Pretty sure we new what to look for but nothing seeing as just been replaced did a paf and yes we were right so rechecked but nothing here ...1 hole ?? Lokky1 15 November 2016 13:44
Spent a lot of time staring on the stairs avoiding the occasional muggle. We think we found where the cache should have been but not the cache itself. Will email CO with photographic evidence
I came here hoping to fill a hole in my grid but lucked out. The woman jogger running up and down the stairs who joined us after a 15 minute search must have thought (correctly) that we were mad!
We were in the area so we gave this a search.
Four of us searched thoroughly in every area and item we could think of without joy.

This took me three visits to find! The clouds parted, the sun shone down and angels sang as I found this cache!
Found it with Batmandeep on my second attempt (his 3rd) great cache. Super sneaky thanks
No go for me today, it was flamin' hot! Up the stares, down the stairs, muggles going everywhere stairing at me. Gave it 3o minutes before I was parched and looking for my ice cool Refresh in my chillie bin.... I know it's probably there though, hmmmm... just wonder where..
This was our second visit. Was supposed to visit yesterday as part of the SEAC team on the way back from our New Years Camping trip however we realised that we had to pick up our cat early as they were closing due to holiday times meaning that we had just on an hour to get there, we had to make our apologies whilst the rest of the team made the find.
However was back again tonight after dropping off Miss NZT and on dusk I started my search.
I had an idea of what I was looking for and sure enough after 10 to 15 minutes I had my hand on the cache, I have to admit it did take me a couple of walks up and down the stairs but am now very relieved to have this one showing as a smiley.
Definitely gets a Fav point from us and thanks G2 for maintaining this cache from our previous unsuccessful attempt.

On our way back home from camping at Atiu Creek and stopped at the golden arches for a spot to eat when one of the teams of SEAC mentioned this cache had been visited unsuccessfully, which motivated us to have a look... wolfed down the lunch and drove to a car park suitable for the trailers nearby... we did have a member who had made the find some time ago, but they remained tight lipped unless specifically asked...
Upon reaching GZ we all spread out searching our own theories and I saw something that stood out ....but alas this was not the cache... went for a wander to see what others were thinking then returned to my original theory and moments later had the cache in hand, quickly returned and left for the others to find.
Great camo job. Fav point awarded.
TFTC.

A group of us from South and East Auckland (SEAC) had been camping north of here at Atiu Creek for new years eve (an adventure as we needed to evacuate due to most tents being damaged in the wind and rain and therefore we moved into the bach rented by some of our group). We stopped at the golden arches for lunch on our journey home. One of the group mentioned that he had previously attempted this cache, but had been unsuccessful so asked if we could all help find it. Then they realised that they had to rush to get the cat from her holiday home as it was closing early due to the holidays,so we headed off to make the fid without them.
So we were left to make the find with newlynfam, stik-a-crane, darthcacher1, purply, eir-ot and unclesamnz was there too, but just sat and laughed as he had previously found it.
A few hunches were explored, Mr Stik-a-crane was on the right track from the start but we still took a while to confirm his idea. Signed as SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) so as not to fill up the log. Very clever hide. Favourite from us.
**I have a feeling I wrote the wrong date on the log sheet as I had signing privileges with this one, we found it on 3/01/16 but I think I signed 3/12/15 - we were returning home from a more adventurous holiday than anticipated and were a bit tired.

On the way back from our camping trip up north, we (my fellow geocachers and I- the SEAC, or South East Auckland Crew) decided to detour for some lunch. After we were all fed and refreshed, we decided to head to look for this cache, as NZTravellers had mentioned that they had looked for it but not found it. So we decided to show them how it was done. As it turned out, they weren't able to come with us... but we went anyway!!!
UncleSamNZ had found this cache before, and refused to offer any help whatsoever- he enjoyed standing by and laughing at us too much, I think! So we scoured GZ, looking up, looking down, looking off to the sides..... after a bit, Mr Stik-a-Crane found it.... then promptly returned it before any of us could see, and sat down with UncleSam!!!! The rest of us were told that we had to find it for ourselves, which eventually, in pairs, we did! It took a few minutes as we were all looking in different places, and the "finders" were very sneaky! But we all got there in the end, and finally stood together and admired the cleverly-constructed cache!!!
Very, very well done, and a fun experience with my usual crew!!!! A fave point for the awesomeness of the cache, and the laughs we all had at each others' expense finding it!!!

