A tour bus had just pulled up as we arrived so followed them along the track. They went one way we went the other. We turned the way to find the cache so it was a nice quick find. We then continued along the loop to meet them at the lookout.

A nice walk around this small circuit.

The main purpose for visiting Simpsons Gap today was to see the Gap after the good top up during the week. There was running water in the creek and everything is looking greener.
On previous visits I haven't had time to do the Cassia Hill Walk but I made time today. This walk turned out to be more educational than anticipated and I'm now able to put names to common plants which I've seen when riding the mountain bike trails out from the Telegraph Station thanks to the efforts of park staff.
Thanks for the walk, lesson and cache 2Lost-Souls.

Due to COVID restrictions the event is now postponed to early October 2021. Check out the event page and our website for new details. We would love to see you at this four day event. Mega event sponsored by Wattle Range Council, Geocaching.com and many other supporters. Lots of caches to find with two classic geo art trails including the famous animated bottle and glass.

Owl and Eagle are on a Northern Territory adventure, but restricted to the places that the tour company takes them. Fortunately, an excursion took them through the Simpson Gap park and a hike around Cassia Hill. The 38 degree weather completely wrecked Owl but she did get her first NT cache and completed the all-states challenge, so it was totally worth it!
Traveling australia. Staying at Alice Springs. Out exploring the area and thought we would do some caches along the way. Thanks for the cache
A bit further down the track for this one, still stopped into find on the way to Simpson’s gap for sunset
Due to the predicted bad weather I have a spare afternoon. What better way to fill it than a little geo sightseeing? Fab location. TFTC
After spending four days travelling up on my own from Adelaide, I met up with FeatherWaite in Alice Springs for a few days of travelling around and caching.
We visited various places in the West Macdonnells, including Hugh Gorge, then went out to Kings Canyon, up the Finke Gorge track to Hermannsburg, into Palm Valley, then back to Adelaide, taking a week in all. We saw, and camped in some fantastic places, although the late September weather was a little warm!
We picked this one up on the way into Simpson’s Gap.
Thanks 2Lost-Souls for the cache.

Flew up to Alice Springs for a conference, then met up with e.gregory1 for an epic road trip through the West MacDonnell Ranges, Mereenie Loop Rd, Kings Canyon, Luritja Rd, Ernest Giles Rd, Finke Gorge NP, Hermannsberg, Larapinta Drive, back to the Alice then down the Stuart Hwy to Adelaide, with awesome sights and great caches along the way. Thanks for the cache 2Lost-Souls!

Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

Found on our Red Centre Experience. Like the previous cache, this one was quickly completed on our way up to Simpsons Gap. This was a longer walk than the last one, but despite the heat, it was pretty easy to climb the hill to GZ. Without realising there was a path straight to the top (we must be blind), we bushbashed through the grass up the hill for a quick find - the coordinates may have been slightly out, but it was all good in the end. Lovely views from here. TNLNSL. TFTC 2Lost-Souls!
Found on another great day with dghoffy and granville86a as part of the temporary caching team TTSS (Trans Tasman Swiss Squad). Sadly it was our last day caching as TTSS during the Red Center Event, but we had heaps of fun.
Thanks 2Lost-Souls for luring us up here and have us admire the Simpsons Gap from another perspective, too!

13314. Next find of Day 04 of the Red Centre Experience Roadtrip.
I flew into Alice Springs to meet up with my caching mates Sol de Lune, Albida33 and LuckyL10n (signing mostly as ALFS) to attend the Red Centre Experience and then venture up north to Darwin and then east into Qld before heading south for home - a three week caching trek.
Next stop for the day. Although it was a bit of a walk, we were so close we decided to do this one. A quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and it was off to the next cache.

Alice trip 2017. Day 12. Today was the third day of the Alice Springs Red Center event. The day took Sol de Lune, Luckyl10n, Fitzy_1965 and I on the Larapinta road loop to the chasms and Hermansberg. A very long day but plenty of great places to see. A bit of a scramble up here and so many possibilities.
Thanks.

#6868 - 09:25; Day 14 of the Alice Mega Road Trip with Sol de lune, albida33 and fitzy_1965, so signing logs as A.L.F.S. We are in Alice Springs for the Red Centre Experience event which is the primary justification for our trip. Today's mission is to cache around a loop along Namatjira Drive to Tyler's Pass then back along Larapinta Drive via Hermannsburg. The trip resulted in 48 finds and no DNFs! Have to love that All caches found were in good order, including this one, which we stopped for on the way back from Simpsons Gap. TFTC 2Lost-Souls

We spent the next 5 days caching around the region enjoying the area and finding a lot of the local caches. A great spot to visit and well worth the effort to get here.
