The glow trail has become too difficult to maintain - we've probably placed about 20kg of glowing rocks along the trail over the years! Even spraying glow paint directly on the ground has not been sufficient.
Cache will be reborn as a traditional instead.

19-Jun-21
Goldielover and I could find anything in any direction from the listed co-ords.
Pity as we made a special effort to visit these three night caches. Nothing to be gained by visiting them at the moment.
The views up here at night were magical. Apparently we missed a beautiful sunset.

19-Jun-21
Second DNF. Could not locate any marks on the ground. Searched for half an hour.

03-Oct-20
We were having a fun evening out finding some night caches. This was the 4th of 5 we attempted.

After we found our way to the starting location, it took a couple of minutes to spot the glow, but once we knew what we were looking for, it was fairly easy to find and follow the trail. We liked the extra glow that appeared around the hiding spot.

Once the log book was signed, we shone the torches around to see if there was an alternative way out, but it looked like we'd get quite a few scratches, so we retraced our track back out. Another fun experience! Many thanks Frozen Feet.

11-Jul-20
Removing maintenance tag.

11-Jul-20
Extra glows added. Final cache is still in good condition.

02-Jul-20
Looks like its time for some glow to be added.

30-Jun-20
With some help from a previous finder, I was able to track down this one. There is almost zero glow anywhere. We found more on the way out than we did on the way in. This one likely needs some more CO attention.

Thanks for the cache Frozen Feet.
Found on 30/6/20 at 8:23 pm.
Find #11317.

18-Aug-18
Couldn't make a start on this one tonight. Don't know if it was due to a bright moon or what but we couldn't spot the new glow. We will return to try again.

30-Jun-18
New glow installed in a different manner which should last much longer. Final cache all good.

25-Jun-18
Offline until I can fix up.

24-Jun-18
Just over 2 years and the groups of us found it tonight. Out for the night with a few fellow caches to complete the night caches in the area. This one would of never been good but there is no way that could of been completed without having the final. TFTC

24-Jun-18
This needs fixing

24-Jun-18
We went to the initial coordinates, and no matter how hard we tried at energising potential glow markers around the place and then turning our torches off, we couldn’t see any bio luminance back! Consequently we had to resort to some prepared information provided by the CO to continue this cache. Walked along a makeshift trail, and tried going up and down, but prickly trees were too dense, so instead we followed the cache description advice to walk along the gully, and then when close, walked up. Again, all the while, trying to see if we could find any hint of glow, but instead nothing.

At the prepared coordinates, it didn’t take long to find the ammo container cache. The next half was finding our way out of there, and so we tried continuing along the gully trail all the whole trying to find a way out back to the marked trail. Eventually found an exit!

This cache definitely needs maintenance and a CO review as we couldn’t see any evidence of a glow that can be provided to future geocachers. We do appreciate the work that has gone into this in the past though, thanks.

24-Jun-18
Davidwazza has got some handy hints on the final location of this one. Very glad he did, as there were no reflectors in sight for this night cache. After two years under a rock, was very well buried!

13-Mar-17
Followed the coords on this one after dark last night. Couldn't find first mark, so after 20 mins of searching have left this one for another night

18-Sep-16
Logging to remove needs maintenance icon as the cache has been fixed.

14-May-16
After grabbing yet another pre- 2007 cache (which I am slowly working my way through) I found myself at the 'Babies of May' event, to catch up with all the geocaching gossip with the usual suspects. I had planned a quiet evening in afterwards, but who could resist a night of caching with jambo chicken and alex-thesquirrel? Certainly not me! This resulted in a night time hike assault of the mulit's in and around Mount Osmond, which had been on the radar for some time.

Having already done the Monato version of this cache, I knew what I was in for. The path is still navigatable and the 'markers' still light up quite well. A beautiful night for a hike and some spectacular views looking out made this a great experience. Another favourite point heading your way.

This was find number 3 of 5 for the day for me. TFTC Frozen Feet!

14-May-16
Found with RideTheGeoWalrus and Alex-thesquirrel. Needed the help finding the starting location but was easy enough after. Glad this was first after dark which helped slightly. TFTC

12-May-16
Another variation on a night cache walk.
Short, but fun.
Cache found easily too.

Thanks for the cache Frozen Feet

30-Apr-16
Once we got our eye in, it was a very easy stroll to the cache. Those prickly hawthorn trees are evil though!! Thanks for all the effort in placing and maintaining this Frozen Feet, great cache!

