Another long trip around AU over the top end with lots of detours. Now heading back east across the Nullarbor with a stop at Maralinga, Ceduna, Lincoln National Park, Coober Pedy & Oodnadatta.TFTC. Yikes. Not in the bushes. Must be out there. Awesome place. Rock fragments are excellent.Be careful. The place is extremely fragile. Parts of the rockface broke away as I moved rocks to grab the cache.
Was really hoping it was in the bush. A little death defying but slow and careful did it over the edge.It was on a whim that saw us in Oodnadatta last night. Great decision. Great to travel along the Oodnadatta Track, see the town and be in some real baron outback. A little delay this morning with a telehealth, that finished and in the car and out to see the area. Bare rock covered in the ground it makes you wonder what the cows eat. 60km return of some pretty bumpy roads to the painted Desert was worth it. Fairly sure a section is folliws a graded creek for a while. Stunning mesas and colours, and exploring in and on them in a mosaic of colours. Their are blue skies forever and the warm temperatures still just comfortable. Had a good chat with our last nights neighbours at the painted desert. Funny where you meet people. The day just kept giving, moon plain in the Gibber desert was a fascinating area to drive through, like something outer worldy with its rocky crystal covered surface, completely void of any plants. Back into Cooper Pedy to explore some more, crocodile Harry's bunker was a crazy character filled experience and worth the visit to see the eclectic home. Van collected, it was up the ladder at the welcome sign then off down the road heading south. After dinner at Glendambo, it was a free camp at Lake Hart after seeing The Ghan pass by shortly before.
Wow wow wow this place is incredible. Thank you for show me this particular spot it is spectacular
Hadnt done our homework so we didnt know what we were in for. Got out of the painted desert, and then decided to search to see if there were any caches around. Four of them showed up on the map on the iPhone but we couldnt get information about any of them. We followed the map, almost to the ends of the Earth, and then Horror! Is that where it is? The brave one of us venture forward and managed to find and sign the log. TFTC.
We were camped at the nearby Arckaringa Station and dragged ourselves out of bed before dawn so we could come see the sunrise on the hills. We wandered along the walking path seeking out more stunning views and eventually reached this point.
M was unimpressed when I pointed out where GZ seemed to be but I wasn't going to be deterred. Due to my dislike of heights however, I ended up doing a lap of the rock which I know sounds counter-intuitive. But it did put me in the correct position to see the container - right back where I had been standing initially!
Thanks for find #4719

This must be the most beautiful spot we've ever watched a sunset from! Thanks for bringing us here. Cache was an easy find, TFTC.

One of many stops as we journeyed from Arkaroola to Coober Pedy via Oodnadatta.
We arrived here just before sunset too enjoy the show and camped at Arckaringa Station before heading back for some sunrise delights, followed by breakfast in front of the hills.
Found with scouter 101.

Unfortunately we had to abort finding this one when we were within three metres of the GZ. We were with friends and are all in our seventies, so were reluctant to take the risk for the saje of a find.
Found with Jac-Jam while walking and driving, exploring the Painted desert area on a day trip from the Cadney Roadhouse. TFTC.

Found with the Hardacres on our way back from the Rock. Given my fear of falling I had a little melt down at this one but lucky for me the boys could retrieve the cache without any problems. 14 July 2019 11:12 am Thanks for the Cachemrnoo17.
Found with Freddo, E.Gregory1 and Featherwaite on our return from the Simpson Desert.

Found as part of an extended trip with FeatherWaite, Freddo, Team Waldron and a couple of non-caching friend that saw us travel from Adelaide to Coober Pedy, through the Painted Desert to Oodnadatta, then on to Dalhousie and Mount Dare, before crossing the Simpson Desert to Birdsville and then back down to Adelaide via Marree and the Flinders Ranges.
We had pretty good weather, with moderately warm days and cool nights, but plenty of flies!
It was great to be able to find some remote caches in some really interesting and scenic locations.
Thanks Elev8!on [mrnoo17] for the cache.

Found in the company of Freddo, e.gregory1, Team Waldron, occasional cacher out of retirement SteadyOn and muggle friend Tony during an awesome trip to the Simpson Desert, staying at Coober Pedy, then camping out at Dalhousie Springs, three nights in the Simpson Desert, Birdsville, Clayton Bore and Aroona Valley. Thanks for the cache mrnoo17!
Tenkae's Outback Adventure Day 16 - after camping at the nearby station, we ventured out here along a very muddy road. Spectacular!
This place is just fantastic.
Words cannot descibe the beauty here - esp in the morning. Chekc out te video on the nearby earth cache log. Here are a few pics. as well.
Found with H423L on an epic trip up to find Pluto (GCG32B) - the furthest known planet at the time of TeamAstro's solar system inception. There was dust, flies, more dust, no mud and a million stars at night. There were no tyre issues. The geocaching led us to spectacular spots that were out of the way - and a few spots that were popular as it was the school holidays. We cached a few caches with others and it was good to see our friends on the trail.
Thanks to Elev8!on [mrnoo17] and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

WHOOPS! I'm logging about 100-200 or so caches like 3 months after the trip that we found them on! Completely forgot to log these but I did not forget the trip! Found this cache along with many others on an adventure around the red centre. Along this adventure we visited and explored many phenomenal and surreal places such as Woomera, Coober Pedy, Uluru and Mutitjulu, Kata Tjuta, Wattarka, Tnorala, Both East and West Macdonnell ranges, Arltunga, Ruby Gap, Palm Valley, Parts of the Finke road, Boggy Hole, Rainbow Valley, Old Ghan Route, Chambers Pillar, Oodnadatta track, Mount Dare, Dalhousie Springs, Painted Desert, Moon plane and I'm sure I've missed a few! Thank you so much for the cache. Found with Ferociousflea and -Beaker- along with our mint 79 series that accomplished alot in this two week time frame.

