Was wearing my longs today, so no issue with the long grass. However we could not find the area the hint referred to and after spending a good 10 mins searching merlot58 and I admitted defeat for the second time in a row.
Today it was my very first day at New Zealand and in the afternoon I decided to do a little walk at Long Bay Regional park. And it was a pleasure! What a lovely landscape! But it was funny, because you can find nearly the same in southern England. Only the plants are a little bit different.
But I enjoyed every moment and I' also was glad to pick up 14 caches (out of 20 I tried). Usually my hit ratio is higher, but for the first day in a foreign country (and a 24 hour flight) it was quite okay.
Thanks a lot for all the caches and greetings from Germany.

Took us a relatively short time to find this one after a looooong trek around the area. Happy Valentine's Day - TFTC!
I had a couple of hours to spare for a bit of a walkabout finding a few caches round here. Very hot and humid today so it was sticky work. Found this one on my way back to the car. No problems here. TFTC, Biggles.
Partis pour notre première randonnée locale en compagnie de Friwinz. Très beau temps. Mplc
Decided to walk off our Christmas lunch event by taking a short walk to collect a few caches. Had a lovely wonder around this short section of the bay and had some great views across the water towards Rangitoto. By this stage we had been joined by some other caches - nice to meet you IVSS_XX and Harisree! We stopped at GZ and had to pause for a minute to let some muggles pass. MrsNZT started prattling on about planting and regenerating native bush and how lovely it all was, but the muggles finally passed and we were able to make the quick find. Cache all in good order, thanks for the hide G2.

Long cachers, short cachers, cachers wearing shorts, cachers wearing... longs; we joined forces, defended against muggle invasion and took on this one.
Thanks for the cache!

After the pre-Christmas catch up event nearby, a few fellow cachers and I decided to go for a bit of a walk around this gorgeous spot and find a few caches.
Walked along to this one from another nearby, and were joined by another couple of cachers who were also out on a bit of a cache walk.... was nice to chat to Harisree and Ivss_xx. As we approachd GZ, some muggles apporached us, and as one was also staring at a phone, we had a moment of: "Are they geocachers? Are they not??? They are wandering along a bush track staring at a phone, after all...." but they passed us and it was safe to go in and retrieve the cache!
It's only now as I look at the cache description/ image that I understand the title!!!
Thanks for bringing me here.... we are so blessed in NZ to have such gorgeous scenery!!!

Schools out for summer. Kiwiscot & friends enjoying an afternoon caching at Long Bay. Last one of the day. The race was on for the honours and it was a joint find by our 2 muggle cachers. Lovely afternoon had by all.
A bit of a huff n puff up the hill, the harisree family were pushing a pram, so my job to carry just myself, would be easy
The harisree found the cache, and we all huddled around to sign. This is near where we got a really good look at the cows, who where gazing over the fence at us! beautiful views from up here, not visited this way before, so its all new, and a special adventure shared with Gorby, rebel98 and harisree!

what an amazing day of caching in a small group of westies. this one was a quick find once we reached the GZ. we saw the muggle cattle giving us a suspicious look. but its fine... its all part of the game. heading to the next one... tftc.
The long and short of it is this G!! We climbed the long steep hill then the short of it was Mrs harisee found the cache. I felt sorry for Mr harisee though, that hill was hard work pushing a baby in a buggy up it. But no complaints, everyone was having a neat day, it was slightly overcast and that made for perfect caching. I have never been this far north of the beach until today, lovely walks here!
Love this path and area - thanks! Container and log in good condition and so are your puns! TFTH!
On a nice walk around long Bay, thanks forbade nice easy one! Clue made it nice and simple
Guessed where this one would be as we approached and was right. Wasn't expecting the hundreds of ants that were running all over it though! Cache went flying temporarily!!!! TFTC
We thought we had busted some other geocachers when we were heading up to this. The was a group taking a short cut in the direction of the next cache that was had just been to but checked the log and it appears not
Nice easy find for this one. Out with beconaze for the day and looking forward to a cold drink at the end! TFTC
We set out early this morning to walk to the end of the trail and back in time for Zork V's farewell event. Our aim was to get to Absolute zero then cache our way back. This cache was the only exception to that as we stopped and found it on the way there. Thanks.
Headed out for a few caches since our last visit out here with YuGeo4 after Zork V's farewell event. This was our first stop and a nice quick find here on such a hot Summer's afternoon, TFTC
Joined up with Yorkshirekiwi83 to re-visit the Long Bay trail and find some of the newer caches out this way. After a couple of DNFs beforehand, it was nice to make a quick find here! TFTC!
On another lovely Sunday, out with Vistra to collect some caches at Long Bay, we found parking easily enough but it was still morning and the crowds hadnt gathered yet.
Walked along different paths around Long Bay this time and it was quite refreshing. Found easily enough, jus had to wait for muggles to pass. TFTC

