The 3 Stooges are at it again. Out on the long weekend hunting caches. We wanted to head north for some high T caches that required a 4WD, but it didn't quite work out, so an alternative plan was hatched. The Riverland.Aimed for some High Terrain caches and caches that have been unloved for some time, years in fact, and with very few finders. Some were quite tricky to solve and took a bit of head scratching and a few other body parts.Plus, some others of interest along the way.Always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderie, and home made cake. All caches found and stamped. If some caches required maintenance, this was done. Thanks to all the COs for hiding and publishing these caches. Made for an adventurous weekendTFTC SL

The original plan was to head to the Argadells north of Port Augusta but the logistics simply didnt work out for us.So its Plan B, the Riverland So here we are, The 3 Stooges, WayneAPN (or as we call him That Numbers Guy), weredunn4 ( Mr Adventure) and myself are hitting the Riverland for some targeted high T caches, plus many many others along the way.Suffice to say, these are always great trips away with heaps of banter, dad jokes, tons of crap talk, but best of all, the camaraderieAll caches found and stamped. Any caches needing maintenance, we did our best to restore them to good health whether that be an additional log or new container. Thanks to all the COs for the caches we found this weekend, without you we dont have this game TFTC

Correct coordinates but couldn’t find unfortunately.

Visited the Tree of Knowledge today, but, given the last 2 logs are DNF's since the waters receded, did not attempt GZ.

The puzzle will need to be reworked as the tree has now been marked with the 2022 level, which, to the uninitiated, messes the puzzle up.

Day six of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A nice day, so we unloaded the deadly treadlies and rode around Loxton to some mixed results.
That is a sizable hill out off the river flats to the town.

We had to find this multi as it was less than 100 meters from our camp!
We started it first thing in the morning, but finally found the cache this afternoon.
Thanks, Robmc.

#18961. Day 6 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. With the day dawning bright and sunny as we had hoped we continued with our plan for this to be a full riding day around town with the doggies in tow. Mind you the wind was bitterly cold most of the day. Some history and some great views along the river. Apart from the smilies and the AdLab we had a couple of DNFs and a couple unattempted.

This one led us a merry dance. We started it as we left the caravan park first thing but couldn't make the find and so we re-worked and re-worked our numbers coming up with the same answer each time. Finally found it after we left camp for a later ride this afternoon. A rather nasty little hide but glad to make the find.

The flood levels are hard to comprehend - 1956 in particular.

Thanks Samboychips

Staying in Renmark for a short holiday, caching around where we travel. Touring around a few towns today and picking up caches along the way. 24 were found today, this cache was one of them.

Very interesting tree at GZ, really puts in perspective how high each flood was. Got some numbers and the checker agreed. Had a scratch around at GZ and expanded our search. Found about 10-15m away from where the arrow wanted us. All good here.

Find #4485 on 21 Jul 2022.

We are finally able to travel interstate without heaps of loops to jump through. We thought we would take it easy and have a look around South Australia and grab a few more LGA's while we were here.
We went for a walk into town and back from the caravan parked and I grabbed the info as we passed by this one. Back at our campervan I did the necessary calculations and saw that it was only 200m away so off I set.
Luckily I had a torch with me and it was a quick find.
This was find number 7 for the day.

Owl and Eagle had run away from the renovations to use their state government-awarded accommodation voucher and to see the parts of the river they missed on their last ill-fated boat trip. This was supposed to be a quick multi while Eagle was flying his drone. The numbers were easy enough, but as they led to the wrong tree Owl was having trouble finding the cache - and someone available for a PaF. Eventually she was successful 13m away from the coordinates and in a place she'd already tried.

Due to the weekend weather forecast for high winds, I had to cancel my planned kayaking trip at the Corong.

At short notice I decided to head to Loxton instead.
The wind was blowing for most of the weekend but thankfully the mild temperatures made for a good haul of finds in and around Loxton.

Numbers quickly gathered and geochecker confirmed I had the correct coordinates but I struggled to find the cache after a 15 minute search. I was getting hungry so decided to abandon the search to continue my walk into town for dinner.