27-Mar-16
Glows replaced, and final checked - amazingly still there given it was left out in the open!

06-Jan-16
Nice walk on a windy windy night. Unfortunately there were no signs of a glowing ground. Followed the description anyway and tried to predict where GZ was but had no luck unfortunately!

06-Jan-16
Okay, looks like some more glowies might need to be added. Will check when we can, unfortunately this may not be for at least a few weeks, as not physically able to walk that far with a bag of heavy rocks right now!

16-Oct-15
Having read the logs and with the difficulty we had finding any painted rocks maybe this one needs to be checked out. The cache itself is in good condition.

14-Oct-15
We found this cache by default.
We looked for this cache at night and could not find a single reflective stone/rock. The grass is long and perhaps the rocks are in hiding . We read the logs and didn't really pick up any info there so we decided to go back in daylight and see what there was to see.
We uncounted one small snake (brown?) on the way to the cache. Once at GZ we still did see anything that may fitted the bill. We decided to do an "emu hunt". Hubby took the bottom end of the slope and I took the upper half. Through a process of elimination we found the cache. SL TFTC

16-Jul-15
Found another drop bear

01-May-15
The local series of night caches have been on the radar for quite a while now, and being a cool and clear evening I thought the time was right. Arrived at the posted coordinates but had trouble locating any glowy things so off I headed in several directions hoping to pick up the scent. Still no luck, but after a search in ever-widening circles, persistence finally paid off and the pot of gold was found. Thanks for the adventure Frozen Feet!

26-Mar-15
Cache has been re-enabled but please note ALL WARNINGS on the cache page.
There is a deer culling program in place that may include shooting after dark until midnight Monday-Thursday.
ONLY attempt this cache on Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights or on public holidays or school holidays when shooting does not occur.
At all times you should be mindful of your visibility. Wear bright clothing and carry plenty of torches.

02-Mar-15
Disabled due to report that cachers have encountered deer hunters in the area at night. Will unfortunately have to archive all night caches in this area unless another solution can be sought.

24-Jan-15
We drove around in circles for a LONG time before switching driver/navigator roles. This improved things no end, with Fi and Ali in their preferred positions. Finally parked, tested out the handbrake and set off into the darkness. After walking around in the dark, possibly not in entirely correct direction we eventually found the 'glow' and the briars that Charlie (who had read the description) had warned us about. Finally made it to the cache, and signed the log. Morrisminor announced "It's a miracle!" Which pretty much explains how we were feeling by this time. We walked back through the briars to the top, checked out the lovely views and took some photos. Fi suggested everyone set their GPS device to the parking location, at which point Charlie realised he'd left his GPS at GZ. So we followed the glow again, back to the cache. We eventually made it out and back to the car. Saw a deer and a skippy along the way. TFTC. We had a fun night and appreciate you bringing us here.

23-Jan-15
An amusing stagger around in the dark last night. We found the cache with less trouble than the carpark! We also had to return when the smallest member of the team left his GPSr at GZ. Nice one C! TFTC, a beautiful view at night.

31-Dec-14
While up this way for a new years picnic we noticed the area around GZ had been burned. Uh oh...
However, we have now learned that glow in the dark paint is apparently fireproof! A few rocks needed repositioning, however the trail is still readily followable - and there are far fewer spikey brambles.
The final cache, although in the middle of a burned area, is completely fine, as are the contents. Hooray for ammo cans and large protective rocks.

02-Dec-14
Wonderful trail with a semi easy walk to the cache which was a bit difficult to locate... some rocks needed to be rotated so they were visibly glowing, which we happily did Very Happy Found with bf, who nearly ended up down the hill when he slipped off a big rock while I was signing the logbook ^-^ TFTC

24-Aug-14
A little after midnight Sebastbat and I came across from hunting drop bears to find this one.
Took a while to get past the first little glow, but once we had the trail was pretty good going,
A cool night where more than feet were frozen!

I flew into Melbourne and rented a car to come to Oz Mega. This is my first geocaching trip to Australia and I am enjoying it so far. Of course I searched for and found a few caches between Melbourne and Murray Bridge.

After registering for Oz Mega I did some caching as part of Team Z (Grub Fred, JMCz, and myself). Team Z did the Oz Mega 2014 SA series, the Oz Mega 2014 Signal series, the Wandering Heroes series, and the Fruit Loop series. Team Z found over six hundred (600) caches in the four days of caching as a team. Monday night Team Z had a cook out and said our good-byes; JMCz and Mrs. Cz headed north to see more of Australia, Grub Fred and wife headed home, and myself headed to Adelaide to visit SEMIK and Skippy.