Now this was an awesom cache. We searched at every level before we found this one. Very cleverly crafted. T4TC. Did with Mycro Man
I turned up to my meeting nearby in German timing, but was sent for a coffee as I was to early! Coffee is overrated when there are caches to be found! So I figured I might as well walk over and check it out, and then return at lunch time if nothing surfaces now... I stared and staired for a while, and then realised what could be checked And there is was!! I was definitely not prepared with any tools but it improvisation worked fine! I still do not get the fruity reference though? TFTC!!!!
Found this awhile ago but to log it needed to upgrade. Very tricky cache. Nice spot.
Woo hoo!! Our 300th cache!! We've had a good day today collecting 4 caches totalling more than 150 fav points, culminating in this favorited beauty, all within a couple of kms.
After reading the hint had an idea of what we might be looking for and zillion steps later we found it!
Thanks for all your fun cache hides!!

Was with vistra starting the roadtrip, this was the most obvious one for the first of the roadtrip, and wanted to get it since it was back in place again, we had looked exactly where it was and it was missing last time we were here.
Quick find this time as we knew what we were looking for!! Well made and making use of the natural surroundings. TFTC

Joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 this morning to go out and get a cache with 10 favourite points to start the Geocaching Road Trip. With 70 favourite points, this seemed an appropriate cache to target! We soon worked out what the hide was likely to be and it wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. Very nicely hidden cache this one - another favourite point added! TFTC!
Message came through yesterday that this cache had been replaced. Good news because it meant on our earlier attempts the cache was actually missing and not our caching skills! Found myself with enough time while waiting to pick up my daughter and her friends (a holiday day of shopping) to have another look and found the cache in the first place I looked! So we had been right in what we thought we ought be looking for all along - awesome. Found out later GAR looked for this again with 10 minutes to spare in the area last week, unaware again it was missing. Guess we thought we had misinterpreted all the clues.
Great hide though!!! Not surprised it takes time to locate. Thanks for the challenge!

so much exercise looking for this cache. No luck this time though. Might have better luck during daylight hours
Ran (huh, walked really) the Round the Bays today and daughter wanted to send a birthday voucher on the way home so decided I wanted to find a cache while she was shopping. Unfortunately, after much searching and finding a few likely suspects we didn't end up turning this into a smile today. Not sure where it is hiding but will have to come back and maybe will have fresh eyes ( here's hoping).
After an afternoon of successful caching there is nothing worse than finishing on a DNF! MrNZT, in particular, loathes dnf's much less posting them and to finish his caching count short of his target for today has just ruined his Sunday, lol!!!
We knew it would be challenging and it is, so will be back! TFTF (thanks for the fustration)

Very pleased with ourselves with this one- crazy how a hard rated cache is sometimes easier than a one starred ! More by luck than anything it was in hand before we got down and serious, thanks to very sharp eyes of kiwiscot TFTC get a favourite from us.
Oh my Goodness ! This has been driving me CRAZY ! Have been many times , with Ric, plus also on my own many times... Finally had to resort to accepting a hint ....found we had had it in hand earlier , and not realised !!!!
It's THAT good !
Thanks very much for the challenge Glyn ! WHAT a relief not to have to go there again !!!!

Not only a very tricky hide but very well engineered. Had me fooled but stuck with it and achieved in the end. Tftc.
Found this one today. I couldn't make head nor tail of the clue but started off on the right level- was looking in the wrong place and couldn't find it. Changed levels, did some illegal (which you don't have to do) and returned to starting location. I was about to give up on this when I tried something that eventually led me to the cache. I signed the log very gladly as I needed this D/T combination for a challenge I am doing. Happy New Year.
Thanks for the cache G2's bodyguard.