The next morning I tried again and managed to find the cache straight away. I needed to look with my hands, not only my eyes!

Thanks for the cache Samboychips.

A short day for us today but we did cover a load of miles, we nearly ended up back in Victoria. We rectified a DNF from a few years ago, and added 2 DNF's so two blue faces to replace the one we managed to change into a smily face.
More heat, flies and dust and roads that we have not traveled before showing us more of this great brown land that we live in, but we did enjoy our day overall. It really hits you in the face making you realise how hard life was for our pioneers.

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 14. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 4 in the River land. There were two phases to today, first Sol de Lune, Smitten Granny and I went out and did the first 100 On you bike caches, as MinnieK and Fitzy_1965 did them last year. Then we all joined up and started the Multi series 'Around the world in 81caches'. Wow was that a challenge. So many trees and such small well hidden containers. We had to seek help on two, but eventually all the ones out here were done. We also did the traditionals and a puzzle in 'Bakara Conservation Park'. Remember, more water next time !

This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.

After we returned to town, we went shopping then went out for a few caches around the local area. Oh so many mozzies !! Plenty of people on the river, but no one over here.

Thanks for the cache Samboychips

The decision was made to joined in the South Australia tour to hit up the On Ya Bike series with fitzy_1965, Minniek, Smittengranny and Albida33 (who had driven up from his Christmas visit to Adelaide). After getting across the SA border with only a stop for one of us to be (re) tested, we headed to our camping area at Loxton and set up camp.

Day 4 on the series trail dawned and once we had finished those On Ya Bike caches in this area we set about cleaning up a few other caches. The OTD August series was the first to be hit as the lure of 31 large caches was too much to ignore. While some of the caches have obviously been replaced, it was good to see the majority are still the original container. Of course, while grabbing that series of caches, we also passed many others that we stopped for, including a few back in Loxton All caches were found without issue, apart from the 41 degree temp we encounted, and all were signed as FAMSS for fitzy_1965, Albida33, Minniek, Smittengranny and Sol de Lune.

Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches in this area and of course thanks for adding to the fun of our 7 adventure/road trip.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Early in 2021 I received an invite from GoosenEgg and Stainless Steel Rat to join them on a caching trip to the Mega in South Australia. As planning got underway some caches with high Favorite points, very old caches, and the On Your Bike Series were listed as "must-dos"

The trip ended up being 10 days of solid and very enjoyable caching with quite a few highlights. The find count for the trip was around the 950 mark when all GCA, Adventure Lab, and GC caches are included. The high point for finds was a day of 335 finds in the one day, which would have been more, but a sudden storm put the end to caching for the day. No one was interested in getting out of the car to find a cache in a downpour in the dark Smile

We were lucky enough to find Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin's Cache, and my favorite for the trip Barossa High (From 21st of January 2001 with the original log book still in place) all in the one day.

Unfortunately, the caching around the mega was beset by bad weather and the day we had put aside for Mount Gambier was scrapped due to a covid case in Mount Gambier on the previous day, so we avoided the area. We all enjoyed the Fishing series and just managed to get the remaining of these before the light failed for the day.

In the end I managed to completed my D/T grid for the first (and possibly the second time) which was my aim for the year, although some of the D/T combinations were not really achievable in Tasmania without a 3 day overnight bush walk.

Making sure we have enough multis for the challenge in Victoria (if we can ever go there again!!) we called to grab this one. It took a bot longer than we thought. We must be more tired than the thought.
Thanks Samboychips

The Millicent Mega trip had been a long time in the making, for the Tassie trio of stainless steel rat, budgietas and gooseandegg, due to a couple of false starts thanks to COVID19. More and more caches were added to the extensive list as planning was being finalized. We focused on old caches, large caches, certain D/Ts, virtual caches, the On your Bike series and a few other special ones on our journey. Our route saw us caching in Adelaide for a few days before heading north via Gawler to the Barossa in preparation for the On your Bike series, whilst basing ourselves at a gorgeous cottage in Waikerie. We continued on to Renmark for a night before the long trek south to Millicent.
Some of the many highlights along the way were Gawler Fort Knox, Dustin’s Cache, Barossa High and Riverland (the oldest surviving geocache in South Australia).
At the Mega we caught up with a few of our caching friends, made some new ones, and of course missed many who could not make it this time. The weather was not the best in Millicent, and a COVID19 situation in Mt Gambier altered our plans but we had plenty of caches to keep us busy between showers, including tree climbs, plenty of adventure labs, and the entertaining Finding a Fish series - giving the new pole a good workout for the first time.
Thanks to all the CO’s who have placed and maintained all these caches that made our adventure so memorable.