Tonight I am caching with SEMIK. She is showing me some night caches in the Adelaide area that she thinks I will enjoy finding, and this is one of them. This is my cache find number fifteen (15) for the day and cache find number twenty thousand fifty five (20055) overall.

May your year 2014 be better than your year 2013. May all your days bring more smiles Smile than frowns Sad. Cache on.

After scoring some accommodation in Mount Barker for the evening Cats&Dragons and I headed down to Adelaide to hit up this cluster of night caches. We weren't disappointed! Fantastic views of the city night lights and each cache provided plenty of variety. A great evening's caching. Thanks!

16-Apr-14
Having just arrived in Adelaide for the OZ MEGA 2014 Slieschke met me at the airport and was showing me some of the sights around and this was early in the journey and our first night caching in Adelaide.

What a great introduction to the night and the sights of Adelaide, really enjoyed this and the variety of night caches in the area. I had never done a night cache like this before and as soon as we worked out what was needed we were of on the hunt

Thanks for the placement and going to the trouble of putting this together

Final cache find for the evening with Alex-thesquirrel and we weren't disappointed! Took a few minutes to work out what we were looking for and then we followed an awesome little trail all the way to gz.

This one also deserves a favourite point! Wow, 4 fave points in a row- not sure I've ever given out this many at once! Thanks for the awesome caches Very Happy

WHAT AN AWESOME CACHE!!! Found with bek-theraccoon

23-Nov-13
This was a tricky one with long grass.
Took quite an effort to identify where the trail started but it all worked perfectly from there.
An awesome concept. TFTC

23-Nov-13
My only complaint is that all of these fabulous night caches are clustered together -- and so one is left comparing one to the other without reason. The three I did this night were all so well planned and laid out. We struggled a little on this one but its mainly due to the height and thickness of the grass -- but so VERY cool in the path leading to the final and the final itself!! You need a torch but then you don't... excellent!! I can't help but be greedy for more! I will revisit this one with anyone I can drag along! Thanks, Team Wibble!

Really enjoyed this, favourite pt from me!

13-Sep-13
Found on a night hike with the Bloo Rovers, great views on the walk around and some really cool caches. This one was esspecially good, never seen a concept like it before, and it worked really well, easy enough to find and hard enough to be interesting, loved it,

Thanks

This was the last of the nearby night caches I have had on my list. Perfect for visiting when a little late home from work!
Arrived at the parking coordinates just after the sun had set, still a faint glow in the sky. By the time I got to the starting spot it was nice and dark. Could still see a muggle car and motorbike about 100m uphill though Surprised I wander where they got that key from!!!
A quick walk brought me to GZ however and a nice easy find away from watchful eyes [^]
Cheers & thanks for a fun hunt Wibbles

17-Aug-13
Found at 19:45 by Olga, navigated by Stephen, signed by Fay. Ian just watched - he is a pensioner.

04-Aug-13
My first of this style of Multi cache and I am definitely a fan,
locating the reflectors wasn't to hard and a quick and easy find ensued.
Took the Freddo's Solice TB, I will try and find a suitable home for it soon.

Joined in with a bunch of mad keen cachers which banded together to become Naughty Night Nitwits team, this was the third night cache for the night which was a cold wet & windy night TFTC

02-Aug-13
This cache i loved for so many reason but the best one was that it was the least steep cache that i had been to all night. I loved the children's excited voices telling every to turn off the torches. GZ was quite a sight to see.

Thanks again Team Wibble.

02-Aug-13
What a great night! It seems Naughty Nighttime Nitwits (or whatever spelling variation was used) enjoy traipsing across high and low countryside in cold, wind and rain.....I know I sure did! Cool
Actually, I think the great company of so many people intent on having fun just made the mood so cheerful that the weather conditions were ignored! Wink
By the time I got home, I'd had 6 successfull locus cache events and a lot of fun Big Grin

A shame we didn't get surrounded by brisal5's herd of deer however this was still an exceptionally different night cache and great fun to do! [^]
Loved the unique means of guiding us, they are so cool shining in the dark! Cool

Teee here heeee, just having a little chuckle at Brisal's misadventures!!
We were a bit like that tonight!

