What a lovely morning filled with fun and laughter and all things yummy!
So many people helped us at this event and made it a very special occasion.
For those not in the know... Mrs Scoobster is an Ambassador for the Cancer Council of South Australia, she has been for more than 4 years now. She became an ambassador a year after her mum passed away from cancer and as a thankyou for all the help the CCSA gave her during that time, she has been doing volunteer work for them ever since. (1 year later she was invited to become and Ambassador).
The point of the pancake breakfast was to bring together a wonderful group of people to celebrate our friendships, love and family in a beautiful setting, sharing stories and fun. And that was certainly achieved.
Special thanks to the wibbles who arrived early and helped us set up, and brought some super yummy cakes, muffins and other goodies!
Ttrog - who brought soooooooo much yummy yummy maple syrup
Skippy/Audra who brought the icecream
Locus - for the pancake flour, Leanne burton for the Eggs, Flippers for all the milk, Huurtle who brought the BBQ
AND EVERYONE ELSE.. who brought fruit, jam, cream, lemons.. etc.. there are soo many people who helped - and it was a fantastic community event.

Special mention has to go to Mr Scoobster and his industrial sized mixing technique! Smile

The scoobsters would like to thank each and every person for attending and sharing a special day with them.

*an extra special thankyou to everyone who left a donation in the box - it wasn't the intention of the day, but it was lovely to see that people did it anyway, between that and our facebook contributions the geocaching community raised over $300 Smile

THANKYOU EVERYONE!!! <3 <3 <3

What a yummy spread we enjoyed for breakfast! Thankyou Scoobsters for a brilliant idea!

What a great start to the day. Got to meet some great and friendly people, which is good as I'm sometimes shy with new people. Smile

Got 3 path tags, thanks for those, I will log them in soon.

Thanks Scoobsters for a great morning.

26-May-13
What a fantastic event Scoobsters! As always! Smile
I arrived a little later than I had planned as the alarm didn't go off but I was lucky that Heidi had made enough pancake mix to feed almost the entire SA caching community so there were still plenty left Smile
As always, It was lovely to put some new faces to very familiar names, and see some good caching mates too! There always seems to be other cachers that I don't get around to talking to though Sad

After a delicious brekkie, AND a hot coffee [^] we headed off in pursuit of four other caches!

I also got to meet the lovely 2y'stassies on the way out and thank them for their lovely personalized log on my WH cache!

Scored a couple of pathtags and trackables today too!

Thanks to everyone who chipped in with today's event, and to the Scoobsters for making it all happen!

26-May-13

Well better late than Never we arrived to find fellow Cachers still here so we did make the event, but yes there was someone to blame for TheKellyGang for being late ( Geomum) Vicky finished work at 9am this morning quick change then in the Geolux to head from Clare to Adelaide. Geomum rested up while Geodaughter Amy went a walking finding caches with a group of Cahcers playing follow the leader. Geodad talking catching up with other fellow cachers. A great morning to start the day. TFTE

I explored lots with the geo kids and enjoyed catching up with a few familiar faces, was even lucky enough to run into a friend of mine in the park - Thanks to TS for the Event from postiegirl06 Smile

26-May-13
It was a great pleasure to meet so many cachers and caching teams. Many we knew by name but now we can link faces to caching names. It was also pleasing to meet a number of new caching teams and to relive the enthusiasm of starting geocaching. We really appreciated the warmth with which we were greeted and the friendship extend. Thank you to all we met (hope we didn't miss anyone - apologies if we did) and a very special thanks to Team Scoobster for the yummy pancakes and for organising the event.

26-May-13

Anyways, it was great to see so many for breaky, and thanks to Scoobsters organising.

We arrived early, so we had some time for our stomachs to settle before second breakfast. Mmmm mmm mmm are those pancakes good, you had to be quick to grab one every time a new stack appeared because they were going like.... hotcakes. Razz
With everyone's bellies so full of pancakes we were shocked that most of our muffins were gone by the time we left too, happy dance for us! (we had visions of eating muffins for the next few days until we got sick of them).
Lots of cachers new and old to chat to, we got to put some faces to names finally and even meet some interstate cachers who were happy to trade pathtags with us!
A perfect spot for the event too, Scoobsters, you done good.