Found while out for a walk with Mrs McMike2012 on Labour Day Monday ... weather forecast wasn't looking that good before we started but it ended up being a pleasant day, albeit with a cool breeze blowing in exposed areas. 2nd of 11 caches for the day. Relatively easy find but had to avoid a few 'muggles'. TN:LN:SL. TFTC. #644 for us.
This was the last cache from our coastal walk. Great to have a quick find to finish the day.
Passing by this spot ont he way back to the car. The walkway out here sure has changed since I was last out this way. Another quick find here in the dark, just after some runners went past heading north. I left a few caches to find next time out here as I didn't fancy the side detour tonight. TFTC!!!
Joined mum & Dad for their daily Long Bay walk, as it was Mums Birthday. They count the types of birds they see - we didn't see as many as usual, but we were probably talking more that looking. We always look for the 2 Ruru who are often on the Nature trail - that is Mum & Dad often see at least one of them, I am yet to have that privilege. TFTC
Out caching for the day with Cretti, Nicky2shoes and a couple of others. Nice quick find here.

Out for a day of caching with Lycurgon, had tried to come down to Long Bay a few weeks ago but traffic was horrendous . Much better today thankfully TFTC
Soon after our last find the rain came over... we stayed under a tree for a while until we decided to push on. Quick find at GZ but that's always nice when the dizzle doesn't stop. t4tc
Located this on an early morning walk around the area.
Hopefully not logged twice as I had difficulty with logs via mobile app, with variable reception

It was a shorts day--absolutely brilliant day and perfect for walking Long Bay. Had to make the rush find before the muggles coming up the trail spotted my silliness of stalking along fence posts. Turns out I could have relaxed a bit--must have dusted them coming up the hill. Cheers for the cache. It's all good to go.
Day 3 of a trip finding geocaches while heading north.
Another good find in Long Bay. SL TFTC

No need to get to the other side of the fence, no, yet from the Other Side it was much easier to find! A young pukeko family made an interesting backdrop.
I wasn't planning to come past this cache and had no spare log on me. It is chokka block. Squeezed the date in but my pen refused to write my username on the slippery corner.
Can the next visitor please bring a new log, I'm hardly able to walk, awaiting surgery soon. Thanks.
Coming to the end of our wander today but after avoiding some protective pukekos nearby stopped in here for a look. Nice quick find but log book is now full, next finder should bring a spare log if possible. TFTC
Too hot for a longer walk - so we choose this one. Cache was very good hidden. Logbook was full we did a small one in. Thanks for the hide.
As promised easy find. Scary number of muggles around for early on an overcast morning - but definite shorts day. Once the new sub division is finished the track will be like Queen st. NINO TFTC
Now the rain has passed over I think we are beginning to dry out & another smiley to cheer us on our way

Out for the afternoon to collect as many of the Long Bay caches....these have been on our hit list for a while now. Quite overcast but still a lovely day for a walk and sunburn still to be had, thanks for the caches Glyn
Last cache on the way back to the car-park and another well earned drink. All of the Glyn caches on the trail were well placed with good hints that made for a nice couple of hours cache-walk. Well done and thanks.
14051... Quick find after finishing work for the day... that's the long and short of it... TFTC.
GPS a bit wonky on this one - had me walking backwards and forwards for a while before settling on the spot. TFTC
my 11 yo found it straight away TFTC

