Out on a Sunday afternoon drive, such a beautiful area.We enjoyed our afternoon out, finished with icecream at Beechworth.TFTC
Im slowly making my way home after the Canberra Geobash Mega and I am in no rush to get there. After a challenge series and some geo art in NSW on the way back yesterday and Im now back in Victoria.I spent the night in Beechworth and I finally completed the Randolph series this morning which is why I came home this way. This is day 9 of my trip and the weather is still fantastic and all I can say is what are long pants. Now for some back roads to find some caches and challenges and to also head towards Rutherglen to start and finish off a series before it disappears. There are plenty of great letterboxes around and thanks for highlighting some of them.Container was found lying out in the middle of the ground signed and replaced at GZ.Thanks BettyBoo3747 TFTC.
A break from the HSS series - the find took a few minutes as nothing seemed obvious where the GPSr indicated GZ to be. Expanding the search eventually turned up the container. We took the TB to move on. Thanks to BettyBoo3747 for the cache.
I was in the area after as many of the HSS series and this cache came up to view. Having done at least one other Letterbox art I decided to add to my collection. Another find was made. Thank you BettyBoo for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
I really enjoy these letterbox art caches. Some people are just so imaginative.I found this one as my day of caching was coming to an end.Thank you BettyBoo3474

Find number 12655 at 11:03:23am on Tuesday the 7 November 2023I was up at Goughs Bay for the weekend and one of my tasks for the following few days were to finish off the basketball series, with only 10 to do it shouldn't take too long, I just need to pull the finger out and get up to Everton. The plan for today is to finish off the series and grab a few more targetted caches around the area.Always love a good letterbox **Thanks for placing this cache BettyBoo3747**---If you are looking for some new caches to find, explore the nominees for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The Nominations Geocaching List is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)!Voting is now closed for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards and the awards event will be posted soon
Out with Geodog exploring the local area. Amazing artwork. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
I am in Rutherglen for the week leading up to the Easter Mega event. Enjoying some local food and an abundance of great caches.
I ventured south for the afternoon to find a few solved puzzles and other caches I passed along my travels.
Thanks for the cache BettyBoo3747.

Nice quick one on our way to a day out with the in laws. Nothing like a few caches along the way to make the day bareable. TFTC
Found this cache at the end of a hoop shooting session with ilook4geo. There certainly are some decorative letter boxes around. The cache was quickly found and the log was signed with both names. Thank you to BettyBoo3747 for pointing out these local features.
Came along with goingplaces2. Cache was located, log was signed, all was replaced. Job done! TFTC.
Found with suss vulture during the aftermath of the amazing Wangaratta mega. Grabbed this one whilst doing the Basketball. Awesome letterbox once again, I always love finding caches in this series whenever I come to this part of Victoria. Quick find at GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC BettyBoo3747!
Found today in tbe company of Toy Hunters. It's been years since we last found one in this series. Great to be visiting your region again!
Found while attending the 2022 Mega event at Wangaratta.
I drove across from Adelaide with Freddo. We took a week to get there and back as we meandered our way around northern Victoria, camping mostly along the river and generally avoiding contact with other people as far as possible to minimise covid risks.
While at the Mega we teamed up with gridge98 & Co. Most logs were signed FEGC (ie Freddo, e.gregory1 and gridge98 & Co).
We targeted some specific caches of interest, but also took the opportunity to find other random caches opportunistically as we were passing. Most of the puzzle caches were solved prior to leaving Adelaide in preparation for the trip.
Although we managed to find a lot of caches over the weekend, we really only barely scratched the surface, leaving plenty of excuses to return to the area another time. I'm sure I'll be back.
Thanks BettyBoo3747 for the cache.

Today it was time to head out of Wangaratta after spending most of our time on this visit in the town looking for a variety of caches and attending the various activities and events.
What a well organised Mega Event with some great activities and plenty of opportunities to meet fellow cachers!
We were hoping to avoid the heat but were late starting so we decided to focus on the HSS series and caches in between, but particularly those along roads so we could use the air conditioning.
By far the majority of caches were in good condition with accurate coordinates although a few had us searching widely and we did have a few DNFs. (We were allocating a max 5 mins for each search so as to keep moving.) We'll have to come back for them!
Our sincere thanks to the local cachers who have put in mammoth efforts in developing the copious number of caches in the area and maintaining them so effectively. Your efforts are appreciated.