26-May-13
With Mrs frog saying she felt well enough to travel, we arrived as the BBQ was pulling out of the park but plenty of cachers were still there enjoying there after pancake chats, spent nearly 2 hours sociallising before heading off to the awards, managed to pick up one cache and talk to several new cachers, Mrs frog swapped a couple of pathtags and although we missed the pancakes this time we look forward to a batch sometime in the future. Thanks for the event Team Scoobsters and the work that goes towards the cancer council WELL DONE GUYS!!!!

Snuck in to surprise Heidi after initially thinking I would be working that day, silly me.
I only managed 2 pancakes then off I went caching around the park, most I had got years ago but making new friends and caching en mass is always fun!
Lots of good food, the hubby and kids enjoyed themselves and what a perfect day for it!
Great work for all your effort Heidi & Rodney!

Our first GeoEvent.

Jaxon and I attended the Pankake event where I was amazed at the quality of catering and had an opportunity to meet a few of the many people that attended.

Whilst Jaxon and I where there, we managed to pick up 2 nearby caches and Jaxons friend Dean experienced his first Geo Caching find.

We met up with some friends who also attended the event and thought we would also snag a few caches in the area.

Thanks to those who organised such an amazing event and I hope to attend more.

07-May-13
Sport kills Sundays for us. But what a great start...would have been yum. What better than to start with pancakes and then head off to awards with a full tummy of yummy things? Have fun.

04-May-13
Sounds like lots of fun I will be there but flying solo.
Lemon and sugar is the only way to go Smile

01-May-13
Sounds like a great morning!!! Will be there!

27-Apr-13
love a good pancake breakfast on a Sunday morning. will try my best to get there.

26-Apr-13
We (Sue and Phil) would love to attend - a great opportunity to meet up with SA cachers, some of whom we have been in contact with by email and many of whom we know by name, but have not had the opportunity to meet. We are coming to Adelaide for a couple of weeks to stay with our son and his partner - or, to be more accurate, to base ourselves with them whilst we cache!

21-Apr-13
We are unable to attend due to an interstate family reunion. Have a great time.

21-Apr-13
Oh I do plan on being there for this one...
Always love a day out caching and catching up with friends...
Cheers

21-Apr-13
Sorry - I will be at a little car rally thing Wink

Would love to come but kids' sport still happening.
Twisted

20-Apr-13
Team Frarog will be there.

19-Apr-13
Will be there sounds like a great way to start the day off.

17-Apr-13
I can't see any reason not to be there! Are we all going to travel in a large convey to the awards afterwards and go via 20 caches on the way? lol

17-Apr-13
Sounds like a great plan to me Ben Wink

12-Apr-13
The Wibbles will be there.
Mrs Wibble is known as the queen of pancakes amongst her cub scouts at camps and sleepovers, Mrs Scoobster must therefore never be allowed near any of these kids lest their expectations for pancake quality be raised to a higher level!
Maple syrup (the proper stuff, pity it is so expensive) and cream or icecream is our vote.
Recent alternative "exotic" discovery that worked well: Coconut juice boiled with sugar to create a cocount syrup, served with fresh or canned mango pieces. Mmmmm!!!

We can bring along some extra muffin/cupcake/something breakfasty as a contribution too.

11-Apr-13
Will be travelling around the state a bit before this event so hope to be back in time.
Just love pancakes.

WOOOOHOOOO pancakes for brekky, I hope someone plans to bring a lovely choccy cake for Mr flipper as he turns the ripe young age of 55 two day later, naaah no prezzies just pathtags please.

Mark/Gayle

10-Apr-13
We should be there all things being equal

10-Apr-13
Since I am bringing the flour, I guess I had better attend or there will be some very runny 'things' to eat that just may not quite resemble pancakes Wink
Now, what games are we having.... balloons filled with flour for the balloon tossing competition[?]

10-Apr-13
Sounds like fun, pancakes with banana and maple syrup are what Ill be having - ill bring the bananas to add yummmm yummmm yummmm!!!!