A superb Wibbles cache, As always!
A great mix of terrain, shiny things and a brilliant GZ! Smile
I believe the log book was signed as the Naughty Night Time Nitwits(?) as there were about 30 of us that attacked this one tonight!
I love the fact that you can complete the three night caches here without moving the car!!
Fantastic use of the area Team Wibbles, and thanks for another great night cache!! [^]

These are just gorgeous!!!
I enjoyed the walk as a
Part of the caching convoy tonight!
A superb night time adventure, with a bunch of great people!
Thanks Wibbles!!

Loved this one done with the knight knit... whatever crew, loads of fun and a favourite from us too... and err... Gayle managed to stay upright, although there were a couple of spots that were a bit nervy in the slippery muddy terrain tonight.

Gayle minus Mark ( because he was home in bed snoring)

Wow what a cache to end with all of Team Naughty Night Nitwits, we were all aglow with complements of the cache concept.

This is one of the must do caches, with new GCrs, to show what creative people they will meet. A well deserved Fav. Smile

So much fun when there is a mass group tackling night caches, torch not needed the eager cachers in the group light the way the glow stands out to show us the way another great night time cache with the naughty nitwits group TFTC Team Wibble

Found as part of the Naughty Nightime Nitwits. This was our favourite for the night as we really enjoyed the concept and the planning and effort that was plain to see. We had a fun time tonight with a great bunch of folks. Thanks Wibbles for the fun caches and to the Scoobsters for providing the organisation and cupcakes! Smile

02-Aug-13
The Naughty (k)Nightly Nitwits strike again.

The city below us was glowing from the lights
The kids' cheeks were glowing from the exertion
The path to the cache was glowing from all the torches
Right now I am glowing from the hot coffee with a large dash of Tia Maria I am drinking whilst logging

and the Wibbles are glowing with pride as yet another fave point is coming their way

Oh, yes, right at the end I snuck in Freddo's Solace TB for the next intrepid travellers

Spider's eyes glow in the light of a torch. OMG! These ones must be huge! They lined the path leading to the cache. They even surrounded the cache when we found it. A quick sign of the log an all the Naughty Nightime Nitwits evacuated the area and left it to the spiders again. Thanks Wibbles for such an interesting time!

02-Aug-13
Found as part of the Night Nitwit cacher assault on the caches of Mt Osmond. A good turnout of around 30 cachers in cool and damp conditions but it didnt take long to warm up with the various treks.

Favourite point for this one - looks really good when all the stones are activated. TFTC. Big Grin

Miss GG and I had planned to do these night caches for ages.. and tonight's weather was amazing so we took the opportunity to do them straight after work.

and Team Wibble didn't disappoint... Steep hills, crazy looking bears and prickly plants, always know you will get a little cardio workout with a Wibble cache Very Happy

Brilliant adventure, awesome cache I shall award you a favorite point for it all

Had a great walk across the ridge from the other cache... there were a few bike riders out... with some very bright head lights... no that would be fun... Rocked up at GZ and read the notes..... took us a few mins but we worked out what was needed.... Absolutely friggen cool!! This one is the favorite of the night. I love this one to the max... if i could award you 10 favorites I would.. Great job... I had great pleasure making them all shiny at the end... but be careful where you plonk you bum!! mini prickly plants everywhere.

Thanks Team Wibble for the cache Very Happy

A cold, windy, foggy rainy check, all good, but a few trail markers added for good measure.

07-May-13
After doing DropBears Run I wanted to do this nightcache too. Razz My companions just kept walking away ignoring my requests to detour to this. [:(!] (I was later to learn that they just didn't hear me). So in a huff I muttered "well I'll do it alone then" and veered off over the hill to the startpoint. (I later learnt that they didn't hear this either and my long suffering wife caught up to explain it to them and then set off after me with no GPS just following the trail hoping to find me. ) [;0]

Meanwhile the batteries on both my GPS and my torch were fading fast. Sad Lucky the glow from the city lights meant I could use both sparingly till I reached the start point.
The track was easy to follow and and pretty soon I was at GZ. Yep it's a goat track but after the trek to Dropbears run this was a cinch. Another excellent cache. But as I was writing the log and replacing the cache I kept hearing weird noises in the bushes around me. Perhaps the drop bears had heard I was alone and easy prey now. I decided to follow the trail back to the open space as soon as I could. When I got to the startpoint there way a spectre standing there with a glowing face. Surprised

It was the wife texting the others with her face lit by the mobile. Red Face She told me how she got there adding that at one point she was surrounded by a herd of deer! Cool

Great adventure. Thanks Team Wibble. Big Grin And another fav. Perhaps they listen next time [?]