This one took us a little longer to find than it should but a second look in the original place and it was discovered

Even with the numbers being down it was great to attend a Mega and at least get to meet some fellow cachers after so long and catch up with a few people, we flew over from Tassie on Thursday and after spending a few days in Adelaide we headed Northeast to clean up some series and then head South to Millicent for the start of the Mega long weekend.

This trip has changed so many times since it was first booked and I'm glad we got to do it at long last, to start with it was just myself and GooseandEgg nipping over for the Mega and then it was a few more days with the addition of 1 toolman, then with lockdown it was back to two of us but then another Tassie cacher in the shape of BudgieTas stepped up to the plate and we were back on for an over a week trip to grab a few caches before the Mega and then finish off with Millicent before flying home on the Tuesday.

Thanks for the cache.

With murmurings of more covid-19 community transmissions and the possible need for another lockdown in Queensland, I decided to high-tail it out of there Surprised and found myself in South Australia earlier than expected to attend the Mega Event in Millicent [^] After a week in Adelaide, it was time to pick up a little camper van and explore further afield. The Barossa Valley was great for a few days followed by some time in Berri and surrounding areas before heading down towards Millicent Cool

I had stayed overnight at the nearby caravan park and before I left the area, I headed down to the Tree of Knowledge to find a cache to help with tracking my trip through South Australia Big Grin

The cache was located easily enough and with my name added to the log book, I continued on my way Razz

Thank you Samboychips for creating the cache and for maintaining it for everyone to enjoy Big Grin

Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled around the Murray Riverlands, visiting Loxton, Paringa, and Renmark. We started the day from Berri, travelling south and finding a few miscellaneous geocaches. Once at Loxton, we completed the *Historical Loxton* Adventure Lab, found a few geocaches along the river, and then had lunch in town. We then drove towards Paringa, and took a walk around Murtho and Headings Cliffs. We then proceeded back through Renmark, and finished off our evening with a walk at Wilabalangaloo and completing the Berri *A River Contemplation* Adventure Lab.

This famous tree was kind of cool to visit. We initially obtained the required flood years, although during my first attempt, I had forgotten to see the highest flood level, until [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) pointed it out to me. Whoops. Once the final coordinates were worked through, we made the short walk to GZ, where the cache was quickly found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Samboychips for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.

Today fitzy_1965, two geo-kids & I headed out to do the On Ya Bike series which kept us from going insane (just!) doing the solves whilst in lockdown last year.

With the Bike series finished and spare time up our sleeves, we headed for the WH Fishy Tales geoart....as well as others along the way. A nice quick little multi!

All caches found quickly and easily unless otherwise stated.

23,249. Found with minniek during our Post-Christmas escape to South Australia.

This trip to South Australia was on again off again due to the changing circumstances in the various states we had to travel through. Finally getting a green light from all 3 states we headed off early boxing day. Day 13 of our adventures took us around the On Ya Bike series (solved during lockdown last year) and the Wandering Heroes Fishy Tales series plus cherry picking some other caches along the way. All caches were found quickly and in good order unless otherwise stated. Next find of the day. A nice quick find at GZ after gathering the required information. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, and then headed off to the next one.

Thanks Samboychips !!

It was nice to spend a few days camping out in the bush and visiting many scenic locations, staying at great campsites and finding an assortment of targeted caches as well as the satisfaction of clearing up some remote spots on the geocaching map. Found on a trip to the Riverland with FeatherWaite.

It was nice to be able to finally get out and about again for a few days of travelling, camping and caching. We were lucky with the weather, with mostly sunny days, relatively warm temperatures and no rain to speak of.