Today our main focus was around the HSS caches and completing most of the series where possible. A great series with some different cache hides
A short stop here today cache was easily found and is all good
After heading to tassie for almost 3 weeks, we detoured to Wangaratta for the Victorian Mega to catch up with some friends that we hadn’t seen for months if not years. We caught up with Freddo and e.gregory1 for the duration of the weekend, travelling around the local areas finding many of the caches that were on offer. To save room in the log books we signed as FEG or FEGC.
A wonderful area and nice to have a look around in somewhere I had only visited for 20mins before.
Thanks for the cache

On our weekend visiting Wangaratta, we stopped along the busy road and manage to pull in safely to find this one.
After a quick search and had our name added to the log.

Headed south with my caching mates, steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert to attend the on, off, on again COVID restricted Wangaratta Mega event...... credit to the organisers for persisting.
With us having limited time in the area, we tried to pack as much as we could into each day. From Glenrowan, to Beechworth, to Mrytleford, to Warby Ovens NP, to the streets of Wangaratta, we seemed to be on the go all the time. While the weather was too hot for caching at times we often found relief by cooling off in the river.
We found so many different types of caches, its a credit to all the CO's for providing the caches for everyone to find, whether they were new or old placements, we had a great time in Wang.
Spent the afternoon tackling some of the HSS series.

Day 6 of my road trip and Day 2 of my Wangaratta MEGA event. Today I teamed up with Domsky and we spent the day trekking around the countryside. We spent a lot of time playing basketball and then headed up to Beechworth for a break and some lunch. Then it was back to the basketball and a few others as we passed by. What a great series of caches and some absolutely stunning countryside. Thank you so much for placing these here I have really enjoyed another day in this area.
It was a fun day and many laughs, it was also nice to have the variety in the caches. I am so overwhelmed by the views and the countryside feel around this area.
We signed all logs as domsky and chamad and replaced caches as we found them. There was a nice variety in the caches we found today, which just added to the fun of the day, thanks.

The lure of a couple of extra icons (Maze and Locationless) meant that I was more keen than normal to attend a Mega Event. Covid issues asside, a plan was hatched, rehatched, changed and finalised to attend for a few days in Victoria with Steeba, Wilbert67 and The Rats. Another trip away like countless others that we have done before, and yet totally different, thanks to Covid.
The caches were excellent. The company, as always, fantastic. We find more than our fair share of Adventure Labs, as well as complting a few series. I think we walked away with 300 finds, not a bad haul. The laughs were endless, but that is to be expected on trips away like this.
Thanks so much to all of the cache hiders, and especially to the event organisers. I cannot imagine the hoops that you had to keep jumping through to get this off the ground. A special thank you for bringing the Maze Down Under!
Please forgive the boiler-plate log, I assure you it is no reflection on the caching experience of our few days away. Again thank you to all cache owners for their hides.
Cheers

Second session in this area today with RoddyC, hatsofff & grannysmith1947 (signing as Team 44 QLD) to continue on with the HSS series as well as picking up a few solved puzzles & trads along the way.
Most caches were found in great condition and were easily enough to spot, we also appreciate all the time and effort that has gone into placing and maintaining these caches for our benefit, thank you to all the CO's.

Not sure how I managed to find this one, but I will take it. I just love the letter boxes.
It is ages since Pa and I had a serious day's caching and it was great. Although more a muggle than a cacher Pa soon settled into his role as chauffeur, tree climber and successful finder when I couldn't. Thanks Pa.
I had mapped out a route that mainly involved HSS but knowing that I couldn't possibly get them all I cherry picked the ones I wanted. I included some others too but had a DNF on one of them.
After about 35 finds we relaxed a bit and enjoyed stops for morning tea and lunch which was fabulous overlooking Bates Dam after completing Once I was a Pub. By this time I was already wishing that I was at one.
The day continued around the loop until we were back in Everton where we rewarded ourselves with icecreams.
Thanks to all the COs for contributing to our wonderful day. All logs were signed SG or maybe my full name occasionally.

In Wangaratta for the Mega, we traveled over early so we could get some local caching in. After stowing the shop in a storage shed so it wasn't bouncing around in the back of the car we set up in the caravan park and Can now cache and explore. We headed out early..ish today our mission to explore Beechworth and Bright and of course...to Cache! Cool Letterbox and a quick find at GZ. TFTC
barb2e, Kittykatch, Joolay and I went on a roadtrip to Beechworth and surrounds after we had solved a lot of the puzzles around here in the last few months. We went to Myrtleford this morning and then attacked the Basketball with quite a few others on the side.
I really liked the Letterbox Art here. Very nice.