What an amazing hide, absolutely brilliant and so confusing. Once I relished what was going on I was on the trail. Now I've reached my 100th cache and a favorite from me
Out on a night mission of caching with Helefant. We maybe think we had it in hand, but didn't realise it. Will re-investigate next week on our next night mission, just to check.
Bloody fantastic hide. We had given up. Spotted something that might have promise. Check, nope, check, nope, check, nope, check, nope, check, YES! Juju_nz takes the credit for the find, but me for putting us on the right track. A great team! Awarded a favourite, great work. Off to night market now. Cheers!
What a CUNNING hide! Great hunt for Mr N while Mrs N was shopping. Note to Glyn: The log is over-full and in need of a new one. (Sadly didn't have a replacement with me)
Back again today for another hunt after missing out last time and we were determined to find it this arvo. Still took a lot of hunting, but a few helpful photos and some determination paid off and the crafty cache was eventually spotted. Definitely worth the effort - a great cache to find. TFTC
Far out. One of our better team efforts. Funny how all the notes match up after you find it. Tftc
This took some serious searching my me and the Mini a Future Finder this afternoon. Up and down we went. Theories developed tested and rejected. Ultimately only the implausible were left. Even then it took a meticulous search to find even with the exact nature of the hind correctly hypothesised. Cheers for the cache placement!
Gave it a good nudge but no joy today. Have a better idea now after coming home so will try again another time.
We stared into space only for a few minutes before making the find. Not quite sure how we found it so quickly, as there were a lot of potential spots. Excellent camo and we give the cache its 65th favourite point. Log sheet is full and somewhere we just managed to scrawl AV. TFTBrilliantC.
A very clever hide Glyn it's had me fooled for quite a while. Well worthy of a favourite.
I have been reluctant to attempt this as the other one had me fooled-couldn't believe it when I almost went straight to it-simple but very effective-tftc
We rocked up to GZ after a brillant afternoon caching and weren't sure if we would be frustrated or victorious last DNF/find....well we made our weary way to where we thought would be the most likely place for a Glyn camo cache... had a brief look around when I randomly touched something and was surprised at the result.... some days we do surprise ourselves...and so it was VICTORY and Mr P says its well worth a favourite.
Today, we decided to return to Albany following the Mega weekend to grab some of the caches in the area that we had previously missed.
This one provided us with a necessary challenge to get our caching senses warm up! Luckily it didn't take us *too* long to spot, but it did have us stumped for a few moments. A very, very, neat hide. TFTC!

Was up in Auckland for the mega and popped out to collect some caches in the area. This cache was easy to find because of the huge number of cachers in the area. Thanks for another cache and getting me out and about. I had a great time at the mega and these caches added to the experience.
This cache is so well done. It took me a while to locate it but I finally got this one.

NZ MEGA day three. Back near MEGA ground zero after the pathtag event with time to attempt some more of G-2's attempt to carpet bomb Albany. I had been forewarned about this one. Descended and climbed the stairs a couple of times and then spotted a likely spot. A very clever hide. Add me to the favourite list.

Found with the Seagnoid on our second visit. Had finally caught up with the CO at MEGA and in conversation he kindly volunteered a helpful hint about which level to look (we had checked them all out at length on our first visit). Very nice to meet you in person, Glyn, after enjoying so many of your cleverly crafted hides. It didn't take too much staring and poking about to find what we were after - and we had a good laugh at the simple cleverness. A deserved favorite - this one has come up in conversation amongst those of us that have found it!
[green] Second attempt at this one, after Edvern got a tip as to which level it was on (which is where i expected it to be, given the title). Edvern found a not-hide and I said "if you ever make a dummy post or thing at a sign, always make a matching dummy at the other side, so that your hide does not look obvious" and so we proceeded to check the other not-hides. Found it, very nicely done! Gets a favourite from me, too.
OMG! I had found the previously hidden cache here so knew what we were up against. Parked the car at the base after the MEGA had closed for the night and saw another car there too. Cool another cacher to team up with I thought! Wrong! This guy just sat in his car at 11 at night while we did some quick searching. In the end I called it a night as I was feeling uncomfortable about it. Came back the next dsy for another look in the light. We gound plenty of things not quite right, so resorted to PAF before Red junior dismantled anything else! Turns out we were on the right track just not the right spot. While on the phone Red junior round ut! Cool hide! Deserved yet another fav point. Cheers Glyn. TFTC
0925 Trying to get a few of the ones around the MEGA site. Am very glad that I was finally able to get this one (without any help even). Took quite a few attempts, but not too many muggles to interrupt the searches. Dry and intact. Still a few spaces in the log scroll.

OMG... where to start? Up? Down? Or in between? A very crafty hide, found by Mr L with a HUGE sigh of relief
Returned alone, without the crowds of other seekers this morning.
Trusted my instincts, first unsuccessfully, but third one touch revealed the log containment capsule.
Enjoyable, but left with a question that I cannot ask without giving away the hide.....
clever use of opportunity in this hide!