We targeted specific caches and areas and found a good selection of traditionals, multis, puzzles, letterboxes and a wherigo. Most of the containers and contents were in reasonable condition, although we did have to replace a few.

Surprisingly we didn’t come across any many other people on our travels. Perhaps it was just a product of where we went, or maybe people are holding off for the June long weekend.

This was a nice, simple little multi that was completed quickly.

Thanks Samboychips for the cache.

*Cache find # 10537.*

In town for a couple of days staying at the caravan park so I went for a wander and started this multi, I had a good set of coordinates as the checker agreed so over I went for a look but after a while I headed back to the cabin without the find, that was yesterday.
Today I returned with reinforcements ( biggles1024 ) for another look, the search started at one object but after a while Mark was at another and found the cache.

**Thanks to Samboychips for placing this cache.**

Multi Find #363**

The third day of our caching adventure to NW Victoria and South Australia dawned fine and warm.
After completing the bike geoart and finding a few more caches on our back to Loxton, we rested for an hour or so and then proceeded to look for a few local caches in the coolness of the late afternoon.
Steve had done the 'heavy lifting' on this multi a little earlier so it just remained to find the cache. A torch was essential but the hide gave up its contents fairly quickly.

**Thank-you to Samboychips for placing this geocache**

We had come and collected the information needed on our last visit here and searched GZ but came up empty. Today we came back to give it another go. Crazy enough the cache was located in one of the spots we had thought we had thoroughly searched on the previous visit. Thanks for the hunt with this one. Amazing at the heights the water rose too!

Wow! So much poking in the obvious spot and finally appeared! TFTC and also to previous loggers!

No luck at gz after getting a tick on the checker

Found It!
I went to WP1 on a previous visit but had no luck at GZ that day. I think I finally got lucky here today. Found it slightly (but only slightly) to the south of where the GPS takes you. Nice park.

What a saga. After working on this one with team 4Moule the wives got to work sorting the coordinates, which took ages because we kept getting it wrong... Oh, look up!!
With the checker giving us the green light we headed to GZ. With 4 sets of eyes and poking and spying into every likely option we sadly walked away defeated. We'll be back!

Travelled up to NW Victoria with feathertop to spend the next 3 days caching in the area. She proved an excellent driver and companion while I was the passenger. We tackled many caches along the way before arriving in Loxton to prepare for our big day tackling the On Your Bike series.
All the caches were found successfully and in good condition.

This one proved interesting but also a challenge as it was becoming dark and we were tired. Our calculations put us about 8m out so after searching the obvious spots our search was expanded and torches turned on to check out the darker hiding nooks. Oh so relieved to hear feathertop call out got it.

I found this multi with 6hinemoa2 early evening. Loved the tree and the amazing flood levels.
It was getting dark so a phone torch was necessary to find the cache about 8m from my calculations. Thanks

We really wanted to find this one. Caz searched late yesterday and we both looked this morning, but like the previous searcher, found no sign of it. Thanks Samboychips, we’ll try again one day if we’re ever up this way again.

Playing hooky from work and out today with Dunmowin to show them around and grab some caches. Nice easy little multi, and a magnificent tree! TFTC

Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.

Staying for the week in Nuriootpa with our friends SnappyTomCats. This week is Streak Week, Day 4.

A rather major drive to day, Nuri to Loxton, and back via Waikerie. BIG DAY. Mrs STC drove all day. It rained and was cold, we had lunch beside the Murray at Loxton and had lot of laughs.

Wow, that is a lot of water under the bridge, especially in 1956.

Coordinates adjusted, we all looked there - in the obvious spot, but eventually STC and his tool found it. Thanks Samboychips

Needed some help with this one, not sure how exactly you get CD with the 2 heights.
Cache was found a fair way out but the mint tin was found after a short search

Out for the day caching with nettieknows around Loxton, we collected all the caches in the town but the main reason for our trip was to have a look around Loxton and enjoy the area.

Thanks for the cache

We arrived in Loxton an found a beautiful town on the banks of the Murray River.
Solved the multi and got the green tick of approval.
A great big bird nearby as well.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful spot.