This afternoon I decided some more caching was in order as we were leaving Punkah to go home tomorrow. Babcia and 2 kids were not interested in joining us, so hubby and 1 kid joined me on our ongoing caching adventures. My mission was to begin the long task of picking up the caches in the HSS series and a few other random ones along the way.
Another letterbox art cache found. I'm slowly making my way around finding them all. It's been a fun experience so far with the variety in creativity. I did wander around and around much longer than necessary here as hubby and daughter looked at me through the windows of the car. How embarrassing. Finally I found it. The cache and log is in good condition.
Thank you for the cache here BettyBoo3747

Was notified as to the sad state of affairs of this cache by today's finders. Called past and left a new container and log book etc. Now has a new hiding place so will update coordinates.
Found today, looks to have been run over as container is broke and lid was off and not hidden at all.
Cool letterbox though, have messaged the owner about repairs

I love this letterbox series. There are so many cool and quirky bush letterboxes around and it’s great to visit and see more of them. Found the cache in place, although I could make good use of its surroundings!

Out and about helping out a mate with some maintenance on his Hoop Series caches. So l thought l may as well make the most of my time out and about and grab some caches along the way. Cache found in good condition
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??

This is another great letterbox in this area. Curious to know if there was once a competition here or if it is just something that the locals all like to do. They are fun to keep an eye out for. This was a nice quick find once we looked in the right area. Thanks for the cache.
Day 2 of our getaway to Beechworth, and we were out and about with micaparamedic, Geoturtle37 and Papi4506. This afternoon we ventured out to Stanley and Myrtleford, and we stopped by this cache on the way back to Beechworth. Walked straight past the cache at first - how did we do that! Love these letterbox art caches. TFTC BettyBoo3747
It is great to be out here this weekend. We are lucky that the weather came well after all of the rain we had earlier. Thanks for placing. I do love this part of the world.
A long-overdue weekend camping trip with Jentrek1, focussing on the basketball art.
Day one. Due to the rain, today was mostly drivebys.
Awesome letterbox. Has had a paint facelift recently too.

Another letterbox and this time it is a house! Fantastic! I wonder if the house on the property looks like this one. Thanks for bringing us here.
A week long tour for the wife and I in the caravan around the Beechworth area deserved many caches. Visited many historic buildings and wineries and shops, which helped support our regional counsins. Easy as find at 2:56pm, Took the TB for a journey around Victoria for a trip. Love the letterbox, FP from me. we
First thing.. A most very special TB left in this cache. Bye REGGIE. On route to Myrtleford to enjoy the rest of our time away.
The little house has been renovated since Betty Boo’s photo! The red roof is now light grey. TFTC

All was good, Recovered it, tagged it, re-established it, then on our way, now logged it

Blame mystery at the museum for logs via the app while on the road!
Ok so that's not quite true for this day/night's caching trip... I just thought I'd leave it in here to tie all the caches found for this challenge together!
Rex and I set out with the mission to find 32 geocaches in order to meet the requirements for this current challenge.
Naturally it was a freezing cold (Arctic winds and weather due to what was described as 'the worst storm of winter') so we spent all day from about 4pm until midnight traipsing through long, wet grass and water filled roadside verges with rain falling intermittently and cold winds blowing through us [xx(][xx(]
I found the last cache just before midnight [|)][xx(] then changed into dry clothes for the trip home [^] and had Harry's heater on high [:X][^]
All up 34 cache finds and 6 DNF's although we did manage to find a couple that had previously been DNFs so that made the day/night much brighter especially since I had only been caching about an hour with my hand held sun when the sunlight ceased! [xx(]
No problems, spare charged batteries in Harry [^] except a short while later they shut down too[xx(] Obviously they WEREN'T charged
Time to rely on the head torch and pray that the batteries in it don't go flat before I get the last 6 or so caches that I need Thankfully it did last and the goal was met!! [^][^]

Left Adelaide heading for the V8's at Winton, what a better way to seek a few Yellow faces along our route.
Some have been interesting as others not so, but without having a go we wouldn't have been brought to those special places in the Geocaching World.
Thank to the CO for maintaining these hides and getting us out of the car.

This morning was my last day in this lovely area, and I set about finding the ones I wanted to find rather than just seeing how many I could find. Quality over quantity you might say. Then it was undertaking the three hour drive back to Melbourne where I was keen to find some solved puzzle caches I hadn't found on my previous visit in November last year.
My last Letterbox Art cache on this trip. A great little series that highlights peoples creativity. I enjoyed finding them. A Favourite Point added here for all of them.
I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. A big thanks to the owners of all the caches I’ve found over the last three days, pretty much all of the caches I found were in good condition and well maintained. Cheers and TFTC

We headed over to Beechworth to attend the Murmumgee Pumpkin Festival and give BettyBoo3747 some moral support and comic relief.
Today we were escorted from Beechworth by the CO as she performed some maintenance along the way. Cute letterbox - if it was near us it would get pinched.
Thanks for highlighting this BettyBoo3747 and thanks for a great weekend.
