did not sign the log as it was a bit damaged and fear of not being able to do it up again. Photo is a bit of a spoiler for those having trouble
Find No: 6062. Visiting from Newcastle, finally in Darwin after our 3 week stay in Alice awaiting a new engine for the Mighty Prado, loved it, gets afavorite, thanks for the cache mangomail!!
Now visiting Darwin after the Red Centre Experience.
Today was a chance to catch up with some family. Of course we managed to find a few caches.
Wow sad interesting history here. wonder if they will make something to be a memorial here.

#7098 - 12:05; Day 21 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. We had now reached Darwin, our most northerly port, after attending the Red Centre Experience event in Alice Springs. Today we planned to do some more caching in and around Darwin before heading out for a run to the Cox Peninsula to Wagait. A much better day today with 59 finds and only half as many DNFs, 5. All caches we located were in good order, including this one. Nice to have the right tools for the job too! TFTC mangomail
Alice trip 2017. Day 19. Today Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I had a second day around Darwin, but we also went out to wagait beach along the Route 34 series, we even went though a fire.
Thanks.

13555. Next find of Day 11 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip. In Darwin.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. Lucky we had the right tools for this one! Quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and it was off to the next cache.
TNLN - TFTC !!

Day 3 of our (fitzy_1965, LuckyL10n, albida33 and myself) stay in Darwin. A good day out and about with fewer DNF's than yesterday.
The ones we found were a mixture of micro's and small and a lot were in interesting places. Caching in the NT is different to the southern states, so a day of 40 odd is a good return....especially with a bit of sightseeing thrown in as well.
Thanks for all the caches owners and the fun in grabbing them.

Found plenty of options at GZ. Following the activity reports tried some of these options but couldn't retrieve a cache using a tool.
The morning biketour pass me along Bagotroad.
Last year i didn`t found anything, but today it`s need only a moment to spot the hiding-place!
Thank`s for showing this place and the cache!

A very nicely hidden cache - I'm awarding a favourite point. The log was wet and deteriorating - a bit broke off as I was replacing it. thank you mangomail
OK, I give up. This is my second trip here - looked in all the obvious hidy holes and can't find a cache.
Yay! Milestone 300. Been trying to do this cache for sometime, but there have always been locals sitting at GZ. Today was our lucky day. Log is very wet
A piece broke off as we retrieved.

Just checked, cache in situ - just a little difficult to access now re-tweaked and awaiting discovery
TFTC mangomail, nice placement

Today we explored Darwin and surrounds using geocaching as a guide.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Once at GZ there was a bit of head scratching and the Bear was sent back to the Geo Mobile to fetch an extraction device. On return to GZ Cat's hunch proved to be correct at the find was logged.
Nice hide.

My GPS had me all over the place so just checked spots I thought it might be to no avail.
Stopped by this one yesterday but could only let the GPS show me where GZ might be as some locals had made camp on the remains. I saw an interesting item while there and kept going after checking out the remains in the area.
Returning today they weren't about so I returned to the spot and I can say that the co-ords are spot on. So the retrieval was the next issue but I had what I needed and the cache was soon in hand.
Log signed and all returned as found.
Nice hide.

Well worth reminding everyone about this history and location.
Great cache mangomail - nice work!

I have modified the cache a little - still in the same place but made the cache more secure and replaced the log with fresh paper. The last log was becoming quite fragile.
hard find someone must have sabotaged it because we couldn't write our name on the log. anyway TFTC
This was found this afternoon in the good company of Landlockedsailors
While he was waiting from a distance, I went to find it. I overlooked the cache the first time I looked in the right spot, but then after a little while, I managed to spot it anyway.
Thanks for a nice cache which will get a point for a n

A sad bit of history, thanks for sharing it mangomail. Found the cache quickly.
walked up and went yup bet it's there...but GPS said otherwise....after looking I went back and there it was! need to listen to those initial instincts!
Quick find on our way east to find a few geocaches before we had to get back onboard USS BONHOMME RICHARD and leave this great area. Enjoyed this cache - TFTC!
Spending time in Darwin to do some caching, relaxing and maybe some fishing.
Cache was a quick find. But as the yellow bit is broken, the log is now damp.
Thanks for the cache, mangomail.

First find back from down south. Great hide but needs maintenance. (The yellow bit is broken) and no that isn't a helpful clue cachers! !!TFTC
We arrived in Darwin today & have set up our van in the caravan park.
After lunch we headed out to Fanny Bay area to sight sea & look for some caching.
Not too many places to hide a cache on a concrete slab.
Thanks for the information also mangomail

On the pushbike today I was wobbling around the northern bits of Darwin betwixt sea and airport
I ended up here.
A couple of circus caravans were camped out in the park.
Probably early arrivals, waiting for the rest of the circus to catch up for the skool holidays
I rolled to a stop by the big concrete slab.
The GPS was insisting that GZ was in the middle [:o]
Only one possible hidey hole presented itself.
And of course it did hide a cleverly disguised cache
I poked and prodded the hiding spot after extracting the logbook, and there is not much chance it will disappear down a hole, 'cos the hole is blocked

Great cache! Fancachetic even!!
Informative write-up on the history of the area. Impossible to tell without prior knowledge that the concrete slabs at this site were the foundations of mission housing for the children of the stolen generation.

On a Trip to the top end for the V8 Race weekend 14 days of driving and racing
interesting area to go to
interesting area to go to
Spent the day out with Honeysucker grabbing as many caches as we could around Darwin while showing him the sights (it is his first time to the Top End).
The log part has come apart from the cache part and may disappear down. TFTC.

Hit the bikes again, and travelled around Nightcliff, and a little way south with Bettyboo3747.
We did wonder what the slabs of the long gone buildings were used for (probably should read descriptions before doing the cache!)
A nice hide, glad we didn't have to lift the slabs to find it.
Thanks, Robmc.

# 3517. Day 2 of cycling around Darwin with Robmc and trying to collect caches along the way. Altogether not a hugely successful day - gathering 20 Founds and getting 6 DNF's.
To my surprise our GPS was playing fairly here and we zeroed in very quickly to find this bold and clever little hide. Thank you for bringing this little park to our attention.

The smallest member of the Croker Crew found this one and she was very pleased with herself, sneaky, very sneaky, deserves a favorite point for being so clever. T4TC.

Well, STF is not to be sneezed at!
Mozzies yesterday at Fogg Dam... very, very busy ants today, running all over your feet and up your legs today in Coconut Grove.
Thanks for this cache, your first, hopefully of many, mangomail.

Whoo hoo, FTF
Just picked up the phone to see if we had missed any emails when it blinged with notification of this cache. Into the Geo Jimny and off we go.
No lost children wandering around GZ, just a nice little cache to be found (Mrs TiedyeSmileys was on the ball with this quick find).
Be fun trying to find this when the circus is in town.