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Set up for sunset but sadly it just didnt happen tonight. Grabbed the cache anyway and loved the views. Amazing spot we have been brought too. Tftc
Geo/rge and I having started our journey home from Alice Springs to Moe, Victoria; after attending the Red Centre Experience.
We are enjoying all the sites and sounds that the caches are taking us to.
Today we head for the Painted Desert.
A quick find and the log was signed.
What a great place to visit. It was overcast today but the colours still looked great.

On our way to Alice Springs for the Event over Easter using the back roads from Canberra. Apologies for my generic log but I wasn't able to keep up with them while on the Oodnadatta Track.
I had managed to convince Pa to come this way rather than stay on the Oodnadatta Track. Luckily for us he ran into Geono, while finding another nearby cache, as we didn't have the coordinates for this cache. He tagged along with them and soon the cache was in hand and stamped. TFTC

We were joined by Smittengranny at the last cache and continued on together to this. Stunning views of The Painted Desert......this was worth all the dust and flies we ate on the trip! An absolute top spot to get the full picture (and some great pics). TFTC Elev8!on [mrnoo17].

Found on July 7 . This cache needs to be approached from the Car Park from where you can walk along the ridge lines to reach it. A via point in the Car Park would be useful. I tried to find one on Google Earth but could not do so.
This Cache is in my Top 5 Favourite Caches. Great spot, Great view and I probably would not have gone up there if the cache had not lured me on. TFTC.

Further out along the Oodnadatta track from our onite stop at Cadney Homestead in our caravan we Mrs one -eyed and I stopped at what our GPS was telling us it was some 863 metres over there, so without reading the next cache placed some 500metres further along the track, and which we found out on our return that their cache container was not there, so I scrambled up to withing 11 metres of the cache, but as a 72 year old fellow with only vision in one eye gave up as it was too dangerous for me.
Obviously we came in from the wrong direction.
Cheers

Well this was mammoth effort for a 70 year old
who started his search from the main road.
870+metres there and back... Almost didn't
continue but plodded along until the find was
made. It was well worth the effort. This one is
not for the faint hearted but the view is
fantastic... signed and replaced for the next
brave heart!!!!

Found while out on a trip around central Aus with the Scout 4x4 team. We are camped at the local homestead and came up here to watch the Sunset. Such an amazing landscape. Cheers for placing the cache.
I visited Liz & Bruce's cache first, as it is on the way to this cache
An amble along the ridge lines following the arrows soon brought me to this lookout and a different perspective of the Painted Desert, not to be missed [^]
I stood atop the rock at the end of the spur and took many photos
Eventually I even got 'a round tuit', and went in search of the cache, which was hiding just below where I was standing
All good with the cache [^]
Fave dance time … again !!
TFTC, and views !!
PS: Terrain rating will be a 4, if you attempt this one in thongs [:o]
Otherwise a 3

See our found log. While the area is great, the hide itself poses unnecessary danger for the following reasons:
1 - It is located on a rocky outcrop that requires VERY careful hand and foot placement. The rock is extremely brittle and crumbles under the slightest pressure. On one side, you might slide a fair way before stopping and just end up with multiple lacerations and a hard climb back up. A fall from the other side of the outcrop would almost certainly result in death.
2 - With enough searches, the rock will become more unstable over time. This is not just bad for the environment - it significantly increases what is already a dangerous scramble.
3 - The area is remote, not visited by that many people and completely lacking in services unless equipped with UHF, satphone, etc. If help is required, it most likely would not come.
We apologise for taking the drastic step of requesting archival of the cache, but we feel quite strongly that something must be done about the hide, and that GC.com needs to know about it. While it'd be a great loss to see the cache disappear, it'd be preferable to somebody falling to their death. Please move (or arrange to move) this cache to somewhere in the immediate vicinity that poses less danger/risk - for example, the small shrub located just a couple of metres away, it requires no climbing, therefore no unnecessary danger.

A fantastic spot to have another cache in this location, but the words that came to mind the most after finding it were "unnecessarily dangerous". There was also a strong wind blowing at the time of finding which added to the danger. We feel that something needs to be done about this - there are many other spots in the immediate area that could host a container without the unnecessary danger aspect. Still a superb view, though. TFTC.
Impressive location. Thanks for a backup cache in this awesome area.

I definitely took the long way round to this one. Went down a big scree and up a big scree! A bit hesitant to stick my hand in the hole in case of snakes or spiders, but finally but up the courage. Great location. TFTC

Woohoo! was yelled out as Team PacketStorm gets another FTF!
What a walk it was to this one, I'm fairly certain I didn't take the right way there or back as i went through the gorge. It is only a little steep on the return!
Amazing views here at the Painted Desert!
Took a moment to admire the area before heading back to the car to escape the flies!

Seeing that no one had shown a find for this, we thought we had a chance for a FTF.
Unfortunately, after searching for over 1/2 an hour we suspect that the coordinates are out and that the clue needs to be reviewed.
I have to request the owner reviews all aspects.