The third and unfortunately the last cache tonite with the Scoobsters, gadanga and Don't Panic Arthur. And done the way I like with (in my opinion) the BEST saved for last.
Really liked the trail and couldn't help myself from rushing to the front to see where it lead. And we weren't disappointed when we got there. And to complete the experience - a glow pathtag Big Grin
Many thanks to Team Wibble for the cache and tag.

26-Apr-13
The Scoobsters said this was a must and we are glad they did. Never seen this before and it was so effective. Lots of flashing on and off, and then when we got to GZ, well that was again a great surprise, Splashes everywhere, loved the look of the container also. Thanks to Team Wibble for putting out REALLY good night hides and thankyou to the Scoobsters for bringing us here. Enjoyed ourselves. TFTC

Just cracked a couple of FTF's in the NE and the evening weather was too good to waste. Spontaneously decided to duck up into the hillside on the way home. Arrived at the parking spot to find the frog-mobile. Gave the Frog a call, he was hunting Drop-bears!!
Off a strolled towards the gentle glow of city lights. Sauntered down the hill under the subtle glow of my headtorch. Arrived at the listed co-ords to find a new glow. Followed the subtle glowing path to find an ammo can. It left me with a warm glow of my own.

Great night cache guys. Back to find the Frog now. TFTC Wibbles.

22-Apr-13
After our FTF victory at the nearby night cache, Mr Tardis and Mr Scoobster headed over here for some more night caching fun. Mr Scoobster had done this one previously so he took the rear, while Mr Tardis was the lead, following the glow.

Another sturdy cache hide was located by the power of moonlight (and some torches).

This is another great night cache, I bet kids would love this one. I haven't seen this type of night cache before, a nice way to do it. It may need some winter maintenance in a month or two as the grass grows.

Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Team Wibble, another favourite point for you.

04-Apr-13

No cheating for Astro. Morals kicked in as always. I did it by the flash method with the P7 LED Lenser. If you just push the button, it doesn't actually stay on but goes into super bright "look at it and no night vision for 60 minutes" mode.

So I pushed the button. Boy those rocks rock.

They stayed lit for ages but I liked flashing so I flashed often. That way they looked way cool.

Kids, make sure you take a grown up with you up there. It was a bit spooky. Razz

Thanks to Team Wibble and clear skies from TeamAstro.

04-Apr-13
I popped out with pepper schnitti Astro for a quick cache in the hills. He said how about two. In the end eight....

Realised when we parked the car that it was possibly cooler than expected, however a quick walk warmed us up. See Astros log for the view - impressive. Once at the listed coords I realised that I should have upgrade my Mark I shorts to Mark II pants, due to scratchy bushes - although I let Astro go first to find the really sharp ones...

Pleasant scramble along the lit way to find the cache. Glowed well.

02-Apr-13
So I cheated. Sorry. I bought an industrial ultra violet torch. The glow fluoresced exceptionally well under these conditions, and I had not reason to the on/off procedure. After a couple of showers of rain the track was slippery. The fluorescing glow was so good I found a couple of upside down glows away from the track. I replaced these as I went. GZ is very obvious when you get there. Then came the problem of using an industrial strength ultra violet torch. Your eyes see the UV and adjust for daylight conditions. Any night adaption you have is blown to pieces. Fortunately I also had the mother of all visible spectrum torches, the mighty Cree Tactical Pro. Cache found and logged. Great views of Eldorado. Love the kitten eating monster.

01-Apr-13
So does anyone want to park at the PARKING COORDS and have a go at this tonight? Big Grin

01-Apr-13
Found It!
I got 2nd at 7:15pm. Not really dark at that time but I still got to GZ...
I have now approached that hill from both directions and I can safely say that the top is the much easier option!
I didn't see any other cachers on the hill tonight...

WOHOOO FTF FTF FTF @ 11.20pm..

WOW GUYS.. WHAT A GREAT IDEA! ..LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!
Mr Scoobster headed off and did this one with some newbie friends who were visiting... sadly kids were already in bed...but given the rains of late we didn't want to take them out in unknown terrain...
But arrived at gz and headed on the journey.. very very cool idea. And a LOVELY BIG CACHE at the end!!
Mr scoobster and friends really enjoyed this and will DEFINITELY be bringing the kids back tonight so they can have a go!

Fav point from us on this idea.. so simple.. yet so very effective. You've even got some newbs hooked on caching now too!

Keep up the good work! Wink