Number 4 for the day as I attempted to run my way across long bay. No worries here TFTC
Was up in Auckland for the mega and popped out to collect some caches in the area. This cache was easy to find because of the huge number of cachers in the area. Thanks for another cache and getting me out and about. I had a great time at the mega and these caches added to the experience.
Taking time to relax at Long Bay, finding many of the caches on walkings trail in the area. A beautiful warm sunny day without the crowds of the long weekend. We virtually had the Bay to ourselves with only a few walkers & joggers around at any point in the day. Thanks to all the COs for placing a series of caches at this lovely location, to which geocaching has brought us to spend more time at.
Our stats for our leisure caching stroll around Long Bay : Total of 24 finds, only a couple required more hunting around, but had 3 DNFs. [B)]

Day 8 of our Mega roadtrip to Auckland. This was our first find after parting ways with Kiwi-Nomad and abl973 while walking back to the event. The GPS was abit jumpy and you could see others have tried a few options before finding it. This is where I cut my arm on a piece of wire hanging out. It didnt hurt but it didnt stop bleeding for awhile. Thanks for the cache

#4963 We were with our geomates Coruze, Kiara001 and TrooBloo - aka Team SNAFU enjoying our meander around the area. This cache was found at the end of the day at 8.28pm and so it was getting pretty dark - it was nearly cache by feel, thank goodness there aren't any snakes here! It was the second to last cache before heading back to the geomobile and calling it quits for the evening for a quiet "lemonade" debriefing back at our caching HQ. Our thanks to glyn once again for the cache and fun. Cheers [^]
Coruze, Kiara001, Skullracing and I were enjoying our walk in this pretty area.
Taking in the vista and the often great views out to sea and up and down the coast.
Of course we were nabbing caches too.
SL.....TNLN.....Thanks glyn for bringing us to this area.

A few of us Aussie's banded together to make NZ a hyper of activity! Accompanied by team Skullracing, Troobloo and Kiara001 we randomly picked caches to do so we weren't stuck in one particular area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in NZ with the different variety of caches and some really unique ideas.
A great coastal location with excellent walking, reminded me quite a bit of QE II Park back home. I thoroughly enjoyed the trek and finding the caches along the way. Really great to see so many people enjoying themselves out here in the sunshine today. Cheers and TFTC
A nice easy find while doing the walk with skullracing, coruze and troobloo. TFTC glyn
I'm visiting from Melbourne for the New Zealand Mega which means finding lots of caches and coming here especially to find this one - the whole experience has been fantastic. The weather has also been much nicer than back in Melbourne and that has meant long hours starting early and caching late into the night and not getting much sleep in between. I had spent many hours in the lead up to my arrival in New Zealand preparing an itinerary of caches, solved puzzles and places I wanted to visit and I'm pleased to say I completed just about everything I had planned. For the places I didn't get to visit, well that just means I'm gonna come back. I've seen stunning sights, walked lots of kilometres (and driven even more) met some great people and made new friends which has been awesome.
Thanks glyn(the only one) for bringing me here and for adding to my positive experience.

Found during the Mega weekend. The weather turned out to be much better than expected, and we enjoyed exploring all the walkways, nooks and crannies. Many thanks to all the owners of the great caches we found.

Mega 2013 Monday. Great day very busy trying for a max of different types in one day. Thanks G-2 for the cache my 2860 find
No trouble finding, but muggles were coming so we left steed to replace it. He had to go down the other way so as not to pass a group twice, but we thought we had lost him, so backtracked to the cache for a DNF, although we reunited back at the park.
One half of Steedandpeel found the cache quickly but was having problems replacing the log when a Muggle made returning the cache difficult. To avoid any suspicion we split up and returned to the car park via the two different tracks.
This was a pretty quick one. We had to get some rummaging about in the undergrowth, but we got there. The single muggle made it a pretty easy sign and replace. TFTC!
found during the MEGA with premium friends. have signed the log will become premium when i can afford it. tftc:)