Ran out of time yesterday, so returned today on my own. Was soon onto the right method. Examined lots of the objects before spotting the cunning camo during a second round of checking. Brilliant handiwork and so clever to discover the opportunity for the hide. A favourite from me too.
Day 7 of our Mega roadtrip to Auckland. Mum and I walked around the area this morning with justmeg looking for todays lab caches. We met up with a local along the way and he became a cache tour guide of sorts. He asked if we had done this one and I told him we were here late last night after the Flash Light Mob but didnt have any luck. The irritating thing is, I actually held the cache last night without realising it and put it back. [red] Fav point from us.[/red] Thanks for another great hide.

A very tough one that we may not have found, but had a nudge in the right direction by Signal the Frog!!
SL Thanks for the cache placement.

Had attempted this the previous day, but the sun became too hot, and we needed a feed. Not to mention curious muggles at the bus stop on top level who kept staring at us. Returned the following morning to find a couple of other cachers in compromising positions (very amusing) and were soon joined by a friend from our hometown who took great amusement from our efforts (having found it the previous day). With a very gently nudge in the right direction we eventually got there. Very well done, and nice 'n' sneaky. There were just soooo many options, and patience was definitely a virtue here.
A fav from me for a memorable hide, and a memorable hunt!

Super cache, one of my favourites of the trip. So well done it still had me fooled even after I'd worked out the hiding method. Gets a Favourite Point. Cheers and TFTC
A GREAT clever hide. We must have seen it without seeing it a couple of times as we checked around GZ. A great cache that blends in well and can be in plain sight and not noticed. We were impressed with the hide and have no trouble in awarding it yet another favourite point. Thanks for your ingenuity glyn that brought enjoyment and a sense of achievement (when it was found) to our afternoon today. [^][^]
We were on our way home from the Mega Event having completed our best ever find day when we spotted some frustrated cachers leaving the GZ. Thought we'd try one more and along with Paul, who was already searching, started looking. 'Twas not long before the secret was found and log found. Most excellent hide Glyn, this would have vexed us for a while if we hadn't stumbled across the hide...

Quite good, we'll worth a favorite point. We saw it at the exact same time. And then watched as our Aussie friends found it, but didn't realise it. Gave them some nudges and they soon were smiling too.

Auckland Mega Event 2013. Sunday and a fantastic day of caching planned alongside KiwifruitsNZ with the objective of reaching my 1000th find during the weekend. This was find # 984 on that journey. Fantastic hide. Worth a Favourite. TFTC
Had a crack at this one yesterday, but no luck. And then got a hint from previous finders. Back here today and Mrs Iamapom put her hand to it in about the 4th or 5th place we look. Epic and worth a fav point. TFTC
A very tricky and cleverly constructed hide, well worth a favourite from us. A pleasure sharing the find with our reviewer (who did most of the work and found the cache). TFTC

Saw this nearby so stared where we might have to go, wasn't long before we stared at the crafty cache ! Loved this fantastic urban hide !
Spent a while staring, without seeing.... in the company of a few others.... ran out of time, so wandered off... will return another day!
Out with Zorgon, Nova, and HPG cleaning up as many caches as we could today
Told you I'd be back! Found the little beaut this time. Masterful, even Signal was impressed!
Started on right level, then went to wrong level. Found something but wasn't it. Other cachers turned up, headed back to right level, then it was found. My original something was the same but in wrong location. Sound confusing? Pleased to find this.
A last minute dash before the Mega prizegiving in attempt to log a few more. Knew it would be a challenge just by the description. Also knew it was there because it had been found. So stare we did and traverse the levels. Youngest member of the team came up with the cache. Many whoops of joy, with words such as BLOODY BRILLIANT, and that was so AWESOME. So once again thanks.
Back again. This time with reinforcements. What an awesome hide! Pleased I don't have to walk up and down those stairs anymore!
Many thanks
Many thanks
I'm not the best cacher, but I saw this one on my phone with so many favourite points and figured we'd better attempt it at least. Nope. You're a mean one, Mr. glyn.
What a sneaky yet clever one. Took two visits before I finally clicked on to this one
Second day of the NZ Mega event - a day which saw KiwifruitsNZ aim to hit the 1900 cache mark and help MuzzaL53 get to his 1000th cache. Throughout the day, we were joined by Kiwinomad, Marchwood, LostCourse, Vamber and alpenmilch80.
Another great Glyn hide and definitely a favourite point from us! Did not take us as long to locate as I first suspected it would!
